    Margaritas!
    Typhanie B.

Longhorn has some really delicious food. Sometimes I come for the drinking and appetizers and some days I go all in. Today was a go all in day. I started out taking pictures, and of course I forgot to snap the main course. The bread was warm and delicious, complete with butter. I ordered the dragonfruit margarita, so yum, I'll return for another soon... long pour! The Caesar salad was crisp, with the perfect amount of croutons, Parmesan, and the dressing was perfect. My ribeye was awesome, nice cut, and flavored well, I paired it with asparagus and mashed potatoes. This evening, Jordan took great care of us. He made sure we had everything we needed during our visit. I will add that I always enjoy the service here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was pleasant, we sat in the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our wait wasn't as long as estimated so that was a plus... we came hungry.

    French Onion Soup

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This Longhorn location looks a bit tired and could use a deep cleaning, which seems to be a common issue for chain restaurants in Pooler.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I suppose this is to be expected for a restaurant that experiences high foot traffic. My french onion soup was phenomenal! Loaded to the brim with onions, thick flavorful broth, a large piece of bread and tons of cheese! The crunchy stuff that they put on top is 100% the reason why I can't stay away from Longhorn. I also ordered the sirloin, but it arrived overcooked--completely dry and lacking any juices. However, the server was great; they took it back to the kitchen and returned with a decent steak after about 15 minutes. Pro Tip: Go online and add your name to the waitlist while you're en route.

Terrific lunch today…read more Not wanting to eat heavy at lunch but uncertain what dinner looked like, we sat down and had a nice lunch in a very clean atmosphere with a very pleasant server. Being a barbecue place and proud of their brisket I went with the two meat combo, including brisket and pulled chicken. By recommendation of our server, she suggested we go with the marble brisket, and I must say that selection was outstanding. Arguably the best brisket I've ever had, and I've had and a lot of it. It truly did melt in your mouth. Plenty of meat and plenty of flavor. Not to be out done, but the pulled chicken was also equally fabulous. Very moist very tasty. The meal kicked off with buttered biscuits. Those were outstanding. They'll also bring you more if you want. But watch it they're not exactly low-calorie. With the combo meals, you get a couple of sides and I went with the coleslaw and beans. Being a fan of coleslaw I thought it was quite good. It was juicy and fresh. The beans were also good. The manager and we met and we're happy to let him know. We had a terrific experience.

It was the pepper on the brisket that was too heavy and since it was at the end of the evening, I believe I may have gotten the end of the brisket. I've had good and great brisket before and this one was in between. A bit dry and I took three bites and each one had a chunk of fat. Mind you, I love a flavorful piece of meat with some fat (fat being the best part sometimes) but it was just tasteless fat with no meat attached.... Enough about that. Besides, the waitress Brandi was the best! Sweet and attentive, she was most helpful and kept our drinks full and brought us to go cups without us even asking. Folks here were very nice and that goes a long way for me!!

The food came, I ordered biscuits & gravy with a side of sausage. When served, they had forgotten the sausage so I reminded the waitress. She said "Ok" and left. Since I had already completed my meal I told her to disregard the sausage. I ultimately only got offered coffee refill one time. The food was mediocre at best. This was disappointing as I had been looking forward to eating at Metro. I will give them one more shot before I put them in the "DO NOT RETURN" list. The place needs some work...

We had a chance to visit 912 Korean BBQ and hot pot last weekend. We were looking for something…read morecasual but filling for dinner and because we had not tried out this place yet but had driven by several times, we decided to check it out. Definitely a great decision on a hunch. This is an all you can eat hot pot concept and frankly my first time attending this version. While I have visited hibachi restaurants in the past, this is not that. Basically this is a dual table side prep concept where you can either make your own custom soups and broths, and hot pot seafood or you can select the grill and grill of a variety of fresh meats and fish and vegetables, or you can get both. Both come with a small dessert bar and seem to be accompanied with the additional Fresh salad and sauce bar, although I'm not quite sure if one of those may have been restricted if you did the grill only or the hot pot only. Pricing is pretty fair at about $30 a person which rises to mid 30s if you decide to get both options. We went with the combo because we had never tried this concept before, but in the future, I may lean more towards the grill option only. Especially if I'm not in the mood for hot pot or soup. But I definitely enjoyed the combination choice for our first visit. The meat and vegetable selections at this restaurant are pretty vast and this is after the server first sets you up and allows you to pick from several different types of broth for your hot pot. In addition, they have a sauce bar that must've had 20+ sauces available to choose from. I think one of the most overwhelming aspects of this concept is lack of familiarity with the right combinations of hot pot and grilled options. For this we leaned heavily on our server and she did a great job of guiding us through a couple of her favorite combinations, as well as some of the favorite combinations of other patrons. This was really helpful because there isn't a menu or chart to help you unlock all of the really cool combinations that you can put together including Ramen udon and Thai soup varieties. All of the ingredients you need to make any of those dishes, but in your own customize version, are here to your heart's desire. Service is really good as they do switch out the grills rather rapidly as they will get charred and start to burn and smoke after three or four rounds of fresh meats and veggies slapped on them. However, they do not switch out your broth choice so once you make your choice, that's what you're rolling with for the rest of the dinner. All in all we were really satisfied with the freshness and the preparation of most of the ingredients and sauces. I did think the dessert bar was a little weak given the multitude of options elsewhere, but I also understand that this is consistent with the cultural preferences, which don't skew as heavy on traditional sweets, like American taste do. All in all this is definitely a treat for those looking for a great date night or just looking to take the family out for a really engaging and tasty cook at your table experience - all you can eat style!
