    Good Old Fashion
    Jack M.

I've always had a weak spot for old fashions doughnuts. It's that crunchy texture they always have, and the way they hold up well to dunking in milk and or coffee. I picked up a couple of old fashions here, a chocolate and a plain. I ate them on the spot or in my car with my Americano I picked up down the road. Both doughnuts were great, and offered exactly what I was looking for, flavor and texture. The older gent running the doughnut shop was friendly enough and had a decent sense of humor.

Great donuts, great price ‼ Dream about these donuts; old fashion's just the way I like them, just the same over 25+ years. Great chocolate tops them. Glaze is great every time. Humble place but donut lovers haven.

The doughnuts here are really yummy. This place has been here for years. I love their boston cremes and maple bars!! Its a cute little shop next to popeyes on third and moss st. Cant miss it!! I love their doughnuts they are not expensive at all. About $10 for a dozen and $5 for a half dozen. I personally like the personal owned doughnut shops better idk why. Come check them out im sure they will not let you down :)

The best blended mocha I've ever had =)

Absolutely phenomenal cake, perfectly sweet but not too sweet, incredible texture and incredibly moist but not too wet like some tres leche cakes can be. Very impressed and felt like the price $45 was fair for such a fresh, delicious and big cake. We had half the cake left over from 6 adults and one child. My Dad loved it, thanks for the amazing cake and for being so helpful helping me pick which would be best. All around great experience and I can't wait to try other ones. They have tons of different flavors and if looking for something specific, i was told it's best to order ahead either online or over the phone. Which I'll definitely be doing the snickers tres leche for my Dad next.

They have a big variety of cakes all ready to go in their cake display. I chose the chocobombon since they didn't have any all vanilla cakes and this one had some vanilla in it and my husbands favorite is vanilla. I really liked that they had candles and cake decorations as well in the store and I bought a few Birthday embellishments which were all $1 each, great price! The staff was nice but not too friendly when I was trying to find out more about the cakes and flavors, I had to read the labels since she didn't provide me any details. The cake was just okay, it was very dense and a bit dry. The marshmallow frosting was a little thick and the overall flavors were definitely different but not sure I would get this flavor again. I would like to try a few more flavors and maybe a tres leches cake to see how those are. It is located in Chula Vista in a small shopping center, limited parking available.

I was happy to see they opened a new location in my area. Starbread is a popular Filipino bakery in San Diego known for its signature "Señorita Bread." The bread is soft, buttery, and sweet. I ordered the 35 piece of Señorita Bread for $28. The bread sticks have a sweet filling inside and was a hit at my aunts house!! My freshly made order took about 3 minutes. The bakery was clean and provided great customer service. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

I had tried their bread once before when a friend brought some to me, and I immediately recognized the logo. When we arrived, the bakery was spotless, bright, and welcoming. I couldn't remember what I had liked before, so I started looking through the display case full of donuts and ended up choosing almost every flavor! I also grabbed some of the butter sugar bread displayed near the front. The female employee was so nice and friendly. She asked if I wanted to try one of their most popular items, and that's when I discovered the famous Señorita Bread. It was served warm and tasted absolutely amazing. I loved it so much that I bought a whole box to share with my staff at my restaurant. Everything was delicious, and they were very generous with the fillings in the donuts. This is definitely my new favorite bakery, and I'll be coming back often. Highly recommend!

Known for their fresh, daily-baked pastries, it features a self-service (tray-and-tongs) experience in a clean, welcoming environment! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Always making great recommendations for their customers! Parking can be a bit tricky with very few spaces available. Pricing is somewhat higher than it used to be, but then again so is everything else (like gas, lol). They have a great selection of conchas, polvorones, fresh bolillos, empanadas (chicken, beef, jalapeño cream cheese), and custom cakes! Typically, I get the empanadas de piña 10/10! They're so freaking delicious! They feature a golden, buttery, and flaky crust that shatters perfectly when bitten. Inside, they're filled with a rich, jammy pineapple filling that balances bright, tropical sweetness with a sharp, fruity tartness! Highly recommended!

The moment you walk through the door, the smell of fresh baked pan hits you and it is everything. The selection of pan dulce and bolillos had me feeling like I was back in Mexico City. So many options, beautifully displayed. That part alone almost made the trip worth it. But the customer service... yeah, I'm not the only one who noticed. I asked the lady at the register in Spanish if there was any chocolate pan de muerto and she completely ignored me. Like, didn't even look up. Just called someone from the back in Spanish, which, mija, I understood every word. The girl who came to help me was a little better but not much. She told me the chocolate pan de muerto was sold out, which fine, I get it, it was a holiday. But that's literally all you had to say. No smile, no "sorry we're out," nothing. Just took my money and that was that. The panadería itself deserves five stars. The staff needs some work. I'll probably go back for the pan because it really is that good, but I'm keeping my expectations low on the service side.

Can be a lil salty on the top where the salt is but contrast with parts that dont have it. Egg sando 5/5: yummy and filling, has cucumber and the milk bread is thick and so fluffy! Chicken katsu sando 5/5: my favorite. I love the spicy mustardy sauce not sure if it's in the actual brown katsu sauce or separate mustard. My bf didnt like it but i loved it! I did enjoy the egg one much more as the katsu one had a strong vinegary sauce that was overpowering the whole sando. Service/Ambiance 4/5: There was plenty of seating and the workers were nice. We were really hoping to try the shrimp sando but they were out. Don't think I will be coming back to try it though.
