    Kao Soi Curry Noodle Soup

Glad I decided to give this restaurant a second chance. First experience wasn't great, but the times after were. I usually order green or red curry but was in the mood for something else. The server recommended this soup instead and I'm glad that I gave it a try. It was filled with so many different flavors. It's incredible how they get all those combinations of flavors in one bowl!

I've come here a few times now and it's consistently great. The food is a bit on the sweeter side but they offer spice levels too. The appetizers are easy to share and the entrees are always tasty. I like the curry, pad Thai, fried rice, and their Thai tea is soo yummy! They even have a healthcare discount if it applies to you. I dine in or take out often and the service is always friendly and reliable. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Not fast enough with the photo! My partner was eating as soon as her food hit the table.

We met here for lunch and left with enough for a second meal! This place is a little hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for. There is a private parking lot but we live close enough to walk. Upon entering we were greeted and told we could sit wherever we wanted. The place was nice and clean but not crowded. And after being there for a bit I figured out why - the number of food deliver people was a constant stream. We order and the food came out quickly. The dumplings didn't last long as they were very good. Both of us got more food than we could enjoy in one sitting so we got to-go containers. We were keep with full waters and enough checking without it seeming overwhelming. The waitress was pleasant and friendly. I'd recommend this place but make sure you are either at home or can take a to-go for later. We will be back.

I have never been in person, but have ordered from Uber eats a few times. The food has always been really good and is still warm when we get it. The kao soi it's probably my favorite thing, followed by the pad woon sen.

This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in St. Louis! If I lived a little closer, I'd probably go here every week. I've had the pad Thai and the pad see yu with chicken and tofu and both are so good. Sometimes in pad Thai dishes the meat gets dried out but I've never had that issue here. The service is friendly and inside is a cute cozy environment. The food does well for takeout and I love that they are open late!

Bangkok Cafe, a Thai restaurant, just opened up recently in the CWE. I was excited to try this restaurant hoping that there were more yummy Thai restaurants located in the CWE. I was pleasantly surprised! This restaurant is on the corner of forest park and Taylor and has decent parking. I ordered food for pickup and it was ready fairly quickly. I got the Pad Thai with tofu as my protein, and the Bangkok chicken. The food was still super duper hot when I picked it up! Overall the flavors on both dishes were well balanced. In particular, I was impressed with the Bangkok chicken. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was neither too sweet or too salty. The staff were polite and I would definitely come back to try more of their menu. Overall, I'm very excited that there are more Thai options in the CWE!

Quick and friendly service. Food arrived in less than ten minutes. Chicken satay was well seasoned and grilled perfectly, and accompanying peanut sauce was delicious - order extra. Cucumber salad was also very good. Portion sizes seemed generous and prices lower than most Thai menus. Free parking available provides convenient in and out.

Decided to check out the place since it was new. The restaurant has a simple, but very cute interior and the staff was professional. Looking at the menu there wasn't anything unique that really stuck out to me that I haven't seen at other Thai restaurants. I tried the Sriracha chicken stir fry and it was good.

Exterior very confusing and a little dingy. Paint your door, you're a new restaurant! It looks dirty

I enjoyed the crispy spring rolls and the Massaman curry at this new Thai restaurant in a strip mall on Forest Park in the Central West End. They did a nice job, painting the interior walls and adding new lighting. Unfortunately, the exterior is confusing and dingy. They need to paint the front door. It's gross and it's a new restaurant! It's very confusing walking up to this restaurant. There's a banner out front that doesn't match. Also, I understand they're trying to let people know that they offer discounts for medical professionals and students, but the big sign in the window makes it look like it's not a restaurant. It's huge and the way it was written is confusing and almost like it's a medical office. There is a small parking lot so that's nice.

In terms of takeout food, I thought this place was excellent. Flavors came through and I thought everything was prepared very well. It's a brand new spot with a cozy dine-in interior as well, so definitely worth checking out and picking up food from. Favorite dishes: Duck fried rice, Khao soi

This is a very nice new Thai restaurant. Super friendly staff, very personable owners, delicious and fresh curries and noodle dishes. Reasonable prices. One of the best Thai places in central west end / St. Louis. We'll be back again!

You walk into this older building and it just opens up into this bright, clean, almost energizing space . I went with the Umami Crunch with tofu and... yeah, this is the kind of place that makes you realize how rare a really good salad is. Like, when do you ever eat a salad and think, "the lettuce is incredible"? That happened here. Everything tasted fresh in a way that's hard to explain unless you've had it. And then you find out why--they literally have a hydroponic farm attached. Not just for show either... they do tours, and a lot of what you're eating is coming straight from there. It makes the whole experience feel different in the best way. The portions are huge, super filling, and still somehow feel light and clean. I also grabbed a local blue spirulina kombucha that ended up being one of the best I've had. If you keep wandering toward the back, it turns into this almost maze-like space, and on weekends they do a pop-up called Biscuit Town with breakfast items (including vegan options). It just keeps going. Honestly, I walked in craving a REALLY good salad and left wondering why it's so hard to find places like this. This is one of those spots you go to once and immediately know you'll be back.

It's a cute place, there's street parking available. I decided on the Thai BBQ which is a popular item. I also got the chili crisp cheese bread. My salad was huge and can easily be shared with another person. It was so fresh and delicious. The cheese bread was good, would have been much better if it was served hot and gooey. I'm glad I stopped in and really enjoyed my lunch. Go try it for yourself.

Only one girl was working the floor, she did a great job, but sometimes the wait could be long. Inside is very clean and it was open seating. We got the GF cheesy bread and GF Big Mac pizza. The cheesy bread was our favorite, lots of Parmesan, came out really hot with great flavor. The GF dough was really good, you wouldn't know it was GF unless someone told you! The Big Mac pizza was good but I think pickles should be inside, and just the sauce and sesame seeds sprinkled on top with more cheese. The pickles should also be higher quality (in my opinion) but they're the exact same pickles as McDonald's so they're staying on theme. It was good but wasn't my favorite. We did enjoy it and liked that they are stuffed pizzas so it's very filling.

I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer. The portion size was generous, and they were tasty overall, though they had a tangy seasoning dusted on top that seemed a little odd at first. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. My friend ordered the vegan burger and absolutely loved it. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great atmosphere, though there was an unusual smell indoors, so I was very thankful we were able to grab one of the outdoor tables. Outdoor seating is pretty limited, though, so keep that in mind if you prefer sitting outside.

Well, I no longer live in STL and I am finally checking it out. Now that I have, I am pissed at myself that I didn't try it sooner. I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed a Nova Gyro that was served with a side of fries. For a minimal up-charge, I had them add Feta Cheese to mine. When the Gyro arrived, it was super huge. It was so big, I could hardly pick it up to take a bite. I ended up eating part of it as a salad with a fork until I could finally pick it up and eat it like a true Gyro. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tender. It was smothered in their house made tzatziki sauce and wrapped in a warm Pita. The toppings were plentiful and they were; sliced red onion, shredded crisp lettuce, cucumbers and vine ripe tomatoes. Adding the Feta Cheese, was a wise move. It added, an extra Greek kick to the Gyro. My glass of Pinot Grigio was a perfect accompaniment to my lunch. With it being super huge, I took a third of it home and made a salad out of it for dinner. The only negative, is their take home vessels are styrofoam and not eco-friendly. The service was attentive and friendly. We waited for the waitress to return so we could request a different table, but she never came back, so we moved ourselves to another empty table away from the fan. She seemed unhappy about the move and told us we might have to relocate again because they were expecting a busy day. Honestly, the restaurant was empty, and we would have been finished long before any rush started -- which we were. I asked for ketchup with my burger, and it didn't arrive until after I had already finished eating. Overall, the service was very poor. Unfortunately, the food was also extremely salty -- and we're people who normally enjoy salt. I had the Farmhouse Burger with Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese, while my wife ordered the steak and fries cooked medium well. The steak came out medium rare, and both her fries and my burger and Brussels sprouts were overly salted. The one bright spot was the mac and cheese, which we took to go. My daughter tried some and said it was the best she'd ever had. To top it off, our bill came to an even $100 with tip, and all we had were waters and the items mentioned above. We had been wanting to try Retreat for quite a while, so this experience was very disappointing. Between the poor service and underwhelming food, we probably won't be coming back.
