    Summer roll
    Mayra F.

I was craving a hot soup after studying all day and I found this lil gem near USC HSC. It's in Alhambra so there's ample parking. I ordered the pho with rare steak and added meatballs. The soup was piping hot (which I love). It was very flavorful yet clean and packeddd with protein. The rare steak was tender AF! The summer roll was a spring roll with a pork patty and a crispy egg roll wrapper inside. It was sooo yummy and refreshing. They have the fish sauce concoction that is so well known in Vietnamese cuisine on the table and it was the perfect dip for the roll. You can tell they use high quality, fresh ingredients. Everything was delicious, I will def be back! Oh! I forgot to mention that they were also playing the Argentina-Egypt match and everyone was into it hehe it was a cute ambiance.

Super quick service, even with a crowd. Very good pho and rolls. Simple table set up, but quality food and pretty cheap too.

My daughter yelp this spot and picked our lunch date on a rainy day. Which was the perfect time to get pho. Her go to is the rare steak and my son and I got tofu with mushrooms. My son suggested we order some popcorn shrimp and my daughter suggested the shrimp fried rice. Both were delicious. Parking was tight and we went around 1pm and had to wait outside for a bit after we put our names down. It was fast service after being seated. Their Thai tea was also a good pick. I definitely recommend the popcorn shrimp.

I came back after two years because I missed the place. I ordered the pho dac biet like I usually do. I was enjoying my pho until I found a strand of hair on a piece of meat. The server apologized and did not charge me for my meal. The server brought me another bowl of pho dac biet but my appetite diminished after seeing the hair in my food.

It was okay for me, fast service. Had Vietnamese smoothie, I enjoyed a lot it wasn't too sweet. The soup (47) itself was 5/10. Had the shrimp fried rice, that I devoured. Maybe I wasn't in the mood I will go back to try again. Ambience was as calm as it can get.

Phở tái with one short rib and a garnish plate
    Jeremy S.

I decided to try this pho restaurant as I was in the area, and there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered phở tái ($13.50) with one short rib ($3.50). The pho came with eye round wagyu steak. It was mostly lean with some fatty parts. The short rib was tender but didn't fall off the bone very easily. I noticed that I finished the noodles rather quickly, but there was plenty of meat. My order came out quickly, and my server checked in on me a few times and refilled water. There's covered parking nearby and many vacant tables available when I went. The ambience was a little quiet with pop music playing in the background.

I'm sad it's taken me this long to write them a review but I'm a regular! Their fried eggrolls are my go-to. (A+++) They use the paper-thin skin that make the rolls crunch loud in your mouth. I also love the Cajun garlic shrimp noodles (A+) which are quite savory and addicting. I usually add raw garlic to it 'cuz I'm a garlic fanatic. Plenty of parking in the plaza shared with Panera and Sunright Tea. I've never ate inside only to pickup because I'm quite claustrophobic. It's small inside and it's always bumpin' but service seems to be on point because I always get my order on time and correct.

8/31/2025 - This is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Alhambra. The PHO SHORT RIB is very good with delicious beef broth. There is a free parking space in front of the restaurant. If it is full, you can park at the next big parking lot for free. There is no WiFi access available inside the restaurant.

#22- Waygu beef and tendons pho
    Grace L.

This is a great spot for pho, especially after a Costco run. There's usually no wait, and the servers are quick and attentive. Today, I ordered #22 -- wagyu beef with soft tendons. The tendons were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the broth was rich, flavorful, and comforting. I can't say for sure if the beef was truly wagyu, but it was sliced thin and pleasantly easy to chew. Overall, I left happy and satisfied, and I'd definitely come back for another bowl soon.

No wait today but I've seen people wait for this spot! I came straight from the airport and parking was easy. I got the pho with rare steak and brisket and shrimp spring rolls and my boyfriend is vegan, so he got the vegan spring rolls and vegan pho. Everything was really tasty and fresh. Service was good and everything looked clean. Definitely will come back!

Everything tasted good ! Bun vermicelli noodles with beef- comes with pickles carrots and daikon, mint, bean sprouts, peanuts, with fish sauce. Beef was flavored and not dry, yums! Pho Tai Nam- eye round wagyu and brisket pho broth was very good, they provided a bunch of tender meat Spring rolls- fresh and glad it provided enough peanut sauce for dipping I'd come again to try the other dishes!

Perfect pho for a cold rainy day! They do get busy during lunch time so plan accordingly because you may need to wait a bit to be seated. Service is super quick! I was happy with the portion size I couldn't even finish I had to take it to go. I really enjoyed the house special pho I would definitely want to try more menu items. The flavor was delicious and the meat was tender too.

    Natalie D.

Went to try this place during the rainy weekend and it was a perfect experience. Got sat right away and the workers were really attentive. The shop was tiny but very well decorated and overall a homey vibe. It was pretty busy for being rainy outside. We ordered their most popular pho and it did not disappoint at all! Also provided a bowl with toppings you could add and sauces to customize your pho. The broth was so savory , perfect temperature and very filled. The beef was very tender and there was a lot of it so it was great proportion to the noodles and broth. Overall I really loved it and this will def be my go to pho place in the Eastside!

It comes with chilies and fish sauce for you to pour on top. The rice cakes are served warm and are super smooth and soft. The thai chilies it comes with are spicy so don't use too much. The vermicelli with nem nuong and egg rolls comes with a slab of meat and a whole egg roll. The bottom are the noodles and mix of veggie and herbs. The nem nuong is sweetened charbroiled pork that is grilled. Think of a sweet meat ball. The egg rolls are super crispy and filled with meat. The noodles go well with the fish sauce and there are a lot of veggies inside. The nem nuong coun is a spring roll that's wrapped in rice paper. It has the meat and lettuce wrapped inside and comes with a dipping sauce. I believe the sauce is made with ground shrimp. For $8 for 3 rolls it is a steal compared to other restaurants. If you are craving Brodards in OC this place can satisfy your craving. Their che ba mau which is a 3 bean dessert has a lot of beans inside topped with coconut milk and shaved ice. Not much mung bean either after stirring it literally for about 4 seconds the mung bean basically disintegrated into the liquid. The liquid.. watered down skim milk, not a trace of coconut flavor anywhere. I didn't know you can mess up Che Ba Mau until I had it from here.

Inside was pretty small but they offer inside and outside seating. Menu had a good variety of dishes and prices were reasonably priced. Got the Special Beef Combo Noodle ($14.50) and it consisted of eye round steak, well done flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef ball. The broth tasted very light and not too greasy or salty so that was enjoyable. The quality of the meat was very dry and wasn't tender so that was very disappointing. The portion of meat and noodles given wasn't plentiful so that was a bummer. The basil, bean sprouts, and lemon were decent and so were the complimentary sauces. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the pho and even though it was reasonably priced, it didn't seem to be worth the price since the pho tasted very underwhelming.

When we visited this weekend, there was a table with 3 ladies speaking quite loudly and proudly that they were influencers. They had ordered a huge spread across two tables for 3. Needless to say, there were a lot of take out boxes. I don't care for the social media hype. I care about the food and service. Service today was fine. There were several staff members around and it was easy to flag them down whenever we needed something. They also did come around the table occasionally to check on us. Food is where it fell flat. Overall, the food ate heavy and greasy. This is rare since Vietnamese food is often known for it's freshness and healthiness with all the veggies etc. We ordered a pork chop over broken rice with shrimp paste in soy paper. The rice was perfect broken rice, the pork was perfectly seasoned and fried nicely, has some nice lean bites and fatty bites. The problem was with the shrimp paste. It tasted stale and old and hard. It was off putting and really needed the nouc cham to help masks it. Second dish was what I usually order at all Vietnamese restaurants. Grilled pork with vermicelli. The one we got included 2 fried spring rolls (or ja yo). The spring rolls were good, I enjoyed them! The pork was a bit dry. Vermicelli was fine. Veggie mix only had romaine, cucumber, and bean sprouts. No basil or mints. The nouc cham was too bland to fix this dish. We needed more acid. There were too many raw garlic in the sauce that it gave us heartburn. The best thing we had was my ice tea. Simple jasmine tea was nice and thick, not watered down. Very refreshing and comes with refills. They have been here for a long time, and I want them to do well but I can understand why business has been slow of there are way better options out there right now.

It definitely lived up to the hype, so delicious and huge portions to feed 2-3 people. My new first choice for Vietnamese food in the 626 area!

I came by on a Friday at 7pm for a dinner (weekend before Mother's Day) and was able to get seated in 15 minutes. They have a Yelp waitlist but you must go in person to join the waitlist. There's a spacious parking lot but there's rarely any spots available and will require you to wait for a free one. The interior is honestly very pretty. It's decorated with overhead chandeliers with bright lights and marble tables. When your table is ready, they also give you a tray full of chopsticks, napkins, and forks. Each table also has hoisin, sriracha, chili sauce, and another sauce I'm not too sure about. After we ordered, I got my pho da biet maybe 5 minutes after. The cha gios also came out a few minutes after too. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's com tam was forgotten about until after I devoured my pho. We even asked them about it in the middle and it was checked on but we weren't updated and thought they had went ahead and cancelled it but it still came out. No biggy, we packed it to-go since we basically split the pho da biet. Food: Pho da biet (9.5/10): The pho was soooo delicious. It was meaty with a little bit of sweetness to it. This is one of the few places where I don't feel the need to sauce down my pho to enjoy it. There's a good amount of meat in here. If you're a tendon enjoyer, there's about 3 big chunks in here. I love the way they separate everything. If you order this, it comes with the stone bowl at no additional costs. They separate the noodles and ribeye on the side and let you "decorate" it yourself. There was also a good amount of noodles in here. Com tam (7.9/10): I thought that this one was just okay. We got the grilled pork and grilled pork chop and I thought that the meats were cooked perfectly. There was a nice char to the meats and it was seasoned deliciously. It came with a lot of rice and a side of soup to enjoy! I did enjoy this fish sauce more than the one that came with the egg rolls. Overall, I wish this dish came out the same time as the pho so we could've enjoyed it together. Cha gio/Imperial Rolls (7/10): I love egg rolls but this one didn't really stand out to me. It comes with a good amount of vegetables that you can use to wrap your egg rolls in. I wish the fish sauce that came with this was more salty. Maybe it was that day, but I couldn't really tell what was inside the filling. It was all mushed in together instead of different layers. The skin was very thin and crispy which I really liked!
