It was a good thing the food and waitress were amazing because the experience started out terribly with the hostess. Was not polite in the slightest. For starters she didn't even walk us to our table, just pointed at it. As we approached the table, we noticed there was water on the table and a couple of the chairs. I walked up to her and asked if we could get it wiped off. She proceeded to hand me a rag and said "when you're done give it to the bar" and walked away instead of wiping it down herself. However, it's been many months since my last visit and I was amazed at the poor quality of food. Menu says burgers are cooked medium. Mine was well done and dry to the point where I had to send it back. $15 for a dry burger? No thanks. Fried pickles? They were whole spears!!! Guess no one has ever visited the south where sliced pickles rule y'all. The ones I ordered were old and tough not crisp and crunchy. And when I ordered a diet cola I received an RC Cola. I'm diabetic so after I drank 1/2 the can I looked an realized it was loaded with sugar. Not cool. I don't know if there's been a change in ownership or management but it's not the same as before. 1st time at Backslope Brewing...highly recommend. The food was phenomenal & the service was great. Thanks Michelle! We had Black Velvet BBQ Sandwich. It's pulled pork with their homemade BBQ sauce with slaw on a bun. On the side, we ordered their Garlic Parmesan Fries...oh my word! Delish! A must to try. In addition, we ordered the Bulgogi Bowl made with tender Bulgogi grilled flat-iron steak, slaw, rice, and over-easy fried egg. For dessert, I couldn't pass up their homemade Key Lime Pie in a small mason jar topped with homemade whipping cream. Yum! The perfect ending. The buttered chicken tasted good but was a tiny portion for $16. The lamb is the worst lamb my husband has ever had his whole life. Dry Brittle and burnt. the patty was as thick as a Wendy's burger and barely larger than a half dollar coin. The garlic fries were good but barely lukewarm. We requested ranch and were given ketchup. ---all of this after waiting an 1.25 hrs for food. We were not notified of the wait. Every table around us received service from 3 servers while we were ignored the entire wait. We were not offered refills on drinks etc. the waitress didn't bother to check in at all. After an hour of waiting we tried to politely get her attention with a wave and a smile to inquire about our order etc. - upon making eye contact with me and my husband she ducked her head and ignored us to the point my husband had to stand up and address her politely. --she again tried to walk away before he started to talk. Then magically our food was ready immediately. Mediocre food cold, overcooked, and terrible service. We will not be coming back. read more

This has to be the best place in town. The beer was delicious. I had an ale aged in tequila barrels and a double IPA that were both really great. The wait staff was friendly and helpful especially considering how busy they were. For a Monday night at closing the place was packed but they got us in and out fast. Not big enough for most guys. I got the parmasean fries to to start. They were rustic and good. There are 10 different sauces you can order to go with them, but they each cost $1. $7 fries and then $1 sauces. I don't know..... They weren't nearly as good as 406's Garlic and Parmesan Fries. I think I should have ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich. But I wasn't really into a sandwich. All that's served here are rice bowls and sandwiches..I think if I had come here for just small plates and beer I would have been super happy, but for dinner...I wouldn't recommend. $80 for 3 people...and my brother was still hungry...... read more

This place is great!! They keep everyone safe during the pandemic with the tables 6ft apart and have plastic dividers too. They don't make diners with shots wear masks into the restaurant. I drink cider and not beer but they did have a beer that was close. My kids enjoyed the ginger lemonade made here. We didn't go here last night due to menus on Yelp showing pizza and we didn't want pizza. Wished we had because Three Forks was ok but not as good as BackSlope brewery!! We tried bistro burger, Parmesan cheese fries, fried pickles and pulled pork sandwich- highly recommend them all. Next time we come through to see Glacier, we're coming back here! read more

After going white water rafting our large party of 7 wanted some beers and some burgers. When we got to the brewery we stood awkwardly in the doorway for a few minutes before someone yelled out "Take a seat wherever, if you can find one!" the place was crowded but not full, and they only had one table that would be able to accommodate our party. Luckily the nice people sitting there moved to a smaller table so we were able to sit down. Then we waited. You fill your own water. You get your own silverware. We didn't have menus. The waitress came to take our beer orders, and there were only 3 to choose from. She said she would get our drinks and come back with menus- like we weren't able to look at the menus until our drinks came... okay? She came back with drinks and asked if we were ready to order... we still hadn't received menus. "Oh, duh" she said and brought us menus. This whole process took 30 minutes and we were starving. I got the fried chicken sandwich which was good, but covered in too much sauce. My husband weirdly ordered red beans and rice, which was not good. They thicken it with mayo and it lacked any smokey flavor or creole seasoning. The beers were okay, but by the time we were ready for round 2, they only had two beers to choose from, so everyone stuck with one drink each. It was a slow, pretty underwhelming experience. We waited for over 45 minutes after we put our order in and after we ordered our beer. No other waitstaff came to check on us or ask about our order. Love the food and flavor profiles. IPA is solid but the strong Pale Ale was my fave. Both beers had a great finish but the Ale was more aromatic and smooth at the finish. We had a chipped taster glass that the waitress didn't seem to care about and additional dips were $1 which I thought was a bit much since we all bought a main course. Fried chicken sandwich was tasty and the lamb and couscous was very good. Parmesan fries were also flavorful but not cooked consistently...some were fried well, others...no color at all. I felt that charging a $1 for a sticker when we stamped our Brewery Passport was not cool...but I guess businesses have to support themselves. read more

Stopped on a whim driving back to camp. Food smelled good but we were there for a beer. Great location, tight parking, and sadly - utterly indifferent service. Wait staff breezed by as we waited to be seated and mumbled "hostess in a minute". Hostess asked how many (2) and said "it'll be a 30-35 minute wait". We asked about sitting outside. "That's only for drinks." ... conveniently, you're a brewery and we came in *for a drink*. Bartender could barely mumble a hello. Glassware was not beer-clean. Sloppy pours and didn't make an effort to wipe off the spill. We paid and closed our tab, enjoyed our beer - the only saving grace here is that the beer was actually very good - and left. Advice: drive a few more miles and stop at Sacred Waters in Kalispell. read more
