This is the place to be on a Saturday or Sunday morning in Lake Forest. The indoor and outdoor dining areas were absolutely packed when we came. We took that as a sign that the place must be good. Despite the name, they serve more than bagels and coffee. They also serve smoothies and breakfast meals. They have a large assortment of bagels of almost every flavor you could want. The bagels are large, thick, and filling. The breakfast meals are your typical breakfast staples. The omelette was large and probably good enough to share. The highlight of this place for me is that they serve Keane coffee. The coffee is served from canisters and it isn't as fresh as can be, but it is still deliciously good. The service was decent. I came for the unicorn bagels, which were cute. I got a nova scotia on a unicorn bagel- a smoked salmon bagel with various vegetables on the side. It cost about $9 because I asked for avacado. It tasted good but not $9 good. They cheaped out a bit on the cream cheese and toppings It was really crowded on a Friday morning but there were a lot of places to sit so the wait for a table wasn't long. Such a nice upscale service from the typical lunch sandwiches. There were 17 very happy guests. It was around the corner from the meeting so I decided to check out the crazy Unicorn bagels. I really liked this cafe , they have an extensive menu. If it were closer to me I'd be here all the time. I liked a sign they had posted "We are not fast food, we make fresh food as fast as we can" I'd like to come back and try more items on the menu. Found out this place was literally across the street from my house, so now it's my breakfast spot lol. Came here over the weekend and the place was packed. The prices aren't too much for the quality. The counter staff were courteous and fast making my mocha ice coffee. First off, I'm from New York, so naturally I had to get an everything bagel. All the bagels I got were fresh and tasty, way better than anywhere else I've been since coming to California. My bacon, egg, and cheddar on e/b was fresh. It took about ten minutes to make, but not everywhere can be as fast as nyc lol. I was memorized by the Unicorn bagel so I had to get one. It's SO COOL and it didn't taste like a tons of dye as I feared in the back of my mind lol. My favorite part about this place though is there selection of cream cheese. So basically everything was good, BUT the service was very weird and the girl helping us was pretty rude. Ive had this place bookmarked for sometime now and since we happened to be in the area we had to stop by. It was a Saturday at 10 am and this place was packed, which was definitely expected. Its not very spacious and when we got inside I was a bit confused where the line was because there were people basically standing anywhere. I ordered there unicorn bagel with the birthday cake cream cheese and a hot frappucino. They messed up my drink order at first and they gave me a cold frappucino, which luckily they fixed my order and gave me a hot drink. My wife saw a picture of the unicorn bagel and of course we had to go. Note to all restaurants.. If you add a rainbow item, people will come. That being said, the food was actually pretty good. I had the sunrise sandwich, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and sausage. The sausage was good, the eggs with cheese were pretty good, and the sourdough bagel was nicely toasted. My wife had the unicorn bagel with one side spread with strawberry cream cheese, and one side spread with birthday cake cream cheese. She thought the birthday cake cream cheese was a little sweet, but I thought it was actually went really well with the bagel. My son had the crumb cake and he really liked it. He didn't like the hot chocolate much, but that wouldn't stop me from coming again. We all thought the custom cream cheeses sounded really cool. The workers were all really cool and if I was in the area, I would go there again, but I don't think I'd drive out of my way again to eat anything there except the unicorn bagel since it looked so darn cool.... Finally, I managed to be in Lake Forest early enough to grab something from the Instafamous Bagels & Brew. There is a nice trail close by, so we went in before for some breakfast. It's very messy and sticky due to the honey drizzled on top. The combination of crunchy peanut butter and bacon is delicious, but it will dry your mouth out quicker than California's water supply. Do yourself a favor and buy some gosh darn milk to enjoy with this thing. ~ 5/5 - PIZZA BAGEL ($5.29): This is what Bagel Bites wishes they could be. It's literally pizza on a bagel, because it's topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and teeny tiny pepperoni. The pizza bagel is absolutely delicious, and it's a sly way of getting around the fact that you should eat pizza for breakfast. ~ 5/5 You can order these special bagels on top of any bagel, I think. They have many inventive flavors, plus cool cream cheeses like Oreo and Reeses. Some are even packaged in the fridge so you can take them home and spread them on your boring grocery bagels. Only thing is, if you order something like a pizza bagel you have to be patient! UNICORN BAGELS!? Yes please!!! Came in here after seeing all the beautiful photos of the unicorn bagel, and I was not disappointed! My friend and I got several unicorn bagels, smoothies, the pizza bagel, and various cream cheese to take home and share. The unicorn bagel has a thicker consistency in terms of the dough as they use so many layers, but it is as beautiful as the pictures! The confetti/ birthday cake cream cheese was the perfect topping as it totally fit with the colorful bagel! I really liked the mini pepperonis on the pizza bagel, and the bagel itself tasted just like pizza! I need some more of these in my life! We also got smoothies which tasted yummy, and cookies and cream & cookie butter cream cheese which was HEAVENLY (I love my cream cheese). Yesterday was National Bagel's Day so they were offering free bagels all day. Sounds awesome right? Wrong. When they say free bagel they LITERALLY mean bagel. I don't think I'm upset about the deal, but just more upset with how their employee interacted with us. She was cryptic about the deal and didn't seem eager to explain the details to us. Not sure why she was so upset...we came for the bagel, but we were also purchasing a couple coffees and cream cheese. Cream cheese costs an extra $3. The container is big enough for two bagels so no need to buy more than one. At the end of our interaction, we asked to have our bagels toasted. She gave us a dirty look and said free bagels come as is...ridiculous. Aside from my experience, their bagels are pretty delicious. I ordered their orange cranberry and my friend ordered their spinach herb. Even without it being toasted, the texture of their bagels were spot on. Been here twice and I'm never going back. Would rather drive the 10 mins to I love bagels. First time I went there I asked for a bagel toasted with butter pretty simple right!! Then I went there in the late morning on a weekend, I knew it was going to be a little busy so I would be waiting 10-15 mins for my bagels which I was fine with...AGAIN NOPE I waited 30 mins. People in line behind me for there food before me, If was ridiculous. And to top it all off I asked for EXTRA BUTTER knowing they skim on how much they put on there and again I got my bagel back with little to no butter at all so I wasted another $2.75 on a toasted bagel. And the staff isn't the nicest in the world, could work on being a little friendlier. We've lived 1 minute away from here for years and have only been here twice. Reason? Because it's ALWAYS packed and we get discouraged just driving by. People love it and there are a lot of regulars. Why? you query again. Because the food is solid and who doesn't love brunch al fresco? (Communists and people with allergies, I guess.) So obviously, their mainstay is the bagels but just in my couple visits, I've also realized that their other stuff is just as delicious. Definitely recommend the cinnamon brioche french toast and the Paco's Taco's (ask for extra salsa). As for bagels, you can't go wrong with the "everything". I love their lox schmear and the other one with sundried tomatoes. I bought extra to-go last time. As mentioned, it's a great place to chill, especially if you have pups (outdoors only, of course). It's really not that hard to find a table...but chairs can be hard to come by. Beware the faint smell of horse due to the stables just down the way a little. After your meal, you can go walking in that park that shares a parking lot with B&B. People are friendly and helpful...definitely some place we see ourselves frequenting...if only we can get up early enough! read more

I usually get onion, and I like the breakfast sandwiches better than the lunch. Bryan loves the lunch but that's because he likes chicken breast. The chicken was too dry for me. I'm more of an egg enthusiast. This time we swung by B&B and brought our bagelwiches to Disneyland. Convenient and better value than buying Disney food. Great Bagels and Brew location! It feels very home-y and welcoming. Located in the shopping center, you should have no problem finding parking. I ordered the Chipotle Turkey sandwich on an onion bagel with no bacon. I had caesar salad on the side. This sandwich usually comes on bread with multi layers but I requested it on a bagel instead. It was perfectly light and refreshing and the bagel was delicious. I was very pleased! You really can't go wrong here. I was surprised to see that they offered burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a wide variety of bagels and food. The cookie butter was really good but very, very sweet. I don't know if I could eat a whole bagel full of it. The birthday cake didn't even taste like birthday cake. I was expecting it to taste like funfetti and it tasted like a below average version of plain cream cheese. Super disappointing! The winner for me was the Oreo cream cheese. Even though I didn't like their bagels at all (tasted like cardboard), I would come back just for this cream cheese. It was loaded with Oreo pieces and has just the right amount of sweetness to compliment a bagel.
