In spite of the outlook of the restaurant, the inside wasn't too bad. I went in with my family. I ordered pad thai with tofu. The tofu came out as fried and had a bit hard texture. The person who was serving the water only would just reach for the cup without asking if I want any refill. I am pretty sure he refilled my cup more than ten times during the stay. My wife and I just ate dinner here. The decor was nice and that's all I can say positive for this place. To start with the service was soarly lacking. The food was sub-par at best. My wife had the Som Tum and she makes better at home. She also had the Tom Kha which just ok... I had their Sushi, the Smoked Salmon Nigiri, Spicy Tuna and Spicy Crab. The crab was imitation as far as I could tell. The rice was undercooked and the rolls were the smallest I've ever seen. Our Kroger stores make better here. To sum up, we won't be back. read more

I have eaten at Bangkok Terrace several times because my coworkers like it. The food is actually very good however the service is consistently slow, it doesn't matter if there are only one or two tables full, it can take forever. On a weekday during 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM they should assume that most people are on their lunch break and that they 1 hour for lunch, including drive time. I have had it take 30 - 35 minutes from the order until the food is on the table and this is when there are only 3 or 4 tables seated. All we order is rice and pad thai, nothing complicated. Out of the dozen times I have eaten in there they have made many mistakes on getting the order correct. If you ask for 0 spice sometimes you get 1, 2, 3 or 4. If you ask for 3 sometimes it comes out 0. We are a group and we ask to have the bill split up and they mix up the credit cards or charge the wrong amount, etc... To be fair, when it does come out right it is good food. read more

My hubby and I hadn't been here for a while and it was a Monday night, so our fav was closed. So we visited Bangkok Terrace. We started with some traditional sushi rolls (yellowtail and green onion and a salmon roll) which were good. Served with the usual pickled ginger and wasabi. They did have low sodium soy sauce upon request which was nice. We ordered the green curry and Pad See Ewe for dinner. The green curry was better than what we remembered. You order the spiciness to your liking. The flavor was good, but we prefer the thicker sauce at Mekong Thai. The Pad See Ewe was very good! Nice wide rice noodles with plenty of veggies. Flavorful sauce :o) The woman serving us was friendly and efficient throughout dinner. The tables were clean, and it's in the hood. So we will be back, but Mekong Thai is still our fav Thai restaurant. BUT Bangkok Terrace is byob and Mekong is not....so if you really want to have a beer with your spicy food, that may sway you. read more

I've had the same server many times over months and she acts each time like its her first day. I've been twice now. Nice location although a little small. If you are seated next to kitchen you have clunking and clanking in the background. Food is pretty good. Only 3 stars due to very slow service. One guy, may be the owner, tries to wait on entire restaurant. Drinks and food are slow to come out, and our apps came out with our meals. My friend asked the guy what was good/recommended and he said if you order what they(me) did the food will come out faster. Kinda a awkward reply. We have ordered from Bangkok Terrace 4 times over the past 2 months, as the food is typically very good and came highly recommended. However, 3 out of 4 times we have had to wait 15-20 minutes for our order beyond the quoted time - the restaurant appears understaffed. On Saturday, our food just was not as good. While the food was prepared fresh, the "medium" spice level had no spice, and the brown rice I paid extra for was actually noodles. I paid to add extra vegetables to my meal, but it had the same amount as another meal that did not have "extra." While we would like to continue ordering from Bangkok Terrace, we will be looking for another Thai restaurant that gets our order right (especially when we are paying extra charges) and where the wait to pick up our food is not excessively longer than the quoted pick up time. read more

This is the only Thai food/sushi place I've been to in Cincinnati, and I was pretty impressed. Went there with my fiancée and we ordered chicken Pad Thai, and 4 rolls. The pad Thai was very good, only it wasn't as spicy as I expected - I requested level 3 spicy out of 4, expecting it to be spicy enough but it wasn't really. So if you really like spicy food, I recommend you getting level 4. The noodles were also a lot "wetter" than usual, which I didn't mind. The sushi rolls were also pretty good; we ordered a lot of ones with cream cheese in it, so if you don't like cream cheese definitely don't get it because it tastes pretty strong. The only complaint I have is that the restaurant had a weird smell, not very pleasant. Otherwise it's a good place. read more

I usually like mango and sticky rice, but I did not really enjoy the dessert. The waiter did not take the dessert off my bill although I told him I was not satisfied. Poor service (well, actually NO SERVICE) from Jack B. He took my order and delivered the food. That was it. Jack never came back to check to see if the food was good or whether I needed anything else. Jack never refilled my drink. Jack even short-changed me. THIEF !!! I used to go there often. But, not anymore. The portion of food was small and the quality was fair at best as compared to other Thai restaurants in town. No wonder only one other table had guests. Jack, I won't be back. I just had the Pad Thai myself, because I had only heard about it before. It it AWESOME period. It is $11 normally (includes pork, beef, or chicken), and $13 with added shrimp or squid. I've tried this place twice, once dine in and once carry out. First my poor carry out experience where they were 20 minutes late and they blamed the lunch rush with no discount offered. I believe in second chances, so I tried a dine in meal for dinner. The Pad Thai is like spicy spaghetti, the Penang Curry is watered down, egg rolls were cold, spring rolls were not fresh and came apart. I THINK it was the server's fault as I heard a bell from the kitchen multiple times for our food, which came out piecemeal. As a result, food was not as hot as it could have been. My Pad sea wee had thick stuck together noodles with sauce that tasted just like it had soy sauce on it. The vegetables weren't very fresh tasting. Not good. This place is a local gem. We recently moved into town and have been here three times for dinner. The service has been excellent, and the food is quickly becoming a crave. I look forward to ordering carryout! The spicy level is from one to four. I like spice, order a two and ask for a side of hot sauce in case I want an extra kick. Last night I was in the mood for some sushi and my g/f suggested this place. She did say that she'd heard the service was bad but I said "I don't care, we're getting takeout anyway". So we get there and order. I order the Spicy Combination which states on the menu that it comes with a salad and miso soup. It's at the top in red ink - you can't miss it. At $16 for three rolls, soup and salad I was sold. We wait 10 minutes or so, the order arrives and we leave. So far so good. Get home less than 10 minutes later, open the bags - no soup or salad. So I call the restaurant and let them know that 2/3 of my order is missing. I'm not angry and have no intention of going there to pick up again but they should know their mistakes so as to improve. The phone gets answered and I explain the situation. The girl says "That's only for dine-in, not for take out." I say "That's not what the menu says. It explicitly says that all dinners come with miso soup and salad" - it's right there on the menu." She says she told me, which she didn't, and says "Someone here just said they heard me tell you" - so now I'm a liar and someone with superhuman hearing is a witness! In fact what I did ask her was whether the salad that came with the dinner was the same as the salad on the appetizer menu and she said that it wasn't So I say "OK, there's obviously some confusion. Would you be so kind as to credit my card back $5?". She says she told me it didn't come with soup and salad. I ask her why is it on the menu then? She says she told me. "It would be a very nice gesture for you to credit me back a few dollars and you'd be displaying excellent customer service too" "I told you it was for dine-in only" So why is that not on the menu? She did not say anything about it and she's lying. So the whole thing is getting old, there was no apology for the (and I'm being generous here) 'misunderstanding' and the customer is clearly wrong in their eyes. I ask her "So why would I order a dinner combination where I have no choice of rolls when I could order what I wanted for the same money from the rolls menu? The miso and the salad that comes in the price is why I ordered that." Click... Food Review: Rolls in the Spicy Combination platter (tuna, crab and shrimp) are indistinguishable from one another. It should be called the Spicy Goo Combination. And they aren't very spicy, Spring rolls are large, bland, and the vegetables are cut too large so it appears lazy. My g/f had some form of Thai curry. She loves Thai food and said is was just OK. This place will never see another dollar from me. I would surely have gone back had they provided any form of customer service as even though the food isn't great the prices aren't bad. An apology would have been fine. read more

Super-secret, awesome item NOT on the menu: chicken kow soy. You can order this at lunch. This is a great soup with a high-end feel of coconut broth and ramen noodles. I enjoy Thai food and this is a great spot in the Blue Ash area. Crab rangoons are good and so is the sushi. I only knock it a star because every time I visit they forget something we ordered. The menu described it as chicken and shrimp mango curry. There was all of 4 pieces of shrimp and less than a fourth of a small chicken breast of chicken.
