Terrible experience with the cashier woman at this place. I ordered the pennyworts drink and she pulled out a dirty bucket of what looks like green water and told me the drink is spoiled, asked me to replace it with some other dessert. I politely declined and asked her to just help me cancel it. She then quietly filled up the cup with that juice and told me I cannot cancel my order! Well the banh mi is borderline awful here, with the bread that hurts the top of your mouth and the filling to bread ratio lacking enough meat. However, it's still in business because it's the cheapest you can find. When you buy 3, it's only $4 a sandwich. They also have bogo drinks and daily pho specials. The wait can take long and they are feeding those who are on a budget. However, I'd recommend going to Costco which is in the same parking lot, or go to another option (not Lees) all-together. I'd prefer to spend $8 for a fresh and tastier banh mi sandwich. But if you're a starving student, on a tight budget, or unwilling to drive a few miles further... give it a try and go in having really low expectations and it should be fine. read more

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I got Pad Thai noodles and dessert drinks. The dessert was a complete scam--95% water with almost no filling, yet they charge nearly $4.50 each. Total rip-off. The Pad Thai was disgusting: tasteless, greasy, and they actually wrapped hot noodles in plastic. It's unsafe and a serious health hazard. When I complained, the lady owner shrugged it off and told me it was "too late." Completely unprofessional and rude. You can't really beat the value here, and the food is always pretty good. We always buy more than one meal's worth when we're so that we have leftovers for the next day. Especially since we can never pass up the Buy 2 Get 1 free of the French bread banh mi! So it's usually that and 1-2 hot meals. So don't take it personally. My husband and I ordered the vermicelli with grilled pork and shrimp (V4 on the menu)and special combo pho (P1 on the menu). We also got the Thai milk green tea, regular green milk tea, and Che tai (dessert with different jellies with coconut milk base). Everything was DELICIOUS. Super dry, portions were small, not recommended. I was craving some banh mi and decided to go here instead of Lee's sandwiches, but I regret my choice. I've tried their other locations (Westminster and fountain valley), but never had an issue until I went here. They do have very good deals like buy 2 sandwiches get 1 free/buy 1 milk tea get 1 free. However the quality of the sandwich is poor. It's a lot smaller than a normal banh mi and much more dry and stale. Usually there's more meat/veggies but this one was almost all bread and no meat. It also had no spread, or if it did it was not noticeable. Usually banh mis have at least a layer of buttery spread on one side, but I could not see it on this. We thought maybe they forgot, so we asked them if we could have a side of spread to do it ourselves but they said it would cost $3. They charge extra for something that should've been on it the first place.
