Fish taco: 8/10 -- the crisp was amazing! wish it was a little saucy (maybe the white sauce that was on the chicken?) but still wow, with the hot sauce this was great!! Shrimp taco: no rating bc i didn't try but my friend got this and really enjoyed! Chicken taco: 6/10 -- a little dry and nothing too crazy Rice and beans: 8/10 -- yum!! good with nacho chips and on its own too. Guac and chips: 9.3/10 -- delish!!! creamy and flavorful i looooved this guac down but i minus points bc the avocado was not fully mashed and i think the texture was a little off bc of it. would absolutely still come back and get this though. Classic virgin marg: 9/10 -- everything i love about a marg minus the tequila (sorry) yeah sign me up! Limited menu but it is clearly perfected. Tacos are $4.50 ea so it is easy to get a couple and try different flavors. Loved the concept and vibes inside but it was hard to take pics in the lighting. Low exposure is a camera setting not a light setting please add lamps (kind of joking loool) anyways.... so! Plenty of parking on mass ave and easy to walk over from most places downtown. Service was okayyyy nothing crazy. I'd recommend a reservation for dinner bc they get busy! did not realize they have locations in OH, MI, and PA.

The Bakersfield margaritas are legendary. Not to mention, I've never had a bad street taco there. Although their portions are small, they are filled with authentic flavor. It can be a little bit on the expensive side, but they do have certain deals available. Overall it's a fun space with a lively atmosphere.

The food here was really good. We had a chips and guacamole with queso and a pitcher Mezcal Margarita which was the best margarita Ive ever had. I loved my fish and short rib tacos. If I had known they were as small as they were I would have probably gotten 3 instead of 2. The service was ok, we had a party of 3 and had a really small table and had to remind our server that we had another person in our party (who was parking the car) for them to bring an additional seat and additional water but overall pretty good for a Friday night.

The best thing here was the pineapple margarita, the vibe and the service. Highly recommend the pineapple margarita. I had high hopes for the short rib queso but it needed more short ribs and flavoring and also tasted like canned cheese. I then ordered the Baja shrimp taco and I believe a pulled pork taco. The Baja shrimp has potential but the pulled pork was super dry. I'd recommend for a happy hour.

Really good Mexican restaurant on Mass Ave. the atmosphere is old brick, with some nice decoration on the wall. Just a great comfortable atmosphere. We were down in the downstairs section since we had a large group, they were very helpful. Our waitress was fantastic. She was so helpful took care of all of us. We had two people show up very late and she got with them right away and got them taken care of so that they got caught up with the rest of us. Food was really good. we had chips and their salsa trio as well as queso. A number of people got empanadas they were crispy and totally stuffed. And then most of the rest of us got some tacos variety of chicken, shrimp, pork, and one vegetarian. Olive more great. They were small, but they had tons of meat and other spices and additions. Really great food. In addition, they had excellent margaritas and old-fashioned. Highly recommend this place. Prices weren't bad at all.

Another Yelper told me about Bakersfield's Tuesday taco special day. It is any taco for $3 each or $1.50 savings each. I did not realize that not only does the restaurant have outdoor, front eating area but also an enclosed, yet open sky, back patio. It is connected to The Oakmont restaurant. The concrete was a little slippery at the benched table with an umbrella. The restroom stall door was rustic metal. I ordered a short rib taco and tried a fish taco without slaw and with sauce on the side and add pineapple pieces. The flavor and quantity of the short rib were much better than the fish taco so I ordered 2 more short rib tacos but without creme and with pineapple bits. If I am in the neighborhood again on a Tuesday, I would definitely go back!

I loved being able to make a reservation. We had tickets to a show and wanted a low stress dinner experience for our party of 7, including out of town guests. Seating inside for our party was a large table with benches, we fit comfortably with lots of room to spread out. Music was a little loud for my taste. Drinks were great we got several Margs. No frozen margs, all on the rocks in a mason jar. Food options were good; we started with chips and salsa, guac and queso. All very good with generous EXCELLENT chips. Waiter alerted us tacos were small and they were priced right for finger food. We had a large assortment, tasty and not over filling. Taquitos maybe could be served with sauce on the side; very messy. Just a really nice dinner before our show. Thanks!

This is my go to food spot on Mass Ave. Tacos are always amazing! I heard Nada has closed down, so if you're looking for a similar spot, check out Bakersfield. The atmosphere here is so warm and inviting and great for a date night. They have private areas if you have a large group downstairs or offer bar seating if it's just 1-2 of you. Service is always great.

Great spot for margaritas and appetizers. I went here for a happy hour. I got a spicy pineapple margarita and chips with chorizo queso. The margarita was OK. It was very spicy, but I wish it was sweeter. The chips and queso was amazing. Inside it is very open. There is a lot of dark hard wood. On summer days the windows are all open and it feels good inside. The staff was very friendly and everything we ordered came out quickly.

Bakersfield seems to always have a wait because of how popular it is. There is also not a TON of seating which contributes to this as well. It is easy to get a drink at the bar while you wait which is nice. I really like their sangria. I do think for tacos and drinks they are a little over priced- $4-$5 for single, small taco is a little pricey but they are more "fancy" than your basic ground beer, lettuce, cheese tacos. The sangria was good- I believe it was more than $30 for a pitcher though. I like their chips and queso and the quac. Not a huge fan of the restaurant due to cost and wait but a lot of my friends enjoy going and the food is decent and servers were all friendly. More of a place I would go if I was invited than choose to come but maybe if I keep trying the different tacos I'll find one that's worth returning for :) read more

Dinner Tonight was at the Bakersfield. Now, in the past I've had some rough experiences, but today was by far the best experience here. Our server Jack was super on point and fast, over all customer service was great. Our appetizer was the Esquites and The Trio. We had the Monday drink special the Four Roses for 3$ (Not bad), and we had tacos 3Carnitas, Pollo Verde, and the Fish. All tasted very good. And it wasn't a long wait. read more

I've been trying to get here for some time now, and I'm happy I finally made it! Bakersfield is a live place. It's busy, and the aromas that come from this place is intoxicating. I had reservations for five and I received a text that our table was ready maybe 15mins prior to us pulling up. We didn't want bar seating so we chose to sit outside. It was warm outside, but not unbearable.....until we started DRINKING!, but even then we still had a great time! We ordered appetizers and honestly, we got full off of those alone! We ordered regular queso, short rib queso(beef), and the appetizer Trio, which came with guacamole and two different salsa dips.(Verde and Rojo). That guacamole was FRESH FRESH!!!! I like to think that I'm a Mexican cuisine connoisseur lol, so I know fresh guacamole when I taste it. Of all authentic Mexican places I've been to, Bakersfield guacamole is the BEST! Every taco we ordered was on point too. My favorite was the Baja shrimp taco. The only issue I had was the table we were at. It was close to a sewer so we kind of smelled sewage a few times. But we kept saying if they knocked the wall out behind the table, it would be more open and a better breeze would come through, nonetheless we still had a great time, with great friends, and great food! We arrived in Indianapolis and checked into our Air B &B about 3:00 Friday. We skipped lunch so we were quite hungry but had already made dinner reservations. We needed a cocktail and snack to hold us over. Daniel searched Yelp and found this gem. First of all, the location is great! We were seated in the windows that fully opened which was cool. Our server, Stephen, was fantastic. He suggested the house margarita and the spicy pineapple one so we ordered one of each. They may be the best margaritas EVER. Not only do they taste great but they are super strong- 2.5 ounces of tequila in one. WooHoo! Fresh ingredients- none of that sour mix crap. Since we were only planning on having a light amount of food, we order the Trio which was tortilla chips with Guac, salsa and salsa verde. We also split a pork taco and Baja Shrimp. So fresh and flavorful. We were enjoying our experience so much that I called and cancelled our dinner plans and we stayed here and order more tacos. Our server was so cool- he even gave us the chips trio app for free. If you love good tacos and good margaritas, you will be in heaven here. it is a must try and a must go back again and again. read more

I think this place is boosted. I've never been placed in the basement before and although it wasn't bad, we had already made a reservation and there was a rehearsal dinner going on so we felt like we were intruding. The food was decent but too expensive for the tiny tacos we received. Best thing I had was the seasonal drink I had. read more

I used to love this place but it has definitely gone downhill over the last few years. The margaritas are now fluorescent green and hardly have any tequila in them.... Like I'm not kidding it's like drinking straight mix my friends and I always end up having to order extra shots on the side. Not to mention the pitcher used to be $34 when we first started going and has only climbed and somehow lessened the alcohol content? But the queso is what keeps bringing me back. Absolutely horrific service. We came in mid afternoon so the restaurant was only half full. We then sat for 10 minutes before we were offered waters. We then ordered drinks - our waitress must have forgotten those, because I just went to the bar when it didn't show up. Two things we already know... You can't seem to get in here.... and it's loud loud loud... so if you want to have some dinner conversation, this is not the place for you. Come here to drink and eat guacamole and tacos. Those are all delicious. Expensive, but so worth it. I think those are known facts also... Bakersfield is amazing. It is definitely becoming my end of a rough day/week spot. All I need is a margarita whether it is the house or the spicy margarita to ease that rough day. Btw the spicy margarita is actually spicy because they put peppers in the drink which makes it spicy and pretty. Per the food my go to is the prime rib torta it never disappoints. It is moist and has a robust flavor. The chips and guacamole and elote dip are really good too. The great thing about this place is that you can eat inside, outside on the patio, or the basement. This is a good place to the end the night on throughout the week/end. I really like this place it is one of my favorite places on Mass Ave. read more

I love Bakersfield! I went for dinner with a group of six others on Friday night and was able to get right in without a reservation! We sat inside and the tables seemed to be spaced out to meet the Marion County restrictions. We started it off with the loaded queso and cucumber margaritas, which I highly recommend. Full of delicious flavor and light. Not heavy at all. I had the Willie salad. I honestly did not know what I was expecting because it was my first time at Bakersfield. It was absolutely delicious. The tortillas were a hit. Not too corny and light. The dressing was great! Our server was very nice. We all really enjoyed her! She delivered fantastic service. She also seemed to keep her distance for us and wore a mask properly. I will definitely be going back soon! read more

We made a reservation for five and they sat us at the skinniest table to ever exist (couldn't even put two small plates one in front of each other. The waiter took 15 minutes on the clock to come take our drinks. I get it you are busy but at least acknowledge your table. When the food came out they brought out the wrong order so while my friends ate I had to wait another ten minutes for my food to come out. Needless to say the waiter didn't even acknowledge or apologized for the mistake. Once my food came out it was nothing out of this world to be honest. Last, they brought the checks wrong by charging us $12 over. Again, waiter didn't even apologize for the mistake. Definitely, wont come back read more

Seriously amazing margaritas! The only downfall is it's always super crowded and hard to move around, no matter the time of day I've visited. So there's always a wait, and honestly it usually deters me from going. But we bellied up at the bar in the middle of the afternoon, had a margarita and some chips and guacamole and Rojo salsa (both also amazing). Had a good bartender and enjoyed ourselves. And the street tacos are always fantastic--didn't have any this time but know from past visits. So the food is always pretty good and the margaritas are fantastic, it's just a matter if you want to wait out the crowds. Definitely grab a margarita or two or pitcher lol! read more

Bakersfield has been one of the more popular locations on Mass. Ave for a while and although I usually came here for the drinks on Sunday Funday, the food is worth mentioning as well. The restaurant is strongly influenced by "The Old West" from the way the basement is set up, to the font on the menu, & even the classic western movies being played all day. The margaritas are some of the best around and make visiting here worth the trip for that alone. With that being said if the margaritas weren't enough reason the tacos would definitely keep you. We tried 4 different ones and throughly enjoyed each one as they take on a character of their own. My personal favorite was the Bistec (marinated grilled steak). The service here is fine but when it gets busy it can be a little slow but they are still nice when interacting with guests. This place is ideal for grabbing some good tacos & drinks with friends and family. read more

Bakersfield is always a crowd favorite in our house. We stopped in the other day for national margarita day for dinner and their drink specials. They were able to accommodated us right away and had great COVID-19 protocols in place. Our waitress was on her A game and provided great service. We had margaritas and a variety of their amazing cocktails. I highly suggest starting with the Trio and/or Loaded Queso. They have great bar area upstairs with a great atmosphere and their bartenders always give the best service. read more

The hostess was a complete idiot. It was 2:30 in the afternoon on Sunday. We asked for a table for five in the bar. She looked looked at us and said no way. there were open tables all over the restaurant - one was four top and we asked if we could pull up an extra chair and put it on the end. She went off and said no way. She was condescending and totally unprofessional. We walked out and went to Eagle where we had a $409 tab. Suck it Bakersfield and your witchy hostess. Stay away from this mess. read more

I like a dim atmosphere, but it was hardly lit enough to read the menu. It was difficult to navigate as it was mostly in Spanish. Extremely limited vegetarian options which I'm not sure I can assume were actually without chicken base in the rice, etc. I didn't even see a vegetable fajita on the menu. My vegetarian burrito sans crema and cheese consisted of little more than rice and a couple small diced pieces of avocado and diced tomato. Iceberg lettuce? I saw corn niblets and a pea fall out. Bland. Hot sauce choices not fantastic. What kind of burrito contains no beans?? Everyone else at my table received flatware. I was given a plastic fork. Once I received an actual fork & knife, they kept tearing the paper underneath my burrito. Strangely served with raw cucumber (ick) & lime wedges on the side. Edible at best. The atmosphere looked interesting upon entry, but it felt grungy, the chairs were heavy. I was seated right next to a brick wall/chimney. Service was sparse. Definite language barrier. The dish my companions received was an array of meat in a molcajete. Mixed feedback on the peppers being ungodly too hot & some of it, especially the sausage, having a good flavor. It was massive & messy. It was interesting initially but definitely didn't look appetizing to me. That came with a bowl of beans in sauce with what we later discovered were Chicharrón on top. It looked like boiled mystery chicken skin. A friend from SoCal I consulted online had no idea what it was from my photo as we tried to discern it & they didn't realize it was even Mexican food from the appearance. It was assumed I was at an Asian joint. We had to ask for drink refills far into our meal. I was given a fresh new cup. The server took another person's cup from the table and refilled it in the back. That was strange and seemed unsanitary. We didn't get everything we asked for. I'd say language was the problem except for the fact the server had understood my requests when "crema" was the only Spanish word I used. Ladies' room had room for one person at a time. The sink was backing up. It felt dingy like the rest of the building. I'm glad they had paper towels and not just a hand blower. I didn't choose the restaurant. It was one of the worst if not THE most horrible Mexican meals & experiences I've had in my life. Hard pass. I'd gladly pay more for better fare elsewhere. I can make far superior at home.

Word of advice, you can always add more but you can't take away. :) For the entrees, we ordered the filet mignon and rib eye, both with navy bean soup and mashed potatoes. Amazing!!! For the sides, we got the lobster Mac n cheese and the brussel sprouts. I would order it all again, except for the lobster Mac. The noodle was over cooked in our opinion so it was more mushy and soft than we like. The cheese flavor is great. Thought we would get more lobster or at least incorporated into the side, not a few pieces placed on top. For the price, we expected something a bit better and the lobster to be fresher. Overall, loved the experience and would come again.

It is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of The InterContinental hotel. The host stand for the restaurant is located directly across from what appeared to be the guest check-in desk. It was a little confusing. Several of the items on the menu were very appealing, the B&B Omelet, Croque Monsieur, and Ribeye French Dip to name a few, but I opted for the Little Gem Caesar with Blackened Salmon. My husband ordered The Traveler with eggs over-medium. Everything was perfectly prepared. The proportions for the salad were just right and the salmon was juicy, flavorful and crisp from the blackening. My husband wasn't expecting the somewhat unique preparation of the breakfast potatoes, but I found them to be satisfyingly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I also ordered the seasonal Strawberry Margarita with a sugar rim. It was light and refreshing. The atmosphere is very chic, stylish and feels very upscale. The dining room, and even the restrooms, boast this amazing natural light from all of the great, big windows! Our server, Roop, was kind and attentive and the hostess was warm and inviting. We will definitely return to try some of the other offerings in the future. Very cute brunch spot!

We both agreed the mac and cheese was the best part, really good. The rest of the food felt a bit bland. The tenderloin was filling, but the mayo and toppings didn't add much flavor. Even the waitress mentioned she prefers it with ketchup and cheese. We have been here before and remember it being much better, which made this visit a little disappointing. Service was solid. We had no wait at 7:30 on a Saturday, the food came out quickly, and our waitress was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is still a big plus here. The space looks great inside and out, and the location along the river is hard to beat. It was a little chilly when we went, but on a warm day sitting outside would be ideal, especially with live music.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE IT'S ONLY TACOS" If your looking to pay for Tacos at an inflated price,this definitely is the place! Does the name "Bakersfield" really infer "Tacos"? Lanni Bros. were high as hell when they came up with this doozey. The Bros. from Cincy are really a wrecking crew for sure and have no sense of branding...Entering the establishment feels like a claustrophobic welcome with employee's hovering at the door or are they just lost patrons? The welcome booth or Keeper of the gate was right there! you open the door and BAM! she smiles or frowns (depending on their personal conversation)Am I on the guest list?Ausweiss Bitte!Hope I didn't interrupt? Enter kind Sir! I walk towards the only inviting area,the bar which wraps in a most obnoxious way,in an L-shape which is only really used in a corner and causes traffic jams but these guys threw it right in the middle of the place.(Taffer would destroy these guys)The bar reminds me of a lemonade stand.Booze is thrown onto a back wall which you need binoculars to see and the taps are ,well I did'nt notice em,Nothing here to see,move on.We order'd from their menu,the regular stuff,nothing spectacular except the damn Bill!I I "FOR GODS SAKE IT'S ONLY TACOS"!dare you at this point to go there with four people and eat for under $100(1 Drink a piece). Despite the good reviews, I don't know why I kept passing on Bakersfield. I finally got my act together and checked out Bakersfield for dinner. Once I got there & saw the menu, I couldn't shake why everything looked so familiar. Then, I realized that I've been to Bakersfield in Nashville! I had a really good experience there, so I was looking forward to a similar experience. You won't find any street tacos here - catina style 100% We started off with chips, salsa & guac. My favorite was the rojo salsa - nice and smoky. The guac was good, but it's not the best. This is not Bakersfield's fault because I know it's the weird avocados in the midwest. Just trust me, it's not the same as a California avo. Like in Nashville, I got the fish (crispy hake, tabasco lime sauce, citrus slaw, cilantro), hongos (portobello, poblano, fresno, bell pepper, kale slaw, cotija cheese), and huitlacoche (corn truffles, roasted poblano, corn, onion, cotija cheese, cilantro) tacos. I also always pay the extra dollar for house pickled jalapeños. When served, I could immediately see and smell the pungent cotija. Yum. Fish and hongos were great! The huitlacoche was fine - tasty but not as tasty. It's a good vegetarian option though! I think I thought the same exact thing last time in Nashville too. I never learn, ha. My boyfriend got the Cubano Torta (beer braised carnitas, chorizo, red cabbage, black beans, pickled peppers, monterey jack, poblano dijonnaise). He seemed to thoroughly enjoy it and even took the other half home. The sauce it came with was fantastic - it was like a latino spin on a carolina bbq sauce - it was super vinegary and flavorful. We unfortunately had to rush through dinner for an obligation, but the server (in training) was fantastic! She knew the menu well and was a natural. read more

"If you know me, you know I love tacos. And just reminiscing on my meal at Bakersfield has me smiling from ear to ear. I loved the restaurant from the moment I walked in. The decor is so modern yet western (lots of wood paneling!). However, it's so authentic to its western roots, all the way down to the western movie that plays on the screens on the walls. Unfortunately, I did not get a margarita so I'll get that out of the way now. My friend did and it looked delicious. I assume it was since she ordered two! On to the food, I ordered the chicken taco special and the short rib taco. Satisfied isn't even the word. The chef put his foot it in those dishes! I prefer hard tacos to soft tacos, but the balance of soft taco to meat to toppings was absolutely incredible. I did also order the queso. That was disappointing. Left much to be desired. As for service, my table ended up with two servers because of a shift change. The first server was very attentive, constantly checking in to make sure we were happy or to see if we needed anything. We closed out the tab we had with her and she told us we'd receive another server. We ran out of the water and wanted to place more orders, but no one ever came. Came in late on a Tuesday night hungry for tacos and margaritas. Did not disappoint. Tacos are hearty and filling. The short rib taco is well seasoned and plenty meaty. The pork belly tacos were so good I had to order another. This one is my favorite - pineapple really complements the pork belly flavor and texture. If you're going to get a margarita, and there are 3 of you, you'd do well to order the pitcher. You'll definitely get your money's worth out of it. The classic Bakersfield is recommended. Why do I give this 3 stars? The mood was pretty much ruined when the server ran the checks. She got our cards mixed up and we waited thirty minutes past closing time for her to return with our cards, only to have her tell us she couldn't fix the charges. So we ended up just having to fix it amongst ourselves. She offered a gift card for the difference, but it would have been pointless since we were all only visiting for the next week or so and would likely not be returning. I realize this was an honest mistake on the server's part, but it really did put a damper on the end of our night and at that point we were getting antsy and just ready to leave. Great place. Lots of seating and you're welcomed kindly by waiters and waitresses. They are all smiley so you can't help but smile back. Very kind of them. They are approachable too. They have a bar section with fresh fruits. The menu has lost of variations but I ordered Al Pastor. It's a Chile marinated pork with pickled white onion, cilantro, pineapple, verde salsa place on a crispy corn tortilla. I had it with their Paloma crafted cocktail made of herradura reposado, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, grapefruit bitters, and Jarritos grapefruit soda. I did come with friends and I never thought we would end up filling our table. We kind of chose different orders and shared it with each other. We wanted to try a lot of their menu because the reviews are promising. And even some of our friends who already dined here suggested we try different options for each of us. The place gets crowdy but it's a huge place with a lot of seating so there's never an empty seat. Even the bar area's always full. I love that the staff talks to us and asks us if we needed anything making sure we're having a good time. It was a good experience for me. And I would really love to go back and try on other offers on their menu. read more

Bakersfield on Mass Ave is one of my new hot spots to go. We arrived shortly after 2pm today after attending Pride and it was poppin! It was hotter than H outside so we stopped in for a quick drink and ended up with a phenomenal, unexpectedly great experience. The food here was out of this world! We started off with waters and she recommended the guacamole to us. It was full of flavor and surprisingly very refreshing for such a hot day. We also tried a few tacos and had a pitcher of the spicy Margarita and my tummy left very happy. We had the short rib, the red chicken, the fish Taco (my personal fave), and the pork belly. They were all extremely good and very flavorful. And that marg! To die for! Service was outstanding! Our waitress, Allie, kept our waters full the whole time and was extremely knowledgeable about the food. We took her full recommendation and are still super satisfied! She was very personable; one of the best waitresses we've had downtown in a while! She showed us pictures of her adorable dogs and made us feel right at home. Come to find out she had only been working there for a couple of weeks! Over all, 10 out of 10, will come back to dine for sure! read more

Easily one of the top 3 dinner dates that my wife and I have enjoyed in downtown Indy. The food is excellent. Truly excellent. We heartily recommend starting off with some queso or guac - the queso is highly customizable, but regardless of the toppings, it's earthy, creamy, and warm. The tacos are fairly typical street tacos - maybe a little smaller than average, but the tortillas are handmade in-house and the ingredients are strategically fashioned to bring out memorable flavors. There aren't any bad tacos on the menu, though I'm partial to the Bistec, Carnitas, and Fish varieties, myself. Our visit wouldn't have been half as enjoyable without our server, Leah. (The taller one, not the shorter one - apparently there are two, but we only met one, so she is our favorite Bakersfield Leah so far). She struck the perfect balance as a waiter - she was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable, but didn't oversell the menu and didn't disrupt our dinner conversation in the slightest. Drinks were refilled promptly and the check was brought in a timely fashion. Kudos to Leah for completing our experience. read more

I took my mother to Bakersfield for Mother's Day and Bakersfield was just okay for me, my mother and brother. I got the vegetarian tacos that had corn and peppers, not sure of the name of the tacos but it just was not a lot of flavor for the price that you pay for tacos. My mother got steak pork and chicken tacos her favorite was the pork tacos this steak and chicken she said we're dry. My brother got the steak and chicken tacos and said the same was you dry and not that flavorful. They charge $4 per taco and it's not enough flavor in my opinion I like the location on Mass Ave but I took Bakersfield as a bar that sells average tacos. The staff was not the friendliest. Our waitress never checked on us to give us refills or to see how our food was but it could have been because of the holiday. The waitress who greeted us was very pleasant. I personally won't probably come back but I look forward to other yelpers and other newcomers reviewing the location but nice bar. read more

We visited on Friday May 22 for dinner. It was crowded and a great atmosphere, but what even made it better was when our table was ready and Ryan came upstairs to make sure we were ready and to see if we needed any help. I was on a cane and walking a little slow. I agreed to go downstairs and Ryan was there the entire time to make sure I made it and did not fall. There also was another gentlemen with red hair that had a flash light and made sure I saw every step on my way down. Once Ryan got us to our table, he was right there making sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything. He answered all of our questions, made suggestions and with a big smile on his face. Ryan was easy to talk to and our kind of funny, nice and ready to help guy. I tip my hat to Ryan....great person!!!!! Happy, ready to help and helped me again on the way up. My family and I went to dine @ Bakersfield for lunch last weekend. The wait was over an hour long. When you have a 3yr old and a 5yr old, there is no waiting to eat. As we began to walk away to look for a place that wasn't so crowded, the General Manager chased us down the block. Long story short, he bought me and my wife a couple margaritas, an appetizer, and some flavored sodas for the boys while we waited for our table.To appease our less than patient children, he provided them with coloring chalk so they could draw on their chalkboard walls to stay busy while we waited. We were seated in about 30 minutes. The guacamole is the best we have had and the tacos were small but unique and delicious. We had a fantastic experience during our recent visit, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing waitress, Hannalise. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel truly welcomed. She was incredibly attentive, seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even asked, and her warm smile made the whole experience even better. Hannalise was on top of her game the entire time -- professional, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic. Her service was so exceptional, it elevated the entire meal. The food itself was great, and because of both the delicious dishes and Hannalise's outstanding service, we ended up staying longer than we planned. It's rare to come across someone who not only does their job well but also makes you feel at home. My girls and I LOVE Bakersfield Indy!!!! It's my favorite place on Mass Ave by far! Super fun atmosphere, great staff, and awesome food & drinks! Sometimes the wait can be lengthy, but every time I've been here, I've managed to find a place at the bar to get a drink at and wait for my table. The service has been amazing every time I've been! I came here this past Saturday with my friends and we had Lexy. She was one of the best servers I've had in a long time!!! She was really fun, treated us like friends (but not in a weird way lol), and was super attentive! She went the distance to make sure we were all having a great experience, and gave us some great drink recommendations. Thank you Lexy!!! Best margaritas in town, hands down, don't argue! The décor is awesome with all the exposed brick and the new patio expansion for the summer! They also serve $2 PBR in a boot glass, come on. How much more awesome do you need? This place is typically packed so don't expect to walk in and get a seat, however, sometimes the wait time the hostess gives you is exaggerated. Last time we were there the hostess told me 2 hours for a seat. I told her to leave our name on the list but that we would just grab a margarita and find some standing room for the time being. We had a table in under 40 minutes. The drinks aren't the only reason to come here, the tacos and fresh guac are also both amazing! It was extremely crowded and full of obnoxious people. It was nearly impossible for the wait staff to do their job, even though they were clearly trying hard. I had the short rib taco, which was tasty except for the dark curly hair I found in it. I asked to speak to the manager about it, and when she came out (I think her name was Trina?), she accused me of planting the hair to "rip them off." She refused to take the taco off of our bill, and even told us we needed to pay and "leave immediately" even though we had food and drinks only half finished. She was, hands down, the rudest and most unprofessional person I've ever encountered in a restaurant environment. I was in town earlier in the week for business and came in for dinner with a couple of associates. I am so glad we did. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Our server had a unique name, I believe it was Hannalise(sp?). Anyway, her recommendations were spot on. The pollo verde and the short rib tacos were delicious. The dips and the empanadas were outstanding. Don't even get me started on the whiskey selection. Anyway, just wanted to give Hannalise a special thank you. Her attentiveness and engaging disposition really gave us a chance to just relax and enjoy our dinner. She was always one step ahead of us. i was in Bakersfield last night and had some of the best tacos offered in indianapolis. The tacos literally melt in your mouth like ice cream sitting on a bench in a warm summer day. My waiter, a tall white male with a beard, i believe his name was Dalton, smelled of lavender and excellent customer service. I intentionally made his job a living hell because he is way better looking than me and i was a little jealous. But after great conversation and hospitality i realized i am a feeble man and that Dalton was just a great person in general. Service was prompt and polite. If I could give 0 stars I would. They told us we could come in with our service animal to the patio but it would be a 45 min wait. When our turn came, we were refused seating after the manager loudly and publicly (not to mention ILLEGALLY) asked us what kind of disability it was for. We had already specified that it was an emotional support animal BEFORE being made to wait 45 minutes. Which they said would be OK. They were rude, ILLEGALLY asked us for disability information, AND wasted an hour which we could have spent at another place. Do NOT waste your time or money in this horrible place that isn't even authentically Mexican. I will be submitting an ADA complaint against this business. read more

I was really craving some tacos and decided to stop into Bakersfield last night (2/17) and I am so glad that I did! The tacos (and sangria) were the reasons that I came but the reason that I will be back is because of BEN!!! He was such a great server from start to finish. He was extremely attentive, making sure that I was all set to enjoy my meal, and not to mention very personable! It is really a joy to dine in an establishment these days but what makes it even better is the fabulous staff that is employed!
