First time visiting this store instead of the one in Rosemead. I didn't know it was a much smaller restaurant with extremely limited parking space and less items on their menu too! Service was not much faster and the baguette was much smaller in size. Even the meat and vegetables on their sandwich had smaller portions. They didn't even bother serving the sandwich with cilantro at all. I'm never coming back here again. The ambiance was bad and so cramped inside.

Still the best bang for your buck no nonsense Vietnamese cuisine in the SGV! Always consistent with taste and quality of good fast food. This is the original and my local neighborhood BMC and I will always be a loyal customer until the end of time.

I have been coming to this place for years and I really enjoy it. My favorite is the teriyaki sandwich since it's a classic and good flavor every time. I recently tried the spicy wonton (new item) for the first time today and I was unfortunately disappointed by the taste. Doesn't taste like restaurant made, missed the mark a bit for me. The service is okay too, they're fast at taking orders. Casual place where you can take your food to go or dine in.

Our #1 spot for Pho. Our fave is the chicken pho. You order, they seat you and your meal is served in a flash. They have a very simple menu. Our go to's are the chicken pho, eggroll lettuce wraps, shrimp only egg rolls not fried, milk tea Boba buy one get one, unsweetened tea x2 for 99 cents each. Their pork chops and rice are delicious as well. We prefer to eat in but will order to go if needed. They have easy street and private lot parking. Hours are good... if trying to call in good luck they are always busy.

A good deal is hard to beat and Banh Mi Che Cali is serving up great deals. Not only do they advertise BOGO free milk tea on the outside of the building, they also offer a Buy 2 get 1 free banh mi. If we need a quick meal on the way to Dodgers Stadium or a long drive, we swoop in and take advantage. Where else can you get 2 milk teas and 2 banh mi for under $20.00? I'll tell you...no where. The sweetest ladies working behind the register. Plenty of already prepared meals and sides available to grab. So far we've been in a hurry and taking our meals to go. I do plan on making time to dine in and try their pho one day soon. Smells amazing when it's being served piping hot to a someone while I am waiting in line. * Plenty of parking in the attached lot * Cannot place a phone order ahead of time so there might be a wait on busy days

This place, in my opinion, used to be around 4 stars rating because of its return on investment which is a bit higher than one may imagined. That is, high on quality and quantity, but a bit lagging in amenities and decor. We went there for boba milk tea. Boba milk tea options were limited to six choices. But it was the BOGO free option that would make it more attractive for most customers including myself to order the boba tea. Although bang mi has 2-order-for-1 free option available, we didn't order any banh mi here. Catering order also was not so bad; see the menu in enclosed pictures. Enjoy boba milk tea!

Essentially a Vietnamese fast food with a wide range of staples like banh mi sandwiches, curry, stews, pho, desserts, drinks, etc. For the most part, there are many grab n go items at a good price while other items require cooking time. There is also an ongoing daily special. This location is large with seating and decent parking.

I wanted to try a new place for banh mi and I saw this place nearby and decided to give it a try. I doordashed banh mis in bbq pork, ham & meatloaf and bbq chicken. Also did an order of shrimp spring rolls. The shrimp spring rolls were beautifully packaged and wrapped. Very generous on the peanut dipping sauce. Their version is not your typical spring roll. There is no vermicelli. The lettuce leaves are not whole and chopped up. The rice paper is very soft and delicate where even when I was gently pulling the rolls apart, it would break. The meat in the banh mi were seasoned and cooked perfectly. One thing that would make these sandwiches better is that I wish there were more carrots and daikon to make it more filling. Upon opening my sandwiches the veggies and herbs were very lacking.

Great spot for breakfast - they are open earlier then the nearby bahn mi places! Got the combo and 5 eggrolls the egg rolls were very good and so was the bahn mi except the day I visited they didn't add cilantro. Or is this typical of this place? Nonetheless, I am a fan of cilantro so I was a bit bummed my sando didn't come with it. The service was fast and friendly ambiance that of an asian café and it was very clean inside for being open at 7am they have a ton of workers! Smell of fresh baguettes when you walk in! I should've read the sign bogo on milk tea! Will come back for that next time

My go-to spot when I need a pho and banh mi boost! I first had them delivered when I was super sick with COVID several years ago and have since done pick-up, too. I've never eaten on location but they have a decent sized parking lot. The Rare Steak and Well Done Brisket Pho is so good and always high quality meat. I looooove their BBQ Pork Banh Mi ~ a lot of Vietnamese places in the SGV don't offer Banh Mi, so Banh Mi Che Cali hits all the marks for me! Plus their packaging for car travel is super secure and I've never had anything spill in transit.

I called in last minute and they were still able to prepare a party tray of egg rolls for me. They were super fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be ordering egg rolls from here again.

private parking lot, cozy little restaurant. has indoor seating for dine in, grab and go dishes, and a cashier where you can order made to order banh mi sandwiches!!! service is fast & pleasant. definitely not the most classy place, but that's just an indicator that you're about to eat amazing authentic food! most of their banh mi's are $7.50 & buy 2/get 1 free. what a steal! if you want authentic viet food, visit banh mi che cali, one of sgv's most iconic chains

Do you cater egg rolls and Chè Bánh Lọt?

Hi there, Yes, we do cater egg rolls! About the chè bánh lọt, we’re no longer carry at our location…

Do they have a working phone?

Yes, but it's not a priority for them to answer the phone. It usually rings foreverrrr and ends with a fax machine sound. It feels like a WIN when they answer the phone. Sometimes I give up and call the other locations. lol

Is the vegetarian ham banh mi also vegan?

The ham is lacto vegetaran, not strictly vegan.

Where can I order ur food for delivery if I live 30 miles away? Is there an app I can pick up food if You don't deliver?

Pick up order available on Door Dash.

If I want to make a large (80-100 item order) to be picked up in the morning should i order ahead of time, and if so, how?

Yes, I believe so. I'd go the day before in person. I've seen people make large orders on the spot (20 sandwiches) and they've accommodated but it takes a while.

What is their Egg Rolls made out of? Does it have pork in it?

Yes they are pork egg rolls.

Hidden Gem in Alhambra - Finally Tried It After 4 Years of Driving By!…read more I've lived in Alhambra for the last 4 years and drove past this place almost every day, always assuming it was just another hot pot spot. It never looked super busy, so I kept putting it off. Big mistake--don't let that happen to you like it did to me! We finally went in and ordered a bunch: the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, Rattan Pepper Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Popcorn Chicken, Sesame Balls, Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake, Fried Milk Rolls, and Fried Taro Balls. Everything was outstanding. The noodles were amazing--fresh, chewy, with high-quality ingredients you can really taste in every bite. The broths had that perfect spicy kick without being overwhelming, and the beef was super tender. My wife and I couldn't stop eating; literally everything we tried was delicious. She especially loved the Fried Taro Balls--they were crispy outside, soft and flavorful inside. The sides/snacks were all hits too: the Popcorn Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the Sesame Balls and Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake brought great texture and sweetness, and the Fried Milk Rolls were a fun surprise. Service was top-notch--shoutout to Icey, who took such great care of us. One of the best and most attentive experiences we've had in a while. If you're in Alhambra and love good food, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't go wrong here--highly recommend! 5 stars all the way.

I went with the tomato and sliced beef for $14.99. This came with bean sprouts, which I wasn't aware of, and there was a lot of bean sprouts inside - almost as much as there was rice noodle. Not a fan of bean sprouts but will eat if I need to, but in this case - it totally overwhelmed the dish. There also wasn't enough rice noodle for me. Everything else was good, but that kinda blew it for me. Also got the spicy soup with beef and tomatoes. This is more of a gentle burn in spice they slowly works its way up. It's good if you like spice. Restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but got a good amount of customers by the time we were leaving. Workers are friendly. Not sure if I'd be back though. On a Saturday evening, my husband and I decided to grab dinner here. Because we parked in the shared parking lot, we entered the restaurant through the back. We were immediately greeted upon entering. After being seated and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Fish Tofu Congee, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal truly nourished my soul because I was really sick a few days before and hardly ate anything. The congee was nice and hot and thick, just the way I like it. Portion wise, this is perfect for 2- 3 people to share. But again because I had not eaten much for the last few days, I ended up eating most of it (lol, had not realized how hungry I was until I was eating this). My husband did enjoy this congee too. Beef Stew Noodle Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and thought the soup was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I also liked this dish and thought it was delicious. My husband finished most of this dish. ------------------------------ (Total= $28.10 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly. And because the restaurant is on the small side, it was very easy to get a server's attention if you needed something. Although I did speak mostly Cantonese when I was here (I am actually trying to make myself speak Cantonese more), you can order in English. So you shouldn't have any trouble when you dine here. Overall, coming to The Congee was the right choice for dinner and so glad we did. I do see myself coming back here for another meal in the near future. Please note that there is a unisex restaurant towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the back entrance/ exit. The restroom itself had all the basic essentials (running water, toilet paper, paper towels and soap) but wasn't the cleanest. It was decent at best.

Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this…read moresmall chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

The quality was solid, and everything came out hot. The chicken wings were great, the garlic green beans and cucumber salad were amazing, and the signature spicy ramen was really good too. It was a bit greasy, almost like birria, but the meat was tender and the broth tasted like it had been cooking for 48 hours deep, rich, and full of flavor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.
