Stopped into Baguettes for the first time the other, in search of a coffee drink. While being next door at the aquactic center for a birthday party. Talked to the owner (Paula) who was very cordial, as I asked about their drinks. She noted she had coffee that's French pressed which I'm familiar with since I've had my own. While talking to Paul's I learned she makes all of his break from scratch every morning amd has done so for the 18 yrs Baguettes had been open in that plaza. And provides a nice small town vibe, which it's decor and presence. Overall: Baguettes has a variety of sandwiches and baked goods to offer, with a very friendly owner.

When you walk in you have a mini bar to sit at and chat with the friendly lady behind the counter. You see the yummy treats in the case to choose from. I asked for a glass to get some water in the canister. I ordered the Alaskan salmon patty and substituted mustard for the pesto mayo with broccoli salad. After I ordered, I got to see the cute dining area with the little chef showing specials. I enjoyed my sandwich with the pretty little thank you sticker at the edge. This little sentiment makes me feel valued as a customer. I would return as a customer to try some of the other sandwiches and maybe a sweet treat. The food tasted delicious and the lady behind the counter was welcoming and inviting.

A great spot for a sandwich to dip into your soup. The owner is holding it down by herself and doing a great job! The baked goods are always difficult to pass up! Must try spot for a solid lunch

My friend recommended Baguettes & I was like cool. I LOVE sandwiches. It's located in an old strip mall & appears to be small when you first walk in. But there is a dining room full of plenty of places to sit. And a dog friendly patio outside. I ordered the grilled ham & cheese panini and didn't omit anything, I'm usually a little picky. It had ham, cream cheese, homemade sweet apricot preserves and sliced jalapenos on house made sourdough ciabatta. I loved it! Ate half & was full but ate the other half as soon as I got home. Hubby took a bite & said it was good. Mine came with house made chips & salsa. I ate every bit of that, was the bomb! My friend order ed Angie's turkey sandwich. It had turkey breast, cream cheese, house made plum pepper jam, alfalfa sprouts, granny smith apples served on sourdough focaccia. She said it was good. She had house made soup & said it was good! I recommended to my sister & niece and they will be going there soon! Paula is a little quiet, probably busy concentrating on your order but friendly if you strike up a conversation. I'll be back soon with my husband & pups!

We tried this place again to see if it was the same as when it opened. We arrived late lunch and there were only three cars in the lot and I think 2 were from the place. I poked my head in and made sure they were open. I ordered the zupa soup and the tri tip special. The soup has Italian sausage in it. It had good flavor but was kind of cold. I suggested that she make the soups hotter. She said it was boiling it the pot so I just turned it off. Are you not supposed to have food at a certain temperature. The sandwich was just ok , not much meat in it. When I got to the end I opened it up and there wasn't anymore meat in it. My wife got the California turkey and it was had focaccia bread but it was really soggy and didn't taste to good. Her avocado was cut weird and stuck out of the sandwich. It needed to be sliced thinner or smashed down. The turkey wasn't made by they like before.I It tasted like from package meats. I guess they want to make more money and skimpy on quality like when they opened long ago. Oh well

09.06.2026 - Xulo Coffee Bar , Elk Grove, California…read more Sometimes, all you need is a good cup of coffee, something sweet, and a cozy place to sit for a while. That was exactly what I was looking for when I walked into Xulo Coffee Bar--a place where I could hopefully study, enjoy my coffee, and take in the atmosphere. I ordered an iced Mexican Mocha along with a Fruity Pebbles Concha, and honestly, it turned out to be such a satisfying pairing. The Mexican Mocha had that extra kick I was hoping for. The flavor was rich and deep with chocolate and cream, along with a subtle hint of cinnamon that gave it a warm, comforting finish. Even though I ordered mine iced, I couldn't help but imagine how perfectly the sweet pastry would pair with a hot Mexican Mocha on a cool morning. And the Fruity Pebbles Concha? Whatever you want to officially call it, the texture and taste reminded me of a concha with a fun and colorful twist. It was sweet, soft, and delicious--and paired wonderfully with my coffee. The café itself was full of life. It was packed with people, many of whom appeared to be enjoying brunch and spending time with friends and family. Latin music played in the background--the kind of music that makes you want to get up and dance a little salsa between sips of coffee. I came hoping to settle in and study for a while, although my search for a nearby outlet may have shortened my stay. But honestly, I didn't mind. Sometimes the best part of visiting a café isn't how long you stay--it's the experience you have while you're there. The staff was incredibly friendly, the café was spotless, and the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and full of energy. There was something about the music, the aroma of coffee, and the conversations happening around me that made the experience feel comforting and memorable. Xulo Coffee Bar is definitely a place I would return to. Whether you're looking for a flavorful coffee, a sweet treat, brunch, or simply a lively café to enjoy for a while, this is a spot worth checking out. I loved my experience here--and I have a feeling my next visit will include trying even more from the menu.

Our order included chilaquiles with extra avocado, avocado toast, two Mexican mochas, and pan de muerto. With tax and tip, we paid $64.32, so this was not a cheap breakfast. We paid at 11:21 a.m. My husband did not receive his chilaquiles until 12:07 p.m., and my avocado toast arrived at 12:10 p.m. (49 minutes later). While I was still waiting, the waiter said, "I'll be back with your waffles," even though I had ordered avocado toast with no egg. The chilaquiles and Mexican mochas were good. However, the avocado toast had absolutely no flavor, and the potatoes had no seasoning. I only ate them because I had paid for them. I understand that restaurants get busy, but at a minimum, staff should check in, acknowledge the delay, and reassure customers that they haven't been forgotten. Instead, we waited nearly 50 minutes with very little communication. The long wait, order confusion, lack of communication, and bland food made the overall experience disappointing, especially at this price. If you decide to go to Xulo, hold off on tip until after you receive your food and see how the service actually is on that day. Don't make the same mistake I made. For excellent chilaquiles and service, just go to Blue Agave!

I was put off by the blue cheese mash beneath it a bit but it's ok because the short rib was so delicious. For dessert I had the berry crumb cobbler. The cobbler came with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was great! The berries were sweet and the crumb top was so buttery. Everything flowed deliciously. This is a fair review…read more Mimi's is definitely a cozy spot with excellent staff, but quality can be hit or miss. I've been dining at Mimi's Cafe for many years, and while it still holds a lot of cozy charm, it's definitely a mixed bag now vs. 15-20 yrs ago. It was 5 stars back then. The Positives... *Friendly Staff: The service here is consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. *Cozy Ambience: The restaurant provides a great, comfortable atmosphere that is particularly relaxing and ideal for older adults. Tbh I have an old soul with some social anxiety. So Mimi's became an instant fav in my 20s for the ambience alone. *Great Brunch Selections: The menu offers a fantastic variety that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It's truly all about the brunch at Mimi's! I don't think they could ever mess up a pancake, waffle, or French toast. *The muffins: Their muffins are unbeatable! So delicious and fresh. The Downsides... *Bland Flavors: Certain classic menu items have become a bit bland and lack the rich, robust taste they had 15 to 20 years ago. *High Price Point: For the quality you receive, the prices feels a bit too high. Plus they have done away with the free bread and carrot cake baskets. Although I believe they may still give you free bread, but you'll have to ask. *Timing Affects Quality: The timing of your order matters immensely. If you order a breakfast item during evening hours, parts of it might arrive tasting old, hard, and reheated. Recommendation:It remains a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. We dined at Original Mike's Diner on a Thursday evening to take advantage of their senior night…read morespecial, where regular menu items (excluding steak and the senior menu) are 50% off from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM when you order a beverage. It's a great deal and made it easy to justify trying one of their signature comfort-food plates. Here's what I got: 4pc Broaster Chicken The Broaster chicken dinner was the standout and easily my favorite part of the dinner. The four-piece meal is regularly priced at $19.99 and comes with a choice of side, plus garlic toast or cornbread, along with a salad. The chicken arrived golden, crispy, and exactly how broasted chicken should be--moist inside with a crunchy exterior that tasted fresh, not greasy. I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were creamy with chunks of potato whipped within. They were topped with country gravy, turning these spuds into full-on comfort food. The cornbread was a large, satisfying portion; the whipped butter and honey on top rounded it out nicely and made it feel like a classic diner treat. Vegetable and Salad The vegetable side was the one miss on the plate. The zucchini, broccoli, squash and carrots seemed to be steamed and were noticeably overcooked and sitting in water, which made them soggy. The side salad, on the other hand, was solid. I opted for blue cheese dressing, which tasted like it was made in-house and added a lot of flavor. There were a few pieces of lettuce with brown edges that I just removed, but overall the salad was fresh enough and a nice way to start the meal. Service was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted right away, offered a choice of a booth or table, and seated quickly, even though it was senior night and the discount window can draw a crowd. The interior looks and feels like a classic diner: red accents, country-style decor on the walls, a TV with the news playing, and a front counter where you pay as you leave. Near the entrance there's a pie case showing off their desserts--in particular, an apple pie that looked very tempting and is on my list to try next time. Overall, Original Mike's Diner delivers satisfying diner food, warm service, and a straightforward, old-school atmosphere, with the Broaster chicken and sides carrying the experience. The overcooked veggies keep it from being a perfect visit, but the generous senior discount and friendly staff make this an easy 4-star spot I'm happy to return to--especially on Thursday nights.
