The perfect place to go on a cold Michigan day to forget that you live in such frigid conditions lol. You complete forget that it's winter in Bahama Breeze. I've been here 3-4 times before and I have yet to have a bad experience. I have never been to the one in Livonia so I can't compare it but the one in Troy is pretty big. I've had parties from sizes 1 up to 4 and I have never had to wait. The thing I love about this place is the scenery and ambiance. If it wasn't for the windows, you would forget that you were in Michigan. It's like being in a beach side restaurant in the sun. It was 1 degree outside but the heat lamps work very well considering a good chunk of this place is surrounded by windows. The food is DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits or the lobster and shrimp linguine. I try to try something new when I go but I always end up with one of these choices. The servers are very nice and attentive. They fit the theme. I took away a star because...and I hate to write this but...the drinks are weak. VERY weak. I would mistakenly give their drinks to a kid if I didn't know they were alcoholic. It's sad because the drinks are yummy. They're very tropical and fruity. But it takes a LOT to get a buzz here. The margarita was terrible. Tasted like a mix and was warm on the bottom of the drink when i took a sip from the straw. Fritters were very good. Shrimp tacos and fries were cold. Was not impressed. My husband and I met another couple here for drinks, appetizer and dinner on August 3. It was a humid hot evening to enjoy a tropical drink for sure. We called ahead to make our reservations when leaving the house so we didn't have to wait when arriving 10 minutes before our time. Great start when arriving we found a front parking spot, then were greeted at the door with hostess. We were seated promptly and our waiter arrived too by the name of Fatjon. He was very helpful, pleasant and prompt later on with free water refills and checked on us while eating 2 times. The 4 of us ordered drinks from the bar consisting of a frozen rum runner drink, a margarita flight (4 mini glasses), Float My Boat Bar which was 4 frozen rum drinks and I myself ordered the Jama Can Punch ( got to keep the large tin can) .. all our drinks were 9.99 sweet, tropical and delicious with fruit flavors and my drink can had 4 diced up pieces of fruit in. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer with bread and tortilla chips to shared 9.79. Our food entrees were 1 Paella spicy and Caribbean = 17.99 see photo, 1 calypso shrimp pasta =13.99, 1 chicken cilantro =14.29 and my choice was the Tilapia fish fillet (see photo) =15.49 and with mango pineapple glazed salsa on top with sweet mashed potatoes which are always wonderful and smooth, and green beans. Our dinner entrees were hot, and delicious from start to finish. Our total bill for bar, appetizer, and entrees was $126.56 = 32.00 per person and tip was 25.00. We always enjoy coming to Bahama Breeze 4 x a year to feel that we are in Jamaica and enjoying drinks, and food from the Caribbean Islands, yeah man. One last thing funny or of humor.. after I did a yelp check in the Manager of the restaurant personally came over to say hi to me after knowing I was a Yelp guest. I went with a group of four friends for B.B. happy hour specials. We arrived at 530 and were seated promptly. Orders placed by 545 and that is where it went down hill. We were told there was a computer "issue" that was delaying the kitchen. At that point it seemed all the servers avoided the dining room all together. No drink orders, no drink refills, no update on what's happening our server just abandoned us rather than do what he could do. When food finally arrived a few items were sent back due to quality issues with them)dry chicken wings, watery pasta). Disappointing. We spoke with a manager who offered to replace an item and give us free dessert. The kitchen/waiter managed to muck up her good will gesture as well. 4 key lime pies and one rum cake to go, took another hour to receive. Receive our bills we were charged for the dessert and not given the happy hour pricing...pitiful. All in all this was not a good day for Bahama Breeze nor this server. I have a mixed review. My food and drinks were great, the service however... They finally brought the habanero wings back so I was excited to visit, corona and all. From the moment I walked in there seemed to be a problem. I met someone there and asked them to order my drink for happy hour, I was less than 10 minutes away. When I got there, it took our waiter a minute to come by. When I did, I was ready for my drink and to order. Gave him my ID to check and placed my food order. 19 minutes later, I had still never received my drink. Had to literally go up to the bar get my drink that was sitting there. In that time of me waiting for it, another party of 2 came, sat down,spoke to him, ordered a drink AND received their drinks. When he finally came back at the same time I arrived with my drink, it seemed like he had an attitude and walked away with some excuse of why he didn't have the drink. There were simple issues and lots of attitude from then to the time it was time to get our bills. But what really stemmed this review was the fact that asking for clarification on our bill was so troubling the waiter had to say, with an attitude of course, "you know what I'm just going to get the manager for you all" and literally run away. The food here was great, as I have always been a fan and frequently came but this visit reminded me why I stopped and will never be back to this location. This used to be my favorite place to come for dinner, drinks, etc. Today we came to celebrate my birthday and attention was super bad!!! We request a booth and they say they have none. We clearly saw several clean and empty booth with people sitting next to it and they say that section is closed!!! Then they say they will clean one. They make us walk back to the entrance and my mom is 82 and has trouble walking. They didn't care. There was 3 people to host that kept talking between them and we waited for a table but none seemed in a hurry to clean one so we left. We hadn't been here in a while because the service was so bad the last time we came. We wanted a tropical drink so we decided to give it a try. Hubs ordered a margarita and I ordered a strawberry daiquiri. They. Were. Awful. We decided to order anyway and I ordered the coconut shrimp and he ordered the honey sriracha chicken sandwich. We waited and waited while we watched tables being served around us. I realized I could see the kitchen and could see our orders sitting there waiting to be delivered. Our server came through and kept going - we thought to get our food...no, our food continued to sit and sit and sit. My husband went to find the waiter but couldn't. When the food disappeared from the counter, we assumed it wasn't ours. A few minutes later, it was delivered by a different server. It had been at least 7-10 minutes after I saw them on the counter, so they were about as lukewarm as you'd expect. The food wasn't great. The coconut shrimp was good - exactly as expected. The broccoli served with it had a strange taste to it. The chicken sandwich looked great so I tried a bite of that - meh. Just ok. Fries were fries...and also lukewarm. Overall, it was disappointing - it used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but the service and quality just seem to keep going downhill, giving us little reason to return. read more

I had yet again another great time here. My sever was Chyna and she was absolutely amazing. My mom and I both tried the new Jerk chicken pineapple bowl with white sticky rice. The sticky rice is slightly harder than the yellow rice but the white rice was perfect for all the flavors that was going on with the chicken and the pineapple. I also tried their new red sangria (sunset berry sangria?) and it was SO good. What else could go wrong? there was a string in my plate and it appears that it came from the chorizo. So this definitely is not a place I typically would go not because I have heard anything bad but because honestly just not on my radar. I was invited to a birthday party, and I was really impressed. We had a large party which is always difficult to sometimes. The staff were super nice and had our table ready for us when I arrived, and it was very busy. I was sure what to have, so I tried the coconut shrimp tacos. I was super surprised at how big they are and very flavorful. I also got the black bean soup which was also really good. Because it was a birthday, the group brought in the cake, and the waitress was very kind about it and brought us a knife and plates. Met up with some friends here for the first time in forever. We were mainly after margaritas in a relaxed environment. There was a bit of a wait, but they communicated well. All COVID protocols were clearly in place and we felt comfortable. Our server was great. A friend and I got the Mystic Margarita because we suckers for a good gimmick (color changing). It was very disappointing. Very odd bitter taste. Would not recommend. We switched to normal classic margaritas and those were fine. A bit heavy on the mix, but in comparison to our first one they were great. I couldn't eat much due to my own dietary restrictions, but I got the Cuban Black Bean soup and oh my gosh. It was AMAZING. I had no idea you could do such delicious things with black beans. I would go back just for that. Friends were happy with their food and the friend who got the margarita flight loved it. It is for the service. My husband and I had dinner there this past week. We had "Thomas K" as our server. Right off the bat we didn't feel important. He was very focused on his other tables instead of us. He hardly ever came to the table. We are not needy people by any means. But we could never find him. We had to ask another server for drink refills, because they had been empty for quite a while. He never came by to even notice. An expo server brought us our entrées, which is normal. No problem there. But then your server usually come shortly there after to see how everything is. Nope. We were done eating before Thomas even appeared again. About 20 minutes had passed by. And when he did all he said was "Can I get you anything else?" like he was just done with us. We were thinking about dessert, but definitely not after that. I needed a box for the rest of my entree and it took forever for him to bring it. Another 20 minutes or so. We just wanted to leave at that point. Then when he finally returned with a box and kiosk thing to pay he stood there the entire time while I put my card in and paid the bill. Which is very awkward when you're doing a tip right in front of him! But oh well he's standing there just staring at me like hurry up. So he got to see his not so great tip right then and there. I know places are still short on staff. And he probably had a lot of tables (although looking around I could never really see him in our area) and he was probably doing the best he could. But my husband and I don't require much. The basics. Say hello to me, take my order, refill my drinks without me having to ask (if pop and water which I had) and ask me if everything is OK with entree. Anyway, sat at the bar where I was waited on by Alex. They definitely didn't plan for all the people cause he was swamped, yet he was still attentive and prompt. Great bar tender. The margaritas themselves were made in bulk, so they were fine but nothing too extravagant or impressive. Ordered the lobster and shrimp quesadilla and it was good for a chain restaurant. There wasn't much distinction in flavor or texture in the filling, and the salsa could use some fine tuning to bring out flavors in the spices of the q. But for price to quality, I couldn't complain. Came here a couple days ago with a large group for a birthday party. I haven't had bahama breeze in ages and I was totally stoked to go! The coconut shrimp was better than I remembered! What's better than juicy shrimp coated in coconut and perfectly fried? Anyways, I shared that along with a chicken dish that I forgot the name of but it had some type of cilantro sauce I think- that was really good too :) The dessert which was some chocolate cake was delicious as well. Only weird thing was our waiter. He kept making woman jokes and gay jokes and was really arrogant. When you don't know the people or when you're at work it's pretty inappropriate no matter how "cool" you think you are to talk like that. The group I went with was pretty conservative and didn't appreciate it lol. Also a light kept flickering on and off on top of us and it was annoying and he said he couldn't change it after we asked. There were a few drawbacks, none of which were the food but more about the fact their beer selection was that of a rookie establishment. I get the fact it's a 'tropical' style place but man it's a heartbreaker when there's literally only one good beer on draft. 2018-08-08. Bahama Breeze is part od the Dardin Family of restaurants, the same parent as Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Capital Grill to name a few. I always wanted to try the place and happened to be in the area so we stopped in. Inside the decor is casual; dark carpeting and soft lighting create a warm and cozy environment. Got there around peak dinner time, the parking lot was pretty full but I got lucky and found a spot right out front. Got inside and the place was pretty full, but we still got seated immediately. So far so good; it was spitting outside, but the sun was shining on me this evening!... or so I thought... 10 minutes passed and not a single soul came by to even acknowledge us. This place has got it....still It's a chain, but they still work hard with service and excellent food. I had the salmon salad and it was a bed of perfection. The salmon was prepared perfectly..it was crumbly and flavorful. I wish I could eat salmon like this everyday. Had a wonderful bowl of their chicken tortilla soup. It had a lime wedge on it, with lime infused in it as well...and it worked so well and it was a wonderfully delicious soup. I'm a huge fan of sea food, so I'd like to continue to go and try more and more and more and more and more....you get the idea...I'm a fan! read more

Save your time. Our food didn't come for an entire hour (yes, I was tracking time) and when it did come, it ranged from lukewarm to cold. My jerk chicken pineapple bowl was dry. The waiters looked very confused as if they didn't know where they were supposed to go. A nearby table got served the wrong food. We were not given silverware and when we asked for new silverware it did not have a knife in it. When brought a knife, it was dirty. I ordered a replacement for my dry and cold chicken and it took 30 minutes to be replaced. I will not return. read more
