Here we are, 2 1/2 years later, my furnace is still working GREAT no thanks to the guy at Bailey's!!!!! This owner is a LIAR! He commented that I'm a competitor on my negative review. This is the PERSONAL message he sent to me after he kindly inquired to my negative review. This was my experience with this company, and now Mitch Bailey comes on here to call me a liar??? "I pulled the file and reviewed the service tag. Unfortunately the letter they sent with your returned check was not in the file, so I did not know how the office responded. In addition the service tech did not write down any quotes on the tag for repair and just noted that the coil needed cleaning and that he fixed a loose wire. The equipment was manufactured in 1993, I got this from the serial number he wrote down. I did talk to the service man in question this morning and he didn't remember the job. Typically a cleaning is between $120 to $300, depending on what has to be done to clean the coil. From what your husbands granddad did, I would expect it should have been around $120. I did chew out the service tech because he didn't write down the quote to repair and get prior approval from you before doing any repairs, which means you should not have been charged to begin with! Of course you were inconvenienced but as far as I can tell you received all your money back. I take seriously our reputation and if possible try to rectify problems as soon as possible. The office didn't bring this to my attention at the time and was handling themselves. The lady in the office at the time is no longer here, now my daughter works in the office and she always brings anything like this to my attention. I wish I could say that we never make mistakes, but that would be untrue. We do try to run the business in an ethical way and try to make sure that all our service techs espouse the same beliefs and ethics that I have. So I apologize if our service person did not. Be assured it will not happen again with this service tech. To make this up to you, I would like to offer a service of the system at no charge, no strings attached. I will send out one of our best maintenance techs, Steve, to perform a cleaning and check the system, and in the future give you a 5% discount if the system needs replacing or other repairs. I contacted Bailey's heating & A/c after receiving a promo flyer offering a free estimate for replacing an a/c system. I specifically told them that I didn't know whether our system needed replacement, or just a servicing as it is 14 years old, and then asked if someone could come out and tell me, under the free estimate. The gal was nice enough and scheduled an appointment, asking if I'd like to go ahead and schedule a "tune-up" since the technician would already be there. I told her that once the tech informed me of the condition of the unit, and could make a recommendation as to either replacement or "tune-up", THEN I would decide what action to take and schedule as needed. So the tech shows up early (which is better than late!) and takes a look at the Trane unit components, turns the system on to check it out and checks the a/c unit on the side yard, including the freon level. He tells me that the system is running well, the freon levels are fine and that the unit is just a bit dirty and could use a good hosing off. Then he says that since he's already done the inspection, he'd be happy to clean the unit out for me for the $49.95 "special precision tune-up", which will save me money because the service call is $65.00 !! The gal that scheduled the appointment did not say that there would be a charge of $65.00 for a tech to come out. !! I noticed that the promo flyer also stated that I could get a $25 savings off of any "service or repair", so I asked if they would apply that to the $65 charge, reducing my fee to $40, rather that pay the special "tune-up" cost of $49.95. They would not do it, using the explanation that the tech was not performing a "repair" job. I read the flyer to them, saying that it said " Service or Repair". No Deal. Since I had to pay to get my unit inspected, I opted to have it cleaned out for the $50 bucks, but that wasn't what I had intended when I called to have the tech come out.... I just wanted an evaluation of the overall condition. Their service tech seemed to be professional and friendly enough, but I just didn't like the poor communication and the unwillingness to make a customer happy for a difference of $10.00. read more

The service person that was sent, Bob, was very professional, friendly and knowledgable. He was very thorough and explained what the issues were and showed me how to avoid the same issues in the future. I would not hesitate to call Bailey's again. EXCELLENT and professional customer service from the bid process to completion. Alfredo provided a line item bid for the installation of a brand new central heat and air system in our 1950's home. In addition, he sat down and discussed each item with us and coordinated with a top notch electrician as well. The coordination with MID, city of modesto for permits, and the electrician was SEAMLESS! Upon completion, we were provided with a binder with tabs and, once again, sat down to discuss everything with us. Including our free maintenance and our rebates documentation. Even the 3 gentlemen who completed the installation were fantastic! We definitely recommend this company...we are so happy! read more

I have never been one to write a negative review about a business- maybe because I never encountered one that would push me to the point, until now. I requested a quote from two companies, one of which was yours truly Bailey's Heating & Air, the Baileys' 'technician' they sent out gave me a laundry list of things to repair on my heating unit. Another company, we'll call them X, came by the following afternoon and gave their diagnosis or evaluation of said unit: replacement of one part. Ducts were clean and everything was in working order. Out of curiosity, I ask X to go over the 'list' from Bailey's. He said, and I quote, "Listen, the economy has not really been friendly to our industry; but I would never condone fraud." I go on to ask him what he meant by that (I knew, but I wanted it in his own words). "Techs get really good at reading people and see how knowledgeable they are, if it meant charging for services that were actually unnecessary they might just do it." Just as I was aware of my limited knowledge of my heating unit, I highly encourage you to read up on this company before engaging in any form of business transactions with them if you are not familiar with your heating unit. At the end of the day, maybe X was pulling something on me (I believe the expressions is "a fast one")- but that is highly unlikely, as I too am good at reading people. Note: My resentment toward Bailey's is not of price wars but of principle and ethics; performing unnecessary services will not bode well for this company. Seeing their booth at the Riverbank wine and cheese festival this weekend, I approached the booth to get more information. After speaking with a couple guys in the booth I decided to set up an estimate for them to come out to my place. We verified all the info they needed for the appointment; It was set for 8am today. I took the day off work to meet with the estimator because I really need the system to be replaced. The estimator (Adolfo?) never showed up... I sat 4 feet from my front door drinking coffee and watching T.V. until 10am... I called to find out why he didn't show up; The response I got was "He did show up"... If they can't show up to a scheduled appointment and then attempt to bs me about being at my door?.. If I were you, don't bother calling them. Now I'm out a days pay and have no estimate.. The other three either didn't listen to want I wanted or tried to sell me something I didn't need. Kudos to Baileys. Mitch of Baileys continued to work with us concerning the noise level of our unit, sending technicians out numerous times. Ultimately, he contacted the manufacturer, which had part of our new unit replaced, resolving the noise issue. We could not have asked for more attention and follow-up as provided by Baileys. A/C went out last night; called this morning and they squeezed us in towards the end of the day which, in the middle of summer, is lucky itself. Turned out to be a relatively easy fix on a very old A/C. Although the part is no more then $10-$20 the bill was $179. May seem high but when when you consider the quick response, diagnostics, part, and installation I'd say it was a very reasonable cost. I also understand paying for the expertise. I could have done it myself I'm sure but would I have gotten the wrong part, installed it wrong, or broken something else in the process? If you can do it yourself great but if you want peace of mind, a professional job, and good value then Bailey's is certainly worth it. The A/C is cold and I have the confidence it was done right. I will be replacing the unit before the next summer season and I'm confident in giving the work to Bailey's. This was an opportunity to try them out and I'm satisfied, and most importantly my wife and kids are satisfied. Thank you to Bailey's for fitting us in on such short notice. read more

Sold us a unit that they knew was no good, they don't sell lennox anymore, big surprise. Still paying on it. Techs are clueless at what to do. Out of warranty. Bailey's is sueing lennox, but didn't bother to tell us about any pending problems. Will cost us THOUSANDS to fix according to them. Wanted $700.00 just to test for what they hope is wrong with it. They would not even send techs out to help us when the freon ran out AGAIN after one month when we had service call when the unit was working properly, they did not fill up our unit correctly then. And unless we forked over after hour fees. Acted like they did not want us as costumers anymore, hoped we would just go away, so we did. Front office useless. I can't believe they are still in business. What a rip off, buyers beware & no I am not a competitor leaving a bad review, I am a REAL customer with $ 5000.00 still left to pay on my unit. We purchased a heating & air system in 2007. It was noisier than our old system and we were surprised that the new energy efficient system did not lower our PG&E bill. We purchased the maintenance service numerous times over the following years. In 2015, during a maintenance visit, we had to have the blower motor replaced and their tech told us our system was not performing correctly. He checked the reading throughout the house and found that the duct work in the garage was not installed correctly. He also told us that their sales person sold us a unit larger than our home needed which added to the problem. He installed the correct duct work and adjusted the unit to make it not as noisy. We were shocked that not one tech during the last seven years had informed us of the wrong installation. The tech also told us "Lennox is a piece of crap" and they do not sell it anymore. In 2016 during another maintenance visit we were told we had a Freon leak and we should have a test before our warranty expired. The same tech that told us about the incorrect installation performed the test and said he couldn't find a leak and handed us a bill for $165.00. We were told we could schedule a different test to find the leak but it was more expensive and would take several days. We called the office to dispute the $165 charge for a service that provided nothing and the owner offer to take off 20 percent. We did not think this was a fair offer and over the next six months while trying to settle this, Bailey's sent back unopened certified mail, sent statements adding finance charges and threaten to send us to collections. We were getting no response from them and did not want to ruin our credit, so sent them a check for $132.00. I hope that potential customers read this review before considering purchasing anything from this company as they certainly did not sell or install proper equipment and obviously do not care about their customers. read more

We called Baileys for help to balance the air flow through our ducts in our single story 1800 square foot house because the big kitchen/family room with the vaulted ceilings was too warm in the summer and too cool in the winter while the other rooms in the house were comfortable. So the owner of the company, Mitch, came out and gave us a lot of great suggestions and options on how to solve our problem in getting that big room more air flow from our air conditioner/heating system. We took his advice on one of his suggestions and only 2 days later he sent two of his workers, Austin and Rudy to implement his plan to solve our problem. As a result, we were extremely pleased beyond our expectations by how they fixed our problem. They balanced the air flow in our house so every room has plenty of air flow and is very comfortable now. We were very impressed on how Austin and Rudy handled fixing this problem. They were very professional and they listened, in detail, to our every concern and they proceeded to accomplish everything we asked for. We are very happy and glad that we called this company out to fix our problem. They were all very helpful and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Baileys if you want professional help and honest and sound advice for your air conditioning or heating needs. read more

We had our home built in 1988. Bailey's put in the heating and air. We have always had a hard time keeping upstairs cool during summer. We had contacted Mitch at Baileys just after we moved in and was told by him and his father Lee that the reason the return upstairs did not work well was because the code said they had to use 5 inch return, so it did not pull the air as well as a bigger return. Turns out that Baileys did not attach the upstairs returns in most of our development. That would be East Lake Estates. I was also told the same happened in a development just off of Floyd and Oakdale. Mitch told his workers to not connect the returns because they had several to do and had to get them done. To just box them in and the short handed City inspectors would never know. Baileys just had to get by the first year and they were in the clear. To me this is fraud not poor workmanship. I am checking with attorneys about a possible class action suit. read more

Bailey's recommended and sold me a certain type of HVAC unit. After spending 6,000.00 on a unit, I was told the lennox unit has received an overwhelming amount of reports of having major issues. I was told I could buy an "extended warranty" for another $900.00. The funny thing is, Bailey's sold this equipment to thousands of people, and now, like the company, does not stand behind anything. I have told, and will continue to tell everyone I know about this shady company. BUYER BEWARE! This company sales heating and cooling systems, then turns around and sends an apology letter stating they no longer stand behind these companies. American people look for advice from you...the professionals. If you do not know what you are selling people- stop doing business. The problem is Lennox moved from USA to Mexico. However, hard-working American Citizens were unaware of this. I called at 8am asking if someone could come out to our office to fix out AC unit, I spoke with one woman who put me on hold then another woman answered asking if she could help me I explained again we need someone to come out today if possible. Once again I was put on hold. Then the original women I spoke to answered and said that yes someone could come out TODAY and that she would call back with an ETA... Great news right?? WRONG! At 11:20am with no call back I called this company to follow up and was put on hold right away, then a woman answered and said please hold (AGAIN!) I let her know I was already holding.. her response was "OH"... silence.. I asked if she was there she said oh yes I'm here.. after I asked for the arrival time for their Tech I was told by THREE DIFFERENT WOMEN that there was no record of my name or my company. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. They did not provide good customer service at all. They did not keep track to a client on the phone, and did not offer to make the issue right other than saying they could send someone out on another day. The only positive thing I could say about this company is the women were polite through it all at least. read more
