Bagel Boy has changed, for sure, in the last ten years. I used to go in with my ex bf and we would have breakfast every Sunday morning there. The food is still good, but the service is quite poor to be honest. Today, I called in an order at 11:30 am. Then, my colleague wanted a salad as well, so I called about 10 minutes later to phone her order in. The lady on the phone told me exactly 45 minutes wait time. I said ok. 45 minutes passed. An hour passed. Then two hours passed. I called about three times to find what was going on with the order. Each time I get a different story - oh the guys on his was, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc etc. Not true. When the guy finally arrives at 2:15 pm, he brings my colleagues salad, but not mine. WOW. Just wow. So I asked him, how is it possible that you can deliver the order I placed after mine? A barage of excuses ensue - oh the roads are slippery, this is this, that is that. It's not true. All he had to do was take both bags, not just one, and actually pay attention to what he was doing. Did not happen. So he has to go all the way back to the store, get the bag and come back, so I don't get my order until 2:30 pm. I called the store to tell them I wanted a refund, that two and a half hours is not an acceptable wait time for a salad (not for anything, really, but especially not a salad). The same guy tells me oh, I'm giving you a refund, and the next lunch is on us. Next lunch? I don't think so. Going to find a different place. You pay a price when you don't pay attention to what you're doing. If this had been the first time this happened, I may have let it slide. But it's the second or third time I am waiting over an hour for a delivery, and it's just not acceptable, to be quite honest. And the attitude of the operator and the manager stunk, honestly. The salad delivered was a pile of mush, the bagel was cold and butter slabbed everywhere. That's not how you deliver food. Go back to school and learn the industry of business management - you just don't have a clue. read more

Then was told by one that I Could go somewhere else after spending $24.00 He then lied to manager?/owner and said he told me to have a nice day!!! What a shame!! The food is great and is always my first choice for breakfast! But, if you are ordering delivery, make sure you have the girl readd the order back to you and make sure she understands what your order is, or it will not come the way you ordered it. Food is good when they get the order right. 4 out of 5 times me and my co workers ordered from here they screwed it up. Either not sending the correct things or missing it completely. Then when you call back they have an attitude like your the one who didn't take the order right, not to mention they take over a hour to deliver 10 blocks away. Love the bagel varieties and they are usually always fresh. I can't attest to the salad bar as I haven't tried it yet, but their sandwiches are good. My favorites are chicken cutlet on an every thing bagel and there BECs (turkey bacon egg and cheese) are boss! This store has been serving quality bagels for years. I pick up an occasional sandwich here and am never disappointed with the quality. The staff know how to make a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast and a turkey hero for lunch. Ordered Delivery today. I ordered 1 light sesame bagel with lox and cream cheese and another well-done seams bagel scooped out with lox, cream cheese, onions and capers... Then a side of pasta salad and a pizza bagel. I had her repeat it to me three times since she got it wrong the first time. It was our day off and I really wanted to enjoy breakfast. After 65 minutes waiting for this delivery it comes WRONG! They put lox spread on my husband's bagel. He hates lox spread and my pasta salad was all stale. Breakfast down the drain. I called back and the girl admitted she wrote lox cream cheese and put me on hold. I waited and waited and then hung up... No call back or anything. Not cool bagel boy! Terrible customer service. Bagel Boy of Ave Z is the place I always go to get a bagel or a roll, coffee, and sometimes soup and a sandwich. The bagels are very substantive, and not too dense. They are perfect for sandwiches or with a little butter or cream cheese. Also, their salads and sandwiches are always very good. Overall, I never had a bad breakfast or lunch here. Also, they have a nice selection of desserts,too. I especially like their chocolate moose cake, as it's very tasty and goes perfectly with their coffee, which is also quite good. The only drawback is that sometimes the service is a little slow, as the place ofttimes gets crowded, and service thusly slows down. Went this morning to get fresh squeezed orange juice... Normally if you're not getting sandwich you can go straight to the cashier and get simple thing like OJ! I waited by the cashier few minutes and then the cashier asked me if someone helped me.. I said no, I just wanted to get large fresh squeezed orange juice with ice.. The bagels here are so good here! Soft, light, and airy. I hate it when places make their bagels as dense as a brick! I usually get the blueberry bagel with cream cheese and lox spread. Yes, it's a crazy combo, but it's sooooo good! There is one thing that I cannot get across is the lines, in this place. You order at one place, and then you pay at another place, and it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe they made their bagels TOO good... Idk but anyway, there's a station to make only hot coffee, which I like because I like my coffee medium dark and I hate when there's too much milk in it. so I'm glad they have that!
