I have probably done about 50 escape rooms (including the Escobar room at The Escape Revolution), but I think the Armored Car room is perhaps one of my least favorite we've ever done. I love a challenging room, but this one felt frustratingly organized in a not fun way. There was really no context or story or puzzles that fit together to create a path to a solution that made sense. Some of the challenges were honestly ridiculous - again in a not fun way. I dont want to be specific because I dont want to spoil for others but I feel like this room really needs another look. There are several combo locks, but no true puzzles and an extremely thin idea of how the whole thing worked together. In addition, if you were short you couldnt see some of the challenges and if you were too tall you also couldnt see some of them. I just did not enjoy this experience at all and its too bad because we loved the Escobar room - it was very challenging! - but this one just felt like it wasnt well thought out at all and as far as escape rooms go, TER is expensive. But this one really put me off returning here. read more

We did the Chernobyl Disaster escape room as a group of 7. Super fun room with very unique puzzles that we had never seen before. Everyone in our group liked it and thought it was a very immersive experience. Having 7 people in the room did seem to be a bit too many people as a lot of the time it felt like half the group was just standing around waiting. As for booking the room: When we made the reservation online, they had a special where if it was someone's birthday month, they would play for free. We had a birthday person in our group but it was confusing how we should have reserved the room. We ended up reserving for 7 people online and they said the only option was to give us a one player free coupon for next visit (which was fine as this is a super generous deal already!). But for those who may also be confused, make sure to book the room for everyone minus the birthday person. Overall, great experience, super friendly staff, definitely will be back! read more

After almost 4 years I decided to return with a group of friends. We decided to do the Wrongfully Accused room. The hostess who greeted us was really friendly, accommodating and welcoming. We arrived 15 minutes early and had our briefing and we led to the room. The theming was amazing of course. After having done many escape rooms I have to say that the rooms offered here are my favorite type. Just fun and engaging to do with friends. We were able to finish and had a few minutes to spare. We booked this room originally for two with a promo code. I had a friend want to play last minute and they paid on the spot but were overcharged. We didn't figure it out until we left. We called back and after some back and forth, they refunded us. If you book during the day and not on peak times, it costs less. If you look for the like green or pink times on their website, those are the lower prices/discounted times. They have a small lot for parking in the back of their building but we had to call for them to remove the chain that was blocking people from just driving up and parking there. read more

We went to Escape Revolution on Melrose last night and did the Pablo Escobar: Part One room it was SO much fun. There were four of us, and I loved that the rooms are private so it's just your group. Everything was super clean and really well done. They warned us this one was one of their harder escape rooms, and honestly at first we didn't believe them... but it definitely got tricky Still, it was such a blast trying to solve everything together. Our game director was super sweet, and Rory was awesome whenever we needed a little help. We're already planning to go back for Part Two! We had such a great time here! This was my partner and I first escape room. We did the armored truck heist. It's pretty challenging, but our game master, Soph, was awesome and very friendly and helpful with the clues. It was only the two of us, no other players were added, which we liked. This was so fun! We came for my bridal shower and had a blast! We've never done an escape before and so we went in excited and weren't let down. We did the Pablo Escabor one and our game master, I believe her name was Alexia, was so helpful. She got us through the game with like 5 seconds to spare and her clues really made such a big difference. Having done just over 30 escape rooms, I can say the production value here is pretty awesome, we did the Armored Vehicle Heist. Gamemaster, Quinn, was also a 10/10 for customer service (friendly, upbeat, responsive, attentive), and she also got us an earlier game time than originally scheduled. Only issue was my partner was injured during the game, coming down pretty hard on a sharp edge of the truck while getting out of the vehicle leaving a pretty good cut and bruising. Quinn was paying close attention and quickly came on the intercom and asked if anyone was injured or needed assistance. We requested first aid once we realized the cut was worse than we thought. (We love you Quinn! Thank you for watching out for us!). After getting patched up, my partner wanted to stick out the rest of the game since the room was pricey and we ended up escaping. I will say I am a little surprised I did not receive a phone call/email from the owner or some sort of discount/refund on the room in the following days. I have never heard of injuries happening from an escape room unless there was gross negligence involved. They have most likely removed that piece of the vehicle since then after reviewing the surveillance footage. Overall, they are worth checking out if you are into escape games with top tier set design. read more

me and my boyfriend did escobar part 1 and it was super fun!! we've done quite a number of rooms before so we were really hoping to solve this one but we ended up solving roughly 80% which is pretty good considering it was only the two of us for a room best experienced by 4 people - Mykael was super helpful with the hints though! I think if we had 90 minutes instead of 60 we could've solved it, but regardless this was definitely the most impressive room we've ever done, definitely worthwhile. read more

Had such a great experience! Parking - one of the best things is that they have a parking spot for you! They will provide a number for you to call and it's right behind the building. We arrived a little early (to account for traffic) and they were so nice about it. We did the Prison room and had an excellent game master. Don't want to give anything away but great puzzles and super fun. We were a couple and were able to solve so don't be intimidated to try if you are a party of two. Updating my review: While my initial experience (see below) was frustrating, Maddy who is the manager at Escape Revolution reached out immediately within 24 hours via email and phone to make it right. She did mention that it is not the policy to end a game early and she spoke with her team to ensure all teams receive their full time. She was super friendly, understanding, and went above and beyond to make the situation right. I really appreciated the great customer service and quick reaction to rectify the situation! Thanks again. While Escobar Part 2 may not be our fav, we did like Escobar Part 1! ------------------- Prior review: Came here for the Escobar Part 2 room. I'll start by saying 2 out of 3 of us arrived on time and unfortunately our 3rd person was about 12 mins late. We were told 8 or so minutes into our reservation that our time actually started at 8pm sharp for the room and no grace period is allotted. That was a first - usually rooms have anywhere from 5-15 mins grace period and have enough time between rooms to allow for a little cushion. After all, the parking around the room is tough and there is 1 spot per team in the parking out back so our 3rd had a hard time finding street parking. After receiving the intro, we had about 42 mins left in the room. The room itself was okay. While the build was really cool, we found the puzzles to be things that didn't naturally make sense and some are things we would have never thought to do because they were so out there (we've done around 60 escape rooms prior to this one). Nearing the end of the room, we had about 5 mins left and we got notified that our time was up. I asked out loud why we didn't get the full time to the top of the hour and got no answer. When the game master came into our room to grab us, I asked again. She said she ended the game early because the next part would have taken about 10 minutes and she knew we wouldn't have made it out in time. That was extremely frustrating. Even if she knew we wouldn't finish, we could have at least seen more of the room and regardless, I've never had a game master end a game EARLY for any reason at all - especially for the prices they charge here. She also said that they need time to reset the rooms since they were all booked up all night so we had to end so she had time to reset. I checked the website and the 2 time slots directly after us were still open at 9:30pm and 11pm. So we got pulled out early for no reason at all. At every other room we've been to, if the game after is not booked the game master is a little flexible to ensure you finish the room and have fun. Because of that, the experience left us feeling a bit jipped. read more

I think I committed a crime! To survive Escobar's rage, we were forced to perform some unforgivable tasks. The Escape Revolution did us really good immersing us through a series of puzzles. I've experienced similar puzzles but there were some I've never done in an escape room. It wasn't hard but you really have to think out loud and discuss with your team. A member of our group had experience in a certain profession so we breezed through that "task". We had 80 mins to find Escobars stash and fake passports before the DEA arrived. We made it out with plenty of time. There wasn't too many puzzles to solve but some of them needed a bit of time. Don't rush a cake, let it bake! We were also 10 mins late coming in. This wasn't hard to find, even though it's a dark building. Just look for the neon lights! And it sits on Melrose. Parking is located out back. Be careful not to hit the pole. Inside was really dark, except for more neon lights. I thought, is this an adult only establishment?! We met our Game Master who was super cool and passionate about escape rooms. We were pretty late but we didn't feel rushed. After we escaped he offered us drinks. He also offered us the midnight slot of their other ER Wrongfully Convicted, but we had to decline because some of us had an early morning. While we were pulling out of our parking spots, our Game Master stayed outside to make sure we don't add any dings to our cars. Be careful not to hit the pole. They weren't kidding when they said their mission is to revolutionize escape rooms! We played Escobar and I have to say that this place is delightfully immersive. Very good set dressing and sound design but some of the things you get to do during the course of solving the puzzles is pretty dang cool. Really gives you an idea of why this room costs a little more than most and my group had a blast when we realized we also had time to just play. Originally this room was more expensive at 90 min but now the price and length are just right. They have two parking spots per group behind the building. Our gamemaster Tori was super nice and asked our group our hint preference and time check preferences which I thought was a nice touch. Also afterwards we were given some sodas to celebrate with. Came back for more today and brought our husbands. We had the BEST time! They did Escobar since we did last visit, and then all four of us did armored vehicle heist. It was incredible. My partner and I did the Wrongfully Convicted room and had a blast! We usually opt for 60 out or Mazerooms but decided to try something new. Escape Revolution was way more hands on and immersive in my opinion and definitely a great option if you're a little bored of the run of the mill escape rooms with just some mental puzzles. Our game master Kai(?) was great! We asked not to get any hints or suggestions if we didn't ask and he did a great job of just watching and not helping until we explicitly asked for it. We all loved the rooms; definitely different from any other escape rooms we've done through the years. This is by far our favorite place!! And our family & friends agree!!
