So freakin yummy! restaurant is small but big enough to sit parties of 7+. Service is nice, young adults in a casual seafood boil restaurant not crazy. Our waitress was nice. My boyfriend and I got combo #2 comes w/ corn, potatoes, sausage, shrimp, and good amount of crab legs that actually have crab meat! It was so good. Their Cajun wings are a must, the best Cajun wings we've ever had honestly!

    Cajun dynamite, so good!

Food: we ordered combo #2, dynamite heat, cajun: Shrimp, crab legs, sausage potatoes, corn. We ordered extra sausage & a hard boiled egg, side of rice and drinks. Service: Professional Vibe: Casual Price: $52 for combo #2, plenty for 2 people. Drinks & extra sausage & egg, totalled: $69 without tip Noteworthy: It's going to get messy, they give you gloves and bibs, so dress accordingly, not your favorite light pants or shirts lol So worth it, super delicious

Love having a local Cajun seafood boil spot in Escondido so I don't have to drive far! I placed a pickup order to bring a "snack" over to my parents' house and got Combo #3, which features a Dungeness crab, a pound of shrimp, corn, sausage, and potatoes. I tried the Atomic sauce at a mild level; it was still a bit spicy and slightly oily, but definitely tolerable. The crab was a little dry, but the flavors were good. The real MVP side was the Cajun fries.. perfectly crisp and delicious. Still highly recommend checking them out!

Driving home to Orange County and my cousin said she wanted crab. This place popped up and we decided to give it a try. We got the pound of shrimp, and pound of snow crab. It can with corn and sausage. We added ramen noodles and garlic bread. We got the atomic sauce which was delicious and super garlicky. Medium spice is more like a medium hot. Everything was delicious, was enough for 2 hungry girls with some left over. Go here you went be disappointed! Service was great. A robot delivered our meal.,

We ordered combo #1 which allowed you to choose 2lbs of multiple items (1lb eacb) and 2 corns, 2pc of potatoes, and 4pc of sausage. We decided on 1lb of shrimp (head on) and 1lb of clams and went with their atomic sauce which includes their original Cajun seasoning, lemon pepper, and garlic butter. Omg! It was so delicious! The combined flavors went together great, just enough spice, garlic, and lemony flavor. The staff was attentive which I appreciated very much. The restaurant is clean and had really cool decor hanging lobster, crabs on the walls, etc). Will I be back? Definitely! I'll like to try the octopus as it is something you don't see too often in Cajun seafood boil restaurants. One last note, there is plenty of parking which is a plus!

The evening, we came in was really slow, there was 2 tables seated, and we were not greeted and sort of looked around a bit before we were told to sit anywhere. We asked for some recommendations as we had not been here before and went with the suggestions, ordered shrimp/crab/crawfish. The place was really clean, which is great since it is a pretty new business. The food itself came decently quick, we were not really checked on while we dined, and overall, the food itself was not particularly great. The Corn had some pieces that were perfect, and some very mushy. The Crab tasted pretty decent, the shrimp and the crawfish tasted a bit dirty. I have had plenty of crawfish in my life and I do enjoy them, these just were not great.

I was craving crab so I decided to give this new spot a try. The restaurant has cute decor and is spacious. There was no wait for a table when we came on a Friday night for dinner. We started with the cajun fries. They came out hot and fresh. They were also very flavorful. I liked that the fries were slightly crispy on the outside. My husband and I shared the #2 combo. It came with 1 pound of snow crab, 1 pound of shrimp, 2 corns, 2 potatoes, and 4 sausage slices. Everything tasted delicious and it was the perfect amount of food for us to share.

My friends kept going to this spot over and over and they invited me to check it out the next time I was in the area. We went there on a Sunday around noon time. There were some people in there eating already, but we did not have to wait for a table. Inside decor was pretty cute, it sort of reminded me of a seafood/sports bar vibe. Staff came up to us and was very attentive throughout the entire dining experience. My immediate family was not able to come with me so I ordered a bunch of food to bring home. Items I ordered: 1.Combo 2: 1 lb snow crabs, 1lb shrimp, 2 corns, 2 potatoes, 4 sausage slices. (added extra potatoes and hard boiled eggs) ($45+) (chose garlic Butter for seasoning and mild spiciness) I did enjoy this but for the price, I did not love it. The boiled egg, sausage and potatoes were the best part. (also the shrimp dipped in the sauce was not too bad) You can order with head on or off.If you want them completely peeled I think it's $2 more. 3/5 (taking off 1 whole point just for food received for price) 2.Garlic Noodles- These were very soft noodles, reminding me of Udon but smaller and round. These were super garlicky with a good amount of sauciness. They were pretty tasty, but not sure if these noodles should be the kind used for this dish. I would like them to be not as soft as well. 4/5 3. Fried Shrimp with Garlic fries- The shrimp are fairly large at this place. These shrimp were deep fried well and came out piping out. They needed a tiny bit of salt but these were my favorite out of the whole meal. The garlic fries were good as well, they did not skimp one bit on the garlic. 5/5 The fun thing about this place is that the food is delivered by a robot. The staff was super attentive and got us everything we needed. Would I come here again? Possibly if I was in the area. I think the food comes out fresh/hot and fast, the staff is great and we did not have to wait at all to be seated. I think I might crave this from time to time. If you get garlic butter as the seasoning, just know you will be getting an insane amount of garlic. Garlic fans will rejoice. Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Food: 3.8/5

Was excited about trying this place, but weren't wowed by it. We went the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving. It was empty. Instead of having excellent service we just had mediocre service. We ordered a combo 1 and a combo 2 so had a chance to taste several items to include crawfish, mussels, clams, shrimp (head off), snow crab, potatoes, sausage and corn on the cob. We also ordered some hard boiled eggs on the side. We chose all the sauces mixed for both bags, then one on with medium spice, one with just a tiny bit of spice. Service was quick. The order with snow crab came out in a tin pan; the other order came out in a big plastic bag. It would have been hard to serve ourselves from that and a big mess. We had to ask for it to be dumped in a metal bowl. Both of the sauces were exactly the same, both on the spicy side, almost a little too spicy for those that wanted very little spice. We were a party of 6, sharing everything. They also did not provide anything to put our shells in. We had to request another pan. Just not much attention to detail. I wasn't impressed with the sausage. It didn't have that nice "snap" when I bit into it. All of the seafood tasted pretty bland. I'm not sure if it's because it was cooked separately and the sauce was poured on top or maybe it wasn't thawed before it was cooked. The sauce seemed kind of grainy and seemed to separate the longer we sat. The shrimp were the best thing that we ate. Sorry to say, but I prefer Surfing Crab.

There was a 2 hour wait at Boiling Crab so we came here to Bag O Crab and there was no wait and the seafood boil was as good or better. We'll be back.

I think this is definitely the go-to spot for crabs. We had the dungeness crab combo, atomic sauce, with on fire xx spice level. It had a good kick to it without being overbearing, though I do have a high spice tolerance, so your mileage may vary. Sauce also had a flavorful garlic touch that compliments the crab well and also does wonders for the potatoes and sausages. The atmosphere and decorations were nice. Had the chance to talk with the owners, and they were very down to earth people! The wall art was done by them and I think details like this goes a long way in showing that they care a lot. And I think they succeeded in creating an atmosphere that is welcoming, and is a place where you go with your buds to eat good food and have a good time. That's what it's all about man. Oh and their Oysters + fried Oysters are to die for

Food was great! Got the combo 2 and its was gone, delicious!

It was our very first time here and we were a party of 30! We got the Chosen Juan special! It was a lot of seafood and the cook did not disappoint! Everything was cooked to perfection nothing was overcooked and if you eat here get their special sauce, that the sauce that the mixture of all their butter sauces it was *Chefs Kiss* whether you get it mild or extremely spicy it's bomb! The service was great! The waitress was very patient with us and took the time to explain every option that we could choose from for our big party. The restaurant had soft lighting, very clean, and very family friendly!

The workers check on you at the perfect times, help you understand the menu, and even break down your order and pricing so you know exactly what you're getting. The prices are great and surprisingly affordable. I ended up leaving a $30 tip because I couldn't thank them enough. If you're on a budget, they'll even pull out a Sharpie and write different options and prices right on your table to help you stay within your budget. What other place has service like that? McDonald's? No way. Chick-fil-A? Not even close. The Boiling Crab is an incredible experience, and I would definitely come back again and again. Whether you're trying a seafood boil for the first time or coming back for another visit, this is the place to go. They have all the seafood and sides you could want, and everything tastes amazing. Would you rather spend hundreds of dollars on random stuff from Facebook Marketplace, or about $20 per person for a delicious seafood boil the whole family can enjoy? The food is filling, flavorful, and worth every penny. This place is also perfect for birthday parties. They don't take reservations, but they do have wait times, and you can always call ahead if you're planning something special. I'm actually planning to have my 50th birthday party here with a group of 20 people, and they told me they can accommodate us, which is amazing. I'll be sure to update everyone on how the party goes! Also, my husband is the one who drove me here, and I'm so thankful for him. He's currently fighting stage 4 cancer, and seeing him smile and enjoy a great meal meant the world to me. For a little while, he seemed happier and felt better, and that's something I'll never forget. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you're craving a seafood boil and you're anywhere in the San Diego area--whether you're a few minutes away or even a few hours away--you know where to go: The Boiling Crab. It's a fantastic place for families, friends, and anyone looking for a fun and delicious meal. - Beckett

And I put buffet in quotations because it's not actually a standard buffet, but more of a sit down "all you can eat". You need to be at blue card level (2nd tier level) to gain access to the buffet but they sometimes will let new people or red cards enter if they aren't busy. There's also a mandatory $8 (recently raised from $7) tip per person that's dining. If you're not black card (highest tier) you usually have to wait 1-2 hours before even being called to get in line. Then you have to wait in line 20-45 additional minutes before being seated. Black cards get to skip the initial wait and go directly into the line to wait to be seated. Once you're seated you get to choose a soup, salad, or both and then wait for them to bring you the food. Then you have to wait again for your server or try to flag one down to place another round of orders. On average my family has noticed people usually only do the appetizer round, one or two main rounds, and dessert because of the long service times. My family averages around 4-5 main rounds so we sit there for 3-4 hours sometimes with the majority of that time just waiting. The service is the main reason I say this place is hit or miss. If you get a nice and attentive server then everything goes great, but some of the servers are very noticeably there to just do the minimum amount for the job and that's it. Some servers will listen to your orders and actually tell you what additional options there are (like for the lobster tails we didn't even know until months later that we could get it with garlic butter or different sauces on top of it), and some even go and get the food to bring directly to you if they notice you've been waiting too long. Others.. will look around and barely hear what you're ordering and get the whole plate wrong or forget items for your order, resulting in you only getting 2 or 3 of what you asked for instead of the whole 4 that you're supposed to get. Or sometimes the opposite happens where they bring 2-3 of the same item on one plate and none of the other items that you ordered. It's already bad enough that most of the time, the servers only come to your table every 30-45 minutes so you're waiting an incredibly long time just to get one plate of food. The best times to go are definitely the weekdays very early right when they open (if you're not a black card) and the worst times are Fridays and weekends. They also have a recommendation to not have groups larger than 4 because they either split you up or you have to wait an extremely long time for a table to accommodate your group (because they only have 2 tables for large parties). They honestly should just turn the cafe dining room into an additional dining area for the buffet since that space goes wasted after they close and the cafe is literally right on the other side of the wall of the buffet. We've been coming here every other Friday for the drawings for almost 2 years now and the service is so inconsistent but the food is great! There has only been one time I was served a rancid lobster tail and almost threw up in the dining area. The menu changed last month and we tried the new tenderloin, it was absolutely perfect. But then a few weeks ago we tried it again and it was served well done even though we all asked for medium rare (and that's the last time we ever ordered the tenderloin because of that). One problem that happened the other day though was that the people doing the seating weren't seating any of the black card line. There were 8 tickets lined up and only 4 for the other line, but they kept seating the other side and kept putting up a new ticket. The group in front of us had 2 disabled people waiting for 30 minutes (and one of them was missing a leg). I felt so bad for that guy. The explanation was that "we have to follow the timestamp on the tickets to seat people fairly" but hello??? We're not blind. No one was being seated in the black card line for 30 minutes, even small groups of 2 that were in front of us started complaining. I don't understand the "timestamp" bs because we can actively see people getting in the other line, paying waaaay after the 3 groups ahead of us AND us, and still get seated before us. A group of 5 that paid after us in the general line got seated before any of the 3 groups ahead of us. It was just ridiculous but was a one off bad experience compared to the hundred we've had but thought I'd mention it. We still love coming to eat here because the food is great and consistent and almost all of us are black card members so we get food vouchers, but the service definitely needs some improvement or at least consistency equal to the food quality.

We were seated pretty promptly, and someone came over to bring us water fairly quickly. I noticed they don't change their menu very often, as it seems to be mostly the same as the last few times I've gone, and I don't go often. It might be nice for them to add some new items or mix it up a bit. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and a wedge salad. We were splitting the wedge salad so it was nice that the server separated it for us on two different plates. I love a good much salad, and this really hit the spot, and I enjoyed it. I don't think it had any onions which I do sometimes like, but it didn't really matter much to me in this instance. Unfortunately, I wish I could say I liked the shrimp and grits as much as the wedge salad, but it was not good at all. It comes out on a rectangular shaped plate, and the portion is extremely small. That might have been something I could overlook if the dish itself had been good. However, the Grits were not creamy at all and were overly firm and just had a bland flavor. It didn't seem to have much of a sauce in them, and I just couldn't eat it. The sausage they you didn't taste very good to me, and was chopped up in little bits. The shrimp I will say was pretty good, but they were only four or five of them. I ate the shrimp left the grits and tried to fill up on the bread they wrote to the table instead. I really wish I would have gotten something different, as I felt this was a waste of money. I'm not sure there's really much of a reason to go back considering the dinner menu doesn't have anything new, and my dish was disappointing. If I did decide to go back I would definitely have to order something different. I'm giving three stars as my husband really liked the bacon wrapped shrimp he had, and we both enjoyed the salad and bread.

Fantastic service today by Mel, Tim, and staff! Made my BFFs bday a memorable one!…read more The food and drink were delicious as well! The bread and whipped butter were divine. The iced tea with the iced tea cubes, lemon, and simple syrup was out of this world. Next up we ordered the 3 course meal with the soup of the day mushroom French onion it was delicious!!! So creamy. Then we got the Chilean Sea Bass with risotto with lemon garnish. It was a beautiful display of flavor and wonderful to look at. Finally we chose the carrot cake and they brought her a slice of German chocolate cake with a Happy Birthday message and also a handwritten bday card from staff! WOW! It was the sweetest thing to make her day so special. Their bar next door is beautiful with blue ambient lighting and a fish tank see through wall. We did not enjoy it this time due to being too full. We gambled a bit, charged our car, and then left. I might even go back tomorrow because why not! It is worth the hour long drive back and forth. Best casino and restaurant in SD!

We've heard a lot of great reviews, so we decided to try it out! Even though we did not have reservations, the staff was incredibly accommodating while Alexis took our name and phone number and asked if we were celebrating any special occasion or if we had food allergies. Tim, our host, took us to our seat and the absolutely wonderful dining experience started! What stood out most was the attention to detail. While upscale restaurants pride themselves on high-quality coffee and thoughtful accompaniments, this restaurant's level of service is not standard! They provided an elaborate carrier laden with regular and whip cream, honey, chocolate and sugar stir sticks and topped it off with a biscotti for their brewed coffee! From carefully addressing food allergies to providing impeccable service throughout the evening, every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortably mixed with guests dressed from casual to elegant - perfect for a special occasion. We enjoyed the $75 three-course dinner, and both the pork chop and barramundi were exceptional. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented from the start of the potato lentil soup of the day and the fig and burrata salad to the dinner entrees! Every bite was a celebration of flavor! A special thank you to our waiter, Luciano, whose attentiveness and professionalism elevated the entire dinner journey. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our evening. The highlight of the night was dessert. The presentation was done in such a thoughtful and meaningful way to recognize both our silver anniversary and a milestone birthday along with personally staff signed cards. I'm sure they do it for all their guests celebrating special events, but it made our already memorable evening truly unforgettable. This was more than just a great meal - it was an experience we'll always remember. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality.

I did struggle on this visit because I felt that the food festival could have been better. I stress that I love this place and enjoyed the music. I often buy nuts, candy or fudge there. They have a section in back where they sell cool stuff. I especially love going near Christmas. If you haven't been, give it a try. Good for kids too. Don't forget about the pumpkin patch in October

It is located in Valley Center, so be prepared for your trek. I always go with plenty of snacks, food and water. Having celiac means the food tents will not have options for any food restrictions, but maybe if you're lucky you can get a lemonade for $13 or something. Be prepared to shell out exorbitant amounts for any purchases. The pumpkin patch is a great place to get fall pictures, but the prices are wild. The rides are about $5 each for a minute or two. The bounce obstacle course was $5 for three times running through. It was unreasonable. The gift shop sold the cheapest temu crappy toys for $20!! Buy you're own toys at Walmart and bring them with you to keep the kids happy. I can buy junk on my own. The nuts and candy and dried fruits are probably the only thing I am ok with buying. It's about the price of Sprouts or Whole Foods. I'll usually buy my kiddo a treat and steer him away from the insanity of the price tags of the crappy toys and we're good to go. I buy my pumpkins at target though.
