Small but mighty bagel shop!! I tried their roast beef sandwich for my first time here with an iced viet coffee, and this girl was so full and happy. I want to eat all my sandwiches with a sliced and toasted croissant from now on. Total came down to $19.19 so it's a treat, but I will without a doubt give my money to small business owners. They greet you with the biggest smiles, and I hope they stay in business for years to come so I can try everything on the menu!! Great food, great coffee, very friendly staff! Unfortunately, I had to knock off a star because, despite checking with them several times to make sure they understood my order, they still got it wrong. I wanted a combination of the Veg Out bagel sandwich and the Lox bagel sandwich: Essentially, a bunch of vegetables and smoked salmon (with my crazy schedule, I don't get enough vegetables during the day, so I take them however I can get them). I told the lady behind the counte rwhat I wanted, and she said that they could do it. Great! When the guy behind the counter was making my sandwich, I checked with him and asked him if he was putting all the veggies from the Veg Out bagel on the sandwich and he said "yes" . Imagine my surprise when I get to work and have just a plain lox bagel sandwich. Not a deal-breaker, because the sandwich was good, but if you have a special request, you might have to watch the staff make your food to make sure they're making it properly. I also ordered a caramel silk iced latte with almond milk. The vanilla and caramel flavored syrups in the iced latte give it it's "silky" moniker. The lady behind the counter wanted to make sure that it was exactly what I wanted, so she had me try it after she gave it to me to make sure it was sweet enough. And she nailed it. Why haven't I gone here before?! Really good central location on Main St. Parking wasn't an issue in the morning. I was greeted right away by the friendly owner/employees. They have all the mocha/coffee selections you could want. Bagels, sandwiches, muffins, and huge croissants. My mocha was really good. I also saw Vietnamese coffee on the menu. Went with the croissant breakfast which came with egg, cheese, and choice of protein. It was huge, definitely big enough to share. Also went with a breakfast bagel. Both were really fresh and warm. One adult with two kids were able to share both with some leftovers. So next time you're heading out of town and want breakfast to go, stop by and support this local business instead of the usual generic coffee place. Looks like a great lunch option also and a favorite of locals. Glad to have this nearby and I'll be stopping by more often. read more

I am not familiar with Pleasanton but I was visiting family. I discovered Bagel Cafe after looking for a place to get a quick bite before I hit the road. The reviews for this place made me want to come experience it for myself plus I was in the mood for a sandwich. The minute I walked through the door I was greeted and felt very welcomed. Everything looked so good I couldn't decide. A young girl told me about their secret menu which has Vietnamese sandwiches and I was really intrigued but I had a taste for tuna salad. I ordered a tuna sandwich on a croissant. The croissant was MASSIVE and it was by far THE BEST tasting croissant I've ever had! It was so soft and buttery and just melted in my mouth. The tuna had great flavor and the portions were unreal and price super reasonable. If I'm ever in town again I'll definitely need to come in and try their bagels. This place is the best for breakfast. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The bagels are the perfect texture- not too hard or dense or dry- and they have so many flavors to choose from. We always get the egg and cheese with chive cream cheese and choice of bagel flavor. I can't put into words how yum this simple bagel sandwich is. The egg is thick and fluffy and the cheese is gooey. I want one now! The banana nut and coffee muffins are so fluffy -not overly sweet and moist. Warm them up in the oven and its like they were just baked fresh out of the oven. If there was an award for best scones then this place wins- no competition. Huge scones in raspberry or blue berry flavor. They manage to be crumbly but at the same time moist inside like cake. Just trust me on this - when I say best scone. If you love scones then get one from here immediately. Thank me later. You can tell that everything is baked that day. It tastes like homemade and not the processed breakfasts you get at major chains. This is comfort food for us. Just feels so right in the morning -especially on a cold cloudy day with hot tea/coffee. We order breakfast from here once a week. TIP- For delivery orders. Remove the wrap the bagels come in and wrap them and the pastries separately in their own aluminum foil and heat in oven at 375 for 10 -15 mins. They come out warm. read more

The bagel tasted old and the cream cheese had huge pieces of veggies in it, which was gross. There were whole slices of carrots and huge celery pieces just falling out of my bagel. Biting into them was not fun or delicious either. When I order the veggie cream cheese, it's always been (at every other bagel place), just tiny shredded pieces. On an unrelated note: I thought I was going to this other bagel place which I really liked (bagel street cafe) but bcuz of the almost same name, my gps took me here. Such an amazing spot!! It doesn't seem like much but these are seriously some of the best sandwiches you can get. I came on a Monday around noon and it was pretty busy despite all the other stores in the area seeming desolate. Upon reading the good reviews about them I went with a turkey sandwich on a croissant and chicken banh mi. I also got a bagel for later since I wanted to try it coming from a spot called bagel cafe hahaha. I was able to try half of each sandwich since I split it, and both were so delicious! The chicken had so much flavor and the bread was perfectly toasted. The croissant was sooo good -- very flakey and soft, and all the ingredients in the turkey sandwich were so fresh. They really know how to make good sandwiches! To be honest, the bagel was a bit dry and bland for me but I'll look over it since the sandwiches were so good. Errand running ran later than expected, and we came in about 30 minutes before closing. , All of the staff were very accommodating and quite friendly. I was impressed with the variety of menu options. Smoothies, coffees, Vietnamese sandwiches, and bakery items. They had a giant rice Krispy treat that had been dipped in thick chocolate- it looked so tempting! My typically shy nine year old announced "Yum, I smell bacon!" She was greeted with warm smiles, and assured that she can have some bacon. She got a cheddar cheese toasted bagel with butter and bacon. She told us that it was delicious and she ate the entire sandwich. One of our daughters had a mango smoothie, and a bag of chips. She said the smoothie was very good. The other one, had a strawberry smoothie, and she said it was perfect. I had a Vietnamese coffee that was too sweet for me, so I froze it into ice cubes, and used it in my iced lattes for a week. I enjoyed them very much. BTW- I absolutely understand that it's supposed to be super sweet, so that was not criticism. Good food and excellent service is what will bring us back here again soon.
