Bambu is a favorite for my husband and I. We love the crab cakes and crème brulee (best in town for sure!), and the Korean bbq beef, and spicy fish are excellent as well. The food is OK, though it feels very much like the flavors have been watered down to suit people who wouldn't normally eat cuisines like Thai, etc. The portions could be a little larger as well, at that price point. I arrived on my own with no reservation because I'd heard great things. Two guys ahead of me said I wouldn't be disappointed and they were so right. I'm a pot sticker junkie and their lobster dumplings were among the best I've ever tasted. Way overpriced for mediocre food. You can get much better tai food in town for half the price. The pad tai (made with extra thin noodles?) was flavorless except for being drenched in soy sauce and the tofu was bland and rubbery. I couldn't finish it. After hearing how good this place has been for years my wife and I finally decided to try it. I was thoroughly disappointed. The food was very bland, even though the description sounded delicious. My wife got a chicken saute and there was barely any chicken and was mixed together with the cucumber salad it came with. My friend and I stopped here during a long road trip to California. I am vegan and he is vegetarian, so we were a little afraid we wouldn't find many good options for lunch. However, we stopped at Bambu and were pleasantly surprised. There were a handful of dishes for us to choose from, and the waitress was especially helpful. We ordered a noodle and tofu dish which was perfectly seasoned. We also got a side of rice and a cucumber salad, all for $11. A pretty good deal for all of that great food! read more

While this place may not look like much from the outside, as soon as you walk through the doors you feel like you're suddenly in a 5-star Thai/Asian fusion restaurant that might be found in a much bigger city than Medford, Oregon. I even love sitting on their patio, which, though it looks out on a parking lot and a dentist office, is shaded by trees and canopies to make it feel intimate and exclusive. They gave a great wine selection, and the food is all amazing--to share family style or to order one dish per person. I always order the Tiger Roll which is the perfect combination of crispy, cheesy and sweet. I also love the coconut shrimp and for lunch I love their basic pad Thai. Definitely give this place a try if you love fine dining and live in the Medford area! Don't pass it by just because it's in a strip mall. I promise once you try it it'll become one of your new go-to spots. read more

Favorite place to eat in Medford. I sit at the bar and watch them cook the food. It is a flurry of activity. The Dim Sum plate is my favorite!!!! The steamed bun is the bbq and the rest of it....so good. I can't NOT get it when I come. read more

Bambu has a fantastic menu, good service and good food. The only draw back--it can be crowded, and there's no full bar, only beer and wine. The ambiance is nice and it's a great place to have dinner. I see they have outside dining for the nicer weather, so that may help with the crowding on the inside. read more

Food was excellent! I had the 'Hawaiian' special: Ono fish with mild curry, rice and cucumber salad. The fish was incredible - tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The macadamian nuts and pineapple were subtle flavors that enhanced the curry and fish. The rice was PERFECT! This is rare for a Thai place. The Jasmine rice is usually dry and falls off the fork -it was perfect here! Texture and flavor. read more

The place looks amazing and super classy, and I thought the food would be amazing. To me the food was okay. I ordered the edemame (appetizer), pad Thai and Thai iced tea . The edemame wasn't anything special. I would have liked my pad Thai spiced up but I wasn't given the option to have that, also why is rice served with pad Thai? I didn't particularly like that. Thai iced tea was a down right disappointment, because it was extremely bitter. Thai iced tea is supposed to have a bit of sweetness to it, but mine was extremely bitter. Excellent choice for a great meal! Arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation. Was told there could be up to a 40min wait. Host took our number so he could call us sooner if he had a cancellation. Within 5 minutes we had a call. Once seated our server Diane was there in just moments to serve us with a smile. read more

My daughter left a message in the morning for a 6:30pm reservation...I called the restaurant because she had not received a call back by 4:30pm. Lady on phone checked answering machine, found message and let me know that nobody called to confirm reservation. I loved this place, but didn't feel much like an Asian restaurant besides the food. And am I the only one who feels that it was a little weird going to an apparent Asian restaurant and not see even one pair of chopsticks?? Most Asian restaurants I go to, you almost have no choice but to use chopsticks unless you ask. read more

We had been wanting to go to Bambu for ages and finally got around to going for dinner last night. We shared the dim sum starter. Very bland and disappointing particularly at nearly $12 per dish. My wife had the salmon special as a main, which she said was dry, under seasoned and the flavor of lemon grass overwhelmed every other flavor. She did say the bed of spinach was tasty, but that'd pretty sad for a $30 plate. My fish curry was actually good. All in all, this was an expensive meal for what turned out to be pretty mediocre food. Probably, would not go again. read more

We have been here 3 times. Food is always very tasty and fresh. Each time the service has not been so good, though. We waited a good 45 minutes for our appetizers. I asked server if we could get the main dish without the crushed peanuts on it, because of food allergy, and talked with her about the other items ordered to make sure no peanuts are in them. The food came with peanuts anyway, and the waitress asked me if I had asked for peanuts to be left off...instead of just correcting it, she seemed to be trying to figure out if it was my fault or hers. She had a short memory, and not good service recovery. Food was corrected, without peanuts, and was delicious. Waited around longer than we would expect for the credit card to be returned. We like the food, but the service at Bambu is terrible. We gave it three tries, 6 months apart, and the service just gets worse each time. We will not be back. read more

Being completely honest, Medford is seriously lacking in quality fine dining, especially with regard to Asian influenced food. Bambu has been a steadfast favorite of mine and my wife for a few years now. I've never walked out disappointed. The style of food is Asian Fusion. Don't expect any pink sauce in ketchup bottles or a menu full of deep fried mystery meat with canned sauces, this is real food. They use great ingredients and everything always tastes very fresh. The atmosphere is great if you like New York style dining of a busy dining room with tables pretty close together. Awesome wine selection. We always get a babysitter, not so great for little kids. This is my favorite restaurant in So Oregon. RECOMMEND: Pan Fried Noodles with Prawns, Halibut when they have it on the menu, tiger rolls, calamari and finally the lamb chops. read more
