Service was very good. Had com Bo luc lac, wife had Pho, jacob had rice with pork and shrimp, Nicole had bun with pork and shrimp. They used nuoc mam in my bo luc lac which was a first for me. Came here with my sister to try their Pho. I usually go to Pho So 1 across the street, but wanted to try the Pho here. I got the beef and my sister the chicken. The beef broth didn't float my boat, the spices was to prominent and strong, it over powered the bowl. My sisters broth on the other hand was fairly delicious. We also got boba the boba was super super chewy like jaw hurting chewy and the drink, milk tea, was overly sweet. On the side I also order a plate of egg rolls, it didn't taste like a thing and for the price not worth it whatsoever. I personally would return for the chicken Pho and possibly to try the bun bo hue but based off this experience I'm not to sure. read more

It's alright. I usually order bun bo hue in any Viet restaurant. The broth was good and the portion and protein was very sizable. My only complaint was the lack of pork blood. The bahn-mi sandwiches make my day better immediately. The pho is very smooth in the broth fresh in the meat. Spring rolls crispy and the sauce compliments it perfectly. I came here once and it wasnt all that. I prefer the vibe and the taste at Pho So 1 across the street! I always get the soup, so i got pretty much the same thing I usually get anywhere. It wasnt great or good at all. I stopped eating it cuz I just wasnt feeling it. The other three people felt the same and we decided to grab the check and leave. Their spring rolls are pretty tasty and some of other rolls are pretty good too. The pho is tasty although it's my opinion that the other place across Sycamore is better. Went here on my lunch break .. pretty crowded but still room to sit. The place was clean and the food was ok.. I went in with a coworker and she ordered a beef pho and I ordered a Chicken pho but when they brought it out he brought out the beef pho for both of us by accident. I asked to return it he said he couldnt that I would need to place another order and pay for the wrong one he brought out. :/ not right! Other than that everything else was ok. I've only been here a few times and every time I always order the V4 BBQ Pork & Egg Rolls. Whenever I go to Pho So 1 across the street I always order the equavalent dish to this and I prefer it at the Bamboo Cafe because the meat is flavored very well here as opposed to Pho So 1. Their Thai tea though is a no go, its crap, I ordered it once and I will never order it again here. I also love that they have their fruit infused water. This is not the only pho spot in Simi but for me it's the best. The ambiance is nice and the food is great. I usually get the Pho3 with brisket, filet, and tendon. The broth is so well balanced it soothes your soul. They consistently provide the freshest herbs and bean sprouts for the Pho. Sorry can't say that about the other spots. I've had the egg/spring rolls and ban mi sandwich which is also good but get the Pho, you won't be sorry. Did I mention this amazing bowl of soup is under $10? Amazing folks! read more

I go to PHO So across to street not because its necessarily better but its a half hour away, I've been going for 3 yrs and I typically don't want to take chances when its a destination. I've been wanting to try Bamboo but needed another reason to be in Simi to try it. I had my reason Saturday! I tried the Bahn mi, grilled pork. It was delicious! The meat was a bit fatty but that should be expected. Bread was fresh, veggies were flavorful/fresh and the service was friendly. I'm used to a $3.50 bahn mi price so the $6.50 price definitely through me off. I'm not saying it wasn't worth it, I'm just saying its not a normal bahn mi price. Got myself a combination pho with a side of spring rolls and vermicelli beef noodles. The fact I am from Orange County Westminster area filled with Vietnamese food on every corner, I have been looking for a place that meets not only my food craving but have a variety of different entries. DELICIOUS! My family comes here at least twice a week. The filet mignon pho is perfect, and my wife loves the vegetarian noodle soup. The barbecue beef spring rolls are the perfect blend of savory and fresh, and shrimp spring rolls are also delicious. The servers are very friendly and they are the ones who recommended the Nagasaki slushee to us, and I am so glad. We get it EVERY time we visit the restaurant now. I love how they pay attention to every detail, and are constantly making sure waters are refilled. ***HAIR & ALUMINUM IN FOOD*** Ordered pho and some spring rolls. The first batch of spring rolls I get have a HUGE black hair in one of them, so I tell the guy and he brings me a new batch. I start eating my soup and then I notice a small piece of aluminum in the noodles (I finish my noodles due to the fact that im still very hungry and i had to send spring rolls back) but I'm annoyed cuz of the hair and then the aluminum piece. So I start eating my second batch of spring rolls and I find ANOTHER piece of hair in one of them. I then go to tell management about what happened & he was not helpful, was getting defensive, and proceeded to justify why the piece of metal and hair were in my food. The Korean BBQ beef was pretty good, I would order it again. Service was no-frills, on par with other Asian restaurants - efficient without being friendly or particularly helpful. This place was great! We were craving banh mi (which is lacking up in Santa Barbara) so we stopped here on our way to LA. Delicious grilled pork banh mi and pork rolls along with vietnamese iced coffee done the right way at the table. Definitely worth the detour through Simi Valley! read more
