Sampler cakes - palm sugar, cassava, pandan, taro & mung bean

I went to Bake & Che for the first time yesterday and loved it so much that I came back again today. Both visits, I ordered the Avocado Che for myself and the Thai Che for my boyfriend. Yesterday, I wanted to try some of their baked goods, including the palm sugar cake and cassava cake, but they were already sold out. I'd recommend coming earlier if you want the baked goods, as I stopped by around 7 PM on a Saturday and most of them were gone. Today, I came earlier and was able to grab their sampler, which included palm sugar, cassava, mung bean, taro, and pandan cakes. Everything was delicious and not overly sweet. My favorites were the palm sugar and pandan cakes. The Avocado Che was excellent. The avocado was incredibly creamy, and all of the jellies inside were delicious. I thought it would come topped with the green jelly pudding shown on the menu, which I assumed was pandan pudding, but mine didn't include it. I still really enjoyed it. The milk they use is so flavorful, and the drink itself isn't overly sweet. I also tried a few bites of my boyfriend's Thai Che. It was refreshing and tasty as well. One thing I liked is that you can customize the sweetness level and choose whether you want the ice mixed in or served on the side. The only downside is the size. The cups are smaller than what I've seen at other places. I believe they're around 12 ounces. The Thai Che was $7 and the Avocado Che was $8, which is typically what I pay elsewhere for a 16 ounce drink. I'd definitely keep coming back for the Avocado Che and the palm sugar and pandan cakes.

If you like Che this is a spot. we went to the one in little Saigon but found out they have a spot here in Rosemead took the family there one night and had Che. ordered the thai che and it was refreshing. we had the one with red bean and tasted great. you can adjust the sweetness which is good

Tastes great for sure there are busy times and they are not busy times when they give you the specials on the text alert like the buy one get one free the lines are crazy long you might wait about an hour even when you order ahead there's a separate line for ordering ahead to check in but it does taste really good I just wish that it wasn't pricey or at least my opinion it's a little pricey but this place is trending for sure. If you give it to a older person in your family to eat you have to lie about how much it costs or else they will be shocked since we always have to lie to the older people how much things cost so they think that it's worth it and it tastes good am I the only person that does that

Brought my grandma and I'm happy to say this spot has her approval haha that in itself should mean this review actually has 6 stars cause grandma be picky. We both got the C1 dessert, and I also got an order of the pandan durian layer cake and an order of the taro cake. The pandan durian layer cake wasn't overwhelmingly pungent with durian, it almost felt like they just brushed the cake with some durian if that makes any sense. The taro cake was delicious! I think they may have warmed it up a little and I enjoyed the bits of taro in it. We came in a Saturday afternoon and was able to park in the lot as well as walk right up to the register. I think 5-10 mins later there was a line almost to the door and all the tables were taken up. My grandma has already decided that we're coming back hahah so I guess I'll have an excuse to try something else other than the C1 dessert!

Service was super quick and easy to order online. If you are ordering online, they package everything to go. Ordered the flandan cheesecake (Pandan) and green thai soy pudding with less sugar. The pandan flandan cheesecake was not too sweet and had a slightly caramel aftertaste to it. It is more of a flan-like cake than cheesecake. As most of their baked goods do not require advance preparation, orders are prepared super quickly. I would not hesitate to ask for the status of your order as it may already be ready.

Very clean, and went early when they just opened and there was no wait. Delicious snacks and drinks. I am so glad people can try some Vietnamese food and this is my first time going to this location. Nice place to catch up with friend ir chat and snack! Highly recommend 10/10 for any one in the area or passing through. A variety of choices and I got the sampler box and they were all ok. I am a huge fan of pandan but I didn't really taste it much, I do appreciate that their desserts are less sweet then typical Vietnamese desserts aka che. I love all the options and the jelly. My mom was a fan and I'll definitely go back to get others to try as well. The restaurant / cafe is very clean and well lit. The staff is friendly and very good customer service Such cute decor and signs. Also I got 2 bags of the shelled macadamia nuts by the cash register and they were delicious! I definitely will be returning for more. They tasted so buttery and fresh, i got the larger bag for $15 and I believe the smaller bag was $8 or $10.

It's so great to have this here in SGV, we no longer have to drive to Garden Grove. This location gets busy and parking is limited. Luckily, there is street parking. Inside is very clean with ample seating and some outdoor seats as well. I have had the House Special with Durian. It's so rich, yummy, and full of toppings. My favorite, though, is the Longan Aloe Vera. It's so refreshing and has a unique taste. For banh, I have had the Cassava and Durian Pandan. Both delicious and perfect snack-sized. However, it's been a few disappointing visits when they run out of the Durian Pandan midday. Will return to try the other drinks.

You already know this is mine and hubby's weekly dessert spot. It's basically tradition at this point. He gets his usual special, I get my Thai dessert, and balance is restored in the universe. Tonight's danger? A deal on the Jell-O. Buy three, get one free -- specifically the coffee Jell-O. And yes... I absolutely folded. Bought three longan jellies and proudly accepted the free coffee one like I had self-control. Staff is always friendly, service is fast, and somehow we're in and out before I convince myself to buy even more. Welcoming atmosphere. Same spot, same favorites, zero regrets. Happy eats!

I was looking for some good che in the area and found Bake & Che. From the reviews, it seemed like they would have something I would like here for a sweet dessert. Now I've had che many times before and enjoy the simple mixture. Here at Bake & Che, it's definitely more of a decorated milky dessert. The dac biet che had all the normal ingredients, but they added some extras and also peanuts. I have to admit the peanuts added a nice crunch to it. But they do go a little crazier with the ice, so I'd recommend asking for less ice, or get the largest cup for maximum che. A regular size cup was $7 for the regular dessert che. It was a little bit more than I expected, as usual che is about two dollars less. If it was maybe less ice, it would be a better match with the price. Counter staff are fine here, nothing too special there. They take both cash and card here. A few tables inside and outside, but they are taken quick if it's a busy day. Parking is on the street side, but can also be crowded if you come at a busier time.

Walking into this dessert shop, you could see how busy it is. There wasn't a line, but almost all the tables were filled. Service was quick because after ordering, within minutes we got our che. We tried the pandan grass jelly with coconut milk and the avocado pandan with coconut milk. It was delicious, but I felt the serving size was kind of small. Most of what was in the cup was ice and coconut milk, not too much pandan grass jelly. Overall, it was good but it didn't blow me away.

We tried the #1 with durian. It was good but I felt there wasn't much to a cup ratio. I wish there was more durian. There was a variety of Che in the cup but didn't feel as satisfying for the price. Service was great and very clean restaurant.

Banh Bo was great! We just wished they had more Che options. We always buy the banh Bo by the box so we can enjoy them for a few days and they are excellent reheated in the air fryer at home. Yummy toasty crispy exterior and soft fluffy chewy goodness inside.

Having been feeling super curious, I really wanted to try Bake & Che as I haven't had Vietnamese desserts very often. There was no line when I got there 30 minutes before closing. The girl was friendly and polite. She asked me, if I wanted the ice on the side. I said sure and later realized that was a great idea. I ordered C2 Thai which contains fresh jackfruit, longan fruit, toddy palm seeds, a variety of jellies, and pomegranate seeds. She gave me a lot of ice in a plastic bag tied up with a rubber band. The cup is on the small side. After taking a few sips through the straw, the liquid was entirely gone leaving the solid ingredients which are too big for the straw. I wish the cup had been bigger so it can accommodate more liquid. It was very difficult to use a spoon while driving home. I decided to wait until I get home to finish my drink. Luckily, I had condensed milk in my fridge. I poured my drink and ice into a bowl and added some condensed milk. Voila! I was finally able to enjoy my drink! Delicious! Really cute small place. The desserts were showcased nicely, but many desserts were sold out by that time. Casual seating areas. It looks like a fun place to hang out with friends and family.

i went to bake and che around 9 am on a monday morning. the parking lot right next store that is shared with other businesses was fairly empty, so it was easy to move around. the wait time was not long either. the service was efficient, receptive, and friendly. there is a restroom in the back near the employee doors. the windows and sunlight helps to make the space more open and new. i ordered two of the C1 che dac biet. i also got a box of the 8 cakes best seller. read more

We tried the Flan Cheesecake at Bake&Che, and it was absolutely amazing! The texture was silky smooth with just the right balance of creamy cheesecake and rich flan -- not too sweet, just perfect. What really stood out was the super friendly and quick service, even though we came around lunch time, which is usually a busy time. Came here when they have a soft opening. This place has good dessert they have few location in orange county. They are now open in Rosemead. Service was OK they had a long line of wait time and its a small place they have a couple of tables and chairs, but not enough. This is ok. Waited for a long time to get to the register 25 minutes wait time and another 30 min wait time for them to pack the stuff and they called out the number. Overall its an ok place. Just the wait line is long, they only had 4 workers. So its understandable. read more

This is a solid spot for cheap, Vietnamese desserts. No longer will we have to drive to OC for this. Typically, they'll have most things in stock unless you come during the later hours. I took a star off just because one of the workers messed up my girlfriend's order. We thought what we ordered came in a box and didn't find out until we got home that we were missing half the order. read more

soo goodd. got the che bo, che thai, and pandan grass jelly. they were all so yummy and refreshing came with lots of toppings. the che thai was a bit sweet but I still thought it was very delicious. will be coming back :) they also offer to bag the ice on the side so it won't dilute the che! read more

I'm so happy they opened a Bake & Che in the SGV! Highly highly recommend getting there early if you're planning to get the baked desserts because they sell out My go to is the Che Thai but I also love the Che Bo! The inside is fairly clean because they had just opened it w/ ample seating but if you're not planning on eating your Che there, I recommend getting the ice on the side read more

People were friendly and speedy considering they're packed out with people swinging by and it's soft opening.... The baked goods were sold out an hour before closing which is great.... I have to come back for the baked goods next time and try everything else that I have not since I've tried half the menu from the bolsa little Saigon location... Came for their soft opening on a Saturday afternoon at their yelp hours says open until 4pm but they were open at 430pm still. Got lucky only a few people in line but they ran out of food so they closed after taking my order I got #C2 house special and their #C5 Three colors. Both were good but I personally liked their house special more since I'm a durian fan. Lots of great flavors and they don't skimp on ingredients! I also tried Pandan coconut jelly for $1.50 and it was more is a harder texture than I expected from a jelly. Coconut jelly is rich in flavor though and reminds me of the real coconut meat. Would recommend to try the place if the line isn't too long, hope they get their staff trained so service will be better. read more

This place smells so good and tastes amazing. I love that it opens at 9am so when you have a boba-ish craving you don't have to wait until 11. I know it's not boba but it definitely still hits the spot. I love che. And the price point is very economical. I love how the price point for jelly are $1.50. I love the sample boxes are only $7. Love all of the Vietnamese desserts here! My favorite is the Chè Thái -- it has a mix of jellies, Logan, and jackfruit-- and sweet coconut milk. You can order your drinks to go, and they'll give you a separate bag of ice so your dessert stays cold. They also have monthly specials with buy-one-get-one-free deals, so make sure to order directly from their website and use the discount code. Service was great, and there's plenty of seating if you want to study or hang out with friends. It gets super busy during the summer!! Plenty of parking inside the plaza or on the street. I have the pleasure of living only about a mile from their only location in LA county. My first time here was Thursday morning at 11:00 AM before Halloween and I was the only customer. I ordered two 12-cake boxes at the counter and I was out within minutes. I let them refrigerate overnight, brought them to work the day after letting them sit at room temperature for a few hours before serving, and they were still fresh. My co-workers loved them. I came back recently for their BOGO che on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM and it was packed. I'd say it was half an hour of starting to get in line and until I was out the door. I don't bother with the online ordering system. The shop desperately needs its own dedicated app like their coffee shop neighbor next door and I think this is holding them back. There's too many problems that can occur with ordering through a mobile browser so I just don't use it. read more

The Green Thai Tea (D1) was pretty solid. I tried the Pandan Grass Jelly and it was okay, I thought it needed a little more. However, I did enjoy the Avocado as well as the Coconut Smash. For their che, they will ask if you want the ice in a cup or on the side. I also had the flan cheesecake which was good and perfectly sweet. Overall, the total was $40 for 4 che, 1 green thai tea, and a flan cheesecake and I'd say that's a pretty fair price. read more

I love bake and Che! I have been going since they opened in Westminster and Garden Grove and I'm so happy they finally opened their Rosemead location because I literally live 5 minutes away. My favorites their Pandan+Grass Jelly Che, not too sweet and very refreshing. They also have their house made Durian Pandan Layers and Cheesecake Flan that really do hit the spot. I gave this a 4star review only because their tables don't seem to be getting wiped down during service hours and their floors are really dirty. Hopefully, this improves over time because they are still somewhat in their soft opening phase. The shop itself is pretty small so it can seem like there's a pretty long line but it moves fairly quickly. read more

Bake & Che has been consistent in the different locations I've been to. I always get their che dac biet. The thing is, they always add in too much kidney beans and ice. I felt like I was eating ice or beans every single bite. Other than that, it's still a good Vietnamese dessert place to go to and chill. read more

I got the longan jelly, pandan jelly, and coffee jelly. Also got Thai dessert and palm sugar cake. Everything was delicious. The shop does not as busy as usual. Waiting time for my order was not long. The shop has plenty seating and bathrooms. The cost of food is reasonable. read more

They're finally open!! #7 avocado is my favorite, but honestly you can't go wrong with any flavor. For to-go orders, they give you a separate bag of ice so you can add to your cup once you're ready to eat, so it doesn't dilute the che. read more

There's an underground lot for extra parking. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers must pay with card and insert phone number in the kiosk, but Customers can pay cash at the counter. Dine in customers grab a metal number that's stacked between the kiosks. Staff spoke limited English, but Staff is professional, diligent, and accommodating. My order took 24 minutes. As mentioned, I love the Creme Brûlée Soufflé Pancake ($17.50). Souffle pancakes in different occasions always look so pretty, are the best everyone's ever had, some some flavor profiles don't work. Maybe that's why the menu sometimes changes. At least put a spread between each layer or pour a lot on top like the others (eg berry or mango). The mint leaves was the most potent flavor in this dish. Over the grapes, blueberries, matcha powder, yuzu. Got the mango triple layer drink this time and if you drink it carefully, you can appreciate the contrast from the mango puree, the milk, the creamy salted matcha. If you just mix it up completely you won't get that affect. One thing that bothers me is because the menu changes I seem to always be unable to get something I'm thinking of from the previous visit. I don't know what was in that latte, but the caffeine hit me after the first sip. The flavor and sweetness were BOLD (to say the least), and I swear the caffeine was off the charts...and that's coming from someone who drinks coffee every day. I really wanted to keep drinking it because it was so good, but I just couldn't. My body was like, "Absolutely not." She was STRONG. I saved the rest, hoping the melted ice would mellow it out a bit, but it was still strong the next morning! You will find some cheap eats in here ranging from Chinese, Thai, Korean and Vietnamese. Today I came here to get Vietnamese dessert at Che Hien Khanh. It is a chain and they have stores in Little Saigon as well. This is a smaller boutique so they do not have everything that the OC locations have. My go to order is the number 21 which is the 3 color or che ba mau. It is a drink/dessert that has an assortment of beans, pandan jelly (banh lot), coconut milk and shaved ice. When you get the drink it will be in layers and you will have to stir it to mix it up. It is similar to halo halo but Vietnamese. The large goes for $6.50 which is not too bad considering Bambu used to be around $8-$9 when they existed in San Gabriel before. Also the large size is huge in comparison. You line up at the food court and you let the staff know what you want. After you pull off to the side and can pay with cash or card. There are plenty of seats at the food court so go find a table and begin mixing your drink. Other desserts I like are the sticky rice, cassava and the mung bean pandan jelly. All the items are not too sweet and full of textures from the different ingredients inside.

Despite its popularity, this establishment, particularly in a small location, fails to meet expectations. It is confusing because it is adjacent to another Vietnamese dessert drink but not affiliated with Bake & Che. The parking space is limited and becomes congested with young college students and local residents, especially during lunchtime. Most can not drive or park especially Asian. The establishment offers a wide variety of Vietnamese Che drinks that are not readily available elsewhere. However, the Signature Flan Cheesecake is overpriced at $7.48 for a small portion, which is excessive. The remaining items are reasonable, but there is nothing particularly noteworthy about this establishment. It deviates significantly from the typical Vietnamese Che experience. While the drinks are visually appealing and refreshing, and the prices are reasonable, the overall experience is not exceptional. The service was friendly and courteous. Bake & Chè is my favorite desert place, went there at least once a week but this time they failed to provide adequate customer service. I had placed a phone order for 13 desserts and 3 boxes of the cakes samplers During my pickup they had failed to provide me the full order. To make matters worse, the bakery notified me 15 minutes before they closed, that the 3 boxes of cake samplers were still at the bakery... I originally had my sister pick up the order earlier this afternoon for an evening event and found it extremely upsetting that the bakery didn't complete my full order, and only notify me once they were about to close without apologizing for their mistakes. read more

I've been here 4 different times since they had their soft opening. A long wait is to be expected since they're a popular establishment coming from OC. Every time that I've gone, Lam's customer service was really good! He's constantly on the register trying to provide the best service possible. He's doing an amazing job. It's not easy being on the register all day but he handle it with such grace! The desserts are really good! My favorite ches from them are the house special, avocado, and tofu. Best Che in town! My favorite is the coconut smash and Che Thai! And you must try the palm sugar pastry! It is to die for!! We love it so much we asked them be apart of our wedding! Tuan has been the person managing the party services and he has been absolutely helpful. He was good with communication, problem solved any issues I had, and found someone to deliver 70 miles to the venue! I am forever grateful! Just hit up Bake and Che in Rosemead after seeing it on Instagram, and it's awesome! This Orange County dessert spot opened a new location in the SGV, and the crowd and long line show it's a hit. Their avocado drink was super refreshing in this summer heat, and the taro cake had a light yet firm texture, totally reminding me of desserts in Vietnam.
