Just went over there on Monday. My first time at this location, had been to other Bambu but since the other one was closed on Monday, decided to give this location a try. It was easy to find, next to 7-11. Ordered the 3 Bambu Special (#1), and a #10. It took a while to get the drinks, the lady was very apologetic saying they had to make the pandan jelly for my drinks. When I tried the # 1, the pandan jelly just didn't taste right AT ALL!! The consistency was just very tough and chewy, no flavor at all. I had the Bambu Special at other Bambu places and it was really good, that's how I started having my Bambu cravings actually. While I was waiting, a customer ordered a desert too and specifically asked for no pandan jelly, should have known then. The # 10 also had pandan jelly in it so same comment. I will DEFINITELY NOT come back here in the future. They've ruined it for me. Time to get a new craving I guess. read more

The best bambu desserts in San Jose! This one is my favorite location with great service, and for some reason taste better then the other locations. The atmosphere is fun with great music and a occasional good movie. I recommend bambu to everyone! Everything here is fresh and is delicious during this weather. Eh....... I like the location of this a little better than the San Jose location, only because it is closer to me. The service here is extremely slow! I waited for about fifteen minutes for 3 che's. The inside of the store is also very cramped and small... Bambu is part of a chain (there's another one 2 exits away on 680) so its hard to get too excited about their drinks. This place is good. I love the number ten under desserts. It comes with red tapioca, pandan jelly, and grass jelly. We came here at 9 in the morning because the GF is addicted to this stuff. Their service was fast, and the staff was friendly. There was plenty of parking in the lot, but then again we did come here when Bambu was probably the only thing in the plaza that was open that early. Thus far, I always get their #1 and/or the combination dessert. My one complaint however is that they take only CASH. Come on now, I do come in and buy 4-5 desserts. It's not as tasty when there is a 1/5 cup of stuff left at the bottom with no drink to sip with it... there is a bathroom at this location and they take credit cards. I've used both here. Service: it is slower than expected. Probably need to get bigger ice machines and blenders in the back to make the drinks faster. A little, tiny shop in the corner in this Asian strip mall. They are in the process of expanding when I stop in on Sunday night, so maybe a little place to hang out late at night later on. Right now there are about 3 sets of high tables and chairs inside the shop, but extremely compact in that tiny space. When it is warmer outside you'll see a few more sets of tables and chairs out front of the shop. They used to have good nem nuong w/ thit nuong sandwiches too that would always sold out but they kept changing owners I have yet to try any of their food since. Maybe with the newly expansion I'll give them a chance to impress me with other things on the menu beside their desserts. Nice customer service that's a plus. read more

If you`re looking for something lighter, I recommend getting the ones that have grass jelly (or adding it to your drink). Their milk teas and smoothies are just average though. It has been about 5 months since I have stepped in to this tiny little desert shop, having heard that they are now under new management I decided to stop by and get some studying done. and must I say the customer service and ambiance has improved. They no longer run out of supplies and there are no longer tiny bugs flying over your head as you place your order. The cashier also informed me about their new tea line that they have so I decided to try out there #6 peach tea. Place is quaint, i didn't realize it was under new mgmt till today. I got a chance to meet Aaron who works there or owns the place. Great to know that it's still family owned. Before this one opened the closest one to my house was on Hostetter in San Jose. Now there are two within a three minute driving radius of my house. The quality is a lot better than Tapioca Express, Quickly's, and all those other big chains. I probably ordered at least 10 different items so far and they were very enjoyable. The che is good and their smoothies (avocado and Durian) are good. Prices are generally under four dollars for most of their items. My only complaint is that they like to give a cup of ice with some milk tea in it (each time I go there is more and more ice in my drink). I can pretty much finish it in a minute. Also parking can be an issue. Overall it is my favorite place to get boba. I'll try the newly opened one near Lions in a bit. read more

However, my friend lived right down the street from it and we decided to give it another try. Outdoor tables are filthy and the trash lid is stained with syrup. I don't understand why they don't wipe them down. Worst of all, they tried to cheat me. I ordered a smashed avocado with no jellies, and she gave me a cup half-filled with ice! I've been to this place twice before (and all the other Bambu spots I've been to), and they would fill it up well over 3/4 full with smashed avocado. I came back inside to complain. She took my drink to the back "to add more avocado", but I honestly think she only stirred the avocado up to cover the side of the cup and make it seem as if it's filled with more avocado. Very disappointed. I will make the drive to go to the one by Grand Century Mall. They fill their cups all the way up with avocado! Greediness will only hurt your business. If you take care of your patron, they will return and take care of your business.
