Stopped by here for a quick dinner. Very spacious parking lot. Definitely very easy to get too. This joint is quite small, but it's meant to not really be a restaurant, it's giving boba shop space size. I noticed next door they had a bbq shop, so they probably get all their meat supplies next door. Ordering was easy and efficient. I ordered a duck bao and a bolsa bao which was the pork belly bao. It didn't take too long for my order to be completed either since I was the only person in the shop. Digging into the duck bao first, wow the duck was realllyyy good. They slab on a generous piece of duck with perfect parts of meat, fat, and skin. It's very oily though, but it was very delicious. Then I had the bolsa bao, this was okay tbh but it was still pretty nice. The skin of the pork belly could be crispier, but it tasted like it was out for awhile. The meat itself was a bit tough to pull apart, but the overall flavors were very nice. Also the fried onions on both of the baos was a really nice touch. Overall, quick and easy joint. I would definitely get the duck bao again. It's kinda like the one you would get at the Chinese seafood restaurant, but even larger. It's closer to $6 per bao, which is a bit higher than I may have expected, but not as high as if you're going to a night market for it.

Found this place randomly while driving and decided to drop in for a Bao. I ordered the Bolsa Bao which is their crispy roast pork option. First off, the portion size of the bao is pretty large, but it's a huge chunk of the crispy roast pork, so each bite, even when you get to the end is still a mouthful of pork, which I really appreciated. The pickled red onions and cucumbers also were perfect accompaniments to cut through the fattiness of the pork. Overall, a really good Bao. I will definitely come back to try their other Bao options. Otherwise the store was located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I came during the early afternoon and it was not busy. The guys behind the counter were really helpful when I came in and explained the menu to me. Service was really quick and efficient. The store itself is clean and has a couple tables inside to sit and enjoy your meal. It has a nice casual feel inside with some music playing.
Baos Hog serves up various proteins in baos as well as the option to get the proteins with rice. Pricing for the baos are about half of the rice plates, but I feel like you get much better value with the rice plates. Ribeye and egg rice ($12) - Korean marinated beef was grilled to perfection and served with green onion on top of rice and a sunny side egg. This is the best deal here. Fish bao ($5.50) - The mouth feel of fried basa fish, crispy red/white cabbage, onions, honey mustard sauce and the fluffy soff bao buns really hit the mark! This was a great tasting dish as well. Cow bao ($5) - This had the same ribeye and green onions utilized in the plate. Hot chick bao ($5) - This fried chicken bao with a house sauce, slaw, tossed in a vinaigrette, topped with cilantro and siracha was another well executed dish. Hainan chicken rice with dark meat ($12) - I enjoyed this poached chicken and rice dish. Duck bao ($5.50) - This consisted of pan seared duck, slaw and a hoisin mayo which provided a slightly sweet taste. I'm not a fan of duck but it went well with the bao. Overall there are a lot of protein options to choose from and the prices are reasonable, especially for the rice dishes and that's why I'm bumping their rating up to 5 stars. I recommend getting a single rice dish or 3 baos to fill you up. They have several tables inside as well as 2 outside, so there isn't a whole lot of seating. Most people were getting their items to go.
Loved Baos Hog! The Hainan chicken and baos were so good! Everything was flavorful and fresh, and the prices are super reasonable. Great spot for a tasty, satisfying meal -- definitely coming back!
This place was surprisingly delicious. It opened awhile ago and I never thought to try it, but one day I decided to come in, and we ordered the crispy hainan chicken, fries, duck bao, and bolsa bao (crispy pork belly). All dishes were incredibly crispy, flavorful, and had a great texture. The sauces with the chicken rice added a nice variety to the dish, and we were very full for two people after the meal. The workers were quick to serve, and food came out in a good amount of time. The restaurant itself didn't have a lot of seating, but it also wasn't very crowded so I think you could sit down and eat fairly quickly

Placed in a very crowded plaza, parking is very easy. There's a lot of other restaurants around, and I'm surprised this place isn't more crowded. The place itself is a little small, but it's cozy enough inside to enjoy eating at the place. The service itself is quick and efficient, or maybe it's because one of the owners was literally the person working the cash register. The braised pork belly in the bao felt like it was cooked to perfection. Considering the price, I could've just ordered 2-3 of these and I would have been extremely happy with the meal. The Hainan chicken didn't disappoint either, so if baos aren't enough, the Hainan chicken is worth it. Definitely recommend the boss Bao if you stop by here
hidden little shop in a gg plaza! fun and modern environment with pop/r&b/hip-hop blasting and a simple yet infused menu with Vietnamese/Chinese dishes. Duck Bao & Bolsa Boa were 5/5. Solid slabs of meat, with plenty of sauce and toppings (fresh cucumber). everything tasted fresh, and was prepped quick! Also welcoming service as soon as we walked in the door. would def come back here and recommend. Wish they had a combo or something if you bought 3/5/10 baos or something like that, esp w/a drink!
Parking here takes patience -- Hoa Binh supermarket next door draws a crowd. Circle the lot, find a spot, and forget about it once you smell what's wafting out of that kitchen. The bao is the whole show. Not the flat, pale discs you're used to -- these are pillowy white clouds, split open and stuffed obesely full. I ordered three, which felt greedy until the first bite proved otherwise. The Baos Hog: a slab of roasted pork belly, crackly skin still attached, crunching against pickled carrots and red onion, fried shallots on top like confetti. The Duck Bao: crispy-skinned duck slathered happily in hoisin and plum sauce, cucumber cutting through the richness. Lastly, the Cow Bao: grilled rib eye and charred scallions, simple and smoky. Each one $5.75. Highway robbery, but in your favor. Best part? Watch the kitchen wall. A hand literally reaches through a cut-out window, passing pork belly and duck from Lien Hoa next door -- same family owners, the daughter runs Baos Hog. Farm-to-table, except the farm is eight feet away. Tiny dining room, but spotless, and service fast and kind. Eat like a Boss at Baos. 5 Stars -- no hesitation. Nicely done!
The bun itself is soft and good. Big portions but I feel as if the meat inside is lacking flavor. We got Steak-the meat quality is good but there wasn't much flavor. BBQ Pork-lacking the flavor on the char sui but with a little hoisin sauce it was good. Duck-this is the one that was really good, the duck flavor, the bun and the fresh cucumbers. Overall, the portions are big and meat filling is generous, bun has a nice texture to it. Located inside the plaza where the Hoa Binh market is.

After a long day at work followed by an evening rehearsal, Baos Hog was the perfect to-go stop. I ordered the Baos Hog fries with crispy pork belly and the roast pork rice with an added egg. The wait was short, and even after a five-minute drive, everything was still warm and delicious. The pork had a great balance of crispiness, and the portion of fries was generous and satisfying. Everything felt well-priced for the quality and amount of food. Even when popping in quickly, the space has a fun, casual vibe that feels welcoming and energetic. I've tried several items here, and everything has been consistently good. The variety of bao options alone keeps me coming back, and it's a solid spot whether you're dining in or grabbing food to go.
Ordered the Boss Fries with pork and uuuugh sooo yummy! The fries were crispy, the pork was flavorful, and everything worked so well together. I kept saying "just one more bite" and suddenly it was all gone. Definitely hitting the spot and I'd order it again! read more

Basically a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant located deep in Garden Grove. It's like finding $200 bucks in your Nike shoebox that you kept hidden just in case and then you finally found it. It's freakin crazy good and delicious, alright. Me and the guys came here a couple days ago from the bar and we had the buzzed munchies. The staff working there are dope and friendly. The interior is minimalistic, but the music playlist hit the vibe right with that Akon song. We ordered the Duck Bao, Boss Bao, Cow Bao, and lastly the Bolsa Bao. It's basically like an Asian taco but the bun is made with rice, so it's very fluffy and soft. The Bolsa Bao which has the roasted pork is very crispy and a bit fatty, but still bomb. My favorite was the Duck bao and the sauce it came with had some much flavor. It was smoky and savory. All the veggies tasted fresh, nothing smelly. I recommend the Duck bao for sure guys, god damn! Eat like a BAOS. Though high-key, I come here for the dark meat Hai Nan Chicken Rice - FAVORITE OF ALL TIME IN THE OC!!! Sounds like a simple & plain dish, but let me tell you... it is SO SAVORY & FLAVORFUL, including the rice itself, which was also not sticky. I try to savor each bite because the chicken is just that JUICY, no ginger or hot sauce needed to boost the taste. Out of all the Hai Nan Chicken I've tried in OC, this place has the strongest deep flavor. The shop next door was selling duck and inspired me to try Duck Bao. Yuuum taste like peking duck. Also got the Bolsa Bao (pork belly).. loved the crispy outer skin. A nice bonus, I like the texture of the thinly sliced green onions on both the chicken & baos. You can watch them slice your chicken & assemble your baos from behind the glass. Self serve ice water & toss your own trash/stack tray when done. Casual vibe, upbeat with the EDM playing haha Few small tables of 2 that can be push together for parties of 4 or 6. Plenty of parking in the plaza area. read more

Baos Hog is the ultimate comfort food and I can't get enough of how good everything is. I've been here many times and always love their food, hospitality, and cleanliness. Their Hainan chicken was incredibly flavorful and juicy, delicious is honestly an understatement. I love their ginger sauce and the fried garlic/shallots on the chicken complement the dish perfectly. I also ordered the banh hoi with fried fish, which was so good. The rice vermicelli was cooked perfectly, and the fish was fried golden and tender. If you want solid dishes full of flavor, try anything on the menu truly won't disappoint. read more

Delicious delicious! I would definitely come back. I was driving from San Diego to go to a nearby dessert spot. I stopped by here after looking at their online menu and the young lady who helped me out made some recommendations which was very helpful. I didn't get to get her name but she was very kind and helpful which is great customer service! Food is a 10/10! The inside was very clean and had great music. read more

This place is an OG staple of Garden Grove, the rice plates with the Chinese deli meats from the place next door hits so hard after a workout. I love how affordable it is, and the portion sizes are so generous! There are tables and seats available if you wanted to dine in but I usually opt to take out. Service is brisk and courteous, I would recommend getting the rice boxes and any of the baos! read more

Was back down in Garden Grove from Northern California, and of course I had to stop at the Hog! My daughter had a Bolsa bao and the popcorn chicken with a really yummy drink, and I had two Bolsa's and a duck Bao. The Bolsa is a crispy, roasted pork, and it is special and amazing. Once again, the taste of these fresh and original Bao's is the best I've ever had anywhere on the planet. I repeatedly go out of my way to hit this (live 400 miles away). When I'm there, I typically order extra bows to go to give to special people, simply because everybody should taste this amazing piece of heaven. They also have chicken, beef, and fish bao's. They also now make Vietnamese sandwiches. I have not tried one yet, but with the quality of ingredients, I can only imagine that it will be absolutely delicious. Try this place if you're anywhere near the area. You can't go wrong at the hog!!! IT IS SIMPLY THE BEST! read more

Never disappoints... came here on a Saturday craving for their roasted pork. Instead of the banh mi I opted for the rice place instead. The cashier guy who helped me was super nice and said today the pork was ultra flavorful and juicy and it was! So delicious and great pricing. read more
I haven't been back in a year, but the food is still great and the rice place is still a good portion. I typically always order their roasted duck bowl and add the crispy pork belly to it as well (an additional charge). Service is always super fast, and food comes out usually in 5min, maybe 10-15min if they're super busy. I love the duck sauce that they give you on the side. The duck is super juicy and never dry. The pork belly can be a hit or a miss since sometimes it's a bit too fatty, but this time around it's perfect! Whenever watermelon is in season, definitely order the watermelon chiller. Sooo good and sooo refreshing on a hot day. The store is generally always clean. We did go during a weekday around lunch time and wasn't super busy inside. There are quite a bit of to-go orders from what we noticed. This place always hits the spot since I don't get to eat this often now that I no longer live in the area. read more

These baos are sooooo good and packed with so much flavor. They have so many options to try, but the cashier gave some good recommendations for us. I panicked and got 3 for myself, but it was honestly the perfect portion. I would say the Bolsa Bao is my favorite one because of all the different textures in one bite. The skin of the pork is so crispy, the pork meat is tender, there are crunchy pickled veggies, and it's all on top of a fluffy bun. I love this place, and I would love to come back. One thing I would make note of is that there is limited seating, so be prepared to enjoy your baos on the road! read more

+ Food: Duck bao was great, but I do wish there was a bit more duck cause it was significantly less than the chicken. The chicken was a bit dry, so I'd recommend the duck bao more. Food came out hot and the bao was soft. They were both very filling so $6 price/bao was a great deal. + Service: They were nice. Took a bit longer than I thought but it's fine cause the food did come out hot. + Location: The restaurant is small with few seatings inside. No wait on a Sunday afternoon. TLDR: One of the better meals that you can get for the price point. I've been here a handful of times and always get different things. Safe to say that most if not all the food that they serve are above average and I look forward to eating here again. BAOs: The bao is always easy to judge but hard to execute. The bun makes or breaks one's experience and I'm glad to report that they nailed the buns. The filling wasn't too far behind. The menu has a few things on it, but they're very confident on their core foods. Duck, Pork Belly, and Ribeye are both in the rice and bao options, and all 3 were consistently good regardless if you paired it with rice or bun. For $5 a piece, it's always a solid snack option. Best of the bunch, duck. Rice: It's a bunch of rice with generous portions all for $12. Like I said before, they did really well when it came to the flavors of the viands and how it paired up with the rice. I can't really pick a favorite, but I'll have to ding the Crispy Hainan chicken since it was the hardest to eat. The flavors were nice, but I felt that the skin didn't come off the meat as easily. The decision to keep the quarter leg bone on made things a bit inconvenient. Service: It's pretty straightforward. You order and you pick up your food from the counter. Ambiance: Nothing notable. My friends and I ordered a bunch of baos and they are huge! We tried Boss Bao, Duck Bao, Bolsa Bao, and Hainan Chicken Bao. All super delicious with great flavors. The baos are nice and fluffy. We also tried the hainan chicken dark meat rice. That was also great. This restaurant is not open for dine in. We tried calling the restaurant to order carryout but no one would pick up so we ordered on DoorDash which makes the food a little more expensive. Otherwise the prices are decent. read more

Normally 930 but with the covid19 ... it's been closed
Are they still open? I called but the line seems disconnected.
I went about a month ago, so I have no idea if they are still open. But a lot of restaurants are closed temporarily
Do they still have the 5 star program? staff seemed unsure when i asked, wish i redeemed the other rewards before they discontinued.
Unfortunately they don't! I lost all my points to when they switched over to squareup rewards
Cashier doesn't smile or greet customer s?
We all have bad days. When I went my cashier was super sweet and happy. She even complimented my shirt.
