I had the baja shrimp burrito, it was tasteless and cold - but because the guac made it cold. Wish it was hot though. I am surprised the shrimp tasted fresh and not mushy. Miss Baja Fresh! It is a shame we have to be down in Renton to try one. There aren't any closer to home. The food was typically Baja Fresh. Fresh Mex. We ordered the shrimp and fish bowls. The shrimp were nicely cooked. The fish was a little dry. But the bowls were great. Super fresh and healthy ingredients. Perhaps a little on the plain side. They could have used salsa, which fortunately we had at home. Baja Fresh used to be one of those chains where you could fill up on the salsas at the salsa bar, but it was empty. I don't know if this was typical or a holiday thing but it was disappointing. Fortunately, we had our own salsa at home. But it is why it gets three stars not four. I went there this afternoon and for the second time in 2 months the salsa they gave me was rancid/fermented. The staff is friendly and when the salsa isn't going to kill you the food tastes good. Just can not trust that the food safety standards are up to par when the salsa is bad so often. I will just have to find somewhere else to eat because at $45 it's too much of a risk. Cashier experience was ok. The cook seemed irritated. They chatted a lot, and didn't seem to pay much attention to the cleanliness of the restaurant. Not sure how they got an "Excellent" food score on the door. The salsa bar needed to be restocked and refreshed, and we had to ask for items that should've already been there. The limes looked old and brown. Food just wasn't very good. Very mid. Was lukewarm, salsas did not taste fresh and had no flavor. Cashier handed us chips and had her bare hands touching the chips. A piece of steak tasted really old and bad so much so that I spat it out. Disgusting, almost threw up. Beans were extremely undercooked and hard. So hard that it caused my toothache to reactivate and hurt. Absolutely unacceptable. Food was just not good and disappointing. Would love a refund honestly. Bathroom was gross! Absolutely disgusting. One was down and full of God knows what. No one tended to it. So down to one bathroom. The floor detail was absolutely disgusting and grimy. Looked like it hadn't been mopped or scrubbed in ages. Maybe 2.5 stars? This is a fast food place and I feel my expectations were fair as I kept that in mind. I went with a limited time offering of the Impossible Bowl and some queso & chips on the side. Like a lot of other fast food Mexican joints, they allow you to choose salsas. They completely forgot my Pico de Gallo, which is the one I really wanted, but the Salsa Verde & molcajete were both good. As you can see in my photo, the amount of queso I received was tiny!!! And for the price I paid? Never again. Ever. The queso to chip ratio is not good and I went from wanting the Pico and being bummed they forgot to actually kinda really needed it. Sad panda! The rice was really water logged and meh. The avocado also could have been in better shape, but it was overall fine. Overall the bowl was pretty damn okay, but when you take the price into account? Service was quite friendly here. Place seemed pretty dead, but it was a nice quick stop to go to after shopping at Ikea for a bit. The nacho platter is ridiculously huge! The burrito was a good size. I eat a lot, but this would be too much for me. I ended up getting the diablo burrito with added guac. Burritos are my go-to and rarely disappoint. And I can never say no to guac even if it's offered for a little extra money. It was alright, just wasn't as spicy as they advertise it. Come nacho chips which were pretty plain. They do offer salsa when you pick up your order due to the salsa bar not being open for these COVID times. I chose to not grab any which I regretted because that could've helped spice things up a bit. This isn't the bestest place to get Mexican food, but it was definitely a convenient place to get a decent bite of food. Place is surprisingly spacious when I went, but it was also dead inside more or less. One or two tables filled up and a couple take out orders. If you like this place, good on ya. Best shrimp burrito ever! I had the Baja shrimp burrito and my hubby, with many dietary restrictions did too. The manager accommodated his onion allergy by substituting tomatoes for pico de gallo and sliced avocado for guacamole. He is also diabetic so it was served in a large bowl on a bed of lettuce, no shell. He found it delicious! We enjoyed the salsa bar and had mango salsa and mocajete salsa. Both delicious. Burritos were served with a large portion of chips and we added a drink refill for under $2. Other places make shrimp burritos but they put something on their shrimp that was just amazing. I stopped at this Baja Fresh in the Seattle metro area after a long day at Mount Rainier National Park on June 3rd, 2023. This place wasn't as good as the one in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I ordered a diablo burrito with roasted vegetables & a chicken tortilla soup. The food felt more rushed, and the vegetables were undercooked. The service was slow. The dining room was dated. This has been one of my favorite restaurants for YEARS. I have gone out of my way to go here many times. Yesterday was one of those times, but never again! I walked inside and stopped to look at a sign for a new menu item. The floor was wet and I immediately fell. I was embarrassed and tried to get up quickly because there were a lot of people sitting down eating. One man said, "are you okay?" I said "yeah I think so it was just real slippery here I guess." I got to the counter and asked to talk with a manager so that I could let them know it was slippery and they may want to address that so no other customers fall. The cashier went to find the manager, came back and told me "she isn't on the clock yet." I said okay I still need to order. Proceeded to order my food. Then a lady comes walking up to me and says "what is going on?" I said, "oh I just wanted to talk to the manager." She says "I AM but I'm not in the clock" and proceeds to be extremely rude. Like, OKAYYYY? What does that mean? And why are you out here talking to me then? I try to explain what happened. I'm not acting a fool, not threatening a lawsuit, not demanding free food...nothing. Was just trying to help them out. She asks rudely if I have witnesses. I say "well sure, the whole restaurant and I think your cashier and cook saw me fall." I was literally still so embarrassed. This goes on and on. All I wanted was "oh I'm so sorry, are you okay? Let's get that fixed!" But she called her owner, comes back and loudly tells me that they will have to review their cameras. I'm still like OKAYYY? No kind words, no sympathy, nothing. I'm in actual pain at this point. My knees and one ankle and my hip are starting to feel sore. I'm walking gingerly. I'm still not demanding anything. I just wanted to get out of there. I got my food and asked that the owner call me. At this point the "manger on duty" (Susana) is interviewing people in the restaurant. I leave my name and number along with a brief note on what happened and to please call me. That was yesterday. Still no call. At this point..now I'm mad. I'm quite sore today, as is typical, and have bruising on my knees and hip. Guess I'll be reaching out to those attorneys on tv who can help after a fall in a store/restaurant. Could have been avoided if they could have shown some kindness. Location: In the little plaza down the hill from the hospital and on main road going toward the mall. Ambiance/ View: Simple fast food chain with tables and chairs. little chilly inside. It has a very chain restaurant feel to it. Cleanliness: It was actually clean when I went inside. I didn't use the bathroom,( to see how clean they really are) but from what was visible it was clean. They have a very plain and clean cut vibe so being dirty would be a little to obvious. Customer Service: was sub par. They were helpful, but joking around a little much in the way you could tell they didn't want to be there. When asked what is good for eating they didn't really care and answered anything on the menu is good. It was quick and friendly service but there is a lot of improvement needed. Taste: I decided to try out Baja Fresh for the first time and was not impressed. The inside was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. But the food just wasn't what i was hoping for. For mexican food or even tex mex; it was very bland. I had the Ultimo Burrito and felt it was seriously lacking in flavor as well as a weird consistency of the wrap. I feel like it wasn't a flour wrap or even corn. (It could of been, but wraps aren't that soft and flaky.) I could not tell what kind. I did like the salsa bar they had; but felt some of the salsas were also lacking in flavor, had very weird flavor and also had to much lemon in it. I know for fact I could do better at home. I could go back and try something different and give it a chance. But I feel it isn't worth the drive nor the time. Overall: Julianitos down the highway in kent is wayy better for mexican; If you're craving delicious and flavorful food for the same price if not cheaper than here. If you're not big on flavor and like sub par food, then this is the place for you. I would have given one star if it was just for food impression; but service was quick and friendly and place was clean. How they became chain baffles me. WARNING!!!! Do not eat here! I came here and ordered a beef burrito and told them specifically not to put onions in my food. They did so I complained. They said they would make a fresh one without onions. I literally watch the kid stick his dirty fingers into my burrito and pick out each and every onion. I complained and the girl behind the register said no we made you a fresh one. I argued that I watched him pick out the damn onion and there was still onions in it! So I paid for a burrito that wasn't what I ordered and to make matters worse she wouldn't give me my money back so I ended up throwing the damn burrito away. This is one of our fav fast food places that we go out of our way to visit. Clean restaurant with very friendly staff. However, something changed in the past 6 to 9 months. There is a new shift manager and the supporting crew. They are rude and unwelcoming. They would flat out refuse to let you eat in the dining room, even if you are there 30 min before closing. My last interaction with one of the servers was almost a personal attack. They normally serve you chips and salsa as they prepare your food. I understand they don't have to, but it is a welcoming gesture that we appreciate and enjoy. We go in as a group of 4 to 6 people as a family. Last time after we placed our order, I asked if we could get the chips while we wait for our order, the server, responded tersely, "NO, you will get it with your order". No big deal, but it was such a rude response that I became speechless. Yesterday my daughter wanted to do take out order from them. She had a need to use their restroom. She asked the attendant if she could use their bathroom before she put her order in. She was told no, she has to order first. Amazing. Just Terrible. I got a shrimp chile lime salad, and the shrimp were pretty fishy smelling. All of their sodas taste like some sort of cleaner. When using the restroom, it looked like it hasn't been cleaned in years ( the faucets have holes rusted in them. The freshness is gone. My wife got a quesadilla and it was incredibly oily. Customer service was great and it was a joy to go there. Now, the mid aged lady would not redeem the same digital coupon saying it had to be a printed paper copy and was grumpy when she said that. I was taken back, mentioned Baja honored it before but wouldn't accept it. Was very unhappy and that was the last time I ordered from this Baja. I won't put up with poor service.
