This was a solid bagel spot. It's a small mom and pop business that just focuses on bagels and bagel sandwiches. It's a casual, no frills type place. The service was friendly and they were quick with orders. There are a few tables to sit at but otherwise it's more of a to-go spot. I only ordered an everything bagel and a sesame bagel. Both were decent sized and super soft to the point where I could cut it with a plastic knife. It was soft enough to eat as is but I like a good toasty edge. I appreciate the toppings were on both sides. There's nothing as disappointing as splitting a bagel with someone and getting stuck with the topping less bottom half. Grrrr... I'd definitely return for a bagel sandwich next time.

Disclaimer: I'm from New York. I've grown up eating bagels my whole life, including my family making them at home. But I'm also not a bagel snob. I don't really care how big the hole is, how fluffy or cakey the bagels are, where the water comes from, etc. I just care if it tastes good. That's it. Driving through the South Bay, I saw there was a bagel shop up the road, and decided to check them out. Whenever I go to a bagel shop, I check for 2 things: 1.) Variety. Do they have a good selection? Maybe I want an everything bagel, maybe I want a blueberry. I gotta see them first hand to know what I want. 2.) Orange Juice. There's nothing like a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice to go with a bagel! Check and check! We're in business. The shop had customers seated at the tables in the front, enjoying conversation over breakfast. This was a good sign. The owner immediately greeted me and asked if I had any questions. He was a very friendly guy, as was the wife and daughter. I'm pretty sure this is a family business, which is very cool, and something I want to support! We had a chat about bagels, New York, Philly, and Los Angeles while the bagels were being made. It's nice to have shop owner who's friendly and personable, especially when they're making your food. The prices are a little higher than usual, but still competitive. So it's fine. The bagel sandwiches were wrapped in Boar's Head foil and given to me in a brown paper bag. I felt like a kid getting my lunch for school. It was very comforting! I grabbed my OJ and headed out. When I opened up the package, the heavenly smell of bacon, egg, and cheese wafted up and filled my car. Purely divine. The bagel sandwich was delicious. The bagel: not too hard, not too soft. Its flavor blended well with the egg, cheese, and bacon (which was nice and crispy). And the orange juice was the perfect chaser. I'm glad I found a new bagel shop to add to my list, and will be sure to check them out again soon!

The food was outstanding, definitely one of the best bagels I have had. Absolutely the best in the South Bay. Also their Vietnamese coffee is such a refreshing drink that will wake you up. Definitely coming back soon! Al's their service was really nice and welcoming!

Best bagels in the South Bay! Family owned, quality on the bagels was amazing. I got a jalapeño cheddar bagel with bacon and red onions and it was Definitely coming back. Family run business as well!

Delicious fresh bagels and had lots of cream cheese choices! Got their lox which had smoke salmon mixed in and was perfect for crackers you have at home! The cheese bagel was super delicious too!

Excellent Bagelry. Small place with limited seating, but clean and very friendly staff. We were looking for place that we could pick up a quick breakfast and also to keep for lunch. This place was perfect, the fresh breakfast bagel sandwhiches were delicious and the lunch bagels held up well and was great for our lunch. We got two breakfast sandwiches, Denver and NY. One on everything bagel and another on a jalapeño cheddar. Both bagels were soft and fresh, plenty of filling. Both great to eat right away when they're nice and warm For lunch, we got the pastrami on jalapeño cheddar and turkey on garlic bagel. I really enjoyed the pastrami and all of its fillings. The sprouts were nice touch. The turkey was good, standard sandwhich. I made the mistake of throwing them in my backpack since we did a lot walking and wow the you can definitely tell there was garlic on that bagel as my backpack still smells like garlic days later All in all, I'd consider this place a hidden gem. Fair prices, delicious bagels. I'll be back, maybe take some sweet bagels home and their spreads. I do want to try the Vietnamese coffee next time

Sad to write this review :( bagels are not bad, you do have to ask for them to be cut in half though. I'm more disappointed because the chive cream cheese is not chive but more green onion cream cheese

So maybe all these people who give this place 5 star reviews have never been to New York and had a proper bagel.....since the bagels here taste like the substandard bagels one would buy in the refrigerator section at Walmart. They don't boil their bagels here which is an essential step to making a legit bagel that they don't do! Bagels have been one of my favorite foods since I was a little kid. I'm just trying to watch my calories nowadays, so I don't eat them all the time. When I do eat them I have expectations for how a bagel should taste and I unfortunately must say I was very disappointed in the bagels here. (It was my first time coming here to try the bagels). First of all, let me preface this by saying I do love a good bagel with cream cheese and especially a bagel with cream cheese, capers, onions, lox (aka smoked salmon) etc. However, often I'll just opt to eat a bagel like an apple - just whole, uncut and biting into it like one would do a bread roll. By eating a bagel purely that way I have a good palate for how bagels should taste both in flavor and texture. The bagels here are not made the traditional way and instead they are baked like a bread roll and they are NOT boiled the essential way a bagel needs to be to create the signature chewy texture and glossy crust. However I could have maybe let that slide since I was hungry and that would have been fine since a soft fluffy center can makeup for the outside being subpar (the outside is soft with a weird doughy mushy coating - clearly skipping the essential boiling step), HOWEVER what I couldn't get past was the ucky flavor. The dough was just so sweet! I got a sourdough bagel and it didn't even taste remotely like sourdough because it was so sickening sweet. I also got a plain bagel (thinking maybe I accidentally got a 'sugar bagel' instead of sourdough) and that plain bagel, if you can believe it, was even sweeter! After a few bites just threw these bagels away in the trash since they weren't worth the calories and I literally googled the next closest bagel store (across the street a block!) and drove there because I had already decided I would be eating bagels today - just not these subpar bagels. If I wasn't a nice person, I would give this bagel restaurant a 1 star and never return!!! However, the employees were really nice and I feel bad giving a 1 star reviews when there is good service and nice people who are the owners/workers (I reserve giving my 1 star reviews for when the entire experience is horrific), so I'm going to give 3 stars but it's 3 stars for the nice people running the store and ZERO stars for the taste of the bagels! Maybe instead buy a pastry here? Their dough is so sweet it's probably the same dough for the pastries?! However, I for sure won't return!

Plain "Bagel" & Lox Cream Cheese

I would call these bagel adjacent. If there were such a thing as a baguette bagel, this would probably be similar. The inside texture is airy and the outside is crisp. I would have preferred more lox cream cheese because it is fairly thick and a bit dry. I'll have to try one of their breakfast "bagels" to see if added ingredients helps. The service was pleasant and prompt. Overall, I would try it again, but ask for extra cream cheese.

First time here with the family and everything was delicious. We got here about 830 AM and it was perfect timing because a big wave came right after. Everything was made to order and quick.

This place is a hidden gem! Absolutely delicious bagels, a variety of different cream cheeses, bagels, and drinks. I had a Vietnamese coffee and my boyfriend and I shared an everything bagel and jalapeño cream cheese as well as an Asiago cheese bagel with chive cream cheese and they were delicious! We will definitely be back again!

We decided to visit Riviera village after a relaxing morning stroll through Torrance Beach. Since…read moreit was almost noon, we searched on Yelp and decided to have some crepes for lunch. The restaurant has inside seating for 40 guests and outside for 30. We arrived between breakfast and lunchtime and were able to get the last outside table. The attentive staff got us seated right away, and after browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items (arrived in 15 minutes) : Marine: The buckwheat outer layer was soft, not soggy, and with nice resistance. The light creamy tomato-based dressing with sliced mushrooms was pleasantly flavorful. Both shrimp and scallops were of good size, fresh and juicy. Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Seasoned bacon, scrambled egg, onion, and mushroom added nice savoriness to the dish. The portions were sensible and the prices were reasonable. Very nice culinary experience.

Been coming here a few times a month over the past 3 years, always loved it…read more But recently it really became subpar... First the food size is becoming ridiculous (au gratin potatoes so small) The service is where I'm shocked, the waiting staff turnover is crazy. I was there last Sunday evening (05/24) and one of the waiter with a French accent looks like he just started that day, he was clueless about the menu, didn't know what was the soup of the day, and very inattentive to our table (water refill, empty plates...) like he just wanted our tips ! Also I'm sorry about that one but he had a foul smell like he just finished working out... the table next to us was saying the same thing. I came back on Friday (05/29)early afternoon and seen the same waiter still no refill and same foul smell Im going to try their other locations in PV or Hermosa and see if I'm lucky and they're like that location used to be

Their chai latte is absolutely generational, and you really can't go wrong with any of the croissants. The ham and cheese is my favorite, but they're all incredible. I also highly recommend the chouquettes if you're looking for a little sweet treat, and the tiramisu is amazing too. One tip: try to get there before 1 p.m. Like most bakeries, the pastries and breads are at their absolute best earlier in the day. If you're planning on picking up a baguette or dinner rolls to take home, definitely arrive early because they can sell out. Overall, Sweet Wheat is an absolute generational South Bay find. If you're looking for an authentic French bakery with amazing coffee, pastries, and breakfast, this place absolutely deserves a spot on your list.

My latte was just ok but my mom thought the cappuccino was really good. Service was good. I was pretty indecisive going back and forth looking through the options and the guy was very patient. CUTE AND YUMMY Love…read morethis bright and homey cafe in the heart of Redondo's Riviera Village! Grateful my friend has a daughter who lives in town and suggested it; otherwise, I never would have noticed it. Even though it was a Sunday morning, we immediately found seats inside. Of course it was a cheery yellow interior with lots of floral accents, hence "Yellow Vase." After perusing the extensive menu at our table, we realized we had to order and pay at the counter, where they were doing a bustling business with tempting pastries and fresh java. They gave us a number to place on our table to let them know where to deliver our food. My old pal from high school (Yes, we've known each other for DECADES!), always leans towards lox for breakfast. It was no surprise that she ordered the Smoked Salmon Plate ($16.95). The salmon arrived on a fresh French baguette with capers, red onion, tomatoes and cream cheese. I like variety, so the 2 by 2 ($16.95) was right up my alley. The two pieces of French toast were homemade perfection. So were the two scrambled eggs, the two chicken sausages and the rosemary potatoes. What an ample, delicious brunch. We were too busy catching up to photograph our meal, though. Sorry, 'cause it was pretty! Just wish the water cups were larger as we had to make several trips to the H20 station for refills. Follow the yellow brick road - I mean Catalina Avenue - and go!

We started with the salmon poke and it was uniquely marinated and delicious (would think about getting this as my main next time). My son order the pick three (they also have a pick two). He got clam chowder which creamy and also uniquely flavored, it had bacon, he had the fish tacos which were delicious, the toppings made them even better, and the furikake fries. I ordered the steak sandwich, it was really good but a lot sweeter than I expected with a shallot jam. The bread was toasty and the melty cheese was great. We shared the fries but even had some extra to bring home. The only thing I didn't love was my cocktail. I don't remember what it was called some spicy tropical drink. It would have been ok but there was some cherry foam on top that I don't think was listed on the menu. I dislike cherry flavored stuff it tastes like cough syrup to me. So if I'd known I would have ordered something else or ordered it without the cherry. I would definitely come back again. I especially recommend the lunch specials they are a good price. The service was great! After lunch we walk down to the beach to enjoy the beautiful views!
