Vietnamese food in the Valley can be had, though it can be hard to find a good one. I was interested in giving Pho Hoan My a try, and it was a disappointment to say the least. The staff member at the time thew the menu down at the table after seating me down - a classic experience (heh). I ordered a bun bo xao, and it came out. Overall, the dish was stacked with noodles but fairly plain. An aerial view photo doesn't do it justice, as this bowl was massive. The beef itself was flavored but wasn't too tasty, nothing the fish sauce helped with either. After the meal, I also enjoyed a cup of Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and this stuff was STRONG. I'm no stranger to this drink, but the coffee itself was fairly bitter and concentrated - more than normal. The condensed milk? Almost felt like a quarter can, too! Even after diluting it (through their ice) with half water, it was still too sweet and bitter - do not recommend. Paying was fairly easy, but it was through Zelle or cash - awkward! I m craving for pho and came here to see how is the taste and service from last visit. Well... I was disappointed. I came here on lunch time on Saturday. It should be prime time and should be on their A game. I ordered combination pho and com tam. Pho tasted still good but com tam was not so much. I did not have high expectations for com tam since this is pho restaurant but it still found a way to let me down. It was just a regular rice, overall portion was small. When they give me com tam they didn't bring the fish sauce which is crucial. Nobody was around to check if I got everything. A moment later I had to flag down someone in the back to request it. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. There were only two tables in the whole place and yet they couldn't take care of the customers properly. My overall experience wasn't good. came here because of the high Yelp rating, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. Right when we sat down, I noticed a big black hair trapped between the tablecloth and the glass on the table. That immediately turned me off and made the place feel unclean. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived around 2 PM, yet we waited about 20 minutes for our food. What was even more frustrating was that another customer arrived after us and was served within about five minutes. The food was okay and the portions were generous, but the flavor wasn't anything special and definitely not worth the hype. I also didn't like that they only accept cash or Zelle, which is inconvenient. I paid cash and wasn't even given a receipt, which felt unprofessional. On top of that, my water was never refilled, even though staff walked by our table and refilled another customer's. Overall, between the cleanliness issue, slow service, and lack of professionalism, I wouldn't return. There are definitely better options out there. read more

Hungry, craving pho ...so I Yelped the nearest Vietnamese spot that rated well and decided on ordering from Pho Hoan My. As I ordered via the Yelp app (GrubHub) and wanted my order to be ready at pick up. I arrived in the restaurant and a gentleman came out of the kitchen area to help me. I showed him my receipt of order via Grubhub and he let me know my order wasn't ready. Ten minutes later, my order was ready. As you can see by my pics, shrimp spring rolls (goi con tom thit) $12.98 was like mini-burritos. As these spring rolls are the largest I've ever had and taste pretty decent. Peanut sauce was tasty. I also ordered a rare steak, brisket and meatballs (pho tai chin bo bien) $13.99. Broth is good, tasty and came with all the fixings (sprouts, mint, hoisin sauce, chili paste). LOVED this pho! It's hard for me to Remember all the chicken pho's I have eaten... but this one was really good, top 3! Excellent broth, I think it's beef based bone broth. The food has always been delicious, service is excellent and the staff super friendly and accommodating. Whenever I'm sick, I immediately crave pho. I decided to try this place out and order the rare steak pho and shrimp pho, along with the shrimp spring rolls. This place had a lot of great reviews so I was hopeful, but unfortunately, it just didn't deliver. Everything was packaged well, the herbs seemed fresh, but the bean sprouts did not. The portions were good, and the prices weren't too bad, compared to other restaurants we've tried. The broth smelled promising, but didn't have the best flavor. The shrimp did not seem fresh and felt grainy, almost disintegrating when eaten. I was worried we may end up with food poisoning but luckily we did not. My husband guessed that the shrimp had been perhaps thawed and refrozen again, but we weren't sure. They have a great special offering for Thai tea when you purchase a dish. We went on Monday and we got the special and Thai tea was good. Not too sweet and not too watery.
