This is easily the best bagel shop in the peninsula! The location is a small strip mall but the interior will surprise you. I love the clean, trendy, decor! It is pinterest perfect in there. Their food is great as well. I've had a variety of sandwiches and I'm always happy with my order. I especially love the humus heaven. They added some boba drinks for their summer menu. They have a great selection of bagel flavors, my favorite is the sesame, and a surprising amount of sandwiches and other food too. What gets me really excited is that it's reasonably priced! They are always out of garlic bagels when I go but I get delicious sesame bagels instead. They are flexible with your order and not expensive. The folks who work there are really nice. Came here for the vegan option but will never return due to the poor service. Not even a hello when I walk in? There's a certain level of basic manners I expect from any business employee to their customers especially when they help pay for their paycheck but I didn't receive that. This place is AMAZING. Always quick service every time we've came here, always tastes good. The staff can be inconsistent with how friendly and personable they are, but that depends on if they're busy or if they're slow. The times we've been where it's slow, they spend more time getting to know you and having small talk. The times where they're slammed, obviously they're not going to ask what your great grandparents' names are. Busy or slow, the quality of the bagels never fail us. Highly recommend!! read more

Don't bother with the bagel sandwiches here. All the eggs, bacon, sausages, etc at this place are microwaved and you can definitely taste it. The eggs are mushy and the "bacon" is stringy and chewy and gross. If you must come here, my advice would be to stick with just cream cheese and a bagel. read more

I like this place but I have noticed some issues. I understand that the price of bagels has gone up, but I don't approve of "no more bakers dozen deals". Also, the selection of bagel varieties has really gone down. I don't think they are fresh make in the morning because when I purchase them in the early afternoon, they stale out quite quickly. Ordered a cheeseburger the other day ( which are normally very good ) but when I got home I noticed that they omitted the cheese. Wanted to stop by this bagel shop because a bagel sounded good and thought it would be a quick meal before heading out of town. Well, after waiting 45 minutes, I finally got up and asked if we could at least get our iced mochas since the people that came in 30 minutes after us already had their drinks AND their food. When asked why they already had their order, the young man with the ponytail said it was because he took their order and made it right away. Well, they should hire more people like him because the young girl that waited on us moved at the speed of a sloth. She finally started our drink order, and 2 minutes later we got our food. I will say this, my Soprano bagel and my husband's breakfast burrito were good. Sadly, the way that the order and preparation process highly lacks efficiency. At least 5 people left after waiting 10 minutes without moving in line. BOTTOM LINE... good food, nice atmosphere, SUPER SLOW. I would have given this at least a 4 star had it not been for the efficiency. One of my favorite morning comfort foods is a good ol toasted bagel smothered in delicious cream cheese, so I was beyond excited to try Bagel Kitchen on my boyfriend's and my most recent Monterey weekend getaway. Bagel Kitchen not only took care of my comfort food obsession, but they added onto my bagel liking with a huge variety of bagel flavors, cream cheese offerings, and a wide range of drink items. Their bagel sandwiches are also a huge hit. It was really difficult for my boyfriend and I to make a single decision on what we wanted to eat here, but I decided on getting their bacon and cheddar bagel with cream cheese and he got their regular waffle with bacon bits cooking inside (we both wished we had a bigger appetite). With Thai ice teas to finish our mini breakfast meal, we only wished we had room to share a sandwich, but that was going to need to wait for a later time. Both our drinks and food were delicious and didn't take us long to devour them. Next time, I definitely plan on ordering one of their signature bagel sandwiches and want to try their honey green tea. In addition to the great food, you'll feel extra comfortable eating here just based on the atmosphere presented right from the very moment you open the door - a very modern feel and sparkling clean. Last, but certainly not least, every single employee here seemed to have a very professional demeanor with a laid back and down to earth attitude.
