Where do I start. This is a hard to find gem. I came across it by accident through a review I read from a message board. I wanted a good message to help with the stressful office work. Yes, paper pushing is stressful :). This place delivered a on point and extract pressure massage that is . This is a full body massage that worked all the knots and help with blood circulation. Tanya stretched and bent me in ways that I did not know I was capable. Since it's my first massage at this location, it took me sometime to adjust and trust. My worry on falling off the table is quickly assured it won't happen through good communication. The setting is really nice , clean and calm. The restroom is around the corner. It's located in an office building, so you won't find it if you are walking along. The staff , attentive and friendly. Communication is good. After the massage, I feel a sense of inner clam. The owner is extremely unprofessional and rude. I bought a 5 massage package and she refused to honor it because she raised her prices. Based on my observations and experiences at this business, in my opinion, this kind of practice and behavior seems to be normal and it was implied that the owner is difficult to deal with and has got into battles with other customers regarding the same issue (the owner was not physically present but was rather on the phone). I agreed to accept a refund for my package because I didn't want to deal with her any further but she just kept going. She was simply abrasive and has no self awareness let alone know how to treat her customers or run a business. I feel bad for her employees. The owner sent me a message apologizing for her words and behavior subsequently but I will taking my business elsewhere. Word of advice: STAY AWAY from this headache, it NOT worth it. Booked a couples massage- 1.) was told we both get female masseuses and that male masseuse were at request, which we did not get. My boyfriend got a male masseuse and was highly uncomfortable and was told no more female masseuse. So they still continue massaging 2.) the massage itself was rough. The lady was using her knuckles in the same area and it just hurt. She didn't do my feet yet my boyfriend and other friends got their feet massaged, so there are inconsistencies. The oil or lotion they use it super sticky, so do not come here if you have other plans after. 3.) the sheet and bed itself felt really rough and gross. 4.) when I was asked to flipped over, she did a bad job of pulling the sheets down, so I had a few nip slips in front of the other male masseuse and her. 5.) we tipped based on how we felt and it should of been no tipped at all for all these issues. The male masseuse had the audacity to ask for more tip for him and the female masseuse. Just like those other places that do and make you feel uncomfortable. AMAZING!! Finally have found a massage spot in the city that I know I will be coming back to time and time again from now on. Can seriously never go wrong with Thai massage parlors...they really do such a better job than American massage parlors in my opinion. I've come twice now, the first time I had Jenny and the second time I had Thanit. Both were amazing and really worked out the knots and tension in my shoulders and back. What I absolutely love about Thai massages is the stretching, and these ladies know what they're doing. I also really like that they don't use oils and only creams, but this is just a personal preference. It was $120 for an hour of a Combination (Thai + Deep Tissue) Massage, not including tip. I visited Banyan Tree Thai Spa a month ago. What a beautiful place. Very welcoming. I walked in and she greeted me, have me sat down, and serve me sparkling water. They provided me clean slippers after I took my shoes off. The massage session was EXCELLENT . I had combination massage 2 hours. I was surprised as a big guy but my therapist really worked hard and applied smooth, flow and strong pressure. The stretching technique was great. I felt like new person afterwords. She spent 15 mins on my neck and head then placed hot towel which has smell of essential oil. it was very refreshing..!!! I was served hot tea and water once walked out to the waiting room. I got to talk to owner just a little bit. She was very nice and was telling me about her background. I am impressed..! She is the greatest.!! Also the her staff are very nice. I definitely will come back. Btw, I spent $240 (not Included tip) for 2 hours. it's not cheap but it's totally worth it.! read more

Woke up this morning with a super stiff/sore lower back. Made a same day appointment, and holy smokes! I didn't think 90 minutes was enough to unwind my muscles (I am chronically stiff from too much long-haul air travel and hotel beds). I got the traditional Thai massage and I will absolutely be coming back each and every time I come to town. They give you a discount for paying cash, which I'm all about. My husband and I went today and tried Thai and combo massages. This was the best experience and though it was our first time, it will not be our last! The stretching was unique and really loosened up our muscles. At first I was worried it would be painful but I just gave in and it ended up feeling fantastic. Being a nursing student is very stressful.. so I decided to try a Thai massage! This form of massage is more of a mix of yoga and massage, rather than the traditional laying down and having someone work on you. My masseuse was Mina, and I had a chance to meet the owner Tanya as well! Both of them were professional and very informative about the services at Buri Spa. The massage room itself is set up with candles, aromatherapy scents, a comfy mat, pillow, and thoughtful amenities (water, mints, change of clothes). I was very impressed! I also filled out a small survey as I was waiting, regarding my problem areas and how much pressure I wanted. When the massage started, I was surprised at how strong it was but I grew more relaxed as it went on. Mina has 15 years of experience and trained in Thailand so I trusted her to loosen up my muscles. We started with stretching and then proceeded to deep palpation. My favorite was definitely the neck cracking, I've never experienced that before and it's a unique feeling. I was also treated to a neck and head massage, paired with a hot towel I was in heaven! I was sad when the massage ended, but I will definitely return for their other types of massage. Located in Ktown Manhattan, Buri Spa is on the 3rd floor of a building that's pretty easy to miss. Once you walk in you'll see a front desk and 3 rooms-not sure if they have double beds for couple massages but mines was a private room. The owner, Tanya, and staff are all Thai which I really appreciate considering this is a Thai massage/spa. I did a 30 minute massage with Jenny, whom I highly highly recommend! She asked me where I wanted to focus on (I said shoulders) and considering that we only had 30 minutes she advised doing just the upper body. The massage was amazing!!! She applied great pressure and didn't try to massage out all my knots to the point of pain. She also added a cream/oil that's similar to tiger balm? to help alleviate tension.
