Cashier experience was ok. The cook seemed irritated. They chatted a lot, and didn't seem to pay much attention to the cleanliness of the restaurant. Not sure how they got an "Excellent" food score on the door. The salsa bar needed to be restocked and refreshed, and we had to ask for items that should've already been there. The limes looked old and brown. Food just wasn't very good. Very mid. Was lukewarm, salsas did not taste fresh and had no flavor. Cashier handed us chips and had her bare hands touching the chips. A piece of steak tasted really old and bad so much so that I spat it out. Disgusting, almost threw up. Beans were extremely undercooked and hard. So hard that it caused my toothache to reactivate and hurt. Absolutely unacceptable. Food was just not good and disappointing. Would love a refund honestly. Bathroom was gross! Absolutely disgusting. One was down and full of God knows what. No one tended to it. So down to one bathroom. The floor detail was absolutely disgusting and grimy. Looked like it hadn't been mopped or scrubbed in ages. Caked up grime. Older looking bathroom needs to be remodeled. They need to be tending to it and not chatting so much. Only come here if in the area. Nothing about it would make me go out of my way to return. Unless you put more locations in other more accessible areas. Too busy of an intersection.

Maybe 2.5 stars? This is a fast food place and I feel my expectations were fair as I kept that in mind. I went with a limited time offering of the Impossible Bowl and some queso & chips on the side. Like a lot of other fast food Mexican joints, they allow you to choose salsas. They completely forgot my Pico de Gallo, which is the one I really wanted, but the Salsa Verde & molcajete were both good. As you can see in my photo, the amount of queso I received was tiny!!! And for the price I paid? Never again. Ever. The queso to chip ratio is not good and I went from wanting the Pico and being bummed they forgot to actually kinda really needed it. Sad panda! The rice was really water logged and meh. The avocado also could have been in better shape, but it was overall fine. Overall the bowl was pretty damn okay, but when you take the price into account? Not worth it. Too many better options in this area for this type of food!

Baha Fresh is everything they claim to be. The facility is immaculately clean, the food is fresh and delicious! ... and you can create any entrée you want with your choice of ingredients. Portions are generous and pricing is very fair! Don't believe all the whinners' 1-star and 2-star reviews... they are typical young people learning to be righteous when insulted by minor annoyances! This particular store is top- quality! I eat here often. (No, I'm not affiliated with this business in any way... and Yes, I am an accomplished chef who has run a Mexican restaurant).

Wait started probably around 6pm although there were still empty tables then. They provide garnishes for your water and also provide 4 salsas/accompaniments for your meal. I got the 16 oz ribeye served on hot stones. They cooked it slightly less than what you want, so for my medium rare, they cook it rare. It also comes with chimichurri and molacete(?) which has a more refreshing flavor. They season with rosemary and even light a branch on fire for more aroma. I tried a bite of my friend's filet mignon which was good, but my preferred cut is the ribeye or NY strip. We also shared the papa loca (worth it - so good) and the cauliflower (not as good, but I'm comparing it to a version made by Cuerno, a Mexican steakhouse in NY). I had a glass of the pinot noir and the garzon, and both were good, slightly tannic and 'juicy'.

The first time I got the Wagyu tacos which were sooo good and I love the variety and flavor of the sauces. I loved how simple the taco Wagyu is as the meat is high quality For my second visit I got the Vacio Wagyu which came in a sizzling hot stone plate and it stayed hot for me to cook all of my Wagyu. It didn't really need the accompanied sauce but it was nice to have. I felt the large rock salt was a little bit nub and would make it too saucey but I found the rosemary a perfect combination with the Wagyu especially as one was cooking underneath. Excellent service as well - our server was attentive and timely. I've only gone here for lunch and we did not have to make a reservation as it was not too busy!

The food was fantastic, the flavors were on point, and the place was full of energy. There were giveaways like T-shirts, sunglasses, and keychains, though we didn't receive any, which felt a bit selective. We came back on May 12th during happy hour and sat at the bar. Once again, the food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. Alex and Jason took care of us at the bar, and they made us feel so welcome. We even ordered the entire happy hour menu and left completely satisfied. However, we've also visited several times since, including Father's Day. Unfortunately, our most recent visit wasn't as good. We sat at the bar again, and Edwin served us. My wife ordered her favorite margarita with Tajín on the rim and a shaker presentation, but it took three tries to get it right. Each time, there were errors, and we ended up being charged for one of the incorrect drinks. Service was slower than usual--no refills on my drinks, and we had to keep asking for salsa. It was surprising since the place wasn't even busy. Overall, we still love the food and atmosphere at Moctezuma's, but this last visit was a letdown. After all the great experiences, we're dropping our rating to three stars for now and will explore other options next time.

This was our first visit back to La Rioja since the ownership changed, and we had a fabulous meal!…read moreLa Rioja has been one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, and they still create some of the tastiest dishes we've had in the region! The atmosphere of the restaurant has changed just a little, but the cooks are the same and the food is delicious. La Rioja is a little different from most local Mexican Family restaurants in that the dishes are a bit more up-scale and refined, with an emphasis on finer cuts of grilled steak and delicious sauces. You will not see ground beef used here - the tacos come with grilled strip cuts, and they offer a range of steaks which are delicious, served with an excellent chimichurri, on a sizzling stone, with ample sides. Portions are large! My chili rellenos were well prepared, sauced, and twice what I could eat. There were left-overs for everyone in our group! The horchatas were delicious. The food was well seasoned. The dishes came with cilantro and onion, pico de gallo, salsa, or habanero sauce if you wanted it. I did, and it was potent but perfect. The desert custard was talked about all the way home! Service was excellent. Francisco was delightful, attentive and made sure we were getting anything we wanted. If there was a hiccup after the change of ownership, it looks like it has been fixed things nicely. We loved all of our meals and can't wait to go back. The menu is a considerable step up from the typical "taco, enchilada, fajita" fare, but still robust and delicious. With the emphasis on steak cuts and great meat dishes it may be more expensive than many typical Mexican Restaurants but it is well worth it. We will be back!

3.5 stars, but not quite 4…read more Pros - decorations are nice, the staff were nice and came across as warm, casual. They had a taco guy set up outside so we got tacos de carnitas, which were very good, and a mix of cabeza meats. The queso tasted good, and the steak marinade was different but good. Husband is hard to please with salsas, but he liked these ones. Horchata was great, but again, the price was exorbitant. Cons - a $6 coke and my husband's tacos being served on a random paper plate...prices are crazy for the area this restaurant is located at. I got the feeling that the restaurant was a fancy cover for a casual taco place, meaning fancy looking but the staff kept calling out to each other, kind of yelling, obviously not caring about the plating, etc. The queso fundido came with a random piece of tripa, which kind of grossed me out, but I understand cross contamination is bound to happen with an outside cooking station. The steak marinade reminded me of a rice/Asian marinade, so while it was good, it didn't quite fit with the Mexican cuisine for me. Also, I kept burping it up 2 days after, so clearly it didn't sit right with me. Husband felt they skimmed on the chorizo sausage, as his plate came with a piece of sausage, not a full one.
