Been here numerous times with my friends and co-workers. Bambu makes the best Vietnamese che so refreshing, healthy and gluten free. Amazing drinks and you can adjust sweetness to your desire. My co-workers and I came by this afternoon and traffic was very light and parking was not a problem. I had my co-workers wait outside as I placed their orders. The two ladies working here were very attentive and polite both had their facial masks and following all the protocols. Their menu selection was very simple and direct so my co-workers had the Hazelnut Mocha blended 50% sweetness and the Green lantern made of pandan jelly, yellow mung bean and coconut juice and I had the Bambu favorite made of grass jelly, pandan jelly, red tapioca and coconut milk that was more of my energy booster so refreshing and healthy. All three drinks were $4.75 each very reasonable far cheaper than it's competitors. They do have pandan and smoothies of varies flavors. I ordered #22 coconut Che $5.50 and sure enough my drink tasted like fresh coconut water and had large pieces of young coconut meat. The work it took to open the young coconut and getting the meat out is worth $10. I will definitely come here from now on. I shouldn't add shave ice in my Che though, the sweetness of the coconut water is best left alone. I noticed other toppings were well made as well. The green tapioca strings were slightly warm which meant they're fresh. The lotus seeds were soft and pitted, a smaller variety but better tasting. The drinks look clean and appetizing. Other Bambu locations started out serving fresh ingredients but change over time. This place is still good and I hope they'll stay that way. I probably wouldn't order anything in the fridge. I know they do that to save time but I like my Che toppings scooped in the cup right before serving. The prices are reasonable with drinks starting at $4 something up to $5.50. The waffle is $4, a little overpriced. $3 would be more reasonable. The waffle is missing coconut flakes. If they add the coconut flakes then it's worth $4. read more

I only came here because I was eating close by and wanted my co-worker to try Vietnamese desserts. This is my 2nd time (and last) here and it's both been disappointing both times. I ordered 2 large avocado smash and they filled the shaved ice halfway down my cup. This is ridiculous! My avocado smash was so thick I asked if they can add coconut milk and they charged me an extra .50. So, basically I'm ordering a large drink which is $6.25 and yet it's a small size and I have to pay an additional .50 for coconut milk which they drizzled a little over the ice. Basically, I paid almost $7 for this garbage! They also filled most (75%) my drinks with the boba and jelly. Taste so disgusting! Talk about lame cheap business tactics. I will never come here again. I would drive to further locations if I want some Vietnamese desserts. I have never had any issues in the Hostetter/Lundy location. I'm never giving them my business anytime I'm near the area. I've heard so much of this place that I had to make a stop here. I was on my way home from cousin's house, then I had a craving of a milk tea hit me! Before even leaving my cousin's house, I was already Yelping a place near by. BAMBU was only a couple minutes away. The counter was free from lines, so I was able to order fairly quickly. I ended up ordering a large honey milk tea with grass jelly. I wanted to try something different besides my regular boba. My drink was conjured up within a couple minutes. When I got to my car I took my first sip. The milk tea tasted creamy and smooth. The honey gave the drink the sweetness it needed. Fruit with mixed jelly in refreshing coconut milk. Love this. When I said coconut milk, I don't mean coconut milk from the carton. It's from fresh coconut mixed with milk. Really good milk tea for a really good price. They fill the cups all the way to the top and the boba is really fresh. I had the black milk tea and I asked for half sugar but the guy had said they don't make it too sweet. He was right, the drink was perfectly the right amount of sweetness. Excellent Vietnamese desserts! I love the tricolor che, the amount of coconut they add is perfect! The ice is soft but dense enough where it won't melt if you stir it around. The prices are reasonable for milk tea especially around the Bay Area, but that's probably because Bambu is more known for their dessert drinks. The taro milk tea is alright, it doesn't taste powdery like other places and their honey boba is really soft! The thai tea is more tea than milk, so if you're a fan of that order it but I wasn't too keen on it. The customer service is pretty good. They were really nice when my mom wanted to add some more coconut milk in her dessert. It's a Vietnamese owned store but they speak English fine! I always come here for the che 3 mau, and I'd recommend it for anyone who wants something coconuty and sweet! read more

There are numerous locations in Milpitas and the surrounding areas - I'm sure I tried many - but this is definitely the best. One of my friends in San Jose (over 2 years ago) had mentioned she heard there 's a new dessert place that's receiving good reviews - it was Bambu. The drink is not weak or "thin". It is thick and tasty - not too sweet although the sweetness can be altered. The owner is a gracious host, eloquent and definitely a "people-person". The employees have been polite and efficient. I don't live far from this location but in Milpitas, nothing is far. Boba here is pretty good quality, but the main downside is that they DONT TAKE CARD! Nice balance of flavors and texture - the taro wasn't overwhelming (as it has been for me in drinks past); boba was sweet, soft, and fresh, even though we got it at the end of the day. My girlfriend got the jasmine. She was a little surprised by its appearance as it had a yellow tinge to it, but otherwise thought it was really good.
