I still think this is a solid spot to have in the area. I'm trying to eat healthy, but I was really hungry and came in for a simple slice of pizza. I saw that they now offer Buffalo wings, there were multiple 8 by 11 print-out photos posted inside letting customers know. Since I'm a practicing Trytarian, I need to try (almost) everything at least once, especially in regard to food (except the deadly blowfish delicacy of course, dog, or cannibalism). I have a soft-spot for wings, but discipline myself to eat them only on special occasions or when an intense craving arises. But I gave in to give this new menu item a try. However, while ordering them I was met with an unpleasant surprise. I found it deeply heretical that they only offered ranch and not the standard blue cheese. I know there's a lot of ranch enthusiasts out there, I went to a college with a high-amount of Midwestern representation, and I too would often find myself participating in their "dipping fries in ranch" ritual. However, when it comes to Buffalo wings, my philosophy has always been blue cheese and crispy or GTFO. Nonetheless, I found myself unexpectedly eating (despite no blue cheese) and enjoying these Buffalo wings at Bagel & Slice on a late-Monday afternoon. Props to offering 8-pieces over 6. That felt generous and comfortably iconoclastic. But please get your act together and offer blue cheese in addition to ranch (if you must). Even the guy who ordered wings after me, while I was eating them asked for blue cheese. Locals and nearby Oxy students will certainly appreciate having high-quality Buffalo wings close by. But I cannot and will not endorse these wings until they are served with the option of blue cheese dressing. read more

4 stars I rarely ever make it into Highland Park b/c I never want to deal with traffic or parking, but I decided to buy a Too Good To Go bag to try their food. So, I drove all the way out to HP to pick up my bag. Let me just say that the trip here was worth the traffic and parking issues I ran into at 8:50pm at night. The box they gave me was filled with a variety of pizza and bagels. For an early 5am breakfast, I had a bagel w/ cream cheese and thought it was delicious! For 2nd breakfast, I had a half a slice of margarita pizza and half a slice of pepperoni and those were also delicious. We used the Too Good To Go App on Sunday night and we were excited for our surprise, but while we were waiting the pepperoni pizza was speaking to V, so I ordered him a slice. I noticed they had a gluten free bagel on the menu but wasn't in the mood for anything at the time. Kid was pleased with his slice. I was happy about the service and cleanliness of the spot. It was a nice touch to see Highland Park done like the subway in NYC. It made me feel reminiscent. Great spot on York ave that I have been curious about for a while. Yesterday my man and I were out shopping and decided to stop here for a quick bite. The service is top notch. The food is delicious, the service was quick, and the employees were friendly and kind. However, I wouldn't recommend Bagel + Slice to anyone who is allergic to nuts. Unfortunately, my boyfriend suffered an allergic reaction today while eating his chorizo breakfast sandwich. It looked like it had some kind of pesto on it, which was not listed on the menu. We've eaten here multiple times and he's had that sandwich before with no issues. Tasty bagel place at York! They also sell pizza here but I haven't gotten the chance to try em yet. I got their Egg Sandwich with an Iced Pistachio Matcha Latte. The egg sandwich was absolutely fantastic and I will def be back to try more of their bagels. The open faced bagels looked so yummy too. Their drinks are already premade in the morning and are in dispensers. I asked them and the pistachio matcha latte is made with oat milk and agave. Super casual spot on the corner and lots of street residential parking nearby. The lady at the cashier was helpful and other workers were nice when giving us our order. They also have "All Gender" restroom in the back which is nice to see for everyone. My friend and I have been on a bagel mission so this was our 5th spot to check out in LA. She ordered the Superfresh on an everything bagel with vegan cream cheese and I got the Goldilox on a poppy bagel and they were pretty fresh and delicious. Wish there were more contents/portions though as it seemed like only a small portion of the salmon for my Goldilox. But the bagel was at least not too chewy or thick so that was good. I am now officially an open face bagel sandwich girly! I feel like it was an overall more enjoyable experience biting through this type of sandwich because you won't need to take big bites and really get to taste the ingredients more and get more out of it. Both the Goldilox and Superfresh bagels had their highlights. I especially loved the fresh and sweet heirloom tomatoes from the Superfresh bagel.
