Seafood Pasta omit the talapia, where is Waldo for the crab
    Nyla S.

Uhmmmmmmmm to be completely honest Bahama Bob's really threw me for a loop. The name matches the homely decor and the menu tried to compete but fell short overall to me. They have four pool tables, a juke box and the vibe was really laid back. I tried the charbroiled oysters, peal and eat shrimp, a order of fries and the seafood pasta (minus the fish because who TF puts talapia on their menu or in their pasta?). The seafood pasta was simply their shrimp Alfredo mixed with a little marinara (thus turning the sauce pink) In my humble opinion don't call it a seafood pasta when the crab is literally no where to be found. I dug through it for awhile before I asked my server about it and she said it's blended up in the sauce(??) my mind was blown because even the taste of crab was faint to none. But, I didn't need to add any seasoning because the flavor wasn't bad, just one level and it's simply advertised wrong. Nothing was memorable really but my bartender/server Becky (she was amazing all around the board) I wish I could give her this review because it would've definitely been 5-stars! This was my first experience in Pooler, GA and I won't be rushing to come back.

    BEWARE

Beware.... If you see a sign posted with this message don't waste time, energy or money. This place needs lots of improvement: starting with the booth seating which sinks down like its over 50 yrs old; The server recommended, grilled oysters, very nasty and to charred, crab dip that was barely luke warm as if they zapped it in the microwave and all you could taste was cheese, then the Gumbo soup - pure nasty and taste like water. Our total for 3 items and 2 drinks totaled $64.01 and we didn't even eat but 3 of the 12 oysters, 2 bites of soup and 2 bites of crab dip. The server knew we were unhappy with the quality of the food considering she had to take it off the table and just was like oh well!

This was pleasantly surprisingly good! The shrimp and crabs was fresh and the crab chowder was outstanding. Steamed plates had lots of good seasonings and was hot. The Oysters were very good!!

Food was good, my husband loved the soup. The waitress was fantastic. We walked in on a Saturday late afternoon and got a quick table, he was able to watch the game on one of their many TVs and we still made our movie with time to spare.

Food here was very tasty. Service was so-so. I sat for at least 15 mins before anyone appeared to take my order. I feel maybe they were short of help. It is more of a sports bar/ restaurant. However; the food was tasty and I will visit again next time I am in town.

Was not impressed with food, facility, or staff. It's a dive bar atmosphere... didn't like it.

I was preparing to head out of town and needed to grab a quick bite so I went to Yelp looking for…read moresomething. I actually ended up on DoorDash checking out their happy hour deals and low behold Wayback burger had a great deal on their burgers for DoorDash 's happy hour. I ordered the original burger, lettuce, tomato onion add mayo, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my choice. The burger was juicy with fresh ingredients and they serve it on a potato bun I believe that's really soft. When I visited the store to pick up my order, there wasn't really anybody in there so service was immediate. But the restaurant is clean, spacious and well lit so if you do want to eat your burger there, there's more than enough room. I've tried out Wayback burgers in a couple of different states including Arizona and North Carolina over the last year or two and I'm slowly becoming a fan.

My family and I stopped by Wayback Burgers in Pooler this past weekend on a Saturday around noon…read more I'll start with the positives, because there are quite a few. The restaurant was very clean, which I always appreciate. The food was delicious, and the pricing honestly surprised me--in a good way. For four people with drinks, our total came out to $62, which is significantly cheaper than many other burger spots these days. One of my kids ordered a kids cheeseburger meal, and it was a great size for a child. I ordered The Cheesy burger--two patties, three cheese slices, and the bun is flipped inside out. It's definitely unique, and if you're curious, just look at my photo because it speaks for itself. Another person in our group did a custom burger, and everyone agreed the burgers were filling and well-made. The fries were absolutely delicious, and the cook was super nice, which didn't go unnoticed. Now for the not-so-great part. The woman at the front counter who took our order was... not welcoming. No hello, no smile, and honestly she looked like she hated being there. The restaurant wasn't busy at all--we were the only customers--so it wasn't a stress or crowd issue. It felt more like a morale problem than anything else. Because of that, I'm not sure if I'd rush back solely due to the customer service, which is unfortunate because the food itself was really good. If the front-of-house experience matched the quality of the food, this place would be an easy repeat visit.

Rain has a way of making you hungrier for the right kind of food. We walked into Georgia Comfort…read moreKitchen off I-95 on one of those gray, damp Georgia afternoons, and from the first bowl of gumbo, the weather outside stopped mattering entirely. We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet -- though both were available and the buffet looked well-stocked and genuinely tempting. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits: Georgia shrimp over stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and a sherry cream sauce. Rumor had it that was the move, and the rumor was right. The grits alone were the kind you don't stop talking about -- velvety, deeply seasoned, the kind of base that makes everything sitting on top of it taste better than it already is. I went with the fried catfish, a side of mac and cheese, and a bowl of gumbo. Honest take: the catfish itself was good -- the fish was fresh and well-flavored -- but the batter had gone a little soggy, which kept it from landing where it could have. That's the kind of thing that varies by timing, not kitchen quality. The mac and cheese, though, was exactly what you want: cheesy without being gluey, hot all the way through, properly indulgent. And the gumbo -- chicken and sausage, rich and built with patience -- was the best thing on my side of the table. On a rainy afternoon in coastal Georgia, it was exactly right. Then there was the cornbread, served with peach cobbler butter. That detail alone tells you something about how this kitchen thinks. It's not an afterthought. It completed everything around it. I'm not from the South, and I won't pretend to have a lifetime of comparison points. But there's a kind of food that makes you feel like you were born into it anyway -- like your body already knew what it was tasting. That's what happened here. Good for road trippers, families, rainy days, and anyone who needs a real meal after a long stretch of highway. Four stars, with the grits alone pulling hard toward four and a half.
