I would give this 5 but they are pricey. The food was great and had to be for the money. Breakfast was good and the staff was attentive. I bet this is a fun evening place for food and drinks. Although we've been to the midtown OC location many times, this was probably the best Bad Monkey experience we have ever had. It's an 80-degree Saturday on Cruisin' Weekend, so we were told we'd have a 45-minute to an hour wait when we arrived at 10 a.m. The wait was exactly 45 minutes. Service was prompt and our food arrived within 10 minutes after ordering. I had the jumbo lump crab and provolone omelette and my husband had the Man-Up breakfast bowl. Both meals were excellent and my husband said he will order that bowl every time from now on (and ask for more pepperjack cheese). They have the best tasting home fries, crisp bacon, homemade toast, and delicious coffee. It's the perfect beach breakfast. read more

I like it here. The coffee is really good, which can be a deal breaker for me. My daughter and I split a buffalo chicken cheesesteak wrap, it was delicious! Kettle chips were fresh. Went for the first time today and it was wonderful! Was seated immediately. Our server was great. We got the "lord of the fries" appetizer and a cheesesteak. It was my husband's 30th and I had a scavenger hunt going throughout the day with clues to the next thing. Went here for dinner last night. The fried banana peppers were amazing! I had a burger that was just a burger. They have a waffles for breakfast that includes 3 small waffles and a small bowl of fruit. Although good not worth the $16. It took a very long time to get our food and one order was completely wrong. They remade it but by the time it was brought to the table the rest of us were finished so we made it to go. We love the Bad Monkey, we've only ever visited the OC location, but the day we went was raining and there was over and hour wait. We came into OC on Route 50 and I happened to notice the new location in West OC, so we called and they said there was no wait. We drive right over, we're seated promptly. Put our name on the wait list. When we received the text our table was ready, we went upstairs. Took us three minutes to get to the dining room, waited another three minutes or so to talk to the hostess. She claimed they texted us once(we never received it) thirteen minutes before the second text. Since we weren't they within 14 minutes from the first text they gave our table away. The only option they offered was for us to go to the bottom of the list and receive some unspecified compensation for the mix up. We are now having breakfast at an ihop. I would give this bad monkey four stars mainly because of the views and the variety of beers and drinks. Also their best items so far for me are the wings and the tacos. Would've liked to give a review on the actual food here but the hostess told us there was a 30 minute wait, which we were absolutely fine with, so we went back to the car and waited for the text that our table is ready. There was no space in the waiting area on the second floor. When they texted we were up we high tailed it up the steps. By the time we got our kids out of the car and up the stairs they had given our table away. The hostess said she could only hold the table for five minutes to be fair to the other waiting (also totally reasonable as a policy), but I showed her the first text I received was only four minutes ago (again, hauling two kids up to the second story). She said "oh, well I already sat the other group so... do you still want to wait or something?" Nope, not today and probably not in the future. That wasn't cool. read more

Fun, casual atmosphere. Really enjoyed the food and drink collection. We ordered the chicken sandwich and Caprese sub, with the star being the Mayo pesto. Staff was attentive even though there was a constant stream of customers coming in. Only thing that was a bit off putting to us was that there is 1 hour gap between breakfast and lunch. (Would have liked to see this advertised more widely on social media and the website.) When we went during this time around 12:45pm, they only had a "switch menu" with limited options. After our terrible experience at lunch yesterday, I can not let my 5 star review stand. I can deal with problems. In fact, I have been quite generous during this terrible time and try to only leave reviews of our positive outings. But what I can not forgive is a snippy, nasty, uncaring waitress. We sat for almost an hour while we watched others who came in way after we did receive their food. My attempts to flag down our waitress- who went past up about 10 times- went ignored. Finally I had to get up, put my mask on and literally block her on her way back into the kitchen to ask what was holding up our food. Hit up bad Monkey for breakfast during Jeep week in OCean City, MD. The food was great, the servers outstanding and the atmosphere fun! We heard it was the best place for breakfast, it was definitely the best place we ate on our 4 day trip. We went during the pandemic lockdown and they took all the standard precautions you would expect. Everyone was wearing masks your food is t touch by un gloved hands. So bonus points for that. Just like the other location the monkey bread was fresh and delicious, my omelette was perfect and the coffee was amazing! The service was excellent and the nice woman in the gift shop entertained my daughter while we browsed. They didn't even charge us when my wife accidentally dropped and broke a coffee mug. HAIR IN FOOD - Food was very expensive and finding your way in was hard enough. Saw several people go in the wrong way due to there being no signage. It is a very small area upstairs, when somebody was seated next to us it felt like we were on a double date with strangers. Ended up finding a hair in our food the server seemed very unimpressed and did not say much to us after that and was not at all apologetic. They comped us but still, poor customer service. read more
