We are always searching for a new sandwich places as lunch options at work, and Domenico's delicatessen did not disappoint. As someone who loves to eat sandwiches of all kinds and at almost any meal, I appreciate the quality and care that Domenico's puts into their sandwiches. We've tried multiple different sandwich options there via food delivery, and they are excellent, but I still come back to my build your own cold roast beef sandwich which includes a generous amount of thinly sliced roast beef, fresh vegetables, tailored sauces, and a fresh roll with the right bread to meat ratio for my preferences. They offer a limited number of side salad options and their macaroni salad was well seasoned, had the right amount of mayo, but I didn't happen to prefer their particular seasoning--just a taste preference. Was in the area for work on a Monday and needed a place to stop by for a bite to eat for lunch and I was not disappointed. Was greeted by friendly staff, a nice deli vibe, a full restaurant for Monday in the late morning. Saw the special menu and this sandwich (Smoked turkey and Gouda + other topping) and grabbed some soda and a side that sounded good. The sandwich was phenomenal. A good balance of bread texture, sauce, moist deli meat, and toppings. Everything was very fresh and that came through in the flavors. The potato salad was also very good. Red potato and dill I think were the main ingredients. I grabbed a bit more than I needed (not expecting such a voluminous sandwich) but it was so good I ate that all too anyway. And the soda to wash it down was a great end to a wonderful pleasant lunch. Next time I'm in the area I'll have to stop by again to see what other specials they have. read more

I've been seeing some of the recent low reviews for Domenico's Deli and honestly, they feel a bit harsh for a brand new location that's clearly still in its training phase. Opening a new spot with a full staff takes time, and I think it's fair to give them a little grace while they get fully into their rhythm. From my experience, I've always been greeted right away with a smile walking in, and the staff has been kind and welcoming every time. You can tell they're trying, and that goes a long way. Ok so the food!!! The sandwich special was so good, and the antipasto was just as delicious. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for! I'll absolutely be returning more and more. I figured out how to parlay that into a free lunch when we were coming back from site visits too (LOL)! - It's located in the center next to Vics. - Parking lot or off street parking is available. - Get in line, maybe buy some Italian staples while you're queuing. - There are sandwich specials listed on the board (I got the Turkey special). The paper menus are at the counter so you can look before you order. - Give them your order. - Pay at the counter. - Grab a seat (there's enough for a lunch rush). - Gender neutral restrooms. Overall, my sandwich was huge. I ended up taking my other half home and having it the next day (still good). Definitely worth a visit as they are getting their bearings. I was excited to try Domenico's Deli. I ordered online via the app - Molinari Italian Combo and a Turkey club. It was an order ahead. Odd there was an 'Owner platform fee' added not sure this represents. Tax and tip were separate line items. It was ready at the specified time, so far so good. The lettuce on the sandwich should not have been used/served! Whomever made this should see the black edges and spots on the whole leaf. This should have been tossed and not served. read more

This place has recently just opened in downtown PLEASANTON and the other (original) location is in Downtown Danville. I was thinking something simple and new and this came up and I was also curious as I never had Domenicos sandwich before. It was well after the lunch rush you can tell as the place was empty to diners just a few folks picking up their orders. The location is really tucked away in a multilevel businesses are in DT Pleasanton. Parking was no issue as I got a literally front of the establishment parking space. It's even labeled only to Domenicos customers. Very clean , greater upon entrance , first thing you notice is the vast amt of tables , wine , snacks cheeses and chips. It's kinda overwhelming at first so I grabbed a paper menu from the counter sat down with no rush and decided to go with a Cuban grilled panini and a bottled lemonade. It was a solid sandwich. It was very nice of them to give me a complementary chocolate chip cookie . The menu is very large and has hot and cold sandwich options . The meats and cheeses are on display like I mentioned earlier. Prices are just about right . Service is good. Solid 5/5 wants try their salads , pastas etc next time . read more

I've been really excited ever since I've heard Domenico's was gonna be coming into Pleasanton because I frequently go to the one in Danville. I've been to the Pleasanton location twice now...My first experience was during the soft opening the long lines was expected. I ordered 2 sandwiches, 1/2 pint Sonoma chicken salad, chips and 1 drink (all was very good!) I first noticed they didn't have any outdoor seatings like their Danville location and chalked it up as maybe they'll add some tables at a later time. It would be nice for ppl that likes to dine outdoors especially if have their dogs with them. I recently visited again last Friday and I had a chance to really checkout the inside seating area and realized the half frosted windows made the dining experience feeling very enclosed and with the black and white color scheme, I felt like I was dining at a See's candy store, Lol! I did ask one of the worker if they're planning to add outdoor seatings and was told, NO because there no room for seatings and they're not permitted to do so which is very surprising considering their neighbors have tables and chairs outside their establishment but oh well, I guess take out will always have to be my option :( if I choose to go to Domenico's. read more

I thought this place was solid. The sandwich offerings were spot on, their price points were good and they were friendly. The chicken Formaggio sandwich I got was very fresh and it tasted balanced and fresh. I swapped the bread for focaccia but next time would leave it be as the focaccia was rather soft and fell apart. They have hot pastas and other offerings on their lunch menu and also some gourmet foods for purchase scattered throughout the deli. It's a large space with ample seating. I really wanted to like this place because the food is actually good, especially for a spot that's only been open a little over a month. But the bathroom situation is honestly unacceptable. Every time I've been in, the restroom is filthy -- it smells strongly like urine, there's trash on the floor, and you can see by the pictures that it clearly isn't being cleaned regularly. It's not just a one-time thing either, it seems to be a consistent issue. What makes it worse is knowing that employees are using the same bathroom and then going back to prepare food. That's really concerning from a cleanliness and hygiene standpoint. I hope management takes this seriously because the food has potential, but the lack of cleanliness is a huge turn-off and makes it hard to want to come back. read more

I know it's their soft opening, so this review is more feedback than anything. I went on Saturday and ordered a BLT. It was delicious and had generous amounts of bacon. Went today and got another BLT. Literally half the sandwich had no bacon. Not consistent at all. In addition, 40 minutes to get your sandwich. The salad trio was ok. Nothing special about the salads. Wife didn't like her sonoma chicken salad. We thought it would have grapes like usual but it had cranberries. Wife said the mayo tastes like miracle whip. Friendly staff. read more

I almost gave this place 5 stars since the sandwiches we ordered were delicious. I gave it 4 stars after having the same sandwich 4 days later. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and got lots of avocado which made the sandwich very satisfying. But the second time I ordered my same sandwich, the sandwich was thinner and no avocado. They for my avocado which was disappointing. Also my boyfriend's sandwich was also messed up the second time where mayonnaise was added when ordered online no mayonnaise. Very happy Pleasanton now has this cute deli, as Main St needed a place like this. Perfect for all ages really. Which is great for teenagers who just would like to purchase a sandwich and not have a whole sit down meal like most places on Main St. The food was good, just wish there was outdoor seating. Even a couple small tables would be nice. The nail salon next door has a small table and chairs, and it was the nail salon employees sitting there and kinda gave us dirty looks as we try to pass them to get into the deli. I'm sure the nail salon is used to it being more quite in this tucked away lot but it's gotten a lot busier..If the deli had an outdoor small table I could get a sandwich and sit there with my dog, which I think a lot of ppl wanted to do. The menu selection was good, I was not blown away by anything really. There were three of us, a tuna classic, Italian sandwich and kids Turkey sandwich. I heard was good. They have Andes Mints in jar by the register, 10 cents, nice nostalgia with that. Again, nice for the younger crowd to be able to afford anything on Main St. They forgot my pickle. So that was a bummer to go back to the long lines to ask for it. Understandably busy there, and hoping to try a cookie next time. Was hearing rumblings about how this popular Danville Deli is opening a new location in Pleasanton, so I had to check it out myself. I want to give a huge shout out to Tai for making my first experience a great one( first impressions are the most important). He guided me through the selections, variations, salads, specials, etc. let me sample some salads too, the Asian noodle salad is fantastic! Ultimately ended up going with a Cajun turkey sandwich on a Francese roll, red pepper mayo, and all the fixings. Tai constructed it beautifully and it tasted amazing and fresh. The quality is definitely there . Inside is super nice and clean looking. The lunch rush is definitely busy so be prepared to wait in line, but it'll definitely worth it . Ok, this is fourth time here since they opened. Sandwiches are good, wait time is ridiculous in every case 20+ minutes. Since wait time is so bad I decided to order pick up. Should have been no stress pick up. Ordered at 10:47, due at 12:45. Finally got sandwiched at 12:15 after being told starting at 11:50 it would be ten minutes. Could see 5-6 people working on replacing salads in deli case. No orders for pickup for the 20 minutes I was sitting waiting. And only 3-4 walk in customers. Honestly Saturday at noon place should have been full especially with the Farmer's Market down the street. One more thing: the teen who bagged the sandwiches was rude and claimed we had cancelled the order. Tag clearly said placed 11:45. When I suggested maybe I need to figure out what to do in the future, he said "fine, that's your problem. I am not sure this place is poorly managed of the help is just of a low caliber. read more

Finally! A great and reasonably-priced sandwich spot I can walk to in downtown Pleasanton. Oh my mortadella! The menu is smashing - it would take me a while to sample all the beauties before deigning to build my own, seriously. My friend - whom I was treating for Mother's Day - and I ordered 2 different sandwiches and split them. Wow! The turkey & cranberry was yummy (I did ask for red onions which it needed) with no shortage of actual juicy roasted turkey, and the Reubenini grilled pastrami was very delicious with an abundance of perfectly caramelized onions. My friend said it got better with every bite. The place was non-stop from the minute we got there and the service was way above par. Our only "complaint" was the lack of salt and pepper. We ordered a tuna melt Panini, which was good but $14 with nothing on the side not even a pickle or a little chips, outrageous. This pleasant location has some operational issues where they can't get out online orders or in restaurant orders out in a timely manner. Be prepared to wait over 30 minutes for your sandwich. Enter the Pleasanton location at your own risk. All trainees, no one overseeing the deli. I wasted 1/2 an hour waiting for a simple order of deli meats. Stood in line waiting to be helped for 10 minutes; then the person who took my order disappeared for another 10 minutes, then was given slicing instructions by someone who abandoned her and starting helping people who had arrived AFTER me.
