My husband and I are Thai food aficionados, and we were genuinely impressed. The green curry was hands down the best I've ever had. The orange chicken (today's special) was absolutely perfect. I'll admit, I didn't expect this level of flavor in Virginia Beach, but I was pleasantly surprised. The customer service was warm and attentive, which made the experience even better. I don't know about the other locations, but this one was outstanding.
I come here every time I visit the VA beach area, and let me tell you the food does not disappoint. We always get the beef yum, pad ke mao and fried rice. Food comes out smelling lovely and tasting great. Service is exceptional as I believe it's family owned? Great waitresses who are patient and friendly. Quiet and delightful ambiance of a place to have lunch or dinner! I recommend this place to anyone that's in the area!! Be sure to pull hard on the door when entering.
It's been awhile since I have been here but I met a friend for lunch. We both ordered the same thing. #36 Kao Pad Ru Mit (Combination Fried Rice) which came with Chicken, Shrimp, Beef and Pork. The portion was huge and I took most of it in a To Go Box. We also had a salad with a spring roll. It just wasn't my favorite. I actually found the food to be a bit bland. We had to ask for hot sauce. The shrimp was perfectly cooked though. No dessert menu but they have vegetarian options. There was not many people in the restaurant - even at lunch time. I got the impression that they may be struggling. I just wasn't overly impressed with the food. They were very friendly and I always had water. I hope it was just an off day because I know that I have had better tasting food at this restaurant.
Takeout from Bangkok Garden: Fast service, nice staff. The food was good, kind of ordinary, but very very generous, and they aren't afraid to go spicy! The kao pad puu crab fried jasmine rice was super-loaded with crab, plus nice flavoring from onions, garlic and green onion, and some egg. I got it unspiced, but I'd say at least do the mild spice. The chicken pad thai fried noodles was of course flavored with peanut crumbles and green onion, with crunchy fresh bean sprouts and some egg. It was so good, i couldnt get a clear photo because we were all diving right in :-). We added a veggie noodle dish with chicken, but I forget exactly which one. These last two were a quite zingy "medium" spicy, but we would have been happy with "mild". We added some fried pork wontons and some bright fresh crunchy spring rolls. We loved the sweet peppery dipping sauce! It's a great takeout place to get the flavors you know in generous amounts :-) Just tune the spiciness to your liking.

Wife and I order food here Togo. Ordered combo Thai fried rice, chicken, pork, beef. No shrimp. Wonton Soup. Spring rolls. Mango curry. Thai ice tea. I gave another star because the wonton was good, probably the best thing we ordered out of the order. I was gunna do 2 but decided to do 3 cuz the wonton was the best out of it all. Mango curry was ok. Spring rolls were not good in our opinion. Not the Taste so much but the texture. Well I guess taste too. It just wasn't there. We have had better elsewhere. Thai fried rice was ok. Nothing special. And the Thai tea was way too sweet and off. Had to add water to it and still was not good. I'd say for now, we've tried this place out and that will be our experience for this place and we'd like to keep looking else where for a better Thai restaurant. Service was ok. Not terrible when we went in to pick it up. Restaurant was very decorative. But yeah. We will keep searching for a better Thai restaurant out there.
It has been a good minute since I've been to Bangkok Garden! I used to go to their Loehmann's Plaza location often years ago when we were stationed here the last time. Lots of great memories made there with colleagues during work lunches. That location may have been the only one back in those days. Nice to see that they've expanded and have quite a number of locations all over Coastal Virginia. We happened to be in the Hilltop area and half of my fam wanted Chick Fil A and the other half wanted Thai, so we split up. - TLC - My oldest and I got there right when it opened on Saturday at noon. We were greeted by a nice lady and was told to sit wherever we wanted. She was attentive throughout the entire visit and was very sweet and patient. - Vibe - The interior is decorated with a lot of Thai accents, with dark wood walls and furniture. They've installed a portion of what typical temples and houses look like in Thailand, complemented by Buddha artwork. It took me back to my trips to Thailand when I was a spring chicken. The decor adds to the experience. - Noms - Thai Tea - tasty, but holy geez, this thing is huge, like gas station super size me huge. It's like they give you the refill at the same time, before you ask. I took half of it to go. Seafood tom yum - my only gripe of this entire meal was with this soup. The the scallop did not seem fresh and did not seem to be cooked all the way through. Almost like it was frozen, thawed and thrown into the soup. Had that spongy texture. The broth itself was great and also had shrimp and salmon along with some onions and tomatoes. Beef pad kapau - this is one of my go-to items on the menu. My previous colleague got me on it and I loved it so much, I looked up a recipe and I make it at home from time to time. (It's actually a lot easier to make than I thought). This dish is quite aromatic with the addition of sprigs of Thai basil and the sauce on it is just so tasty. I added some extra eggplant to the dish to get some more veggie ratio. Beef pad seew - I ordered this for my oldest as she loves rice noodles and beef and broccoli which is perfect for her. For both beef dishes though, I found the beef to be a bit tough. The portions are quite generous and I ordered a little too much for myself and my oldest, even though she has quite the appetite. It made great leftovers the next day and we got another meal out of it. Glad to see that they have more locations throughout Coastal VA which makes it more convenient to get our Thai fix! We were craving Thai so we decided to come for lunch! It was pretty busy for lunch time but we were able to walk in and get a table for 10. Most of us ordered the Thai ice tea to start and when it came out, we were surprised at how huge it was. This was definitely a good deal! I couldn't even finish half, it was really good though. We then ordered our meals. I got the papaya salad & beef massaman curry and my husband got the combo pad Thai. We didn't realize that the lunch also came with a small side salad and an egg roll. Both of our dishes were very good. The papaya salad was fresh and seasoned perfectly. It did have a mild kick to it so it wasn't too spicy. We were so full from all that food but we couldn't leave without getting the mango sticky rice and we made the right choice by ordering it. The sticky rice with the mango slices had a nice balance of flavors and kept you wanting more and more. I could eat this dessert everyday!! Our waitress was super friendly and always checking up on us. All of the food was delicious too. This will definitely be our go to Thai restaurant!!

I got a To-go order of chicken fried rice and Pad Ped. The place was quiet and decor looked very nice. They brought my order very quickly. The food was very good. Pad ped was spicy and very good. Fried rice was good but a bit oily. Will definitely be back and love to try other dishes. read more

Was in town for work and stopped here for lunch. I had the sliced beef salad and 1 steamed shrimp roll and also some Jasmine hot tea. Everything was delicious. Servers were friendly and the ambience was peaceful. I'll be back. read more

We arrived and were greeted immediately by a friendly server. It was a Thursday evening and there weren't many patrons. Two servers were working. Its a very casual ambiance. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are well kept. Our food arrived quickly. I loved that our thai teas come in huge glasses because they don't do free refills. It wasn't too sweet either. They'll even give you to go cups if you don't finish. I ordered the pad thai woon sen (bean noodles) with chicken and shrimp. There was plenty of shrimp and chicken in the dishes and portions were huge. My friend enjoyed her red curry- love the subtle coconut flavoring. This place is a little far from me but will be back when in the area again. read more

This is one of my TOPplaces to dine in Hampton Roads. Although there are four (4) locations total in Hampton Roads, the Hilltop location is by far my favorite...followed by the one located in the Salem area. Can we say "PadKaNa Beef!!" This Devine Thai dish is so savory. Y'all, I meant to take a pic, but I honestly was half way through my meal before I remembered (I just couldn't help myself). But, I did manage to get a few other pics for you. The ambience is most relaxing to me. I love the dark wood and golden trinket decorations. I also enjoy the chicken spring rolls and delicious dressing on the salad. What I like most about my Thai food experience is I feel like I am eating healthier. I truly don't eat Chinese food anymore (except for PF Chang's) because I don't view the quality worthy compared to the dishes I receive at Bangkok. I also recommend the Thai tea and crab fried rice! read more

I came here for lunch with my friend. We came here because it we wanted to eat Thai food, and this location had get reviews. I was impressed by the decor of the restaurant. The walls were covered in detailed woodwork. It is really nice. We ordered the Tom Ka soup, Tom Yom soup, papaya salad, and pad won sen with beef. The Tom yom soup could've has more flavor, but everything else was delicious. I will definately come back here again. read more

Came here around their opening time and the staff was on point. We entered the building and were sat to a table that fit our needs. After ordering our food, we had quite a small wait time. Everything was very nice and I would definitely come to eat again. read more

3 stars for good ambiance, friendly staff and good portions. but the two dishes i ordered were not that flavorful. the sauce that came with my fresh rolls didn't taste very peanut buttery at all, it was pretty much just spicy oil sauce. the pad thai noodles were well cooked, there was just zero flavor, and it didn't come with any lime wedges. :( so sadly, I am still in search of a good authentic thai place nearby. read more

I've been here many, many times. Long before I started charting my whereabouts on yelp. These days I always place the same order: Crab Fried rice and sticky rice with mango. The dessert is delectable, sweet, satisfying, and it plain ole makes me happy every time I eat it. The crab fried rice never disappoints although the onions are cut so large, I wish they were a bit smaller. I really do love the crab fried rice it never disappoints and I'm always happy to have it. And I always want it. The rice to crab ratio is usually more than acceptable.The staff are always pleasant. My food is always ready promptly when I call my order in and go to pick it up. In fact once I overestimated how long the order would take to fill and Bangkok Garden called me to make sure I was on my way to pick up my crab fried rice. read more

This spot is awesome. Two days in a row for us. The food is on point and the service is even better!! Got here and enjoy some great Thai food. They do a great job keep everyone Covid safe. Tables are spread out and they use gloves and sanitize the tables after each guest. read more
Well it finally has happened.. My prior review was 3 stars because of one of the meals got changed. I'm glad to state that the Kao pad is back in full swing. With that, and the fact that the service when calling in an order is always fast (10 mins), they always get the order correct, letting me order extra lemons with no additional charge, and the decent pricing I'm raising it to 5 stars. They do have great food at an affordable price. Would recommend to a friend and will be coming back here. Very pleased with them changing the Kao Pad back. read more

Service: Really good, waiter was attentive and quick Food: spring rolls were decent (but not as good as mama's)! I went vegetarian this day, getting the Pad Thai Jay (I always want to pronounce it "jai") The Thai ice tea was perfect this go'round. Not too strong on the anise and balanced with enough ice to dilute the sweetness. But overall, if you've been to one Thai spot in VA they're pretty much the same...rice is rice! read more

Delicious food! I ordered a Pad See Iw with beef and chicken laab. They were both really good. The portion was pretty big. You can choose your spice level but the the food wasn't as spicy as I expected. Don't be afraid to choose a higher spice level. Our server was really nice, and the restaurant was very calm. read more
