My husband and I love his place so much! Delicious food with dishes we cannot find anywhere else. My husband loves the duck, and not only is this is one of the few places around that serves duck, but it is excellent! I like the panang curry, and Thai curry is hard to find in Salisbury. I usually get one of the Asian beers also. All the dishes we have had are very beautifully presented with flowers and decoratively cut carrots, etc, the whole place has a very classy feel. Lunch and dinner are slightly different menus; we have had both and enjoyed both. My only suggestions would be to put udon soup on the dinner menu too because it is delicious at lunch, and maybe have a steamed dumpling apprised without shrimp, because I know we love dumplings but cannot get them here because my husband has shellfish allergy. read more

Met my friends Tom and Randy for lunch and had a fabulous time. The restaurant is welcoming and has a memorable decor. It is quite a large, warm space. The menu was exactly what you would expect for a Thai restaurant, except this place offered a lot of sushi options too. I ordered a green curry dish, which was delicious. The rice and the curry were both served on the same plate. Normally, Thai restaurants will serve the rice in a separate bowl. Maybe this was a lunch special and that's why it was served this way. Not sure. Before the meal, they brought a bowl of egg drop soup. I will eat most soups, but egg drop is not one of my favorites. It is just too EGGY and yellow and NOT appetizing to me. It was also the opinion of others at the table. I wish I could have had a serving of TOM YUM instead! The service was good. All in all, another fabulous place for lunch in downtown Salisbury. Food came out so hot I had to let it cook a bit(perfect way to come out in my opinion) the pad Thai was delicious and the coconut ice cream with banana coins was heavenly! I found this little gem while traveling. The menu is quite extensive. They not only carry Thai, but also offer sushi and Pho. I got the Beef and Meatball Pho and some steamed dumplings for appetizer. It was amazing. The flavors just popped all over your taste buds. The only negative was the waitress (a local)who was always somewhere else when anyone needed her. The rest of the staff who were Asian had to step in and take care of the customers. She seemed to have an attitude that she was doing us a favor by even being there. Tip: The entrance is not where you expect it to be. The doors on the corner are locked so you have to enter the buildings foyer to gain admittance to the restaurant. read more

We saw this new place open and walked in. It's on the corner of Innes and Lee streets, opened sometime last week. What a beautiful place and an excellent sushi bar. The sushi rolls we tried were fantastic, fresh and melt in your mouth. Definitly the best that Salisbury has to offer so far. We were given a complimentary bowl of yummy soup as we watched our rolls being prepared, the jasmin tea was wonderful and the sushi chef gave us a complimentary roll. I called on Friday to see if we needed a reservation, they said yes. So I made one for 6:30 for a party of Five. We were sat right away when we arrived and a busboy gave us water, the owner(or manager) took our drink order and when she returned with our drinks she asked if we had any questions. We had a few and she proceeded to explain a lot of the menu to us which was very helpful. After several minutes the waitress came over to take our order, she wasn't very friendly or knowledgable about the menu. She basically just took our order. At our table for appeitzers we ordered the spring rolls, crab rangoons, and dumplings. The crab rangoons were FULL of real crab and very little cream cheese and very crispy. They were delicious, I usually don't like rangoons because they are full of cream cheese and very little crab. I could have eaten these all day. The fresh spring rolls were ok, they said they were vegetables, mint, cilantro and shrimp. There was a small amount of shrimp, no cilantro and no mint... the veggies were mostly a iceberg, cabbage, carrot mix. The dipping sauce with the spring rolls was a peanut sauce and it was delicious. As was the rangoon sauce. The dumplngs were fresh and yummy, the sauce also very good. The entrees we ordered were varied and the portion size was HUGE. Everyone in our party was very happy with there entree, well cooked and very fresh. The rice was awesome. The interior of the place, like others said, is beautiful. The only complaint I really had is we did not recieve a sushi menu but everyone forgot looking at the large main menu. read more

I've tried better Garlic and black pepper chicken for a very cheap buffet. Sesame chicken wasn't as tasty as other restaurants such as Ting hao. I went here for lunch on a Monday with a good friend of mine. We went after the main lunch rush, so things were a little slow on top of being the beginning of the week. I hadn't visited Bangkok since they'd relocated from their previous location on Hwy 29 and had loved them there, so expectations were high. First of all, no kidding, the space is amazingly beautiful. Carved ceilings, great chandeliers, a lovely sushi bar that greets you when you first walk in the door and some Thai wall art. The ambiance alone merits a stop in here, I can imagine it would be fantastic for a date night. We were seated promptly upon coming in the door and had our drink orders taken. The waitress asked very quickly if we were ready to order, but of course we were busy talking. She came back fairly quickly, though. I ordered the pad kee mow chicken and a bowl of tom kha, not realizing the meal came with egg drop....I was relieved when it turned out the waitress had dropped the ball on the tom kha and told her not to worry about it. One soup per meal is definitely enough. The pad kee mao was well flavored, but definitely on the mild side. I asked for some sriracha to spice it up a bit and it was brought it quickly. She also brought a personal carafe of diet coke for me, which I really, really appreciated. I tend to drink a lot with meals and bringing out a carafe just for me won my heart. Apparently, the service has done a lot of improving since previous reviewers' visits. My companion had a hibachi dish and said it was tasty. Apparently, all lunch choices come with a small bowl of cilantro topped egg drop soup and an egg roll on the side. The egg rolls are nothing to write home about, but they're crunchy and taste fine with duck sauce. I prefer summer rolls, myself! While eating there version of Pho which was served with lettuce and very little basil. I found ROACH LARVAE mixed in with the soup. I understand that bugs are served in Asai but not America. .The Bangkok Downtown was really good! There were a few areas where things could have been better, especially the wait staff. There was one lady that took the order, and another that really did the leg work of bringing the food and refilling glasses. The food had large portions of meat and vegetables. We had two curry dishes, and they were amazing. I've only been there once, but others say it is always good and have been several times. Met my girlfriend at the Bangkok Downtown for lunch today because of the good Yelp reviews. Service was slow, as it took about 10 minutes for wait staff to come and take our order and only one other table was occupied. I ordered the pork Sweet and Sour stir fry. The egg flower soup was OK and the egg roll that came with the meal was good. When they brought our meals, my girlfriend got what she ordered, but they brought out a entirely different chicken stir fry to me. When I mentioned I ordered the sweet and sour that was supposed to come with pineapple, onions and green pepper, they took the plate away. They brought a second plate that was chicken, not pork and although it had pineapple, red and green peppers, there were no onions. Also, it had too much sauce on it. Flavor of the sweet and sour was good, but not exceptional. Price for what you got, soup, egg roll and stir fry with steamed rice was reasonable. As we were finishing our meal, the table next to ours, one of the ladies also got the wrong meal. She sent it back and they brought her a second plate that was also wrong so she sent that back as well. By the time we left, she still hadn't gotten her meal. So, be very clear on what you order because it seems the wait staff and/or the cooks don't know their menu. Despite the good price and OK to good food, the slow service and not bringing what you ordered, I don't think we'd try this again. read more
