The banh baos they offer here are pricier compared to other Vietnamese delis that also sell them (Q Bakery on MLK is one example) but you can tell they're made fresh and same with the ingredients they have inside each of them! I went here with a bestie on a Saturday afternoon for something quick to eat and came across here. Their parking lot and the overall location is unassuming; you wouldn't expect a place like this to be around what feels like a secluded area. Plus the inside is just the front counter, the menu in big print and some small seating (not for dine-in, though). Bestie and I each got their combo bao, which comes with many ingredients like quail egg, jicama, celery, wooden ears, pork and black pepper. We wanted these heated up, and it took about 10 or so minutes for them to be ready. Bestie did also get a mini bao but asked for it not to be heated so he could eat as a midnight snack. As for the combo bao itself, the whole thing could easily qualify as a meal if you get more than one. Each is about $6 each so they are on the pricier side but it's definitely worth having and it's such a unique addition to the Tukwila area! Our go-to is definitely the salted egg bao with the quail egg. It's rich, savory, and just hits every time. I've never had something like this--various meats and eggs stuffed in a giant steamed bun. It's the perfect thing if you don't have time for lunch or need to eat on the go. This place focuses on Vietnamese bao, a steamed bun with savory meat or sweet custard filling inside! It was tucked away in a small plaza near the south center mall, and I only knew of it from the instagram ads lol there is plenty of parking but the shop itself is pretty small. There was a line when I went in around 11am on a Friday but it moved quickly. Happy hour was during this time too so maybe that's why. I got my baos after about 5 mins of waiting. They give you the option to steam it up now (freshly eaten) or given frozen (to eat later). From what the guy had said to someone in line before me, there's a charge difference between them. I'm not sure which is which, but they it doesn't say that anywhere in the store or signs. I got mine steamed fresh and it was nice and piping hot! Combo bao: 8/10 the filling was good and you get the best of all worlds (slice of chinese sausage, a quail egg, and a salted egg yolk). I will say it's not the most generous amount of filling for the size of the bun, but it was still satisfying.. I'd probably need two combo baos to fill me up lolol but idk if I'd pay the price for it again Duran bao: 3/10 not much durian flavor and the filling was very little compared to the bun. First, let me commend Papa Banh Bao for their marketing efforts and their packaging. Papa Banh Bao was definitely a presence on my IG feed. My wife bought three baos/buns and each one was boxed individually. The packaging was definitely a first class effort and the staff labelled each box. Anyhow, I tried a generous bite of the BBQ pork bun. BBQ pork baos are one of my favorite foods. My mother keeps a steady supply at the house all the time. Oh one note though, this was one of the biggest baos I've had in a long time. Anyhow, onto the review: The filling was really good but not good enough to make up for the bao part. I thought the bao part was doughy (on the dry side of doughy), overly thick, and a bit hard (the bao didn't have a comfortable chew texture). I was immediately turned off. Based on the bao, I had no further interest in trying the other two baos my wife purchased. Granted, I'm not from the greater Washington State area (I'm from California) but I thought the items were overly priced. My wife said, we paid a premium for the packaging. P.S. Quick and easy spot in sort of a strange area. Perfect for a quick bite, my friend and I came in for some baos and got the bbq pork, cheesy bbq pork, and the combo bun. Went to Papa Banh Bao for the first time yesterday! It's been on my to try list for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally got to see what the hype is all about! Still glowing about how pleasant my experience was at this charming family owned business. Viet told us about how it all started from their garage and now expanded to a storefront with shipping to all 50 states. Growing up, I feel like many of us have the nostalgic shared experience of helping our parents fold bao. But their love for bao truly is evident is their products. I find that their baos retain authenticity in flavor and yet still adds a unique twist with the variety of options offered. I tried the cheese bbq char siu bun, taro bun, and durian bun. The cheese bbq bun was flavorful and well balanced with the melted cheese inside. I was intrigued because I never thought to add cheese inside a steamed bun before, and I ate the entire bun before I even got home. The char siu was tender and not overly salty too! The taro bun was not too sweet and so pillowy! You could tell they used fresh ingredients to craft this, and it was so enjoyable. Lastly, the durian bun... is a must try. I won't elaborate further, you'll have to find out for yourself! She shipped some over while they had their holiday special sale and I'm a bit indecisive. They came frozen so you'll just have to steam it so it's basically still 'fresh'. These are good, but a little more on the sweet side vs the more savory ones that you get in the Bay Area. Granted these are 'Vietnamese' baos so it will taste a little different than the 'canto' ones that you get here. Will I eat it and buy it again? I was excited to find a shop specializing in banh bao, and was recently in the area to give Papa Banh Bao a try! It's located in an industrial part of Tukwila with plenty of parking. I ordered 4 to try: combo, chicken BBQ, vegetarian mushroom, and durian. Overall, I was not impressed considering that banh bao is their specialty. The dough is very dense and there is too much dough for the filling ratio. It was not enjoyable to have to eat through so much dense dough to get to the filling because it made my mouth feel so dry. The durian one was not good because of the artificial flavor. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to try this shop and would recommend Q Bakery's humongous, fluffy baos or honestly any dim sum restaurant for a good bao. read more

My friend told me about this place for a while so I decided to give this place a try. This mom and pop shop is located at an industrialized area along a business plaza. Since it is a takeout establishment, there were only a few items on the menu board so it was easy to order. I decided to get the combo bao x2, mushroom bao and the char siu bao to take home. Upon paying, the lady asked if I want the baos to be heated and I said sure. Overall, the baos were delicious especially the combo bao. It was definitely filling for a quick snack. The mushroom bao was just ok and not worth the price ($5). FYI you can order frozen baos online and they can ship it to you. Love this place! It's one minute drive away from our apartment so we frequent this place a lot - especially since I'm ALWAYS craving baos and don't eat meat, it's pretty rare to find vegetarian ones. They have a vegetarian bun with mushrooms that is one of the best ones I've ever had before. She disappears into the back for about 5 minutes. She came out with the charsiu & the combo baos in a nice to go boxes & placed them in their branded paper bag. We went outside to the parking lot to take a bite of much anticipated baos. The size is really small for over $6 each. There's more dough than the stuffing Recommendation to the owners: don't spend your expense on stickers & branded stuff. Bên shop nói là sẽ update dia chỉ cho bên fedex. Lúc này bánh đã bị giữ ở fed ex 4ngày, vì địa chỉ khong đúng. Tính luôn từ ngày gửi đi là 7,8 ngày minh mới nhận được bánh. Lúc đầu bên shop nói cứ open box neu bị hư bên shop sẽ gửi bánh khác. Mình rất hoan hỉ còn nói là bánh không nghe mùi bị gì, nhưng có hỏng không thì ăn mới biết. Và đúng thật khi mình thử bánh thì nhân bánh bị chua. Mình inbox nói ngay với Shop, và đã 3 ngày không nhận được bất kì phản hồi nào. Shop trốn mất tâm.
