Finally got a chance to try Nuo Mochi! Stopped in on a weekday afternoon at around 2pm and there was still a line. Parking is super easy- there's a little free lot in the back. The space itself is small and this is strictly a pick up and go shop. There are a few benches for you to sit on to wait for your order, but nowhere to sit so be prepared for that. You order on a kiosk or can order ahead. All orders are made to order and SUPER fresh! There are several different options of fillings and each piece of mochi is HUGE! This mochi is a Chinese variation, so definitely different from Japanese or Korean types in that it is SUPER soft and chewy. The fillings are all fresh and plentiful! My favorite was the strawberry- Will definitely be back for that one again! These desserts should be eaten the same day and if you're picking up to take these home, you might want to bring a cooler with you if you've got a long drive Back. But definitely lives up to the hype and worth a try! read more

Heard many bad things about this spot but also heard neutral things about their mochi.. Figured to give it a try myself before judging. I now understand why you may either love it or hate it. Mochi itself is very very soft, quite sticky and not much structure to it. It's more mushy/sticky than chewy. If you ordered a few and couldn't finish it. Eating the next day after keeping it in the fridge, the mochi is much firmer and added that chewiness that it was missing which I would have preferred. And some of the filling options sounded good on screen but a bit much/odd when actually eating it. Some people might really like it but some might think it doesn't pair well.. Strawberry Bobo Mochi - out of all the fruit flavored one we grabbed. This one was the best, I personally did not read the wall of description and found out after eating it that the cream filling was very heavy on cream cheese. Strawberry paired well with cream cheese.. but made it quite heavy. Might be best for kids.. Peach Bobo Mochi -quite floral and didn't really pair well with cream cheese flavor.. Melon Bobo Mochi - honeydew flavored cream cheese with cantaloupe was not what I was expecting. Kids might light this.. Taro Cream Cheese Mochi -flavor sounded great on screen but I'm not sure what I was expecting but I also wasn't expecting an entire block of cream cheese wrapped in taro within mochi.. very heavy. Didn't like this one at all. Taro Meat floss Mochi - if you like sweet and savory, this might be up your alley. Sesame Peanut Mochi -quite hard to eat, if you want this option might be best to opt for the style that is served in trays and eaten with a fork. Sugar Peanut Mochi -this one is similar to the sesame peanut, would also opt for the style that is served in trays and eaten with a fork. Very disappointing experience at Nuo Mochi. When I arrived, there were no other customers in the store. I ordered 3 mochi and waited about 10 minutes, but my order still wasn't ready. Meanwhile, customers who came in after me had already placed their orders and received their items. When I asked about my order, the staff didn't even know what I had ordered. The order was handwritten, and they had trouble finding it. I honestly don't understand how an order for just 3 mochi could be missed when there were no customers in the store when I placed it. The payment experience was also frustrating. I wanted to pay with cash, but they said they didn't have change and couldn't accept my cash, so I was asked to make a bank transfer instead. The issue wasn't simply the 10-minute wait. It was the lack of organization and basic order management--from taking the order to preparing it and even handling payment. I came because I was in the area and was recommended this spot also because the logo was cute. There's some street parking outside but this place is more of a order at the kiosk and eat elsewhere type place. There were many options and combinations, including sweet and savory. We got savory which was a mix of pork floss, purple rice, salted duck egg. Service was fast and they make the Mochi right in front of you. I was already so full from lunch so couldn't fully appreciate the Mochi since it was so big and savory. Came here after the hype died down a little, and honestly, I thought it was a bit overrated. The mochi itself had a really good texture and quality, but I was a little disappointed with the filling. I've been to Nio Mochi a few times now, and it's a great spot when I'm craving mochi. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon, and there were only two people ahead of me, so the wait was short. Ordering is done through a self-service kiosk, and once your order is placed, you simply wait for a text notification. One thing to note: they don't call out order numbers when your food is ready. Instead, you'll receive a text message, then just show them your order number at the pickup counter. This time I ordered: - Twin Flavor Mochi (Sesame Peanut & Soybean) - Black Sesame Matcha Chocolate Mochi I've tried several of their other flavors before, and I realized I definitely prefer their small mochi over the larger ones. The peanut and black sesame flavors are still my favorites--they're soft, chewy, and have a nice balance of sweetness without being overwhelming. The larger Black Sesame Matcha Chocolate Mochi wasn't my favorite. I found the matcha filling a little too doughy and not enough matcha taste. The shop itself is clean and modern. Parking is convenient with spaces available behind the plaza, and there' is street parking in front of the store as well. This place is popular now with the kids (and I recall this place used to be a MochiNut before so there's a mochi connection) but fresh mochi has been around a long time. Had a chance to try some of the offerings and concluded that what we didn't order are probably the items that I would like to eat. It's great that everything is made to order but I did not like the cream cheese that they use. And I like cream cheese if you've seen me with a bagel. The cream cheese here has a bit of a sour note that didn't do it for me. It's like back when Pinkberry was around and the yogurt they used was a bit sour which made me more of a Yogurtland fan. I would like to go back and try the more traditional mochi with just black sesame or peanuts and sugar. I ordered online for the mango bobo mochi and was able to pick up easily. theres a free parking lot out back. this place is more of a pick up and go spot. The mochi is HUGE, i was not able to finish it. the mochi is filled with real mango, boba, and a cream filling. The bobo was an agar boba and they used a cream cheese-like base for the filling. I personally dont like cheese, so i didnt enjoy the fillings as much. However the mochi is super fresh and soft. Huge mochi that has unique fillings from sweet to salty. I mean huge as you can see the pictures. I'd say it's about the size of a softball. To me they are a bit overwhelming and would almost prefer them smaller in size. The sesame nut ($3.50) is powdered or sugar texture. The pomelo mango ($7) was good but I would have liked it with just the fruit but I was not a fan of the cream cheese. The strawberry boba is mid but again I was not a fan of the cream cheese ($6.50). I've seen Nuo Mochi all over Instagram, so my friend and I thought I'd come try it out. The line has gotten significantly shorter (I came on a Saturday afternoon), but even without a line, it still took about 20 minutes to get a mochi. I got the Dark Chocolate Mochi, and it was pretty much just mochi on the outside and a dark chocolate truffle on the inside. I'm not sure what I was really expecting, but it was pretty good, just not stunning. It was also around $7, which seemed to be a pretty steep price to me. My friend got the Mango Bobo Mochi, and she said it was a lot of cream cheese. We came back yesterday because my bf was craving mochi for dessert. There was a long line of people waiting for their orders. Lucky for us, this mochi place is so close to my house that we didn't have to wait at the store and got to pick it up later at our convenience. From the time we placed the order at this kiosk to getting the ready for pickup text, it was about 35 minutes. They hand make their mochis there in real time. I could hear the mochis getting slapped haha. We ordered three mochis total around $19 with tax. Mochis are all super soft and chewy. Taro, Purple Rice, Red Bean Mochi Soybean Powder(Sweet) - our favorite out of the three even though we ate it the next day. It wasn't overly sweet- perfectt! Mango Pomelo BoBo Cream Cheese Mochi - our second favorite, had real chunks of pomelo and mango. Unqiue combo Matcha Green Grape Mochi(slightly bitter) - still good but not as good as the others and yes it was a little bitter but not bad at all. Had real chunks of green grapes inside. Overall, very satisfied with the mochis. It is definitely worth it for me especially because I don't have to wait as long. I remember seeing 77 orders ahead of mine at the time I placed my order. PRO-TIP: Do NOT take your mochi across the street to Atlantic Times Square and knead it on the outdoor tables. The mochi WILL go through all hole and pop out of the plastic wrap resulting in disgusting waste. Finally had the chance to try this super trendy, I guess viral mochi since it was on everyone's feed for awhile. On the way to the maid cafe, I'd usually see a line outside and I'd say to myself I'd go try it when it's a weekday when it's not as busy, but I never wanted to make the U-turn loop around to do so. While we were walking around the area, we thought to ourselves, why not since we're already there. I remember when waiting for the mochi would take 2-3 hours and there was a horribly long giga line in the torrential rain. Man, people will be influenced by anything (but I guess that's how society works). When we went on a Sunday evening, it was around a 15 minute wait for us to get our order and they let you know by text. There's 2 ordering kiosks and you can order online for pick up too. Whichever is the most convenient. With that in mind, the shop's ambiance can feel quite chaotic and very busy since lots of people are there to wait for their order and many times they're not there by themselves. The workers are rushing too, to get out as many orders as possible, but just have your order text message, number, and name ready and you should be good. There's like a chair and small bench inside and fence bench seating outside. There's tables down the way in the plaza next to the dead fountain, but there's no chairs. For my order, I got the: 1) Black Sesame Matcha Chocolate Mochi: -This is one of their special flavors. -Pretty sizeable mochi, around the size of your fist or a softball if you have yuri hands. -Comes in a cup and wrapped in saran wrap. It's easier to bite into and eat this than to try to separate it into pieces and share. -The black sesame part was pretty good, I'll give them that. -However, the matcha part (I guess it's because it's matcha chocolate) is literally an unformed rectangular solid brick in the middle of the mochi. So you're getting a super chewy, gooey, exterior, grainy interior, and then a solid hard brick to bite into. Not appealing whatsoever. My mistake. Despite it being more popular, it wasn't that great and also looked extremely haunting as food gore. 2) Pure Durian Mochi: -I got this for my parents. They liked the durian flavor but was ugh with the overall gooey squishiness of the entire thing, including how mushy the durian was on the inside with how mushy the mochi was too. 3) Soybean Mochi and Dip: -This is their soybean powder mochi (no filling) and it comes with salted milk cream and Oreo. -Looks NOTHING like the illustration that's on their ordering menu. The picture clearly shows like 8 pieces, but you're only getting half of that. Also the Oreo dip looks cute with what looks like a Hello Koala in it, but it does NOT come with that. -The reason I even got this was because it looks like it came with a sizeable amount that I can share with my family AND it looked cute. I was scammed and baited. Wouldn't be surprise that the art is AI slop created for the menu. USE REAL PICTURES GUYS. Definitely not worth the hype at least for what I ordered and from what I've experienced. At least I didn't have to wait that long, but if I was there at the start of it all and got what I ordered, I'd be PISSED. read more

I ordered the strawberry bobo mochi and it was delicious! The filling inside had fresh strawberries with crystal boba and strawberry cream cheese. The mochi was chewy and soft! The filling and mochi were both not too sweet and surprisingly, did not taste very dense. The size of it was HUGE (the size of my fist). I couldn't finish it in one sitting, so I'd highly recommend sharing. I tried to refrigerate my leftovers, but it didn't taste as good the next day. Thus, make sure to enjoy right away! My only wish is that there was more crystal boba! Also, since the filling had an immense amount of cream cheese, it's definitely an acquired taste. We waited about 25 minutes for the mochi to be ready since it's made fresh. Free parking lot in rear. No space to sit inside, but there's a small bench outside that could seat around 7 people. Sesame and peanut mochi - 5/5 The best flavor in my opinion. Very nostalgic from my childhood. Love the nutty flavor from the black sesame and the peanut sugar mixture for the filling. Sugar peanut mochi - 4/5 As good as the sesame and peanut but prefer that one more. Has the same filling but without the black sesame. Finally paying a visit after all the hype kinda toned down. No line at all on Friday afternoon, with option to pre-order online. Nonetheless, even if you didn't, self-order at the kiosk was seamless and quick. The clean petite venue provided some sitting for your waiting time or even for enjoying your mochi on the spot. I got one of their specialty mochi, whose price tag was quite steep IMO, but prolly justified by the gigantic size, literally filled the container cup. The mochi skin was perfectly chewy and fully stuffed with right balance of taro paste and cream cheese. I wished the soybean powder coating was thicker but I overall enjoyed it. I wouldn't disagree with some people saying that the portion was probably bit too much esp with heavy filling, that you might not be able to finish it in one sitting while it's best enjoyed fresh. I first tried this place right when they opened, and I really wanted to give them a higher rating, but no dessert is worth waiting 3.5 hours for. We came on a Saturday afternoon and saw that the line looked short, so we thought we had picked a great time. Jokes on us, everyone was apparently waiting in their cars. We placed our order around 3 p.m. and waited about an hour before going inside to check on it. We tried to speak to the staff, but they had their backs turned the entire time and wouldn't turn around even when I tried to get their attention. I didn't receive a notification that my mochi was ready until around 6:30 pm. It took about 3.5 hours for them to get to our order. Luckily, I live nearby and was able to drive home and come back, but I felt bad for anyone who lived farther away and had to wait around the entire time. I did come back with some family members a few months later, and the wait was much more reasonable, so I'm guessing the initial hype was what caused the long delay. We ordered a bunch of flavors to try, including some seasonal ones. The mango, blueberry, and strawberry were all really good, but my favorite by far was the pure durian mochi. The mochi was super chewy and huge, so we cut each one into 4 pieces so everyone could try a little bit. Overall, the desserts were good, and the wait time seems to have improved. The emoji on the outside is fresh indeed, but there he didn't layer. The filling mochi covering skin ratio is off by a lot. Too much feeling on the inside. These mochis are so fun and massive. They have really interesting flavors and I think there's something for everyone. My favorite came as a shock to me, because I usually like a chocolatey dessert, but the strawberry bobo mochi was really good. This time she got the Taro, Purple Rice, Red Bean mochi and I got the Taiwanese Peanut mochi. We came on a Thursday afternoon and there was no line, but all the salted egg yolk flavors were sold out. We tried these passionfruit pineapple cream and the seasonal black sesame matcha mochi. If they are made to order, I cannnot say but the textures of each filling were vastly different, but the orders did come out quickly. You place an order on the kiosk and they get right to work. The mochi are pretty fresh and they offer a variety of fillings from: no filling, to sweet fillings to even savory! Unfortunately I came during the later afternoon and the savory options (pork floss/salted egg) were sold out for the day. I got to order a few different flavors. And though I don't like the mochi with cream cheese since of the texture, my all time favorite was the one with peanut and sugar. I love that they make this fresh to order, they put it in a bag (to make it easier to eat as it can get messy) and then into a little paper cup with lid. The wait was about 15 minutes, we saw that they were working on a total of 30+ orders. The establishment is really simple, clean and provides a bit of indoor and outdoor seating. Again, if you're a peanut lover, try the mochi with peanut and sugar. It's such a good mix of salty and sweet, great textures because of the peanuts and sugar crystals all wrapped in the softest mochi shell. read more

I was craving something sweet but didn't want cake. Been seeing this come up on Yelp and decided to check out their mochi. Their black sesame and peanut mochi is the same filling as the order twin flavor mochi, so there's no need to order both. For some reason, I was thinking it be different. The twin flavor mochi is better choice cause it's easy to share and less messy. The mochi texture is a bit too soft so it kind of falls apart very easy. The flavors are good. I also tried their taro and purple rice filling and it was good too. The wait wasn't too long. Overall, it hit the spot. If you're too lazy to make your own mochi, just get some here. Came by on a Thursday afternoon and only was took about a ~10 minute wait (ordering + waiting for items)! Parking is either street parking in the front of the lot in the back structure shared with other businesses. Ordering is through a kiosk which had plentiful options to choose from as well as language assistance. I got a bunch of mochis to try but the star was definitely the durian mochi. They are very generous with their fillings! The texture of mochi is the perfect amount of chewiness and is thin so you aren't getting a whole mouth full of dough. Some mochis give you the option on which outer powder you want to mix it with as well. Everything is made to order so I definitely understand how crazy it would be during their busier times. read more

I heard about Nuo Mochi last year and came by a few times to see how long the wait is. The last time I almost ordered, the wait was about 50 minutes, which I decided not to wait. This past Sunday I came around closing and the wait was about 15 minutes. The good thing is that when you order at the kiosk, they give you an estimated wait time. There were a lot of things sold out, so I opted for the strawberry, grape and taro rice. I wandered over to the plaza and few blocks away and then came back and my order was ready. I took it home to eat and tried the taro rice first. The mochi was huge and I really enjoyed the outside. Not a huge taro fan but it was decent. I was most looking forward to the strawberry and grape and ended up pretty disappointed. I really disliked the cream cheese, it was odd with the fruit. I just didn't like the combination. I ended up eating about half and tossing it. Kind of disappointed as there was so much hype around Nuo. I definitely liked the outside but the filling left a lot to be desired. Big fat mochi lol I always see a long long line when driving by. It got me somewhat curious lol I m not a fan of mochi, but I do like to snack on it here and there. Decided to drop by one afternoon. Lucky for me. The line was short. I ordered thru the kiosk. There were plenty of options. I got 7. Wanted to order the grapes, but the images of green grapes with cream cheese in a mochi just sounded a bit crazy. So skipped. Waiting for the mochi wasn't that bad. Esp., knowing the fact that they do make it there fresh once you placed the order. It motivated me to be more patient. I ordered sugared peanuts (2), black sesame (2), durian, taro mochi rice, and a taro mochi salted egg w/meat floss. Like I mentioned above, the mochi here was huge lol i for sure couldn't finish one myself. Since they do make it after you placed the order, the mochi was super fresh. Was it worth the price? Yesh! $3.50 for the reg sugared peanuts or black sesame. Where in the area can you buy such big & fresh mochi for the price?? Just here. There was nothing special about the filling for the peanuts. It was just peanuts & sugar in a very fresh mochi. I didn't try the black sesame yet, but I assumed that it would be the same. The durian ($7) was plain and simple. The durian itself was creamy, sweet, and tasty. Couldn't even taste the frozen in it. So it was good. Wish there was more to it. They should add something to make it more unique. The taro purple rice mochi was unexpectedly good. It was prob the best one. There was a good amount of purple rice and taro. The taro was fresh. The purple rice was cooked nicely. It would be a very good snack to munch on. My second favorite was the taro, salted egg w/meat floss. Never in my life would I think such mixtures would work so well together. I love salted eggs and taro. It was executed beautifully. My only regret was not getting the taro, salted eggs, and purple rice with meat floss lol I gave some away and have some left overs. I'll start off by saying I definitely understand the slew of poor reviews. There are a lot of things to not like- the density of the mochi, the lines, parking & slow turn around. But despite that I definitely think it's worth trying at least once. My favorite mochi was the black sesame, Matcha and chocolate ball. Be worn it is extremely dense and eating it kind of feels like eating a block of clay probably not a popular texture but personally I really liked it. Definitely make sure you have water to eat this one though. The black sesame one was probably the best all around - the lightness of the mochi and the crumbled interior was delicious. My least favorite was the strawberry and cream cheese one. I can't say I wasn't warned but the cream cheese was just so odd. I think I would have preferred this if it was just a cream without the cheese. The lines tend to be pretty long on a weekend, but on the weekdays, you can probably catch them without any line. Serving are generous in the staff worked as fast as possible, but the space is very small. Hence you might be waiting a while. read more
