They were really busy, it's the lunch hour rush, they had a line out the door, and what looks to be training an employee, I can see that the woman who seems to be in charge, seems to me she is the owner she is a bad a$$ chick! She is in there cooking, taking orders, training the new guy, under a lot of stress but she was fast and efficient. That's a motivated hustler there. The food was delicious! I had a taco de papa, taco de barbacoa and a quesabirria! Even the rice and beans were delicious! I'd come here again, I rate it a 5 stars for the way that woman was handling everything under pressure and on top of that having good food. Maybe to some people I've exaggerated but it's small businesses like this that I love to support. I finished most of my food so a picture wouldn't look appealing on here lol. If you like tacos and you're in Santa Fe Springs, you have to come to this spot. Their tacos are so freaking bomb for the area. I can't go anywhere else for tacos anymore. My coworker always gets these tacos for us for their Taco Tuesdays (they're literally only a dollar for a street taco). I think I can probably eat like 6 of them if I'm really hungry. They have burritos, tacos, tortas, etc. but I've only gotten their tacos. I would be down to try other things on their menu but I'm just too drawn to their tacos. My favorite has got to be their chicken taco. Just try it. I always get like 6 of them so I can devour 3 on Tuesday and 3 tomorrow on Wednesdays lol. I normally pick carne asada when I get tacos, but the ones here are very tough and chewy so I avoid it. I don't mind though because their other tacos are seriously so good. The other meats aren't bad either like their barbacoa and the al pastor, just try them all. My other coworker likes their carnitas, but I thought it was a bit spicy. Still good though! The food is amazing! I discovered this place 2 weeks ago. I am planning on trying every single dish they have to pick my favorite. So far, the tacos de papa and tacos de asada prove to be full of authentic home made food flavors. Their salsas are AMAZING!! I love them all! I can't wait to try the next dish. Honestly I used to love this place, especially the shrimp burrito/taco! However, there have been two instances where my coworkers have gotten sick after eating from here. Two separate instances! One of them ordered the asada tacos and as he was eating them, he felt that something was off about the tacos but kept eating them because he was hungry. They also added cheese to his tacos, which he was really pissed off about as well. The next day he called off of work because he practically lived in his bathroom that day. The next week, another coworker ordered the shrimp burrito (this still hurts me) and he got really sick afterwards and had to use the bathroom every 15 minutes so he went home. Sadly, this place has been permabanned from my workplace. Disappointed but that means their sanitary practices aren't all there. It's right by my house so I had some extra time time to kill and I'm so glad that I did. First look it has the same look as others from the outside and the inside each restraunt right next to one another. OMG - this place is within walking distance which both a good and a bad thing... I've had them bookmarked for a while and finally made it in and man, I am so glad I did! They offer the traditional items you expect, tacos, burritos, nachos, etc. All of the ingredients are super fresh and the meats are prepared in front of you in an open kitchen format. I work down the street and usually walk over. The food is amazing. I have tried the taco's and the tamales both are excellent. I am looking forward to trying their quesadilla's and Burritos. I prefer the fresh grilled chicken tacos which are made to order and with what I want in them. Welcoming at first until It was time to order. The 2 women working could barely understand and speak English. I simply wanted street tacos, aka food truck tacos with chicken, steak and cilantro. Both of them kept repeating the order back to me in a strong spanish accent which made everything very confusing! On top of that, it was hard to hear with the glass blocking our dialogue. When I ordered, both of them thought I said BAJA SHRIMP, when I asked for STREET tacos repeatedly. It was a misunderstanding which was fine and I was even apologetic all the way up until the part where they both started to gossip about me because of the mixup, while I was still standing there. The entire vibe turned cold real quick! The cashier then came back to me and made a sarcastic joke saying, "I said baja shrimp tacos 3 times and you said yes." Lady I never once said BAJA and I said STREET, not shrimp 3-6 times in clear English but you couldn't understand me! It is not my fault you could not understand me! She was really bothered by me after that for me not speaking Spanish. Sorry I didn't realize I had to speak Spanish in order to be a customer! I even apologized to her for the mix up and she just said, "its ok" with an attitude when she should've also apologized to me for being so unprofessional and gossiping in Spanish about me for their misunderstanding. Very unprofessional, especially considering their age, 40 year olds. What put the cherry on top was that she sneakily decided to NOT ask if I wanted my receipt. I called her back to the register to ask for my receipt and once she texted it to me she tried to play sweet and told me to have a good night! yeah that's because you knew I could leave a review with the receipt about my experience right? When I got home I also realized she spitefully charged me for Shrimp tacos ANYWAY even though I ordered regular tacos (Shrimp tacos are extra)! Regarding the food, it was lukewarm and not that great. The meat did not have flavor. :/ HOWEVER.. I will say that the meat and ingredients are fresh tasting and not processed or microwaved. Their set up is also unique, I like that you can see them make it but if I didnt order something as simple and plain as I did I would have no idea how the process of ordering works or how I am being charged for each item. Absolutely the best tacos in Santa Fe Springs. I had the Chipotle chicken taco, chile verde taco and the carnitas taco. they were all delicious but my favorite was the chicken chipotle taco. De agua fresca was delicious and refreshing. And the staff here is wonderful and friendly. Absolutely the best authentic Mexican food. I live in Huntington Beach and was working nearby.
