Oh wow. Today's lunch was a step back into the COVID days. We came here several years ago, when they set up tables in the parking lot and we ordered at a table that blocked their front door. The food was comforting then and still is. Today we had: *Shrimp Spring rolls (tender and delicious shrimp) *(Vegan) Mushroom and Tofu Spring rolls (So freaking good) *Filet mignon cubes with garlic noodles and salad (holy cow. I could really hurt myself with this dish. I rarely eat meat but couldn't resist when I smelled the dish. That beef was like BUTTUH! Melt in your mouth tender and juicy and seasoned so well it didn't need any extra sauces. *Thai Iced Tea, which comes in a nice tall cup. Priced right and great flavor. I was craving a hot soup after studying all day and I found this lil gem near USC HSC. It's in Alhambra so there's ample parking. I ordered the pho with rare steak and added meatballs. The soup was piping hot (which I love). It was very flavorful yet clean and packeddd with protein. The rare steak was tender AF! The summer roll was a spring roll with a pork patty and a crispy egg roll wrapper inside. It was sooo yummy and refreshing. They have the fish sauce concoction that is so well known in Vietnamese cuisine on the table and it was the perfect dip for the roll. You can tell they use high quality, fresh ingredients. My daughter yelp this spot and picked our lunch date on a rainy day. Which was the perfect time to get pho. Her go to is the rare steak and my son and I got tofu with mushrooms. My son suggested we order some popcorn shrimp and my daughter suggested the shrimp fried rice. Both were delicious. The pho came with eye round wagyu steak. It was mostly lean with some fatty parts. The short rib was tender but didn't fall off the bone very easily. I noticed that I finished the noodles rather quickly, but there was plenty of meat. My order came out quickly, and my server checked in on me a few times and refilled water. But my spouse and I found the broth to be somewhat lacking in flavor. The noodles in both of our bowls were in one big clump at the bottom of the soup and we had to work to separate them. We got the pha with brisket and wagyu and the cuts of meat were simply not good. They were fatty, gristly, and cut into odd chunks. I ended up fishing the meat out of mine, eating just the noodles and some of the broth. All in all, we were glad we tried a new place. The plate comes with fish sauce and it has four huge lettuce and little vermicelli and pickled carrots/radishes to make a wrap. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and always recommended it to friends because it used to be my favorite pho spot...after my visit today, I don't think I'll be coming back. While eating, I found something in my broth that looked like a larva or worm, which was extremely concerning and hard to ignore. The waiter who first helped us was very kind and welcoming gentleman who was all by himself on the floor, but when we showed another staff member (the cashier) what was in the bowl, she dismissed it completely, saying she "didn't see anything" with an attitude, and offered no apology -- just 10% off the bill. The lack of accountability and professionalism made the situation even worse. I left feeling disgusted not only by what I found in my food, but also by the way it was handled. We used to come here all the time when we stopped by Costco as our weekly ritual for pho. The last time we came on a Monday. It didn't seem that busy as there were at least 5 open tables. It took a while for us to get seated. Two servers were in the front. We waited at least 10 minutes for a server to take our order to take our order nobody came. We waited for about 10 minutes on Sunday at 1 p.m. It was crowded and smaller compared to their other location. My mom ordered #41 eggroll with BBQ bun noodles (rice vermicelli noodles) and I ordered #51 egg loaf with BBQ pork rice plate. Their BBQ pork was marinated well and they were flavorful and tender. However, the egg roll was chewy and not crunchy this time. The egg loaf was mushy and it could be more flavorful. The rice was good. Service was okay and the price was fair. However, I've had a better bun noodles and rice plate in SGV. I would give them 3.5 stars at this location. read more

I recently visited Pho n Mor in Alhambra right next to Panera Bread and Mc. Donald's and it was the perfect place to eat some nice hot Pho during a pretty chilly weather. The area is actually quite nice with other places retailers next door and eateries. But I chose this place because of the Hot Soup with noodles. I ordered the #28 Pho w/ BBQ on the side and it was just so out of this world when the noodles and bbq touched my palette. The service was quite efficient and quick and the staffs were very friendly and welcoming to their customers entering and leaving the restaurant. My daughter's professor invited everyone to lunch and she found this place since it was close to her school. This place is small but quaint and well lit. There's plenty of parking to the right of the restaurant with two levels. We had to wait to go in but there were chairs outside and the wait wasn't long. I appreciated the thin pieces of tripe, which were easier to eat. The tendon was also good. My favorite component had to be the noodle, since it was very chewy. The portion was also massive. I had enough leftovers to make a second bowl of soup at home! Finally, I tried a bite of my bf's BBQ beef broken rice with egg rolls. I come here every time I'm in the area and it never disappoints. The food is consistently phenomenal and everything is so fresh and flavorful. They have a great variety of options and every dish I've tried has been delicious. The prices are also really reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.
