2 Egg with Cheese, Bacon or Ham or Sausage
    Alyssa A.

One of my go-tos for a breakfast bagel sandwich in the South Bay! I usually order a sausage, egg, and cheese. To my surprise, this one actually came with two sausage patties. It was very filling. I like to pick the blueberry bagel to offset the savory-ness of everything. The workers are very nice and the orders come out very fast. There is a few tables inside and some outdoor seating.

This was a solid bagel spot. It's a small mom and pop business that just focuses on bagels and bagel sandwiches. It's a casual, no frills type place. The service was friendly and they were quick with orders. There are a few tables to sit at but otherwise it's more of a to-go spot. I only ordered an everything bagel and a sesame bagel. Both were decent sized and super soft to the point where I could cut it with a plastic knife. It was soft enough to eat as is but I like a good toasty edge. I appreciate the toppings were on both sides. There's nothing as disappointing as splitting a bagel with someone and getting stuck with the topping less bottom half. Grrrr... I'd definitely return for a bagel sandwich next time.

Disclaimer: I'm from New York. I've grown up eating bagels my whole life, including my family making them at home. But I'm also not a bagel snob. I don't really care how big the hole is, how fluffy or cakey the bagels are, where the water comes from, etc. I just care if it tastes good. That's it. Driving through the South Bay, I saw there was a bagel shop up the road, and decided to check them out. Whenever I go to a bagel shop, I check for 2 things: 1.) Variety. Do they have a good selection? Maybe I want an everything bagel, maybe I want a blueberry. I gotta see them first hand to know what I want. 2.) Orange Juice. There's nothing like a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice to go with a bagel! Check and check! We're in business. The shop had customers seated at the tables in the front, enjoying conversation over breakfast. This was a good sign. The owner immediately greeted me and asked if I had any questions. He was a very friendly guy, as was the wife and daughter. I'm pretty sure this is a family business, which is very cool, and something I want to support! We had a chat about bagels, New York, Philly, and Los Angeles while the bagels were being made. It's nice to have shop owner who's friendly and personable, especially when they're making your food. The prices are a little higher than usual, but still competitive. So it's fine. The bagel sandwiches were wrapped in Boar's Head foil and given to me in a brown paper bag. I felt like a kid getting my lunch for school. It was very comforting! I grabbed my OJ and headed out. When I opened up the package, the heavenly smell of bacon, egg, and cheese wafted up and filled my car. Purely divine. The bagel sandwich was delicious. The bagel: not too hard, not too soft. Its flavor blended well with the egg, cheese, and bacon (which was nice and crispy). And the orange juice was the perfect chaser. I'm glad I found a new bagel shop to add to my list, and will be sure to check them out again soon!

The food was outstanding, definitely one of the best bagels I have had. Absolutely the best in the South Bay. Also their Vietnamese coffee is such a refreshing drink that will wake you up. Definitely coming back soon! Al's their service was really nice and welcoming!

Delicious fresh bagels and had lots of cream cheese choices! Got their lox which had smoke salmon mixed in and was perfect for crackers you have at home! The cheese bagel was super delicious too!

Excellent Bagelry. Small place with limited seating, but clean and very friendly staff. We were looking for place that we could pick up a quick breakfast and also to keep for lunch. This place was perfect, the fresh breakfast bagel sandwhiches were delicious and the lunch bagels held up well and was great for our lunch. We got two breakfast sandwiches, Denver and NY. One on everything bagel and another on a jalapeño cheddar. Both bagels were soft and fresh, plenty of filling. Both great to eat right away when they're nice and warm For lunch, we got the pastrami on jalapeño cheddar and turkey on garlic bagel. I really enjoyed the pastrami and all of its fillings. The sprouts were nice touch. The turkey was good, standard sandwhich. I made the mistake of throwing them in my backpack since we did a lot walking and wow the you can definitely tell there was garlic on that bagel as my backpack still smells like garlic days later All in all, I'd consider this place a hidden gem. Fair prices, delicious bagels. I'll be back, maybe take some sweet bagels home and their spreads. I do want to try the Vietnamese coffee next time

Best bagels in the South Bay! Family owned, quality on the bagels was amazing. I got a jalapeño cheddar bagel with bacon and red onions and it was Definitely coming back. Family run business as well!

So maybe all these people who give this place 5 star reviews have never been to New York and had a proper bagel.....since the bagels here taste like the substandard bagels one would buy in the refrigerator section at Walmart. They don't boil their bagels here which is an essential step to making a legit bagel that they don't do! Bagels have been one of my favorite foods since I was a little kid. I'm just trying to watch my calories nowadays, so I don't eat them all the time. When I do eat them I have expectations for how a bagel should taste and I unfortunately must say I was very disappointed in the bagels here. (It was my first time coming here to try the bagels). First of all, let me preface this by saying I do love a good bagel with cream cheese and especially a bagel with cream cheese, capers, onions, lox (aka smoked salmon) etc. However, often I'll just opt to eat a bagel like an apple - just whole, uncut and biting into it like one would do a bread roll. By eating a bagel purely that way I have a good palate for how bagels should taste both in flavor and texture. The bagels here are not made the traditional way and instead they are baked like a bread roll and they are NOT boiled the essential way a bagel needs to be to create the signature chewy texture and glossy crust. However I could have maybe let that slide since I was hungry and that would have been fine since a soft fluffy center can makeup for the outside being subpar (the outside is soft with a weird doughy mushy coating - clearly skipping the essential boiling step), HOWEVER what I couldn't get past was the ucky flavor. The dough was just so sweet! I got a sourdough bagel and it didn't even taste remotely like sourdough because it was so sickening sweet. I also got a plain bagel (thinking maybe I accidentally got a 'sugar bagel' instead of sourdough) and that plain bagel, if you can believe it, was even sweeter! After a few bites just threw these bagels away in the trash since they weren't worth the calories and I literally googled the next closest bagel store (across the street a block!) and drove there because I had already decided I would be eating bagels today - just not these subpar bagels. If I wasn't a nice person, I would give this bagel restaurant a 1 star and never return!!! However, the employees were really nice and I feel bad giving a 1 star reviews when there is good service and nice people who are the owners/workers (I reserve giving my 1 star reviews for when the entire experience is horrific), so I'm going to give 3 stars but it's 3 stars for the nice people running the store and ZERO stars for the taste of the bagels! Maybe instead buy a pastry here? Their dough is so sweet it's probably the same dough for the pastries?! However, I for sure won't return!

Sad to write this review :( bagels are not bad, you do have to ask for them to be cut in half though. I'm more disappointed because the chive cream cheese is not chive but more green onion cream cheese

Plain "Bagel" & Lox Cream Cheese
    L D.

I would call these bagel adjacent. If there were such a thing as a baguette bagel, this would probably be similar. The inside texture is airy and the outside is crisp. I would have preferred more lox cream cheese because it is fairly thick and a bit dry. I'll have to try one of their breakfast "bagels" to see if added ingredients helps. The service was pleasant and prompt. Overall, I would try it again, but ask for extra cream cheese.

This place is a hidden gem! Absolutely delicious bagels, a variety of different cream cheeses, bagels, and drinks. I had a Vietnamese coffee and my boyfriend and I shared an everything bagel and jalapeño cream cheese as well as an Asiago cheese bagel with chive cream cheese and they were delicious! We will definitely be back again!

    Spinach Parmesan bagel
    Cindy D.

The spinach parmesan and jalapeño cheese bagels were very chewy and dense . There were hardly any pieces of jalapeños or spinach to be seen, but there was a slight green tint to the spinach parmesan bagels (spinach "juice"). It costs approximately $2.25 for each "specialty" bagel, which is comparably a good price for freshly made bagels. They're not the best bagels but also not a lot of options in the South Bay so good enough. Plus, you will be supporting a small family owned business and they seem like a nice family.

One of the things I haven't mentioned was that the restaurant was very crowded during my first visit. I also don't have as much experiance writing reviews at around the time when I gave the rating. But I firmly believe that the reasoning for the three star was because of my conflicted thoughts with the tasting aspect of the food, I felt that the green garden avacado toast egg sandwich which lacked in flavor along with the cinnamon muffin. So in short, I didn't really enjoy the food personally. But objectively, the experiance was very well--Which is why I am changing my rating. As I have previously mentioned on the last review--I did, however, enjoy the ambiance of the place. The decor and overall concept is quite amazing. The cafe had a contemporary vibe and the patterns were unique in a way that made it stand out. The service was also good, had no concerns regarding the staff. But to sum everything up, I do believe that a four would be a more reasonable rating than the previous. But I did decide to give the place another try and did end up enjoying it, along with understanding more about writing reviews. So I sincerely apologize for giving the place a low rating without explaining specifics.

A Surprisingly Good Matcha Experience…read more I was out running errands around the Del Amo Mall over the weekend and had gotten an early start to beat the Los Angeles South Bay heat. I also had to make a stop at the Torrance Farmers Market for my groceries, so I was trying to stay hydrated and caffeinated without drinking something hot. I've had a complicated relationship with matcha. My first attempt ordering it on my own was not great -- I found it very earthy and bitter. Since then, I've learned that matcha can vary quite a bit depending on the preparation and quality, and I've come to appreciate a smoother, more approachable style. The last time I tried matcha with my best friend, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and enjoyable it could actually be. So I decided to give Philz a try, because Philz has never let me down. And if I don't like something, their staff are always happy to help make it right. I placed a mobile order for the Strawberry Matcha, and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for! One thing I especially appreciate about Philz is that oat milk is the default in many of their drinks. As someone who is milk-sensitive and also just doesn't enjoy the taste of whole milk, I LOVE not having to remember to modify my order. It makes ordering so much easier. When I arrived, my drink was ready quickly, even though there were probably 10+ mobile orders already waiting to be picked up. The Strawberry Matcha was refreshing, smooth, and delicious -- exactly what I needed on a hot South Bay day. The location was clean, the staff were friendly, and the barista even checked in to see if I liked the drink. I definitely did! Funny enough, I went into Philz that day thinking I didn't want coffee, tea, or my usual Yerba Mate... and walked out having discovered another caffeinated drink I actually really enjoy.
