We've ordered many times over the years from this Chinese restaurant . Tonight we ordered Won Ton soup which was delicious. Steamed pork dumplings were lovely too. My entree was shrimp lo mien and it was very good. So you ask, why the three stars? The picture below is the General Tso's chicken. The batter was so thick and chewy you could barely see or taste any chicken. It seems as if the chef cut up teeny tiny pieces of (hopefully) chicken and triple rolled them in a batter that was almost inedible . If I could give 0 stars, I would. We recently ordered food here, Chinese staples such as General Tso, Beef teriyaki, and soup. The bill was $60 and it was absolutely disgusting. The General Tso was so inedible we threw it out. It was nothing but deep fried dough in an awful sauce. The beef teriyaki was more edible but had this slimy texture to it. The soup was disgusting as well. We also ordered some chicken fried rice and it was odd that the rice was a yellow rice, like a Spanish rice. This and the side of steamed white rice were the only good things out of the order. It's a shame because we've eaten inside pre-Covid and the food was good. The quality of food here is seriously lacking. Ordered roast pork fried rice and paid for additional pork which seemed to be missing from the dish as was any seasoning. The rice was extremely greasy and lacked any taste. The other dish (sweet and sour chicken) was over cooked to the point where it was crunchy and again, lacked any taste. We did take out from this place and they are one of the best chinese restaurants in Slower Lower! The general tso chicken had a great taste, still crispy.. the peppered chicken had a bunch of taste and flavors that kept you wanting more, and the the spare ribs were glazed and sweet with some tang to them. So delicious! Their eggrolls also have a great, crunchy and crispy flavor! I am giving a 4 stars just because it wasn't the absolute best chinese I've had. The food quality of our lunch specials ( house lo mein . And General Tso's chicken) was very good. However the trays were overwhelmed by rice and egg rolls were extra. Value wise this was disappointing! Egg rolls were good though. I gave them only 4 stars because I am annoyed about the service charge. I ordered online which is a convenience to them ( as opposed to a phone call). The app solicited tips for take out - which I always do but to sting w an unclear extra service charge irked me. Wowie!!!! Excellent!!! As someone who used to live in Chinatown in NYC now has parents that live in Delaware, I've always been skeptical of getting Chinese food outside of the metro area. That being said, Taste Garden came as a recommendation and it was delicious! Between the amount of food for the price, the quality of the food, and the speed of pick up are huge thumbs up from me! Pictured was the General Tso's shrimp with fried rice, which was yummy and had lots of brocolis. I also enjoy the hot and sour soup, shrimp toast, an egg roll and some pork lo mein. Nothing was over salty and they gave lots of sauces to amplify the dishes. Plenty of left overs and plenty of smiles all around. Will be ordering from here again as it received rave reviews from my family, who tends to be a bit picky when ordering out! read more

I rating this place for what it is. . . This overall is your standard solid Chinese takeout joint in a small town with limited options - read it as that. I tend to stay away from the noodle dishes because in my experience they've either been too dry or too greasy. The sushi is surprisingly delightful as is the service. The menu is vast as well so you really have a lot of options. They also have great lunch specials that my husband and I grab frequently. As far as I'm concerned it's the best Chinese option in a 15 mile radius. Quick tip: When placing an order on the phone have them repeat it several times. On more than one occasion I've ordered wonton soup only to arrive to pick up udon soup or something of the sort. Also P.S., avoid that udon soup! read more

This is our new favorite place for sushi and Chinese. It's close to home, convenient, and reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the sushi actually was!! Plus, they don't have just sushi but regular Chinese dishes also that were way better than the normal takeout places around. If you like avocados, you have got to try the avocado salad!! Tastegarden overall as my restaurant of choice this kind of restaurant. There's not a lot to choose from around us. Most of their food is good quality. The problem I have is their consistency. Or lack there of. You never know what you're going to get. One day the rice will be great the next time I get it the rice is terrible the same for their fried wontons the same for their dumplings. This is usually our go to place for Chinese. Tonight, it was absolutely awful. Chicken wings were over cooked, bordering on burnt. The two main dishes were almost absent of the chosen meats and vegetables - a very poor count. The wontons were almost inedible. There were no condiments in the bag which just shows how unorganized they seemed to be. The cooks need to be trained and some oversight to the food they send out is a must. Ok, this was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered hot sour soup which was cold and had rice noodles in it? Ordered fried rice and asked for spicy with cashew nuts, no flavor, no cashews which I paid extra for. Had lots of water chestnuts though! Had to pay for the crispy noodles and they were so stale they were inedible. Wife ordered shrimp lo-mein again spicy with cashews, surprise, no flavor no cashews. Originally we were very happy to find this place. Food was very good. More recently though it is severely lacking. Food has lost its flavor and any zing.
