Literally BEST cookies ever! I got chocolate chip. I knew this would be my absolutely favorite after the first bite! It's thin, slight chewy, the perfect texture, and most importantly not overwhelmingly sweet like that famous cookie chain... it's perfect in every way and I don't get sick after the few bites which is dangerous... I went here with my friends to try this place because of a friend's recommendation. As soon as we got to the door, there was a long line and lots of people waiting for their food but our order came out pretty quickly. Came here for a matcha latte because I needed a quick pick me up. I browsed their selection of baked goods and picked up a matcha cinnamon roll. The matcha latte was solid, but a bit pricey for how much they give. The matcha cinnamon roll was pretty good and not too sweet. I would get it again. The space is pretty small and kept clean. I heard about this place while in line at Salted Butter from a couple and they said the cinnys were touted to be the best. So, I made my way over to check out the hype. Let me start off with parking. You can snag a spot on the street, you just may need to drive around a couple of times. I parked off Garfield and Union, cars were constantly coming and going. Parking is run through the Passport app. Be prepared to wait in line for your goodies. I waited 50 mins. Once you enter the very small establishment, scan what looks good because where you place your order is past the display area. There is very limited seating both inside and out so just plan to take your haul to go. I got an original cinny, a red velvet cinny (available only on 2/14), and an original brownie. I also purchased a coffee cake but that was for my neighbor so I can't review it. Let's start off with the cinnys, which were still slightly warm when I got home. They were soft and pillowy, the red velvet one was more cake-like. I preferred the original over the red velvet one, which was basically flavorless in my opinion. The cinnys were nothing special in my opinion and while the one sold by Salted Butter is a croissant version of a cinny, it's still superior to Badash's version. The brownie is decadent and was better than the cinnys. The star of the show, however, was the sweet potato latte. What an innovative latte. I've never seen something like this at any coffeehouse and it did not disappoint. It literally tasted like having a sweet potato pie! It was not overly sweet and it paired well with oatmilk. Sadly, this is a limited time item. I'm all about trying new places and now I can cross this place off my list. I will not be returning for pastries unless a new item catches my eye until next year if they bring back the sweet potato latte. I would have rated this place a 3 but the latte elevated my rating. You can find street parking if lucky or garage parking but you'll have to pay. Came on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. You order first at the counter and they pack your order after. The options are nice with unique and traditional flavors. The cookies are good but not mind blowing, pretty sweet. My favorite item was definitely the banana pudding though. I have been following Ash on TikTok before she opened the bakery so I was all too excited to check it out. They offer an array of cookies as well as coffee and cinnamon rolls. We tried the regular cinnamon roll as well as chocolate chip toffee cookie and everything was delicious. The service was great and they were patient and friendly. The main thing I wanted to get, I froze and forgot about... the cinnamon roll. I ended up getting the cinnamon roll latte though and it was very tasty. I did get the cookies but didn't eat them until like three days later so they may have been a bit stale. That's on me. I also got the brownie and I ate that the next day, but it was quite decadent. I split it with my mom and cousin. I got my mom the banana bread and she said it was very tasty. She said it was moist as it had huge pieces of bananas. Atmosphere is very busy but friendly at the same time. There was a line to get in but they move at a decent pace. There were a lot of options, and I was lured in by the Cinnamon Roll Latte and the Cinnamon Roll itself. Both, very good! If you come here you have to get their cookies. The smores and toffee chocolate chip cookies are some of the best cookies I've ever had. They're perfectly chewy and have crispy edges. The size is great as well. I think one cookie is a perfect serving. It is the best sweet treat to have in the Pasadena area. Due to limited hours and schedule conflicts I finally gotto try Badash Bakes. I saw this business and its owner on the news if I recall. I was drawn to the business loving bakeries and loving many things matcha. If you love matcha and don't mind the occasional splurge on premium baked goods I think you will like this place. They have matcha cinnamon roles which is something I recommend getting, brownies, cookies and of course matcha lattes . I really loved the matcha blonde which was a stand out item for sure. All the baked goods were soft, chewy and sweet. I had a red velvet cookie which was good also. I spent around 17 dollars for, cinnamon role, cookie and blonde. I drove a mighty long way just to finally try the famous Badash Bakes, and let me tell you--it was worth every mile. First things first: parking is definitely a challenge. My advice is to bring a co-pilot--one person can circle for parking while the other goes inside to place the order. By the time I found a spot, the shop was literally about to close in two minutes. Even so, the owner warmly welcomed me inside, complimented my outfit (which I had only dressed up for this visit, of course!), and made me feel right at home. The staff was beyond kind--despite closing, they let me take my time and even offered that I could stay and enjoy my treats inside. Out of respect, I chose to sit outside in the fresh air while they finished closing up. And here's the kicker--while I was enjoying my desserts, another customer showed up late, and the owner graciously let her in, too. That spoke volumes about their customer service. As for the desserts? Absolutely worth the hype. Fresh, flavorful, and crafted with love--you can taste the passion in every bite. Badash Bakes is more than just a bakery; it's an experience. Look, this place is amazing!!! I would love to come here everyday if I could afford it. I get that they are very busy especially when they come out with special cinnamon rolls which is why I went today (2/28) for the pecan and red velvet since red velvet is my favorite. Small bakery located in the busy area of Pasadena (across from the Paseo shopping area). My visit was in early August and like a lot of other people that came here (the place was busy and had a line out the door!), I saw this place mentioned or posted somewhere on social media. I think they are noted for the cinnamon rolls, but they have other baked and dessert-y items for sale like banana pudding, cookies, and different cakes. I ended up ordering a slice of carrot cake, a container of tres leches cake, banana pudding, and of course, a cinnamon roll. I also got a strawberry matcha latte that was tasty. I gave the carrot cake to a friend, but got to try all the other items. They were all delicious and the cinnamon roll went really well with my favorite coffee I had at home. The banana pudding was very tasty and had that as a dessert with some other southern style food. All in all, just a great bakery with delicious food and friendly folks. My only note would be if it were possible to get orders while in line. I think the current operating style is that you go through the line and see the items, make a mental note, and you let them know what you want when you get to the register. Parking in the area includes free parking by the city hall, metered street parking the same block and blocks nearby, as well as a paid parking structure across the street. Decor is cute and feels inviting, there is indoor and outdoor seating though there is not much so do not necessarily expect to find a place to sit. Baked goods are located in a glass display (with discounted $2 day old cookies on top!) but you have to order at the register in the back even if you just want pastries. Strawberry matcha (iced, 50% sweetness), 4/5, this was solid; definitely allows the matcha to shine, hints of strawberry in this. I opted for this vs the regular matcha latte per cashier recommendation that it would be less sweet. I will be back to try another one of their drinks! I finally had the chance to visit BadAsh Bakes, and it felt like a full-circle moment. I've been a fan since the owner was selling cookies through TikTok. I even ordered before the storefront existed so coming here in person was really special. When I stopped by around 3 p.m. on a Saturday, there was a line out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the Double Matcha, which was a good, authentic matcha. I also ordered the Matcha Cinnamon Roll, honestly incredible. I'm still thinking about it! I walked away with the original cinnamon roll and matcha cinnamon roll, carrot cake, and several varieties of cookies, including toffee chocolate chip, s'mores, oatmeal raisin, and white chocolate macadamia. Of the two rolls, my family's preferred the original. Matcha over cinnamon filling isn't bad but I'm not a big enough matcha fan. The best part of the rolls is how soft and tender the bread is. They were moist and just probably the best cinnamon rolls I've ever tried. We also liked the cookies which were the thin, chewy variety. S'mores with a big melted blob of marshmallow was a hit but they were all good. The carrot cake was not my favorite mostly because I strongly missed having cream cheese frosting on it. I will say the texture is great and consistent throughout all the cookies! But they shouldn't all be consistent in flavor. The frosting needs a cream cheese butter ratio adjustment Or a stabilizer as it is more butter than cream cheese and deconstructs easily. I arrived on a Saturday at 8:30 and was fortunate that there was no line - just two people ahead of me. The shop is cozy & welcoming with big fluffy couches to sit on while you wait for your order. The pastry case is filled with cookies, muffins, brownies, banana bread, cakes, and even banana pudding. Coffee & tea beverages are available too. The staff are friendly & courteous. After the signage went up for Badash Bakes, posts all over IG started popping up about their unique baked goods. I was definitely intrigued with their matcha cinnamon roll. As they clearly state that cinnamon rolls are served until 12 and cookies are served after 12, we were fortunate to be able to sample both items. Matcha cinnamon roll - this was then one item I was excited to try as it was very unique. After trying it, not sure I like the combination of matcha and cinnamon. The only difference between the matcha and regular is simply with the icing. Cinnamon roll - thought this was the best item we sampled. Though it wasn't hot, I thought it was perfectly baked with the perfect amount of cinnamon and icing. Would definitely come back for this in the morning. Cookies - we ended up ordering a dozen (doubled up on both the matcha and toffee chocolate chip). Had high hopes as all of videos on IG kept stating how good they were but wasn't impressed with them. The best in my opinion was the toffee chocolate chip and the s'mores due to the uniqueness. I think I'd rather have a Levain or b. patisserie cookie if craving one. As we took the items home for consumption, didn't try their drinks so may have to come back for that another day. Will also be interesting to compare their banana pudding against Magnolia's. read more
