Loved their bagel selection. There were the real thing. Staff was friendly. Ate their twice, and will make it my go to for breakfast (skipping the free breakfast at the hotel). Driving through Bozeman and we were going to go to Main Street over easy but they were packed since it is a Sunday morning so we decided to try bagel works. I am so glad we did because they were amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. While this place is probably the most fairly priced place to get a breakfast sandwich they're usually exceptionally slow at getting your food out and the last time my Husband and I went there the young man who took our order had very very VERY long finger nails that were dirty underneath, he had long hair too that was in a hair net but should have also been pulled back in to a bun or ponytail. This was my first time going to Bagel Works. I moved here about a year and 1/2 ago and was told to try it because it was "good". I had family come into town and we decided to stop there for breakfast. Upon arriving, there were quite a few people inside so we figured this was what "busy" looked like for this establishment. We ordered 4 bagels and stood around, waiting. There is very little seating. If you are uncomfortable in small spaces or have chronic pain of some sort while standing I'd recommend eating somewhere else. After having waited, I don't know, a long 30 minutes.. a large line began to form. Now we understood what "busy" REALLY was for this joint. Single orders were being thrown out left and right, but our order was nowhere to be found.. so we asked about it. Our order was at the front of the receipt pile and they said they were working on it so we waited a bit longer. After AN HOUR I decided we could no longer wait. We had places to be and we were getting hangry. I confronted one of the employees and asked about our order. I explained that we had been waiting an hour. He told me it was busy and we had to wait. We were here before this line even started. How hard is it to get 4 bagels out? You've been throwing out bagels like hotcakes and our receipt is still at the front of the line. Of course after all of this hastle and rude interaction we finally received our order. I've made better bagels at home. In retrospect I probably should have made them at home given the amount of time we spent waiting. Don't eat here. The service is terrible and the food is mediocre at best. I don't usually leave reviews because I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to wait times and poor service because I get it, I really do, but this experience definitely called for one. 10/10 DON'T RECOMMEND. read more

I used to love this place when I went to Montana State a few years back, but nostalgia does not help save what remains of bagelworks. Bagelworks used to be THE place to go for hangover cures before skiing. Bagels may be good and this may be the only place in town, but it will be a long time before I ever set foot in here again. My family stopped in yesterday morning to grab some breakfast to go before driving to Missoula. There was no line when we came in, so we stepped right to the counter and ordered. We paid and were given our drinks. We then stood around for at least ten minutes and watched as many people arrived after us and were served before us. At some point my wife inquired about the status of our order and were told rudely that "eggs take longer!" When my wife's name was called (after maybe 20 minutes of waiting), it turned out to be for another customer who came in well after us and shared the same name. At that point my wife insisted they look at the queued up orders to see where our order was. They found it in a bag, where it had been sitting for who-knows-how-many minutes. We were handed the bag without an apology. Their excuse for not calling my wife's name? The person who took the order marked it as a "call in" order. And we were treated as if this was somehow our fault. Needless to say, my bacon, egg and cheese bagel was lukewarm, and my first and last experience at Bagelworks was even colder. read more

This is my favorite place to get a yummy breakfast in Bozeman! I have discovered the egg sandwich. Where I come in California they call it an "eggwich" but for some reason I have never tasted one so delicious as at Bagelworks! I always get a works bagel with egg, bacon, sausage, and cheddar. Simple but delish! I should ask for my bagel to be toasted beforehand but I always forget. Remember it may take some time for all the ingredients to be put together... For my bagel it usually takes 10-15 min unless they are uber busy. If I take my bagel home sometimes I add lettuce, though the sandwich is already so awesomely filled with deliciousness that it's almost too big to fit In my mouth! I go to Bagelworks at least twice (or thrice) a week, and when I can't, I attempt make a similar bagel sandwich at home but it is never, ever as delicious! The staff are usually friendly but I think tired because they have to bake the bagels and get up at 2:30am. Sometimes I wish I could get more smiles, they all seem so friendly! But, totally understandable demeanor when one has to get up so early...Love Bagelworks! read more

This was our first visit here and there were only two couples ahead of us. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and it took over 15 minutes to get our sandwiches. There were four girls there, three were talking and laughing and talking about gloves sizes and doing nothing else, one was working....like a snail. My husband had to be to class in four minutes so we went back to the cashier to get a refund so we could leave. They would not give us a refund, instead they gave us cold sandwiches, assuring us that they were done. My girlfriend and I come here once every couple of weeks and normally are satisfied with the food. Let's be real, bagel places normally have great success. Regardless of their good food however, we are less than satisfied with their customer service. There hasn't been one time when we have been that the customer service was decent. They try and rush you through the order as though they have somewhere better to be, they have (only twice in my experience but even once was enough) double charged for an order. On the line (the folks making the bagels) are normally the rudest and couldn't look more unhappy. I've been made to feel like a burden every time I am called up to pick up my order. A friendly thank you or a response to my thanks could go a long way. I hope others would agree with me as well that they are SLOW at preparing bagels: with us waiting sometimes up to 30 minutes to get our order. This happens on both their busy and slow days. Honestly I don't have high expectations from a fast food bagel joint but I felt as though their complete lack of customer service was noteworthy. Don't get me wrong there are some friendly faces but they sometimes have a hard time shining through the general cloud of gloom. Lol @ the lady who thinks this is a chain whose Missoula location isn't pulling its weight. She probably went to Bagels on Broadway and was justifiably put off by their gross, plasticky, bloated blobs of dough. Anyway, I'm obsessed with THESE bagels because, unlike their Missoulian counterparts, they don't look/taste like they came from a gas station. Instead, they are exactly what bagels should be: chewy, dense, and covered in a crispy, blistery crust. Everybody working here is always really nice. Only gripe is that they close early. read more

I haven't been to this place for a while and this is why. We went one day and I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich and when I got it (after waiting a while) it was a barely toasted plain bagel (I asked for jalapeño) and it had some over cooked eggs and two slices of bad bacon on it. That's it! No mayo, salsa, hashbrowns or anything that would come on a breakfast bagel sandwich! It was bland and awful and the workers were too busy to care about it. The product itself is great, or the bagel are great I should say. And if a bagel was all that I was purchasing, I would have given 4-5 stars. But the atmosphere at bagel works just seems chaotic and unorganized and the workers seemed rushed and stressed which makes me almost feel bad for being there. The employees don't just not smile, they look almost sad, or worse angry. None of the employees seem happy to be there. The grill people seem rushed and overworked, the people taking orders seemed confused and as a result seem to try and rush through customers. If I wanted to be treated like a number I would go to McDonalds or BK; I didn't expect that at a local establishment. Maybe better management is needed or something in their method is off. Either way, my stars are a result of the employees attitudes and how slow things are (which might be a reflection of how they're managed). The food is great and if you're grabbing and going I would go there. If you plan to sit down and not feel like your a burden to the employees I would recommend Bagels Etc. I love this place, and was a regular when I lived in Bozeman. Now when I travel through for work, I make sure to get in here. Last week I picked up some bagels and cream cheese for a meeting, and also got a sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese for myself. Still as delicious as ever! The bagels are soooo good: chewy and dense on the inside with a good crust on the outside. They also make all their own flavored cream cheeses here, so they're especially yummy! The service is always friendly, and this place will always be on my "must visit" list when I'm in the neighborhood! read more
