A little disappointed in the portion sizes. I paid 20$ for a medium and the older lady working was extremely light handed with the toppings. I understand the portion sizes for protein but to skimp on the toppings seems a little greedy. They also charge extra for seaweed salad and avocado which is standard topping anywhere else. It was good but Poktomik is right around the corner and way more generous with the toppings ! read more

I want to start by saying, I'm sure the food here is delicious but my I'm writing this 5 star review based on the customer service alone. I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon at around 3:15pm shortly after I got off work. I stopped by this place because I needed some spicy mayo to put on my lunch that I had prepared. When I walked in I was immediately greeted with a smile and extremely warm welcome from Helen. I asked how much they would charge me for 1 container of spicy mayo and that's when another super friendly face; Annie (I hope I'm spelling that correctly) came out and said that I could just take it free of charge. In my brief interaction with these wonderful ladies at Balboa Poke I discovered that the restaurant is owned by Helen's brother. It was a struggle to open the place at first due to the extreme flooding we had in the valley a while back. But incredibly they have now been open for a whole year. Annie told me that they built Balboa spoke from the ground up (when they bought the space it was only 4 walls!) and I will say that they deserve every bit of success. Don't sleep on this small valley gem! AND Balboa Poke does delivery! Annie told me that if you're within a 3 mile radius of the restaurant and you order online then there's no delivery fee!! How sweet! Again, my review is solely based on customer service and how I felt when I left Balboa Poke. But to be frank the ambiance and vibes in there are both spectacular and I look forward to trying their food in the future. read more

Horrible food. The rice was not brown rice. It was just undercooked white rice or something gross. The portion was fine, but the service was incredibly slow and while I'm not ever going to judge someone for not knowing English, if you work at a restaurant, you should know the foods you serve. And I had to ask for spicy tuna three times before she understood what I was saying. I will never go there again. Do not waste your money. Walk across the parking lot. get yourself an impossible burger at Fatburger if you don't want meat, which is the entire reason why I went to poke instead of getting a burger. read more

I ordered for pickup, one item was completely made incorrectly. And both items were not good. The fish was very fishy and didn't have a good flavor and the rice was very stale. The crispy topics were also not good and stale. Overall bad quality items. read more

Extra portion size for first time customer promotion and she gave us even more than we asked for. Plus, they have so many fish options! I've never seen tobiko as an option. Honest review : Service and ambiance is great clean fresh seafood., the only reason for 4 stars is the price is a bit pricey for the amount of food you get , the seafood scoop is really small but they sometimes till you can get 1 more of the side veggies without charge .. but hey if your on a diet watching out the amount of food you eat this place is for you. read more

I've been here multiple times and the fish here is always fresh. They have so many options I try a new option every time I come and it never disappoints me. The family that works here are extremely sweet and are very patient especially for first timers who have never had poke before. They opened a dining area so now everyone can sit and enjoy there food. I have had lots of Poke before and decided to try this one since it had a 5 star rating, for me this wasn't it the dish was not cold as it should be also the Fish did not seem fresh at it had Blood line in it and looked like Liver it also still had some of the skin attached to it , I'm a fisherman so I know good fresh fish when I see it. As someone who loves poke and has tried many different spots in the SFV, this is now my top poke place and will be coming here a lot!! They had a huge range of protein choices, the person helping me was so kind, and their artwork for the place was so cute (fishes with Christmas hats right now haha). If you like supporting local and family-owned businesses, this is a place for you. I have been twice now, and the poke has been fresh each time. The staff is friendly accommodating to your orders. There is a large dining area if you want to eat in, but I have been taking to go orders for lunch. I am in and out and able to get back to my job in plenty of time.
