We were acknowledged and then sent to not the best spot but it worked. We ordered the ultimate margaritas (good taste), the churrasco and the salmon salad. I was told the churrasco was very good, cooked well and both sides (beans and salad) tasted good. The salmon salad was okay, since I could tell the salad was not very fresh and the beans tasted undercooked. I left those on the plate and decided to make the most of what was edible. Went to Bahama breeze for happy hour and sat outside, they have great outdoor seating! Love that the happy hour is even on Fridays starting at 4 PM. We got there right on time and sat outside so that it would not be that crowded. As we got ready to leave it started to get packed. The appetizers are on a discount and were delicious. We had the coconut shrimp, the wings, the tostones and a virgin piña colada and a painkiller. My husband said that the painkiller was absolutely delicious! The only thing is that they fill it with a lot of ice so you definitely end up getting more than one drink. Our server was super friendly and suggested the drink of the day, which was the painkiller. For some reason, I think that coconut shrimp is less than what they would give you on a regular day, but it was still good. I wish that the silverware was a little bit cleaner and the plates on the table, without food on them, but they just maybe need to go through the dishwasher again. Overall, a solid three stars for a chain restaurant. The chocolate island takes the cake! Unfortunately, there was some garlic substance on the side of our plate And we had to request a new one. However, he was very prompt with service after greeting us. I went for a late dinner with my boyfriend. The outside deck was not too warm and nice weather that night. The live performer was singing Jamaican melodies so it made for a fun environment. I ordered the lobster shrimp linguine which was cooked correctly but completely lacking in flavor. Even the lobster tasted unseasoned like it was just thrown in straight from a package to the dish. My boyfriend always enjoys the skirt steak meal and finished the whole plate in one sitting. The grilled chicken was pretty juicy. It had the texture of sous vide chicken that was blacked on the flat top after. No complaints there and the mashed potatoes and sauce was decent. The sangria was ridiculously sweet so that was a miss but all in all it was a fair experience. Our server was completely lovely but I don't remember his name to give him a shout out. As far as chains go, bahama breeze is usually very consistent. I enjoy this location and always receive good service. But the best thing about BB is happy hour which is the reason I go. We asked the waitress to bring a towel so we could clean it off. She left and never came back. Our apps were delivered to a dirty table. We ordered our appetizers from the bar so we had a completely different waitress, outside, on the patio. The outdoor waitress had no idea that we had not been helped yet, regarding ordering an entrée. Finally, she walked up and asked if we had been helped. We asked for a towel to clean the table and then ordered our entree. Hubby's burger was ice cold and tasteless. My Snapper was "fishy" (unusually so) and not great. Happy hour includes $4 Wells cocktails, $5 specialty drinks, and $6 cocktail of the month and on select wines, as well as 1/2 off appetizers. We started off with a couple of specialty drinks and the spinach dip and chips. The drinks were great, but the dip was a bit underwhelming . We ended up sharing an entree: the grilled chicken with cilantro-crema. It came with mashed potatoes and corn. That was fairly decent, but not sure if I would jump at the chance to order it again. The cilantro-crema definitely brought it together. I would opt to try something else on the menu next time around. We were still hungry (or just being greedy), so we went for the spicy habanero bbq wings. Now those, I would definitely get again. We asked for them well-done and they were fried to perfection. And that spicy habanero sauce gave them just the right kick! We probably should have started with those. I will say that our server, Steven, was great. My friend has mentioned this place plenty of time when BB was located in Ohio, so when we get to Orlando with a little time on our hands we decided to try it for lunch. We sat out in the patio area where plenty of breezes enfolded us. I hadn't eaten all day and it was 2 pm so we followed with jerk chicken pasta for me and a tropical chicken salad for him. Fritters were good, not amazing. The pasta was good, maybe a tad overcooked and a little too saucy for my taste and the jerk wasn't so jerky/spicy but I was hungry so I didn't complain. He liked his salad (though he does have his favorite fruit and lettuce salad at the huge bread chain that remains consistent). I'm a sucker for frozen drinks, and the ultimate pineapple was worth the up-charge for such an awesome take on a piña collana. I really liked the strawberry swirl at the bottom as well! Since there's a variety of indoor and outdoor seating, it's great for groups or a quick bite at the bar. The service was fast and our waiter was wonderful! I also thought the Jamaican stuffed plantain bowl was a really creative dish. Last night my family of 4 came for dinner and were pretty disappointed with our experience. My parents are regulars here and love their lunch specials. My boyfriend and I join them them every so often for dinner and since it had been a while we were looking forward to it. Now our server was very sweet and polite, but not the most efficient. My parents ordered soups before their meals but neither of them came. We had a runner bring us our dinner and were surprised. I called the waitress to let her know about the soups and she mentioned she'd bring them out now and said the meals finished faster than what was expected. My mom didn't want hers anymore, but my dad took his. Not only that but it took my boyfriend a long time to get his beer too. It was well over 10 minutes from when he asked for it. It was not an overly busy packed night, just a regular Saturday. I then ordered a refill on my drink and the waitress said she'd be right back. I watched her walk by 3 different times with plates, drinks and the 4th time with nothing in her hand. I called her again and she asked if there was something I needed and I reminded her of my drink. This time she did bring it right away. We were done so my parents asked for some boxes and the check. It took her a little bit to bring the boxes out and when she did she asked if we wanted the check now. It was like she wasn't paying attention. Again, she was sweet, polite and friendly but not efficient. We almost laughed when that happened because it was unreal. She did bring the check out right away and acknowledged our patience and grace (she literally said grace) in our experience with her and at dinner and wished us a happy holiday. She was always going to get a decent tip, but it sucks that we spent $100 on a dinner experience that was less than good. Side Note: I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Tacos and they weren't that great. The shrimp was slight warm so by the time I made it to the third taco is was cold. I woikd recommend seeking out a mom and Pop place if you are looking for a true homage to the wonderful food of the Caribbean instead of thinking that you are having anything even remotely close to authentic. Just like Olive Garden is to Italian food, Bahama Breeze is to Caribbean food. There are a few advantages to this particular location. One is that it is conveniently located on busy Alafaya Trail over on the east side of Orlando. It is just south of East Colonial Drive and is located in a shopping plaza, so parking is not an issue. Bahama Breeze was the perfect place to go to after sitting through a fantastic graduation ceremony at Hertzing University- Orlando. We arrived just before the crowd and I'm glad we did. The jerk seasoning permeates throughout the entire chicken, the black beans are perfectly cooked and has the velvety texture of perfection. The sweet plantains just melt in your mouth. Great outdoor seating, Steven did a great job, very friendly and helpful. We had the sangria and the house honey blonde beer, both were very good. I love the island sounds and especially love coming in the evening when they have a live band and the perfect options for outside seating on cool Florida nights. We ordered the beef empanadas, shrimp with French bread, and jerk chicken wings for an appetizer. The empanadas are some of the best we have ever tasted and I'm obsessed! The shrimp came highly recommended by our waiter and it did not disappoint cut a slice of the bread and dip in the butter sauce and you have a little piece of heaven. The beef empanadas come with a seasoned sour cream and Mango sauce which are both delightful. The jerk wings are usually hit or miss and we will avoid them in the future not terrible but not what we are used to. For the main, my husband got the chicken Pinapple bowl and I had the grilled chicken with cilantro cream mashed potatoes. Both the mains were very flavorful though my grilled chicken was slightly Over done. We attended Bahama Breeze for a birthday celebration with family members. We had a large party and were seated perfectly on time for the reservation. Our server was nice and took care of us throughout the meal. The service ran pretty quickly as well considering it was such a large group (10 people). The menu has a lot of good options and variety. My boyfriend and I decided to share an appetizer of beef empanadas and we also shared the seafood paella entree. The beef empanadas are pretty good. They're not my favorite empanadas, but the shells are cooked well and they are pretty generously stuffed. I'd like a plain sour cream for dipping instead of the one that comes with it. I'm sure they'd be happy to bring one if they have it, but I figured I'd try what was offered. The chutney served with them is a nice sweet flavor that compliments the empanadas well. The seafood paella is a good meal. It's a bit on the salty side, but it is really generously filled with shrimp, mussels, scallops, fish, chicken, and sausage. Even after splitting the entree, we still had leftovers so it's a pretty large portion. All staff was friendly, wearing masks, and keeping things clean. I noticed the tables outside are staggered with some tables left with no seating signs on them. I generally enjoy Bahama Breeze whenever I go. My absolute terms favorite thing on their menu is the Jerk Chicken Pasta......so much so, that I sometimes crave it, and whenever I have a similar dish at another restaurant, I'm generally mentally comparing it to this dish!
