Shrimp fried rice and hibachi sauce was so good I could stop eating. Can't wait to try the other items. Definitely recommend.

I ordered the Lemon Pepper and Peruvian Green wings, and both were excellent. One thing people…read moredon't always appreciate is how hard it is to keep wings crispy while still coating them in sauce. This spot nailed that balance. The batter was thin, light, and crispy, while the chicken stayed juicy and tender. The Lemon Pepper wings tasted like real lemon pepper should. Instead of relying on a heavy premade seasoning, they incorporated fresh lemon zest, which gave the wings a bright, fresh and authentic flavor. I'm usually not a lemon pepper person, but these definitely won me over. The Peruvian Green wings were my favorite. The sauce was herbaceous, tangy, creamy, and packed with flavor. Honestly, put that sauce over a bowl of rice and I'd happily finish every bite. The experience was just as enjoyable as the food. Pete shared samples of his cornbread and brought a fun, confident energy that made the visit memorable. You can tell he takes pride in what he serves, and that passion comes through in the food. I'm giving 4 stars because while I genuinely enjoyed everything, I have a feeling the best is still yet to come. If this is the standard they're setting now, I'm excited to see what future menu additions and wing flavors look like. I'll definitely be back!

My particular visit was on a Tuesday night at Pioneer high school in Whittier. There were 12 food trucks circling the edge of the parking lot. At 6:30 PM there were a lot of people eating, but not a lot of people waiting in lines at the food trucks. By 7:30 PM, most of the crowd had dissipated. When there's not a lot of business, the food truck owners tend to play on their phones. Many of my Instagram and tweets were commented or retweeted, which tells me that they were not busy enough in sales. It's an excellent food truck gathering, with plenty of choices. As a long time food truck blogger, I feel that there's too many trucks and not enough people. Best bites could reduce the trucks from 12 to say, eight trucks, and there will still be plenty of trucks for the people, and more business for the food trucks. A total win-win situation. I do like there's plenty of tables and chairs, and a DJ spinning catchy tunes. On my visit there was also a Photo Booth that the fans can use. Plenty of free parking, but unfortunately once the sun went down, the place got very dark. I hope this location continues to thrive, as the location is very good and the community seems to like it.

Well that did not happen to me when I finally got to try a Lobster roll from the famous LobstaTruck. A few years ago I was at the Tustin AMC when I saw the truck. I had heard about it so we went over only to see a line that was 40 yards deep. No way to make our movie so we put it off. A few months ago I was somewhere that they were going to be only to learn that the truck broke down and the killer was last month when I was in Irvine and saw on Twitter that they were a couple blocks away. I finished my meeting and drove right over only to see the driving away. Aaahhgggg!!!! So today was a few miles away in Long Beach and decided to try the roll. I was shocked to find that there was no line and only a few marines that had just picked up their orders. I was surprised to hear whether I wanted butter or mayo. I thought I all rolls came with mayo but I asked what was more popular. The gal mentioned that the butter was more popular so I had to try that one. I was thinking about adding the extra meat but I am glad I didn't, the roll was perfect although I wish it were a little bigger. The roll here comes on what looks like a giant buttered Texas toast, not the hoagie type roll I was imagining but the toast was really delicious and adds a lot of taste to the roll. My roll had plenty of meat and had a few big chunks that you can really bite into. It had some butter on the lobster but not so much that it was oily. Just perfect. I cant believe how good it was to taste this awesome explosion of deliciousness and I cant wait to get back to try the sandwich with mayo; you know for research. Next time I will also try the lobster bisque soup. The Marine that was eating next to me also had the soup and it really made me crave it but I had a big breakfast this morning and so I will have to chase down this truck again.

Located off of the frontage street, by a grassy street divider, this is a spot to enjoy the eats on the grass like a picnic. I opted this spot, which has a IG of cali tacos please, but no longer exists. This spot on yelp was referred to as sumo tacos. The workers were friendly and very helpful. The sumo fries was delicious. The asada itself was unique. It had a smokey flavor which separates itself from other spots. It appeared to be cooked on charcoal, but given it is a food truck, that would be hard to pull off. The sumo taco was something different. It's cheese melted like a tortilla which holds the asada. It was very heavy, greasy and difficult to enjoy. The chips was a plus where you can rip the taco and place it on the chip. If you want something heavy, this sumo is for you. A bit heavy to my liking, so you might want to try a regular taco or burrito. But then again, it's called sumo for a reason. Curious if this spot would experiment with gorditas, a crisp tortilla. I think their filing would knock this out of the park. I also wish they would advertise what drinks they have. Nonetheless, worth a try.
