The interior is minimalistic, but the music playlist hit the vibe right with that Akon song. We ordered the Duck Bao, Boss Bao, Cow Bao, and lastly the Bolsa Bao. It's basically like an Asian taco but the bun is made with rice, so it's very fluffy and soft. The Bolsa Bao which has the roasted pork is very crispy and a bit fatty, but still bomb. This joint is quite small, but it's meant to not really be a restaurant, it's giving boba shop space size. I noticed next door they had a bbq shop, so they probably get all their meat supplies next door. Ordering was easy and efficient. I ordered a duck bao and a bolsa bao which was the pork belly bao. It didn't take too long for my order to be completed either since I was the only person in the shop. Digging into the duck bao first, wow the duck was realllyyy good. They slab on a generous piece of duck with perfect parts of meat, fat, and skin. It's very oily though, but it was very delicious. Then I had the bolsa bao, this was okay tbh but it was still pretty nice. The skin of the pork belly could be crispier, but it tasted like it was out for awhile. The meat itself was a bit tough to pull apart, but the overall flavors were very nice. Also the fried onions on both of the baos was a really nice touch. Overall, quick and easy joint. Found this place randomly while driving and decided to drop in for a Bao. I ordered the Bolsa Bao which is their crispy roast pork option. First off, the portion size of the bao is pretty large, but it's a huge chunk of the crispy roast pork, so each bite, even when you get to the end is still a mouthful of pork, which I really appreciated. The pickled red onions and cucumbers also were perfect accompaniments to cut through the fattiness of the pork. Overall, a really good Bao. I will definitely come back to try their other Bao options. Ribeye and egg rice ($12) - Korean marinated beef was grilled to perfection and served with green onion on top of rice and a sunny side egg. This is the best deal here. Fish bao ($5.50) - The mouth feel of fried basa fish, crispy red/white cabbage, onions, honey mustard sauce and the fluffy soff bao buns really hit the mark! This was a great tasting dish as well. Cow bao ($5) - This had the same ribeye and green onions utilized in the plate. Hot chick bao ($5) - This fried chicken bao with a house sauce, slaw, tossed in a vinaigrette, topped with cilantro and siracha was another well executed dish. Hainan chicken rice with dark meat ($12) - I enjoyed this poached chicken and rice dish. Duck bao ($5.50) - This consisted of pan seared duck, slaw and a hoisin mayo which provided a slightly sweet taste. I'm not a fan of duck but it went well with the bao. Overall there are a lot of protein options to choose from and the prices are reasonable, especially for the rice dishes and that's why I'm bumping their rating up to 5 stars. Once again, the taste of these fresh and original Bao's is the best I've ever had anywhere on the planet. I repeatedly go out of my way to hit this (live 400 miles away). After looking for a shop to pick up food at on our way to the beach, I was captivated (literally) by the photos of Baos Hog's food. I wanted to order everything I saw, but instead, I opted to order hot hick baos, duck baos, Bolsa baos, white meat Hainan chicken, and a crispy pork banh mi for my family. I placed an order at 4:52 p.m. for a pick up time of 5:30 p.m. since we live 30 minutes away, but I got a text and email at 5:09 saying my food was ready to pick up. I'm glad they can be efficient, but I specifically chose 5:30 so my food would be fresh and ready when we got there. With traffic, I ended up getting there at 5:40, so my food had been sitting out ready to go for 30 minutes. By the time we got to the beach, the baos were falling apart in half from all the sauces and contents inside. The Hainan chicken was the only thing that held up the most. And sadly, everything was just okay. The baos lacked salt, the banh mi bread was tough and the 'green pate' was interesting, and the Hainan chicken was fine and the best item out of our order. I am planning a large event and wanted to incorporate baos in my party menu. I stumbled upon Baos Hog in Yelp and the photos looked really yummy. So I decided to go there and try five of their Baos: Bolsa, Boss, fried chicken, Char siu and Cow. The meat they used tasted very gamey and fatty with a very pungent smell. The pork belly on the Boss and Bolsa baos were the worst and way too fatty, I took one bite and couldn't finish it. The cow Bao which is supposed to be like Korean bulgogi tasted strange, really old. The fried chicken Bao was the only one that was ok. The vegetables inside were fine. The meat they use is def poor quality and probably really inexpensive. If they bought meat from a quality place, these baos would be amazing. They would get a lot more business and easily be able to raise their prices read more
