Arrived 30 minutes before closing. We were attracted by the hanging lights, colorful lounge chais and the outdoorsy picnic vibe. Our waitress told us that the kitchen had already called last call for food but she was kind enough to go in and talk to the kitchen team. We were pleased to hear they could accommodate us. After ordering bar drinks from the cute tiki type bar, our food was brought to the table piping hiot. We ordered a couple of pizzas (feeds 2 -3) and a couple sandwiches. We bought food at Bacino's and sat down at one of their outside tables to eat and play a game. Someone came and kicked us out because we were eating and playing a board game. We would understand if they stated it was against their restaurant rules, but the man said that they would get a $600 fine because we were playing a game at their table. There were people sitting at their tables without having bought any food or drinks, and they were not kicked out. We then asked if we could move to another table, the man said yes, and then he came back and doubled down and kicked us out, although we asked if we could sit there. The rule didn't make sense when there were people sitting and were watching a soccer game for 2.5 hours and there were at least 12 empty tables. read more

Me: "I'll have a root beer." Counter guy: "Do you want a fountain drink, or..." Me: Oh, you have root beer in bottles?" Counter guy: "No." Me: "...." So anyway, I ordered an Italian Beef sandwich. I specified, in classic Chicago fashion, "dipped, hot and sweet." If you're a Chicagoan, or if you know anything about Italian beef sandwiches, you'll know exactly what this means. After a 10-minute wait, I got what I assumed was the wrong order. It was dry-looking, rather thick-cut roast beef on a dry, cracked bun with a "cakey" texture, and a small patch of melted mozzarella on top. No sweet peppers. No giaridinera. No jus. I explained my order again, carefully and in detail. Waited another 10 minutes. Got back THE EXACT SAME DRY SAD-WICH with no sweet peppers and no jus. The only thing different was that they'd added a small plastic container of giardiniera. I don't mean to be too harsh on this place. After their second failed attempt, they gave me my money back without too much of an argument (although the manager tried to gaslight me by claiming, "no one else has complained before!" Sure.) But otherwise, the people who run the place seem friendly enough. And the setting, in Lincoln Park near the driving range is absolutely lovely. They just need to take the "Italian Beef" off the menu! This is a very generous two stars for the experience had primarily because I'm assuming it was based on my November arrival. I'm interested to come back during the season for a "redo" so to speak. This was my first time coming here and I've always heard great things. Met two friends for dinner and drinks to enjoy some nice weather. Space was kind of fun, made you feel like you were picnicking in the park with none of the work! The lights from the driving range keep it well lit so you can enjoy even after sunset. After finally flagging down a waiter, he dropped off menus and we were off to the races! Chit chatting about what is good and what we wanted to share, obviously the pizza, we were ready to order. Had to flag down the waiter again and when he asked what we anted, literally EVERYTHING was out of stock since it was the end of the season. Like why didn't he just circle the two things available up front!! Chicken salad and sliders it was...and there was no recover from there. Only one beer and one wine available, minimal napkins and ketchup packets, etc. Honestly such a disappointment even if you came for drinks alone. We were in the area and looking for a place to eat outside and enjoy the weather. I'm not sure if this is the same Bacino's that was in Taste of Chicago years ago, but the name sounds familiar. With inexpensive lawn chairs, worn tables, plastic silverware, and paper plates, my expectations were very low. To my surprise, the food was great! Recommended: * Chicken Salad: large chunks of chicken, onions, celery, grapes, dressing. I've never ordered chicken salad in my life, but it stood out since it was listed on both sides of the menu. So glad we tried it. Both of my kids also liked it. We even ordered another one to go. * Mini Cheeseburgers: really good flavor. We asked for the sriracha mayo on the side; but since it wasn't spicy, we slathered the sauce onto the burgers. The kids also liked these. * Caprese Salad: classic with fresh basil and the perfect amount of dressing *Sausage and Mushroom Pizza: very thin crust, but the pizza is really tasty. It took much longer to get the pizza than it did for our other food. The server told us they have a really small oven, so pizzas take a while. The kids devoured the pizza. Service: Relatively good. It took slightly longer to get our server exactly when we wanted him, but he was handling a lot of tables at once. It's a pleasant surprise when a server remembers our entire order without writing it down. We were the second table he took orders from, so it was even more impressive. The food took 30 minutes for our first dishes to arrive which is a bit long. I don't know they're short staffed or if it's just busier than they can handle for quick orders. The pizza took 60 minutes or longer to arrive. Good thing it was a nice day and my kids were patient. Location and Ambiance: The space felt very safe and almost suburban. It's a nice peaceful spot with nearby street parking and a lot more fresh air than downtown. This place is few steps away the Diversey Driving Range, Mini Golf, and Playground. The nearby birds are cute and chubby, and they fly disturbingly close to people, but we tried our best to ignore them. It would have been nice if someone went around and cleaned bird poop off of chairs and tables, but maybe they are a short staffed like many other establishments. We'll definitely be back. I may consider ordering for pickup in the future since the food takes so long. Though it is nice to enjoy the food outside in that space. read more

Sit at the bar and enjoy the show. The bartenders are great. A few rude patrons would barge up to the bar and nudge you but when sitting at a bar you expect entitle a*#holes or stay home. However, the great bartender quickly moved the entitled patron over out of the way. The service great. IPAs good selection. Wife enjoy her Stiegler. We enjoyed the show. Good drinks great atmosphere great bartenders and servers. Crowd lot of whatevers. read more

My wife and I shared the margarita pizza and BBQ wings with ranch dipping sauce and both were average, but we weren't expecting great food to begin with and came more for the outdoor seating. The atmosphere is awesome for days when the weather cooperates and you can enjoy the outdoor area. When we tried to order they seemed to be out of many of the different items on the menu, but we ended up getting a spicy chicken sandwich with chips. It took 25 minutes for the food to be prepared, so it is not recommended if you need something fast. Once we finally got the food it was surprisingly good. This is such a fun, laid back place we could sit right out on the grass. It's right next to the diversity driving range and mini golf. Was there on Thursday for as short as possible. Had a few minutes to kill so we stopped for a drink. They were very packed - like sardines. I immediately regretted ordering a bottle of wine. Due to how busy it was, it took very long to get it. After each customer left, we noticed they did zero wipe-downs of tables, re-used menus and served countless tables in a row, few waiters had no masks - our's had one but was serving our plastic cups by holding them at the rim (where you drink). No hand sanitize protocol in sight. Sorry- the place is at a nice spot and the food looks good but the few other places I've been to were very good with their COVID protocols. By far the worst dining experience. Very young untrained staff, overpriced drinks that were badly made (who can spoil a vodka tonic? Well, they can) in tiny plastic cups with the wrong fruit. I was in town for Pokemon Go fest and I knew that the Lyft surger prices would have been hella high. When walking around, my friend and I saw the bar while at the park. We had it in the back of our mind to check it out especially that they pour craft beers. It was super slow as it post event but that did not stop the great service that was provided. The seating arrangement was stools at the bar, tables around the area. The restaurant is a sit down establishment, so at the bar you are able order food and beer. We had limited items but I was able to sample the tap beer. I knew drinking always emphasis my hunger, so we order brushetta. It was flavorful ish but it was more like a tomato garlic salad. I wish they provided more than 4 tiny toast points. If I am at Lincoln Park, I would be happy to get a beer as it was reasonably priced. Snacks I might hold off. I have been coming to this Bacino's for years. On this beautiful day my husband and I enjoyed a drink outside. Before leaving I went to the toilet which was the one inside I had always used. A man who I assume is a manager was extremely unfriendly about telling me not to use that toilet. There is a nicer way to communicate to customer as what a jerk. read more

I debated between 4 to 5 stars. 4 as the food is good but nothing spectacular. The service is fine but nothing amazing. I'm sticking with 5 as it's the perfect outdoor very casual hangout spot for dinner. We are, drank, played bags on the perfect Chicago night. We end up here occasionally while we are out on the harbor with our jet skis. Every time the service has been terrible, the waitress never approached our table for a good 15 minutes. I tried calling her over twice and she blantly ignored me. Maybe the first time, you chalk it up to her not hearing but the next couple times and after making direct eye contact with me... its pretty obvious she doesn't want to serve additional tables. I recall the table next to me also experiencing the same dissatisfaction with the service. A guy remarked that he actually forgot they had ordered at this point and can't remember what he ordered. Bacino's Italian Grille recently opened, located across from Diversy Harbor , in Lincoln Park next to the driving range. Customers can sit inside in a small area or on the patio which is opened and great for people watching. In addition on the patio customers can bring their dogs along with them . The dinner menu is small but varied, including : appetizers, salads, paninis and hamburgers, pizza, and gelato. In addition, at the present time they only serve beer and wine. At this time all food is served on paper plates or plastic take out order containers. The waitress explained they are not allowed to have glass in the park. The service was good the staff was very personable, upbeat, and energetic, they tried to please. Unfortunately they had run out of beverages, Diet Coke, and light beer. We were able to go over to the driving range and purchase a bottle of Diet Coke, to have with our meal. For dinner we started with a bruschetta which was good and a Cesar salad. We had individual pizze, with an extra thin crust. The sausage and fresh mushroom, with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce was my favorite. They brought it to the table right out of the oven it was wonderful. Bacino's opens at 9 A.M. and does serve breakfast. It would be enjoyable to sit and watch the boats as they come and from Diversy Harbor during breakfast This is a good place to bring children for lunch since Bacino's is very close to the miniature golf too. At this point I am giving Bacino's 3.5 stars. The food that I had was very good and the staff was excellent. The only problems I had was the fact that they ran out of beverages, and the inconsistence what my meal coming out on I will be sure to come back again to see all the positive improvements. read more

This is the perfect spot on a gorgeous summer day...sitting outside with a craft beer and a sandwich or pizza. The Two Brothers beers are excellent, and there's a good selection of salads, appetizers, sandwiches and pizza. Not fancy at all. The first time we had visited Bacino's was Septemeber 2014. The summer was winding down and the area was quiet. Perfect day for a Domaine Dupage outside. We decided to revisit Bacino's last night and we were smitten by the place! The outdoor garden was completed and looked quite nice. What made our visit, however, was the staff. Because we sat at the bar, we had a great view of the teamwork that was going on. Behind the bar, Bryan helped the server (I think her name was Gabby) get drinks and orders out to the tables without hesitation. The place was busy, and rightfully so. Our bruschetta was so delicious, we ordered another when we finished the first! All around, Bacino's is a great location for some Classic Italian grub and champion service. Place is great for hanging out on a nice day and relaxing out in a big outdoor grassed space with your friends, girlfriend(s), dogs, and or kids/family. They've got a really good big beer selection, and we're definitely going back to try more of their food because it's also the same. Hakim helped us out with everything and showed us a great time!
