Bad Monkey was AWESOME ! We called ahead for our party of 7 for breakfast and with the wait being minimal we headed over. Plenty of parking, and cool place from the outside also, much cool art and landscaping. The restaurant itself was bright and open. We had a great server who went over the menu and made great drink selections. THE MONKEY BREAD was to DIE for. That could have very well been the entire post. We did get breakfast, waffles, potatoes, bacon, pancakes etc... Did I mention the monkey bread ? I could have really had a few drinks, bread, and lived happily ever after. THe kids enjoyed the food so that was great. Also must note was great having quality food after boardwalk eating for a few days straight. Totally recommend ! read more

I give this place 3.5 stars. Came here on a Saturday morning, we were greeted with smiles and the wait was less than 10 minutes. The Workers must wear mask and those dinning do not. Some people still wore them as they walked to their table. The waiter was attentive and food came out in decent time. You get complimentary warm monkey bread with cinnamon and sugar. The upstairs outdoor seating offers a nice view. The breakfast potatoes were over seasoned and I didn't care for the toast, it's a slice of thick bread. Go for their clever merchandising, stay for their good food. Pros: Their patty melt was delicious, and the shoestring truffle fries were tasty. Portions were nice. Serve breakfast, too. Bread made on-site. Cons: Odd setup, with two sets of stairs going upstairs to the restaurant, and just as much real estate spent on selling their merch. My husband and I went to the Ocean City Boat Show this past weekend. We stopped by Bad Monkey Saturday 2/17 around 6:30PM for dinner. We had never been here before. We both had different burgers. The food was fine. The problem was the service. We were sitting in the corner table right by the window. I wish I could remember our server's name. He had blondish hair and wore glasses. He greeted us promptly took our order and brought our drinks. That was the last time we saw him. He NEVER checked back to see if our food was ok. NEVER check in to see if we needed a refill, NOTHING. We were finally able to flag him down to bring us extra napkins which he dropped on our table and left. We also had to flag him down for our bill. We live in Millsboro Delaware. I have to say that standards for service must be different in the Sussex County beach area. We have NEVER had bad service in the Sussex County beach area restaurants. I guess good service just doesn't matter in Ocean City. Needless to say, we won't be going back to Bad Monkey anytime soon. We 'll stick to Delaware restaurants! read more

Our waitress was great but the "greeter" was a supreme jerk. When we walked in I asked if we could get a seat outside as I was talking he decides to interrupt me and start explaining that dogs are not allowed for indoor seating. I then told him I knew because we just called and he then interrupted me again to tell me not to interrupt him. For someone who apparently has an issue being interrupted he sure was able to interrupt me. I haven't left a review in a very long time because I don't find most experiences are worth it - until this morning. I have been coming to OC for many years and have never been to Bad Monkey and, man, I have missed out! First off, they serve you monkey bread to start (which speaks to my eat dessert first mentality quite well) and then they have a dish called the redneck monkey. Even my mom asked me "did you read that?" to which I said "that's me!" because I was not going to be able to decide between the chipped beef or something else. Combining eggs in a basket AND chipped beef?! GENIUS!! To make it even better, which I didn't know either, they make their own bread fresh every morning. Ho-ly mo-ly was that delicious! Heard from friends great place for breakfast so tried it out. A bit disappointed. Need to get there when they open or plan on waiting. It was already crowded when we got there at opening. Packed and long line outside when we left 40 minutes later. Parking lot filled and set up makes it difficult to get in and out. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. Free monkey bread is a nice touch. I was looking forward to the cinnamon pancakes, but disappointing. Overcooked dark and dry. Turkey sausage also dry. Needed extra butter and syrup. Scrambled eggs also over cooked. Fruit cup pineappple was not ripe and blackberrys over ripe. Wish I had ordered the French toast or the waffles which looked good. I had high hopes but the Bad Monkey was not clean, especially the rest rooms, the whole farm breakfast entree was mostly a plate of potatoes with hardly any eggs or toppings that would make it interesting. This place was great! The food was yummy. We ordered the Nutella and banana for my daughter, plain pancakes for my son, the funky monkey for myself and I can't remember the name of what my husband got. It was great food. My order came with scrambled eggs, potatoes, toast, sausage and a pancake. Everything was great. I didn't leave a single thing. Their cold brew coffee was delish. Definitely recommend!!!! Another excellent meal at Bad Monkey. We love the West OC location. Their Happy Hour is one of the best. Madison was an amazing server, very attentive. She made sure to stop by for a drink order right before Happy Hour ended. They have some great new menu items like jalapeño popper burger and cheese steak egg rolls. Although they are not on the HH deal, they have some great seasonal drink specials....like Purple Rain. The weather was cloudy and rainy but there is always a nice view of the marina. It can be a bit noisy, but is a fun and vibrant place. I wish our burgers came out a bit later as we still had apps left when they arrived. We always go to Bad Monkey on our trips and have a great time. This was no exception. We are looking forward to going back again this week for breakfast and HH. I will be asking for Madison as she is my new favorite server and a great server amplifies an already good experience. I read more

GREAT breakfast! We ate at a little before 10 on a Thursday, and while we were seated right away it got super-busy shortly after. Our server was great and the food was delicious. They made a mistake with one of our orders (because my weirdo kid didn't want Nutella on his French toast--is he even my child? Haha), but they got it fixed in literally like 2 minutes. The bananas foster crepes could have used a bit more filling, imo, but were SO yummy nonetheless. The staff was all masked up and the place (including bathrooms) looked very clean. There is a bit of a view of the water if you look in the right place. There is a shop downstairs that was closed, which was a bit of a bummer because I wanted to buy a coffee mug. Oh well. Classic food with great service and good drink deals. My party was quite large but they were very accommodating, the service was scattered at first and they were confused on tables and servers but we also didn't call beforehand with a large party. The prices were a little high for the quality of food because it was typical American food. I recommend going during happy hour because the drinks are 2 for 1 and they are quality drinks and not week. The food did come out very fast and my burger was cooked how I asked. I finally made it over to the Bad Monkey. I'll say it was interesting. I'll start with the lead up to the visit first. I called ahead of time to see if they did breakfast in the afternoon. Their answering machine says they do breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. I let them know about that when I tried to order breakfast and they said the message needs to be changed. On the food side, the burger and fish tacos were ok. The burger seemed middle of the road in taste, and I think that had more to do with the supplier. The taco wasn't bad. I would simply add more spice to it. read more
