    Checkin on yelp!!!!
    Lexi S.

This is a cute little place located right on the street, you can find street parking. Inside there's a couple tables, so it's good for a date? Friends meet or a small group of 4. The workers were lovely over the phone when I called to place my order. I had the pad Thai (gluten free) with beef. I asked for chili sauce on the side to spice it up, and I checked in on help when I got there and received a "free soda or Thai tea voucher" I chose to use the Thai tea! This was soooo sweet and creamy, I ended up adding it to another glass over ice and watered it down. The noodles were a massive portion, it lasted me for another's days lunch! The fish was good, could have used a bit more sauce. I'll be back to try more dishes! They were super quiet when I got there so I hope they do a ton of to go orders. Worth a try fersure!

Had a great time with friends and great food! I ordered the lunch special beef panang curry

Food was great! Lunch special was tasty and filling! Got the beef panang curry. So delicious!

I've driven by this place so many times but I never stopped to eat inside because I thought parking was impossible. I'll usually get it to go but then one day the lady there told me that there's free parking in the back! You're in luck if your favorite Thai dish is chicken pad see ew. It's the best thing they make. The noodles are nicely separated and perfectly chewy. There's a good balance of flavor - not oily, too salty or even too sweet. The Hot Basil chicken aka the chicken kra pow (minced chicken with basil leaves) is my go to but here it's made with chicken breast so it's not as tasty as your traditional kra pow. Still good though especially with a double dose of fried eggs! Make sure you ask for fish sauce on the side with chopped chilies so you can spoon a little on your fried eggs. Super friendly staff. There are a few small tables inside the tiny place. When I had dinner there, no one else dined in. Everyone I saw walking in were picking up to go orders. Kaohorm is one of the better places for Thai along Ventura Blvd. Sit down or take out - either way it's going to be good. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a complimentary soda or Thai iced tea!

Date: September 12, 2023 The little sister was coming over to visit and she wanted Thai food so decided to re-try this establishment. I've been here prior when it was called 'Kao Cafe' and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't good enough to come back again. Since they changed their name, we decided to give it another shot. Called over the phone to order and my sister went to pick it up. 1. Beef pad Thai- little bland but noodles weren't bad. Beef was little chewy. Plentiful amount though. wish they gave limes. 2. Beef pad see ew - this one was actually not bad. Beef was hard but the noodles were cooked nicely and sauced perfectly. Didn't like that there were only a handful of veggies and they were all the hard stem pieces but overall it was good. They have a yelp check in deal for a free soda or Thai tea, however when we asked the lady rudely said 'it's only for dine in' even tho it doesn't state that on the check in. Oh well. It's only a soda, didn't have to be so rude. Glad we got to try it out again. Wouldn't be back unless we had to get somewhere close by. I don't believe there's a parking lot but street parking isn't too bad.

Service was good. She was a bit slow to take our order once we sat down but other that that the experience was great. Payaya salad was good- a little kick but nothing crazy. Never heard of salmon curry so we decided to order and try it out. Was tasty! Sauce either the coconut shrimp was good as well.

Great food. Great service. Very nice. But it's a little hot inside the dining. Only a fan was on while we dined.

Small restaurant but the food was so delicious! Portions were generous and your choice of how spicy you would like. Loved the lunch special with mixed vegetables and white meat chicken in a garlic sauce. Eggplant and chicken was also so yummy! Check in on Yelp for a free Thai ice tea.

Shrimp Spring Rolls consisted of a large handful of lettuce, an erstwhile shred of carrot or two, and perhaps one solitary shrimp, sliced into pieces and buried deep within the greens -- all wrapped in the usual rice paper and served with peanut sauce that was serviceable but far from anything truly tasty. The rolls themselves were pretty much flavorless and unpleasant. Dumplings (offered on a BOGO deal) were clearly of the packaged variety, served 1/2 steamed, the others fried. Again, very little flavor; served with a thicker, sweeter teriyaki style sauce rather than the vinegary dumpling sauce one expects. Chicken Pad Thai was the worst of the lot. Just dry chicken and the rice noodles, bland and pretty terrible. None of the other usual ingredients, and zero flavor. I don't know if the holiday weekend led to the D-Team working the kitchen, or if this is actually the best they can do. Whichever the case, we have no plans to give this another try.

I didn't book far enough out, so I could only get a 5 PM reservation, and the restaurant was already packed when we arrived. Even so, our table was ready and the service was phenomenal. We ordered the papaya salad, crispy garden rolls, panang curry, drunken noodles with shrimp, jasmine rice, sticky rice, and a scallop dish that I cannot remember the name of but was absolutely freaking amazing. The papaya salad was spicier than I usually go for, but it was so delicious that I'm really glad I had it. The crispy garden rolls were good, though they didn't totally blow my mind. What did blow my mind was the curry and the scallop dish. Both were eyes-rolled-back-in-your-head delicious and absolute must orders. There's valet parking in the back plus metered parking along Ventura Blvd, but definitely expect it to be packed. We went on a Tuesday for their TTT (Thai Taco Tuesday) and honestly the tacos were one of the highlights. We got the carnitas tacos which come 2 per order on mini tortillas, but they're packed with filling. The flavors were sooo good..very Thai and Mexican fusion in the best way. Tender meat, cilantro, fresh toppings, and somehow everything worked perfectly together. We also got the shrimp coconut curry tostada which was essentially one crispy tostada topped with shrimp and sauce. SO good. That sauce alone was delicious and I'd definitely recommend trying it. Another standout was the Kauai prawns..4 prawns cooked in this spicy/sweet/savory sauce that was honestly incredible. Absolute favorite and would 100% order again. The drunken noodles were also sooo good and flavorful. The only thing that underwhelmed us a little was their famous Southern Thai fried chicken. Maybe our expectations were too high because it's one of their popular dishes, but it honestly just tasted like regular fried chicken. Not bad at all, just nothing super special to us. It came with crispy rice and dipping sauce on the side. I also really wanted to try the mango sticky rice, but apparently only the chef's mom makes it and if she's not there they don't have it so sadly we missed out. Overall though, we really enjoyed the experience. One thing I thought was cool was the open kitchen..you can see everyone cooking, talking, and having a good time while preparing the food, which added a fun energy to the whole place.
