My group of 4 ate there one Sunday night. Like some of the reviewers here, we initially wanted to go to Soup Shop but would have to endure a long wait time. So, instead, we went to this place. At that time, we arrived when there were many vacant seats and were able to sit comfortably. The service and food were great. If I had to nitpick about the food, the steak I had was a little overdone, but it didn't take away from the enjoyment. The fried rice was amazing. The pho was spectacular. What more could you ask? I went here with my husband around 10:45pm. We saw that it was highly reviewed for the area and decided to visit. We were hopeful because we saw several other families eating inside. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food or service. We ordered the brisket pho and the Pho tai. The broth was oily and light. The food tasted like dishwater. Hello, after my initial review, I decided to return since I was working nearby and wanted to give this place a second chance, especially after the owner responded they were in the process of getting their beer license. When we arrived, there was a young man working the front and an older woman in the kitchen. I asked about the beer, but it still wasn't available, so we decided to focus on the food instead. Nice late night offerings open til 2:00 am. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Attentive service in a nice brightly lit dining area. They have a wide offering of different beef cuts for the Pho. Fried egg rolls are extra meaty but not the traditional cha Gio with fresh leafy veggies and nuoc mam dipping sauce. The pho broth was fresh and home made. It's good for those that prefer it on the sweeter side with mostly cinnamon and star anise flavors. Pho & Brew is definitely a late night spot, and convenient if Soup Shop down the way is too busy, and frankly, that's all it really boils down to. The inside is small yet filled with tables, and we came on a Friday night around 12 AM. They offered me a 20% discount after being told that the Pho that I wanted didn't have meatballs. It was either that or, they do have a 20% discount in general but I was a little shaky about what exactly it entails. Majority of the pho here is 13-15 dollars, but I think you could find better Pho elsewhere. The soup was un-naturally sweet and wasn't strained so the spices still floated in the soup, not reminiscent of the clear cut broth we always see in other Pho places. But more importantly, for 13-15 dollars, the meat was small and not enough to justify the price. Maybe 3 small pieces of sliced ribeye, a piece of tendon and don't think I saw any flank. And the noodles were overcooked and definitely tasted like they had sat for a while, but that may just be the type of noodle. Service was a little lacking as well. We requested waters and had to follow up 3 times to get them, even after our food had arrived; and they were full of ice and barely full (one was almost halfway.) Keep in mind, this is on a Friday night and we were only 1 of 3 tables currently there. While I want to love this place, unfortunately I would have just waited at Soup Shop for better quality Pho at the same price point, and more attentive service. Something quick and easy after a long day at Disneyland and wanted soup to warm up. We found this spot and there were no waiting. It's a very small shop. I made it simple and ordered Pho with rare steak. I'm very picky with the broth and I thought it was just ok. Broth is very cloudy and dark in color. It's also sweet. I'm use to clear clean broths. When we went, my friend and I just wanted to have some water with our meal but the server told us their ice machine was down, so we said water without ice is fine. We ordered Combination pho # 1, meatball pho, fried rice with grilled pork, garlic noodles with pork skewers. The pho was delicious pho broth was on point very surprising. I didn't even have to put anything in it. The broth was rich and not too salty but flavorful and delicious on all cylinders if you ever go this is a must order. Fried rice is very unique and delicious Vietnamese style paired well with the grilled pork. Garlic noodles very underrated looks simple but packed with flavor and very addictive goes with the pork skewers hand in hand. The pork by the way grilled to perfection with its lemongrass marinade is a staple in Vietnamese fare so succulent and soft so delicious. This is no upscale establishment but very underrated mom and pop business that's thriving. Arrived at 9:30pm, sat ourselves on the high chairs which felt very unsteady. We ordered pho with meatballs and pho with rare steak. We received two iced waters, ice came from an open ice container on the counter. The steak in the rare steak pho was tough and unlike any other meat I've ever received in pho. The flavor was off, I ate some of it but couldn't make myself eat the steak or more than a quarter of the broth. My daughter's meatball soup had a hair that she found in the soup towards the end. I didn't bring it up to the server, I just knew I'd never be back. I paid and during check out I was given a free Thai iced tea to take. We went to Soup Shop on a rainy Friday night and the wait was over an hour long, so we decided to check out another place in the area. That's when we found this place. I called ahead and the woman on the phone said there was no wait. However, when we got there less than 10 mins later the open seats were taken. We decided to wait and were seated within 10 mins. The place is super small. They have 4/5 seating sections each with a couple of tables which could seat 4 ppl total. They also have a small bar seating are with 4 seats. There's no waiting area or outside seating. The menu is very limited. Only a few appetizers, pho and entree options. We ordered pho and spring rolls with Thai Teas. The food was good and of good quality with generous portions. There was only one waitress, but the place is small enough to where you think she'd can handle it. However, our pho bowls came out before our drinks and appetizers. We didn't get any fixings for our pho and when we'd ask her for stuff she was short and not very friendly. The food is delicious and highly recommend. I happened to find this restaurant after getting out if disney. Its a very small but very cozy restaurant. My only discomfort would be that the employees aren't that attentive with the customers. First off. Service and ambiance were perfectly fine. They made you feel welcome. All good there. It was the food that was okay and that's why I'm in the middle. The rib bone was tasty but too fatty for me and usually I don't mind that. I will take it tho because it does help restore the body towards winter time. The vibe is quiet and low-key. I got the brisket pho which was good. It wasn't anything spectacular in terms of the broth or toppings, but I thought the meat quality was yummy and solid. First thing to consider, I had such a stumping experience that it's humorous now that I think about it. I'll try to be as gracious as I can, but there definitely needs to be some improvement. Upon entering we were not greeted. I'll give it to them in that they are short-staffed. It seems like three people were working and truly only one of them was serving all the tables. We were up at the counter looking at the menu for 5 minutes before the worker told us that we could sit at a table. I looked at him with a confused expression. The tables still had the leftover food and dishes from the previous party. We just stared at him until he started cleaning the tables. He took our order and left. Later, we were told that one of the items was not available. We were not provided water and had to ask three times. It took a long while before we received water. Here's what we ordered Pho - Not the best I've ever had. It looked and smelled really good, but the broth was a little sweet and heavy on the oil. The best part of the Pho was the noodles. They were bouncy and chewy. Steak and White Rice - This made me really confused because you can't really mess up a steak. Rice was fine. The steak came overcooked and dry (I'm willing to overlook this), but it was not seasoned. Not the best cut of steak, but again it's just meat. Somehow, this dish performed worst than the rest. Wonton Soup - I would not recommend. Not that many wontons, and the wonton seemed overcooked. The broth was heavy on the oil. Dish after dish, we were confused. We were unsure why and how other people rated their experiences so high. Just my recommendation for improvement, I think this place needs CHILI OIL. This place has a sweet chili sauce but it's not spicy at all. The soup-based foods seem to be on the sweeter side; I think chili oil could improve the taste for all of our food. Other things that we observed: * Customers seemed to have not finished their meal and did not take it home. * A party of 2 asked for a refund. Not sure why but it seemed that they waited a long time. They were there before us and did not receive their food until we were half way through our meal. * A party of 7 had their order taken. 5 minutes later, they were told that one of the items was not available. As we were leaving, I just saw the table empty, unsure when they left but knew that they were never served their meals. The restaurant's layout is set up in a way where it can be inefficient. There's counter seating that can possibly fit 4-6 people. The rest of the restaurant seems to combine two smaller tables to create larger tables. It seems like parties of 6 are ideal to accommodate. The tables may be filled with a party but not all of the seating is taken. For example, I saw a party of two take a table that could fit a party of 6. Funny enough, another party of 2 were just as confused as we were. The restaurant wasn't busy. There was some space at the counter, and a small table could be pulled to accommodate them. The waiter told them it would be a 30 minute wait. The customers, being confused, looked around at the empty seating and repeated that the were a party of 2. Again, the waiter said it would be a 30 minute wait. The customers left. Aside from that, they've got great taste in music. No pop. Slightly alternative/indie rock with a melancholy sound. I would only recommend the place if you are on a really, really, really tight budget. Their prices are very affordable, but I think you may have a better culinary experience at other restaurants. read more

After a long day at Disneyland, we were starving and craving Vietnamese food. We found this spot near our hotel and ordered about $70 worth of dishes--supposedly "pho." Honestly, nothing tasted Vietnamese... or even Chinese. It was something completely unrecognizable. About 80% of the food ended up in the trash. The fried rice were sitting in a pool of oil, and even when you're hungry, almost anything tastes good--but not this. Cup Noodles would've been more enjoyable. I see a lot of mixed reviews about this spot but I actually loved it. My boyfriend and I went around 12am and we loved that it was open late, super convenient for a late night bite. We were looking for pho place on New years day that was open and came across this place. The interior looks a bit run down with a few tables and a barstool area. We took our food to go and when we got home I was pretty disappointed. The broth was extremely greasy, very little to no meat and no flavor. I also ordered egg rolls and these were also not good.
