The brisket, I wish that I had specified that we wanted moist fatty, as I think that we were just given the leaner cut of the meat, but regardless still good! Poblano jack sausage was cheesy and tasty as well! After you order your meat, you order your sides, and I really liked the potato salad and mac. Both were great! Onions, pickles, and bread were all complimentary, and you could get as much as you wanted. I also greatly preferred the spicy bbq sauce than their normal. The interior of the restaruant is homey and country-style. Also loved their selection of sweet teas and sodas! Glad that this place is so close to home!

The brisket with eggs, cheese and potatoes is savory and has a perfect touch of smoke. The brisket is solid, and the pork fits quite nicely. This is not a Millers or Franklins Brisket but it is tasty and equivalent to Rudy's BBQ at a really reasonable price. The place is clean and comfortable.

My twin nieces graduated 6/4/15 from Belton HS on Thursday. On Friday we went here for BBQ. I was SHOCKED at how good the BBQ was and I loved the onion rings. I am from Austin and the Salt Lick and Franklins don't beat these guys at all. I am afraid they are getting ready to become very popular....the meats are so tender and I love their home made BBQ sauce. I had to bring home 6 lbs. of meat. The smoked chicken is to die for. The ribs are better than any I have EVER had. Fall off the bone. Better than Lockhart/Luling/Llano/Taylor/Elgin....sorry, but it is true. They have the best fried pickles ( I have had many of these at other restaurants....but nothing like this) You will thank me so much for telling you this. I have also contacted triple D, because I know they will love it.....just hope they come!!!!! read more

Backyard BBQ meat holds it's own compared to any other joint in Central Texas, but stands alone when it comes to the sauce. The employee called me an inappropriate name and threw my food toward my vehicle, causing it to fall on the ground. I went inside to address the situation and try to understand what happened, but instead of receiving an apology or having the issue handled professionally, the situation was dismissed. I contacted management hoping they would take the complaint seriously, but I felt my concerns were ignored and the employee's behavior was defended. The situation escalated to the point where the police were contacted, even though I never threatened anyone or acted aggressively. A customer should never be treated this way, regardless of the circumstances. I expected basic respect and professionalism, but unfortunately that was not my experience. I will not be returning and hope management takes this feedback seriously.
