    Naked Wings

The name is perfect and this place is pretty cool. The menu is bar and grill food to a tee. Were were impressed they had cauliflower crust pizza. It's pretty good too. My wife loved the naked wings and they were presented beautifully. The server was attentive and had a good sense of humor. We felt welcome even though we probably didn't look like locals. There are lots of big TV's for watching the big game. I like this place and we'll be back as we pass through often.

While glamping up in Payson, we came into town for my birthday meal. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was awesome! My boyfriend got the fish n chips and also really enjoyed it. Servers were friendly and they allow dogs on the patio which was perfect for our pup! They have a bar inside, indoor seating, and a large outdoor patio. The chicken sandwich hit the spot after a weekend of camping meals.

Decent menu, acceptable prices. Disappointed we couldn't substitute an item on the appetizer sampler. Server, Harmony, was very pleasant and attentive. Very sports bar environment but at least the 8 tvs' sound was off.

    Dirty verde

Man this Dirty Verde is one of the top 5 burgers for me. The flavor was unbelievable. I have never tasted anything like it. The peppers on it make it taste like there is actually chili on your burger. We split it but it was soooooo good. The BBQ sauce (I'm not a BBQ gal) was delicious I was worried with the low reviews but we travel and eat a lot and it was good. I'll go back for sure. Ohhhh ONLY NEGATIVE pretty much everything is fried. We have been trying to eat better. Not really healthy choices here. A few salads

The food is good. The service is usually better. Apparently they have the best hamburgers in Payson, but I have not had the burger yet, next time

This was my 2nd time at backwoods. We came back because we loved the food and the drink specials were good (and well made). The server was friendly and attentive. It's nothing fancy but you can tell it is a locals favorite place to go. Old, young, motorcycle lovers, to housewife's ... all crowds welcome which made for a fun atmosphere. If you are looking for a quick drink and great bite to eat I recommend

Stopped in looking for a meatball sub but it's no longer available so I went with the H&H Burger (bacon, BBQ sauce, crispy onions) which was very good and substantial - but messy to eat. My only regret was that I didn't slice it in half before eating to make it easier to handle. Steak fries were good. I sat out on the patio which was comfortable in the evening but is on the south side of the building so it'll get some sun. It does have both covered and uncovered tables. Service was fast and attentive, I was seated by my waiter, food came out quickly, etc. Beyond the burger I got a recommendation for the ACL Melt, so I may try that in the next few days while I'm in town.

We both had sunny side up eggs, bacon, hash browns, corned beef hash, delicious fluffy pancakes and bottomless coffee. Everything was piping hot and delicious. They also have a full menu for lunch and dinner. The burgers served at the table next to us looked awesome. This place reminded us of a typical diner back east in New Jersey: happy servers, plentiful and delicious hot and fresh food, great coffee and fresh baked home made pie. So if you find yourself in Payson and need a great meal with a family friendly vibe, go to Crosswinds. They have plenty of free parking too.

We arrived around 7:30am, which was right before it started getting busy. The view is pretty cool. The restaurant is overlooking the runway. After checking in at the front, we were given a table within minutes. Then, our waitress came up and asked us what we wanted to drink. Eventually, we decided what to order and she came back to take our order. The food didn't take long--I'd say about 15 minutes. The food was delicious, to say the least. We both ordered a Western Omelette and shared an order of French Toast. I also took an apple pie and some other baked goods back home with me. The pie was also delicious! The only reason for my 4 stars is because of the service. Some of the employees seemed annoyed to be there and help us. While I understand that the restaurant was busy, you should still maintain composure and try to remain calm under stress. Having worked at a restaurant, I understand the feeling, but you can't let it get to you. Other than that, great little restaurant. I'd come here again.

We ordered a double smash burger with bacon (an extra $2 charge) along with tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The burger arrived with no bacon and none of the listed veggies. We also ordered a triple smash burger with cheddar cheese and tomatoes, lettuce, and onion -- again, none of the veggies were included. We also ordered a mashed potato bowl with chicken, corn, and brown gravy, but there was no brown gravy in it at all. Even though a lot of our order was missing, I will say the food itself still tasted good. The biggest issue, however, was the customer service. The young girl working there, who looked to be around 16 years old, was extremely rude and snotty. When I asked for plastic utensils, she replied, "We do not have any." I asked how we were supposed to eat mashed potatoes and gravy without utensils, and she shrugged and said, "Ma'am, we are a bar, we do not have it." I responded that I've ordered takeout from many bars before and they always provide plastic utensils. She then sarcastically replied, "Good for you, have a nice day." I tried speaking with who I believed was the manager (he nodded when I asked if he was), and while I was explaining the issue, the young employee continued interrupting and talking over me. Another waitress overheard the conversation and quickly returned with plastic utensils, proving they did in fact have them available. The employee then changed her story, saying she "didn't know" if they had utensils and claimed she was super sweet to me(not rude). There is no reason an employee should be speaking to customers this way. She clearly needs additional customer service training before handling customer interactions on her own.
