So Mediterranean isn't my favorite cuisine, so keep that in mind. I ordered 2 kabobs, shirmp and meat. The shrimp was overcooked and the meat was dry, so the food was a bit disappointing. The service on the other hand was great, the wait staff was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We came during lunch, and at first we were the only ones, by the time we left, there was one other table. The atmopshere is casual and hasn't changed much since the last restaurant was here. Street parking is a coin toss, sometimes its easy, sometimes packed. Probably won't be back.

Came to celebrate an anniversary and staff acknowledged it immediately upon arrival. The space is very cute and decorated well. There's also outdoor seating for warmer weather. We ordered the ceviche ($21), papas bravas ($11), kale salad ($17), salmon ($35), and seafood pasta ($34). The ceviche was fresh and I really liked the citrusy notes (it was quite tropical and I thought it was possibly passionfruit?). The papas bravas was a decent sized serving and came with an addictive sauce. The kale salad came with a piece of fried feta and the only fault I found with it... was that I wanted more fried feta bits! Salmon was cooked well, and I liked the accompanying veggies - seemed like a very healthy Mediterranean dish. The seafood pasta was also very good. Husband said the fish in his dish was cooked even better than mine. Lastly, they offered us a whole complimentary dessert. We were already beyond stuffed at that point, but who are we to turn down a coconut creme brulee? Another review said they couldn't taste the coconut, but it's definitely there. It's not overpowering, but it's a good balance.

Came here for lunch with a friend, wasn't blown away by this place. We ordered the mezze dips, the octopus and chicken platter. They were all ok. The tzatziki sauce was very watery. The Greek salad on the platter dish was pretty boring. I think the octopus was the best dish. I like the outdoor seating but it was overall just mediocre.

We came on a chilly night and easily got a reservation inside this small but inviting restaurant. I wish the hadn't kept the doors wide open. The restaurant felt colder than we typically like. The food was very good, though the prices felt high for the portion sizes. Our favorites were the falafel (excellent flavor and perfectly fried that didn't need the sauce), the lamb chops, and the whole branzino. Be careful of the bones in the fish though. They were hard to spot in the darkish restaurant. Our service was good and appropriately attentive. Unfortunately the table next to us never got one of their main dishes but since what wasn't my experience, the star rating doesn't reflect that.

I had a great experience here! I highly recommend everyone to try Bahche! I love the atmosphere and the employees authentically care about their service.

I came with a group of friends for a birthday lunch during lunch time. My friend made the reservation, and I'm glad she did because it became quite busy closer to noon! The restaurant interior was nicely lit and well decorated and clean. We ordered a decent amount of food that were all superb! Appetizers: -Kalamarakia aka calamari: 5/5. It was perfectly fried and crisp! I liked the addition of zucchini and artichokes too. -Spread Combination: 4/5 it came with 4 different dips and pita: they were all well prepared and tasted really good. I found the Muhammara the best dip, but I thought $26 was a bit steep for the amount you get of each dip. Entrees: Tenderloin souvlaki: 5/5. The meat was tender and easy to eat! Very well cooked with the nice char on the outside. Chicken souvlaki: 5/5. Again, the chicken was well cooked! Juicy and delicious! Seafood paella: 4/5. The rice and flavors were on point and presentation was also very nice. However, we made one mussel that was closed in our dish. This is just me being overly picky though tbh! Psaraki: 5/5. I'm honestly not a huge fan of whole grilled fish but this was well prepared! The fish was nice and soft inside. I really enjoyed the potatoes it was served with. Overall, good place with good vibes and food. I'd come back to eat the souvlakis because they were cooked really well!

This place is underrated. The food is amazing and great for sharing! We went on a rainy day, so there was only one server, and service was kinda slow.

We recently visited a new Mediterranean restaurant in San Mateo for dinner. When we arrived, the place wasn't too busy. Although the restaurant is relatively small, it features a pleasant bar area. Interior is very nice. The chair may be need more cushion. They offer a variety of white and red wines, but it seems they don't serve cocktails. The menu boasts plenty of options to choose from. We ordered the spread combination, sauted veggie dish, souvlakis tenderloin, souvlakis chicken, and seafood paella. The spread combination came with four types of spreads, all of which were delicious, and the pita bread was still warm. The veggie dish was well-cooked, not overly soft, and the chicken was tender though slightly salty. The tenderloin was tasty, but some parts were a bit tough; a knife for cutting the tenderloin would have been appreciated. The seafood paella was flavorful, but I believe it would be better without the chicken, as it is a seafood dish. The chicken itself was tender, but all-seafood paella would be good enouugh. Overalk the price is reasonable. We ended our meal with a chocolate lava cake, which was delightful and served warm. Overall, it was a good dinner with excellent service. It is about 4 to 5 stars

Service was excellent - everyone is attentive and coordinated - from sitting us, offered some free sparkling wine ( Mother's day) , refilling water, bussing table, upselling wine. Their place is cozy at the corner across Roblox company. The food was okay. We like the chicken skewers and shrimp skewers. The beef tenderloin was good as well. I just noticed the bell pepper overflow on ceviche ( didn't feel the jalapeño stated) and it overpowered the goal of the sour effect kick, same for the plate offerings. Calamari was to perfection though and generous serving to its price.

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was spot on. Great glass of wine and we had two ice cold beers before. So tasty and fresh and we will be back.

Came here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. It wasn't too busy, but since the tables were full, we sat at the bar. We each ordered a glass of wine, and the staff were kind enough to let us sample two different options before deciding on what we wanted. For starters, we had the ceviche, which included a nice variety of seafood, plantain chips, and had an overall touch of sweetness which I liked! For our entrée, we shared the seafood paella. It had a rich, citrusy flavor and was a great portion for two people to share. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate lava cake, which wasn't overly sweet and was the perfect treat to end our meal. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a cozy fireplace display on the wall. The staff were also very attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you're looking for a great date night spot!

Solid new Mediterranean restaurant in San Mateo. I ordered the dip spread and seafood paella to share. Both dishes came out fairly quickly a the service here was attentive. I loved the variety they gave in the dip platter and also loved the paella. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Nice relatively new spot in the same little plaza with the mirror maze in the front and Blue Bottle. It's a small space, but there is a pretty bar in the center of the restaurant. Our server was nice, but she was also co-managing the bar, so service was spotty. We loved the sampler dip which came with 4 of the mezzes- a hummus, tzatziki, eggplant yogurt, and a red pepper based one. Liked them all, but probably the red pepper one muhammara was most flavorful if I had to pick one. Caesar salad was basic, except with one twist- the parmesean was baked into one huge crisp. My husband enjoyed his chicken kabab and found it flavorful, I always find kebabs to be too chewy, and this one was no different for me. The beef burger was super juicy and personally had all my favorite burger toppings: ie sauteed onions, avocado, mushrooms, cheese. They also have a garden burger and lamb burger. The paella was tender and flavorful- average amount of clams/mussels/squid; I found the salmon bits most tasty- but that was sparse. Overall had a lovely dinner. Also enjoyed the glass of Cab Franc- complex without a harsh tannin finish.

We sat outside, and the atmosphere felt tired and uninspired. There was nothing particularly inviting or memorable about the space. We ordered the bruschetta sampler ($24), choosing the mango, salmon, mushroom with prosciutto, and tomato mozzarella varieties. Surprisingly, they all tasted almost exactly the same. Nothing tasted fresh or vibrant. The bread was especially disappointing--bland, lacking texture, and seemingly devoid of flavor. The mango wasn't sweet, the tomatoes tasted like nothing, and even the mozzarella lacked freshness and character. The wine was equally underwhelming. My husband ordered the Tempranillo and I had the Albariño. Neither was enjoyable; both tasted harsh and overly alcoholic rather than balanced or flavorful. Even the presentation missed the mark. The glassware felt dated and unattractive, which only added to the overall feeling that the restaurant is past its prime. Unfortunately, this was not a memorable meal for the right reasons. With so many great dining options available, we won't be returning.

For starters, we shared the meat & cheese board which our waitress recommended the off menu combo plate (2 meats & 2 cheeses for ~$40). Solid and straightforward rather than elaborate. The breads and especially the lard were the more interesting part. For entrees, we shared the diavola pizza: Good flavor with the crust being the standout. Worth mentioning that it's a softer, fork-and-knife style pizza rather than a crispy slice. Paired with the pizza was the Red wine mezzi rigatoni. Probably the most interesting savory dish. The pork sausage ragù and crispy sage made it different from a standard rigatoni. Pasta + Pizza was a great shareable combo. Lastly to round off the meal, desserts. The Chocolate trifle was the disappointment. The amount of foam overwhelmed everything else and made it underwhelming. The bomboloni were much better, particularly with the peaches. Tobias Take: Great option for people who want wine, charcuterie/cheese and several dishes for the table to share. Their meat/cheese selection and wine list are major strengths. This place shines when you order several things for the table rather than everyone ordering an individual entrée.
